This store is honestly the worst. I’ve been in three times over the course of 2 weeks for a certain eyeliner… and it’s never restocked. To add to the wonderful experience here you practically have to hunt down one of their “beauty professionals” to ask for help… and then they never have any idea when things are coming in or what you’re talking about.I kind of like going in to places to buy things, still. But I guess I might as well just give up on shopping in person, especially here.

I have been in this Ulta three times since I’ve lived here. All three of the times, the staff was very unfriendly and snooty towards me, all unprovoked, as I am in customer service, and am overly friendly to workers at establishments. Also, one of the girls that is always there (and rude), came up to me and said I had to leave within 5 minutes bc I was not wearing a mask. News flash, mask mandates have been lifted. I don’t need to wear a mask, nor do I need an unfriendly employee telling me I need to. I expect better from a company like this, especially when I am going in there and dropping $$$$. I see there are a lot of reviews about the bad customer service at this location. They should work on this. Meanwhile, I’ll take my business elsewhere.

While I do enjoy that we need to wear masks at Ulta (since it is a company policy so they can chose whether you need to wear one or not) they are a bit rude there. I wondered around for a good 5 minutes before I could find anyone to help me and when I did they rushed me because they did not want to service me. All I asked for was a good recommendation of a foundation for dry skin.

As someone who works in healthcare, I understand our states current mask mandate. I also know that there are exemptions for people who have respiratory ailments. Therefore if you see a person without a mask, you should assume that they do indeed have a medical problem that makes masks uncomfortable. HOWEVER you are not legally allowed to ask if they have a medical ailment.I have copied and pasted this statement from our Governor for your employees to educate themselves. Please read the last sentence carefully:The directive does not require face coverings in counties with three or fewer active cases or for children under 5, though face coverings are strongly encouraged in both cases. Other exceptions include children under 2, while eating or drinking at businesses that sell food or drinks, during activities that make face coverings unsafe (like strenuous physical exercise or swimming), while giving speeches or performances in front of a socially distanced audience, while receiving medical care or for people with a preexisting condition that would make wearing a face covering unsafe.Today I entered Ulta not wearing a mask because I do have a respiratory ailment that makes wearing a mask hard to breathe. (Not that my protected health information is any of your business) I was accosted and humiliated by the assistant manager as soon as I entered the door. I was told I could not shop without a mask and that it was a state mandate. Knowing that I was exempt, I stated I had a respiratory ailment. I was informed it was a corporate mandate and it was required. Every person in the store was staring at me. I was absolutely mortified. Was I coming in to window shop and touch everything? No. I needed my usual foundation. I would have been in and out within 1 minute. Instead I was there for 5 minutes because of the lecture I received from someone who was uneducated.I have spent about $1000 at this store over the last couple months. I will now by directly from Urban Decay instead of walking into this store to be humiliated again.

STOP requiring data i.e phone numbers in order to process a transaction!!! You dont need my data in order to process a transaction. I dont care about your defense and that you will not use it for anything. I believe it is not necessary and its my right to not give you my data. I went directly out to my car and went on Amazon and purchased the $150s worth of product that I walked away from at the register. Its too bad because I really like the sales rep for Clinique. She a great sales person!

I wished I read the reviews first given our communities recent mask changes before coming, of other guests who took the time to write about their awful experience being told to put on a mask or else. As you read the others experiences you’ll see the same careless response.Today was my last visit and store purchase. I came in with my teenage daughter who had a mask on, but as soon as the store manager saw me without one I was immediately told I needed to put on a mask or I could not finish shopping. I politely mentioned I have a medical condition (which I do, and am not claiming to be “allergic to tyranny”) and she repeated its store policy and that for the safety and comfort of others I cant shop in store without a face covering and proceeded to offer me a “paper mask”. ... paper? I might as well not wear one because how could a paper mask be as good as the others but whatever. She told me she could not let me browse around without a mask. She then asked if I was done with my shopping since I had a few items in my hand and I said yes and she said she would check me out and whisked herself past by to the counter. I’ve never felt so unwelcome and discriminated against even though I politely mentioned I have a medical condition preventing me from 100% abiding a suggested approach to this situation. Even when this whole thing is over I wont be spending my money there. They dont ask that guests wear masks, they demand it- or no in store service. No you are not welcome inside if you cannot wear a face covering. There are many other stores who will respectfully allow you to shop despite your limitations. A mandate is not a law, but Ulta is acting like you’re breaking one if you walk in maskless. Even if you are aware of your personal space and can keep 6 feet away it’s unacceptable to the establishment and they will borderline humiliate you as you chose to come there to spend your money.Even though I have reached platinum status for spending a lot of money at Ulta and have a charge card there, I wont support a business who has obviously no consideration for those who have medical conditions and choose to accept the risks involved with catching the flu, each and every year.

I Love working here we have a great team and service yes we do require the useage of mask for all of our health protection we do however ask all of our customers who dont want to wear a mask if they know what they are getting exactly that they can run and grab it and if not then we do offer curb side pick up to all customers as an employee we have to wear our mask all day from start to end and all we ask is that in that short amount of time you wear yours then at the door go ahead and take it off it is a state mandate to wear them in all business you enter its right on the doors we understand that not everyone can wear it but we still require them and we can have a person shop with you to help get you in and out and we appreciate everyone that comes in to ulta

Love the selection of products but customer service is generally poor. It’s seems like the employees consistently don’t care about the customers. They are either invested in their own private conversations or simply just don’t get that customers contribute to their paychecks and a smile and offer to locate items would be a good idea. Been shopping here since they opened so for years now and have been turning to Amazon for products when I don’t need something “right now” so that I can avoid the frustration of walking in a door where folks are simply punching the clock. I guess poor culture is the problem for me. Really wanted to give 2.5 stars.

Went into the kalispell location today to get my mom a makeup item she had been wanting. We walked in and were told we had to have a mask (mind you this is the ONLY place in Flathead valley that has asked in two weeks at least). That’s fine though, my grandma and mom reached for their masks and I said I had medical and could not. They immediately said I could not shop and so I told my mom we will just get your item on Sephora if they wanted to do that (which is illegal). Then a gal quickly came forward and said “oh well just usher you in and out quickly to get your item and leave”. Ulta and managers... is this really how you want your company to be represented?!? Absolutely appalled and will NEVER shop here!!! Anyone with a medical condition, you’ve been warned that you will be turned away, apparently your money is not green!

Love this place. Can always find what I am looking for. Everyone is super helpful too. Subscribe to their emails. They always have little deals or free gifts for you. And maybe the occasional extra points when you buy, which makes it super worth it on the next purchase or in the long run if you choose to save them. Parking is easy. The staff is always kind of snobby so I avoid the store as much as possible. However today I attempted to go and get a few things. First off all, legally, you cannot force us to wear masks to shop at your establishment. Secondly, you should be more focused on guest services then policing masks and distancing. And if your directions are confusing, you shouldnt be rude to the customer when a mistake is made, we are all just doing our best. I walked away from 100s of dollars in product because of how rude the staff was. Super disappointed.

I love love LOVE this store. The employees are always so nice AND helpful. Ive been to other stores like this in the past, and explaining my issues and concerns, have received judgmental looks and attitudes, but never here. The girls helping me find products for my skin were not only SUPER helpful, but made me feel sooo comfortable and were so kind about making me feel less embarrassed about my skin being at such a rough state. Plus, they have always had such an amazing return policy, but right now (aug 2020) with covid and everything going on, theyve extended their return policy even more!!! If i havent sold you on the Kalispell Ulta just yet, let me just say this- ITS AMAZING!! GO THERE AND SEE FOR YOURSELF ♡♡

Very small selection when it came to mens cologne and I ran there in a hurry to find a familiar mens scent and they did not carry it. When I asked for help finding something similar I was rushed to get out because they were closing soon. Not my favorite place to shop and poor customer service skills. Staff was apparently too young to understand the value of great customer service. The four young women working were too busy trying on the tester perfumes on themshelves to pay any attention to the one and only customer looking for a specific item. This was my first time in Ulta and my last. I will not be returning!

Frankie in CliniqueI love Ulta but havent went much on the Clinique side of things. She was very knowledgeable about the products and any other ones in the store. She explained good comparisons between each brand and their skin products for me. I left feeling confident in picking out new skin products that will work plus a beautiful fall make up look. I walked in with a friend just too look around. I walked back to the salon just to get a wash and blow out. I spoke with shayna a few minutes.. ended up getting a partial highlight done to start my blonding process. She talked me out of making the mistake of doing it at home. It turned out FABULOUS! The employees on the floor were nice enough but not willing to listen and not helpful in picking out the right product for me. She arrogantly insisted the product I was looking for was another brand... which was not the case. Ultimately, I left with a product that was not the right fit for me. Employees at the Bozeman location have always been stellar in customer service and picking out the right product for my skin type and giving me options and great suggestions. This particular person could care less and seemed bothered by simple inquiries.

I went in once to purchase a gift card, the line was forever long, cashiers spent to much time socializing or trying to upsell customers. When it was my turn they wanted all of this info to be a member, I explained it was a gift card for someone for Christmas and did not need anything but the card, the cashier tried to explain it was for returns, etc...The person I was purchasing it for would never even know who it was from but cashier was pushy and kept insisting, so I just gave them the info so I could get out of the store. 35 minutes just to purchase a gift card!!!

Shelbi took me as a walk in for a cut and color and she is SO good, I have very difficult hair (thick and curly) and since I visited I love my hair! Also she quoted me a reasonable price and thats how much I paid even though it it took up more of her valuable time. I dont live in kalispell but will be going there to get my color done from now on.

Bad business practice!! I buy multiples of an item on sale, and unbeknown to me, I didn’t realize you could not exchange a defective item over 60 days!! Beware of this policy!! My brand new can of 9.99 hairspray that was on sale is now worth only .72 I was informed, when I just wanted to exchange for a working can! Make sure you try it before leaving the store!!!

I got my hair done in June, was quoted a price at the beginning which I said was fine. When I went to check out my price was $25 more than the quoted price. After mentioning the price difference I was told that it was for added on services. I said that I had not added on anything. The gal grabbed a manager to explain the misunderstanding. The manager kept saying I was charged more for adding on to my service even though I only asked for a cut and color at the beginning. The manager finally said, Well youre getting 20% for being a first time salon client so youre getting a discount. So apparently this is how they make up for the quoted price. Very disappointing customer service, extremely overpriced hair coloring especially since my hair has already faded and looks about like it did before I got it colored. Save your money ladies, this place is a joke.

I do not recommend the hair salon in Ulta.This review is solely for the salon.I do recommend shopping in the store they have a nice selection and the cashiers have always been friendly. Also Winter in the Benefit Brow Bar provides excellent service and is very pleasant! I have had my brows done there a handful of times and she has been an absolute joy.Sadly my experience in the salon portion of the store was not as wonderful. I have never taken Ulta salons seriously and went against my intuition to try this one. That was a costly mistake that resulted in me going to second salon to fix my hair. My stylist proclaimed they held a Paul Mitchell certificate. I assumed I was in good hands. She applied hair dye in such a sloppy careless manner it got all over my cheeks and forehead which caused staining. The dye turned out much darker than what I asked for. The haircut was extremely disappointing. Her lack of experience and technique were evident. She did not know how to cut bangs properly and obviously struggled so she just winged it. I could forsee it wasn’t going to be of any benefit staying longer asking for it to be corrected as she was quite flummoxed by my requests. I brought numerous photos for reference and she just did not have the skills to execute it.To top it off the back of my hair was visibly uneven. I know good salons and this was just an unjust expensive disappointment.The salon manager also putzed around too much gabbing with the employees.

Worst customer service Ive ever had. I bought a 122 dollar perfume and forgot to get the free bag with purchase. I called and asked if I could still pick it up and was told yes. The employee on the phone did not greet me or tell me her name. I went to go get the bag and it wasnt there. She didnt even bother to actually check. When I arrived to buy the perfume in the first place there was a huge line and only one cashier. Other employees were milling around stocking shelves. That doesnt make any sense. When there is a rush at your store the priority is customer service. There are many great products here, but not one goos employee around to sell them. I had a rewards account here and I will no longer purchase anything from here. Sephora deserves my business way more than this place.

Very disappointing that the salon wax’s eyebrows for the same price as the brow bar but doesn’t do any of the work the brow bar people do. The salon only wax’s when the brow bar goes above and beyond. They should not be the same price. I spent $22 on something I could have had done with my normal hair stylist for 1/2 the price. I pay the $22 to get extra not less. Will not be having them done again by Ulta unless it’s by the brow bar.

If I could give a negative star I would. I asked for a color match, this lady named Vanessa (manager) came over got me on a seat wiped of my old foundation, put on moisturizer and primer then got some clique foundation, she was very rough, jabbing at my face when blending, went over my eyebrows and smudge and wiped off all my existing eyeshadow and eye liner, then stabbed me in the eye multiple times which ruined my mascara. During this time she had to be so damn close she was rubbing her crotch on my knee. Making me very uncomfortable then made me take off everything she just did. Then when I went to go get the foundation she matched me with to try and fix the mess she just made she yelled at me and said I better be buying that because she doesnt want to damage control. Worst experience ever, thanks for nothing.

I think I’ll be ordering online from now on.I believe in quality customer service and it is severely lacking at this ulta.I have been to this Ulta location twice...both times I have been treated quite poorly.My daughter and I used a tester to put a spot of foundation on the back of her hand. In checking the consistency etc., the employee walks by and asks us if we are doing ok and makes a snide comment about whether or not we used a tester. The way she came off was beyond rude.I don’t know if the girl was the manager or not, but both times she has been very rude and acts like she is better than anyone who seems to be ‘beneath’ her.I have shopped at multiple locations as well and have always had great customer service.I love ulta stores and the wide variety of products. I have had my hair and eyebrows done at ulta stores in Washington state and the girls have done an amazing job.It’s sad to see that the Kalispell location is in such poor shape with customer service. I guess it just goes to show that make up can only hide so much.

Went in for a hair cut... The stylist cut off more then half of the length and brought it up to my shoulders when it was down to my butt before. This is not what i wanted at all I asked for a refund.
