Excellent company with solid tools. I have multiple machines from Kalamazoo and they are built to run! My oldest is a 1x42 sander that has been put through the ringer since the mid 90s and it just keeps rolling. I use it every single day for my sharpening business and it just wont quit! I dig it so much I recently bought a brand new one just to have and the new ones are every bit as solid and all parts are the same. To me that is a huge plus! If I need a part, its available.... forever!Ive called multiple times over the years with various questions and they are always very helpful. Great company. I have a 1 x 42 Kalamazoo belt sander. I dont write reviews typically but this is different. This little grinder gets review comments like, as basic as it gets or no bells and whistles. One person stated negatively that it was underwhelming. I think the engineer who developed this machine is genius. Simple is my Kalamazoos greatest attribute. It is safe, forgiving and efficient. Its small footprint makes it pleasure to own and operate. Stunning build supported by the best-ever customer service. Good job Kalamazoo. Made here....in Michigan...where industry was invented.

I have now purchased two tools from Kalamazoo Industries, a Model 1SM belt sander/grinder for sharpening tools, and a DS-10 disk sander for shaping wood parts in my shop. Both tools have proven to be solid, reliable workhorses with literally every piece and part made in the US. Working with the company has been easy as can be, and Aaron (one of their reps) has actually checked in with me a couple times just to make sure everything is still working as its supposed to be. Really, if you need a good, American-made power tool, Id find it pretty hard to go wrong with Kalamazoo.Something kind of interesting: At one point just after I purchased it, the DS-10 sander started making some kind of odd, harmonic noises. I asked Aaron about it, and instead of just doing the send it back thing that would leave me without a tool for 2x shipping intervals, they actually walked me through some very simple diagnostic steps and we were able to fix it right there, given the tools extremely simple and robust design. Turns out that it was just the safety guard, had managed to be oriented in *just* the right position that the motor vibration was making it ring in harmony with the fence. Moved it ever so slightly, and the noise just went away. Great crew to work with!

They do not service the public and will treat you like you are a major irritation for simply calling them on their publicly listed telephone number from their own website to attempt to buy an expensive piece of equipment that they make and sell. Zero stars for non-existent and disrespectful customer service. Two stars because their products are said to be very reliable.Edit: I upgraded this review to four stars because the owner responded quickly and showed great concern for wanting to correct an employees mistake. That is exactly what an owner of a company should do and it says more about Kalamazoo Industries than an employee who may have been having a bad day. Thanks.
