I just picked up a used Taylor guitar but it wasn’t playing quite right. I knew I needed to have a professional set up. I thought about trying to do it myself, but I figured I should leave it to the pros. I’m really happy I went to Kaltone. I wanted to support a local business. Fantastic service, very professional, Lachlan knew exactly what needed to be done, and as he promised my guitar plays beautifully! Night and day difference. Highly recommend!

I simply cannot reccomend this place enough - the techs on site are knowledgeable and you can tell they love the work they do. I even received a follow-up call about a week after picking up my guitar inquiring about how well it was playing, which was a fantastic touch.The pricing with this company is very competitive; I was fully expecting to pay over $150 for a basic setup and some fret crowning work, but I was pleasantly surprised to be charged less than $100.Turnaround time was fairly good; I dropped my guitar off just before the shop closed on Monday, and received a call Friday morning that the work was completed. Although to be fair, I did specify with the tech that I would be moving that week and was in no rush to get the guitar back.There is a reason this place only has 5 star reviews on here... if you live in Kalamazoo, skip the corporate chain store and get some fantastic local service. Youre not going to pay much (if anything) more at Kal Tone than the big chain would charge you, and the service cannot be matched.

Lachlan was very friendly and professional. I brought in a cheap bass with messed up electronics that had never been set up. He said it would be $30 to figure out the problem. He also said it would cost $60 to set up the bass and $35 to dress the frets if I wanted that. I decided to go for all of it. He said the electronics problem wouldve been found out and fixed with the normal set up process, so he didnt even charge me for the electronics fix. So I paid $95 to get electronics fixed, get it set up, and get the frets dressed. It feels and sounds great! I really appreciate the work and the honesty. I will definitely be back!!

Very helpful and friendly staff. I was able to drop off my bass and have it repaired within a few days. I was given multiple different options for pricing and they were very accommodating. I would recommend their services and I will be returning if I need another repair done.

Great experience here. Anna Joy, Ry, Jay, were so warm and welcoming. They showed me around the whole place. The work on my guitar was done in a timely and professional way. Ry and Anna, clearly know their stuff. I recommend you get over to their shop and meet them. If you have serious work to do on your instrument, this is your place to go.

I took my warmoth bass in to have strap buttons added. The service was quick, affordable, and friendly. It was my only bass at the time, and they got it done quickly so that I wouldnt be without my instrument for longer than necessary. I cant wait to go back.

I called around about converting my previous guitar to a leftie for my 8 year old daughter. Kal-Tone took the time to explain everything that needed to be done, as well as price options, so I could make a decision on what to do. Very helpful, very fast work, and quality result. The location was hard to find, however its a cute little developing area. I was more than happy about the service, the quality, and the location. They are doing great things for local musicians!

I did not anticipate that my instruments could ever sound so good. Ive had other shops turn me down over the years when I took a Ukulele in to get serviced saying that there was little they could do. However, Kal-Tone on it. I still cant believe how much better my baritone sounds and that they were able to fix my concert ukes electrical in such a cost effective way. They completely exceeded my expectations.

I had a few guitars I needed to have fixed. I heard about Kal-tone through a friend so I went to see if they could fix my guitars, and when they were finished I was pleased with there work. The people there really know what they are doing. If I ever have another problem with one of my guitars I will definitely go to them.

Kal-Tone re-fretted my ‘83 Gibson 335S. It plays like a new guitar, and has again become my favorite guitar to play after all these years! I highly recommend their services!

I have a Telecaster that I hated to play because several of the strings went sharp when played up near the nut. I had a guy work on it in Florida, still the same problem. I took it to the people at Kal-Tone they cut nut slots lower, adjusted intonation and now I love playing that instrument. They did a great job very reasonable price and had it done the next day, what more can I say, 👍👍
