Loris Diner is a 50s inspired diner 1 block from Union Square in the heart of downtown San Francisco. The decor is fun, the staff is friendly, the food is good & the prices are reasonable. Anytime Im looking for a good burger, this is where Ill go. Best part - its open 24 hours, a rare thing in San Francisco. You can sit at the counter or one of their comfy, bright red booths. Its a good place to eat if youre looking for good, old-fashioned, American food that wont break your budget.
Wanted something to eat late at night and found Lori’s Diner as it is open 24 hours. Great menu and breakfast is served all day! Atmosphere takes you back to a 1950’s diner and the food was really good diner food. We actually went there two nights in a row as we liked it so much. Had burgers, shakes, sundaes and breakfast items during our two separate visits! Prices are reasonable for a downtown location. Would have given it five stars based on food and atmosphere, but the service was slow both visits. Definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area and not in a hurry.
Very surprising old-fashioned, all-American diner, 2 minutes walking distance from Union Square. It is open 24/7 do a great option for anyone searching for a bite at 2am. Service is friendly, prices are reasonable and the food is not bad at all.The BLT sandwich was crispy and full of taste (coleslaw was a bit tasteless) and even the nachos were good, considering this isn’t a Mexican place. The 3-eggs veggie omelette was very good and came with d sad one toasted bread, and the French toast was delicious and soaked in butter. Yummy.Bottom line: very cool place to grab something to eat, feel as if it’s 1965 just before you go back to 2020 San Francisco.Recommended!
24/7 open Diner, with a cute retro feel and loads of decor surprises, a vintage car and motorbike amongst them, I wont spoil it further. Food is what youd expect. I liked their Moon Doggie, and others praised the omelets (sic!) though when it was my turn to try one the next day, the chef must have changed.
The biscuits and gravy were amazing! We shared them and each had an eggs and ham plate. We were blown away at how quickly our food came after we ordered. Great classic diner motif makes for a fun atmosphere. It was expensive for a breakfast, but it is the city so not a huge surprise - just the one downside that keeps them from getting 5 stars.
What a cute place in the middle of the city, old fashion burger joint.The name was what got me to go in.Glad we did stop we wanted something to fill our bellies, something quick, with a clean restroom, and enjoyable environment Loris hit the spot.Good dogs, good house salad.I would return if I come back into town.
We had breakfast here twice during our 7 day stay, primarily as it was only a 2 minute stroll from our lodgings.There can be a wait for a table and actually our first attempt to eat here was aborted on a Sunday morning due to the possible long wait as the queue was out of the door and into the street.When we did eat here we can confirm service was friendly and efficient. Food wise we only tried the omelettes and we have no complaints to report.
We were out looking for a restaurant and somehow found this place one block from our resort. I normally look at reviews first but was so hungry it didnt cross my mind. When we walked in the place look like a old school burger joint. The restaurant was clean and the employees uniforms was cute in my wifes voice. So we a party of 4 looked at the menu with plenty of options decided to give it a try.. 2 of us ordered the spaghetti and meatball (Good), a vegan Garden salad however she added chicken (delicious even without the chicken) and chicken stir fry (really good). Then to it off with a caramel sundae (so good). We all enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back.
We stopped by this 50s diner for lunch and had a 20% off coupon from our time share. and spent $35 including tip, so not too pricey. The portions were huge. They make their own potato salad, which was tasty and coleslaw too... I thought about ordering dessert, but was too full after eating the California Club sandwich. My husband and I seem to eat here at least once every time were in San Francisco, and its always consistently good
Great local diner style restaurant thats open 24 hours. The food is decent, but the service can be a bit slow depending on the time you arrive.Definitely a pleasant place to grab a bite and the staff is very personable.The french toast could use some work, but overall was good while the eggs benedict was very tasty. And I wouldnt say that the corn beef hash is the best in San Francisco .
We came on Friday for their famous Clam Chowder. We paid a big amount of money for a bowl of clam chowder which was ridiculously small as you can see in the photo. If this is the bowl, then the cup must be 2 spoons of soup. Also, we didnt like the soup, no clam flavor and too watery. We had a better soup, much bigger and cheaper at the Fishermans Wharf. Weve been here years ago and it was very good, but we will not return.

We liked the typical american diner food and 50s atmosphere! Cant go wrong with Elvis playing in the background or even Richie Valens plus a substantial serving of food. The milkshakes and root beer float, try you must!we stayed opposite the diner and thought we’d pop in. Glad we did!
The breakfast Sandwich was AWESOME! The blueberries crepes a little bit sweet but had a great taste, perfect for a sugar lover!
The food is good and you get a fair amount for the cost. The place really does give off a 50s dinner vibe and is a throwback for some. That said though as other reviews have said service is hit or miss. Either you have a great time with fast service and good food or you have good food but poor service. This place is worth a visit but not if youre on a schedule.
A quintessential diner ! Even have a classic car in the dining room. I had their burger and a shake for good measure. Great atmosphere, even better food ! A must stop in my next trip !

We came and there was a line. Sunday brunch but we had a table in 5minutes. The breakfast here is straight forward. It’s hard to wrong with breakfast in terms of preparation. The service was great, prompt and attentive. If you want food that’s not fancy but simple and tasty come here. I have also been here for milkshakes, killer!
Party melt and fries were really good. The fish and chips my husband had were disappointing but adequate.
Ive been at Loris more than once and its good diner food. I go for breakfast and the corned beef hash is really good.

Lori is open 24hrs, the vibe within the diner is pretty lively with designs from the 70s and the service host are friendly. The service was good and the food came quickly. Its nothing fancy, but if you are looking to just feel your tummy and not burn a whole in your pocket its not a bad place to try. I couldnt finish the sampler I order, but it was not at all a bad indicator on their quality, american portions are just much larger than asian portions. I loved their onion rings crispy and tasty and the chicken tenders were juicy and delicious. You can consider eating one meal, to take away for another time, saving money for another meal.Just take note San Francisco is not a really safe place to walk at night, dont look too touristy and to stay safe keep your handphones in your bag.
This is one of the best diners in the city the food was definitely amazing the service was great the place has a grease rock and roll style feel to it overall I highly recommend u guys stop here

Fantastic diner centrally located with great breakfast options, great service and good portion sizes. Much better than having breakfast in the hotel!
Nostalgic atmosphere. Listen to oldies but goodies. Had the bay shrimp salad and onion rings. The salad was loaded with shrimp! Good flavor. Dressing on the side. Onion rings were plentiful. Nice subtle flavor with a perfectly cooked breading.
Had pancakes for breakfast. Service was good and really quick. Pancakes were tasty and fluffy. Very filling as well. Lots to choose from on the menu. Nice decor and atmosphere.

Retro style dinner. 60 type of decor. Nice vintage car in the back of the dinner. The BLT is very good and nice serving... the service was nice, not very much wait either.

Good service but the food isnt that fantastic. Went there and ordered burgers, chicken, fish and chips but all of them came out to be dry. Even the patty isnt juicy at all. The deco is fantastic though!

I loved it here! Great sausage and bacon fried to perfection. Coffee aint bad either. If youre really hungry go for the country breakfast. You will no longer be hungry. Staff is smiley and quick. And of course the 50 vintage chic is amazing.
Really good food with a reasonable price. The workers were really nice and helper. A huge variety of sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads.... One of the best places to take a delicious milkshake

When I am working at Macys and need to unwind after hearing hundreds of kids this is a great place to get a cool drink and great food. It is a great location and look forward to returning this next December.

For a diner and diner food it was right on. The decor and atmosphere amazing.
Great food and fast service. After we place food order, it took maybe 15 minutes. Its the basic all American breakfeast.
This place is the real deal. Not overly expensive for the location, and a delicious menu of classics in a really nice collection of throwback decor. Well worth a visit, be it breakfast pancakes to fuel a lot of walking up hills, or hot dogs and burgers and a classic shake to recover afterwards.
Fun fast food
We were walking from our hotel to a different breakfast place and actually just stumbled upon this one. Im glad we did. The food was great and the service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed. Plus the prices were really great, especially for San Francisco! (About $10/person) My son loved his smiling Mickey Mouse pancakes.
Was staying at the Drake Hotel across the street and had time for a leisurely breakfast. The french toast was pretty good and they kept my coffee cup hot and full. This place definitely ticks all the boxes for kitchy diner. You can even sit in an old convertible thats been converted into a table.

Maybe it is not the most delicious place in the town but finding a place which is 24hrs open is an amazing thing. Give a try to blue cheese burger, you wont regret. Overall friendly staff and delicious food.

A great piece of Americana, right in the centre of San Francisco.The decor is everything you expect from a 1950s diner, as youve seen them in the movies.Service is good, attentive and polite, and the food is pretty good, in a diner-ish kind of way.The price is - well, its OK for a tourist attraction, not so great for just lunch, lets put it that way.
