Dropped off parts for repair with plenty of time to compete repairs. Work not taken as priority and nothing completed. Took parts to a competitor and received excellent service, outstanding work and a quick turnaround.

Complained about the level of service I was getting and they said to come and collect my stuff because they did not want to do any more work for me. They are good engineers but do not keep the customer informed and are basically too busy to give good service. They either need to expand or increase their prices so that they can give better service. I was expecting them to ask me what that could do to make me happy, instead they told me to f**k off !

Really people don’t waste your money and time “DO NOT GO”to these place they supposed to replace valves, we brought our own valves and seals and yo can look at the pictures these are the same valves, and wen I confronted the owner he get mad and star raising the voice arguing about the brand of the valves, and I give one star just because is no 0 stars or -1000 stars we pay what they ask which is a lot, because we were looking for a good job and guest what we get also we get a problem with one of the cam shaft because they don’t rotate them, which is a lot unprofessional I hope they replace the seals at least

I just had a crankshaft ground by these folks to correct a problem created by another shop. There were two ways to possibly fix the problem, one was to grind off another 0.011, the other was to attempt to take off only 0.001 (often not possible). I was so pleased they could do the second and save me the cost of another bearing set. Good folks to work with. Work was done in less time and cost than they predicted, in under 10 days and $30 less than the original estimate. Im very pleased with their service.

A friend recommended this place for servicing the brakes on my car. After doing a quick review of the online comments (mixed) from prior customers then a drive by the location, I just couldnt take a chance with something as important as my brakes. The location really is run down, cluttered and didnt seem professional. Had to pass ...

The shop completed a cam phaser lockout on my 5.4L F150. Its an excellent fix to a common problem with those engines that hardly anyone does. My engine hasnt ran this quiet and smooth since I drove it off the Ford lot. A++

A year and a half ago, I had my engine rebuilt by Clay County Engine Rebuilders. It took them two months to get the rebuild done, which I tolerated. Then last week, my engine started leaking oil. I had it looked at by a trustworthy mechanic and they said the seal on it was very cheap quality. So do yourself a favor and find someone else to do your engine rebuild. Itll save you a lot of time and money.

The owners are nice people but they rely too much on guess work. I am mechanical but by no means a mechanic and Ive fixed things on my car they said they couldnt plus they replace stuff that isnt bad and they replace it with junk parts/repairs. Like I said, nice people but unless you want your car to constantly go back for the same problem you should probably stay away.

Clay County Engine Rebuilders, K&L Machine Shop, Fast Lane Engines, Rays Automotive = all names for the same business located at 46 NE Munger Road in Claycomo, Missouri. If the name of the business has to be changed that many times, you know something isnt kosher. If you want quality, knowledgeable-well trained staff and a job done right the first time, go anywhere but this place. The knuckleheads who try to operate this relic of the past are remnants of the 70s and 80s when vehicles were much less complicated and consumers were less knowledgeable.1. Call the business and listen to how they answer the phone. Holy Moly be prepared for something close to - HELLO, what do you want?2. Ask any standard question about the work you want or need on your vehicle? Hmmmm...not sure, probably, wont know for sure until you bring it in.3. Ask about any guarantees they have on their work and if they give refunds if you are completely dissatisfied with the work they perform? Hmmmm....it depends. (aka not a chance in Hades - we are desperate for customers and money...gotsta pay the light bill.)4. How long have the few employees they have been working there?Hold on let me check. (Pause - Placed on hold) Well we have 4 and together our tenure is several months - which is a record for us!5. Finally, look at the pictures of the place on various internet sites.A picture is worth a thousand words.Conclusion.....Clay County Engine Rebuilders - no, nope, nah, uh-uh, no-way, out of the question, not on your Nelly, not for all the tea in China, when pigs fly, fat chance
