I really wish this was a great review of a local place, where our family had a decent meal from a restaurant near where we live. However, this is exactly the opposite. Not because the food was bad, if only we had the opportunity to try all we wanted, but for the service. Our family of three entered, completed all the requirements to have a seat, and waited….and waited….and….waited. Yea, we eventually got up and left. We weren’t even greeted by a server, no water, no drinks. Just menus to see all the food available but not the opportunity to try the food, despite several servers passing us by, with what seemed not too much to occupy themselves. I’m sorry if you’re understaffed. If that is indeed the case, maybe seat only those who can be adequately served. I wish we could say that we’ll return to give it the old college try again, but I don’t think we will. Best of luck!
Food was good meat was blan. I dont blame the service all on the staff because of covid but they were slow. Probably waited longer for them to ask us if we wanted the check then we actually did to order and sit combined. The menu wasnt really helpful in what something was or had other than the name and it didnt say much.
Fish and Chips were over cooked and the Fries were Salty but crunchy.The Kalbi was welldone!Normally the food is good but maybe new cooks!
A little too open for me. Im sure theyre safe, but I chose takeout.Great garlic mashed potatoes.Loco Moco also good.Would like to see daily, or weekly specials introduced.

It only took me about five years (ha), but I finally made my way to Big City Diner with the fam, and it was worth the wait.I had Grandmas Incredible Kimchi Fried Rice, and I know that itll be very hard to find anything like it in Maryland. It was really good, and it was a heaping serving! If you get anything from here, pick this.The service was really good, and everyone was getting settled in to watch UH football while we were there.

Have tried much of the menu, & enjoyed all of it! Usual go-to is the Kimchi fried rice, but now getting into their burgers. Burger was cooked perfectly for me... far better than a lot of other restaurants.
So so. The reason for three stars is the bread pudding.If thats all they served I would give 5 stars

First time to this location. Nice lunch with a bestie. Menu doesnt have pics now and sanitizer at the door. Masks required and social distancing is followed. Food was good and so was the service. They also have an outside area if you dont like being inside

We went on new years eve about 2pm. The place was not crowded. Service was fabulous. Our server was personable and thoughtful. The food was great with one exception. My husband ordered the crab cake benedict. It was very tasty, but the plate sat on the counter for some time, under the warmer, waiting for my plate, that the yolks for the eggs ended up almost well done and not runny. They would get 4.5 starts for that, but there are no fraction ratings here. Manager checked in on the tables and all required COVID precautions were observed.

Love Big City! Waipio has the most friendly staff with awesome customer service. Its clean. They try to make the food how you need it to be. I am gluten sensitive and they actually have GF items on the menu!
The burgers are great. I had the wasabi cucumber burger that was delicious. Get the regular fries. I choose the garlic fries for an extra charge and they were gross. Other than that I’d go back for the burgers and the ranch there was amazing too.
Love my experience there food was excellent service was outstanding... Definitely will go back and have told my family and friends to go there !
Had a great Waitress. She was very attentive to our table took orders everything tasted great. I will go back again and eat breakfast there.

We were in the Waipio area and decided to have dinner at this Big City Diner. It did not disappoint. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Also, the food came out fast and delicious. I had to chose a large salad and almost finished it. It was so good, but I was stuffed. My hubby was happy because he ate his pork chops with gravy and finished my salad! The macaroni and cheese with ham was also a hit with my son. At first, he didnt want to try it with ham...but when he did, he really liked it. Now I just have to get him to like peas. Until then, they will make it without peas when requested.Great staff, wonderful meals at a reasonable cost! 👏

We just ordered some kim chee fried rice but whoever the cook was it was the most horrible kim chee rice I have eaten. The rice was so greasy with some sort of sausage oil and there was no taste of kim chee. All we saw was bits of kim chee thrown into the rice. Wasnt this rice considered one of the best?. Sure wont order this again! So disappointed! Kim chee should never be this greasy!

Price is kinda high but the food & service is really good. So I got one of there steak plates with garlic shrimp and a soda it came out around $35 oh and also had fried rice. Other then price should be drop a little everything was great. Once you order they can deliver your fast. Service was great we got checked up on like 5 times so service is great they make sure your having a good time.

Big City Diner is everything advertised. The nuance and service easily rated 5 stars. My wife and I caught a late evening meal, I had the Mushroom Burger and fries and my wife had the. Chicken Linguine Marsala and tomato basil soup. The staff were outstanding and very helpful with their suggestions. Thank you Big City Diner for a very memorable experience.
I dont go to city doner often but when i go i get superb treatment..i always sit outside and order the same thing apple pie ala mode and a pot of tea.i wish i knew the gentleman name who usually waits on me..i would luv to give him a shoutout. He doesnt over wait but hes there if you need something.

Ive eaten from Big City Diner before but never have I dined in until today! The atmosphere was friendly and the servers were pretty attentive, giving us a great experience. I recommend BCD as a great places to take the family!
