Miracle workers! My son spilled a cup of apple juice on my brand new HP laptop. A day later I finally get it to them and they were able to completely clean it up and get it working again. I am an IT professional myself and ran across a hardware issue thats a little different then normal. I had some bent pins on my motherboard. Since Id been in the shop before, I gave them a call. I went in with a broken motherboard and walked out shortly thereafter with a fully fixed part. Do I recommend bending the pins on your motherboard? No I do not. Do I recommend Bits & Bytes for computer hardware service and repair? That is a 100% yes.

So before I get into this, let me preface my review. I would consider myself pretty tech savvy but nothing like anyone who builds pcs and works on them. I can change components out, add remove hardware and software, so like an intermediate computer guy. The reason I needed to preface this is because today I ran into a snag and i called Bits and Bytes. Spoke to Derrick. Awesome guy, very straightforward about what could be going on with my pc. come to find out that I needed a new graphics card and power supply. I had already known this since yesterday.I go in to pick up the parts, come home and install them. Install was easy. The system was still acting up. I took my workstation to them and in about 15 mins, Derrick diagnosed it, figured out what to do and got it done.Very cost efficient, great products, great people. If you are on the west side of Houston and have a computer and dont have their information, you are missing out. Definitely my new go to place for anything related to computers.

Turns out, my laptop was able to be fixed with the click of a button. And instead of trying to take my money, he was honest and showed me what to press in 30 seconds at no charge. No bs, very honest

My sons computer suddenly stopped working and I took it to the Katy - Mason Rd location. Though I had to leave it with them, they quickly accessed the problem and fixed it for a reasonable price. These guys always come thru! They are keeping my 10 year old laptop alive and working...and instead of a 2 week turn-around like Best Buy - - they fixed me up in 2 days!! Ive brought all my kids computers here as well, and they even checked out my sons homemade computer for free!

I had a couple of hard drives that needed to be checked for functionality, and these guys not only tested them but showed me the data on the monitor that was available instead of just telling me. The guys were very professional and answered my questions with patience, something difficult to find among computer nerds (no offense intended...Im one of you!) that tend to look down on those without what they would consider basic knowledge. Id never been to their store before, but Ill certainly come back with any future computer needs.

Went here to get my Razer pro 17 fixed, but ended up walking out with the same issue. This isnt bad news. The gentleman helping me out gave me a lot of insights of what the cost is going to be based on the brand of laptop I had and suggested for me to do other things to insure that Im not losing too much money. This place is great even if you decide not it get it fixed there. Their knowledge and expertise alone can save you money.

Hurts me to publicly display my distrust for this shop but they like to play games. Honestly youre 3x better off going to another computer shop. They sold me an overpriced and broken Gpu under the blanket of store warranty in case anything goes wrong. Well the card didnt carry out work load for more than a week and suddenly its all my problem? Honestly youtube can help you more than these guys. They are good for installing windows and lying to you.

My goal is simple but important to my task. I want to give Bits and Bytes the best review it has ever received.Like many, if my computer goes out or develop problems, I might as well be watching re-runs of the Dobie Gillis show. I need a functional computer every day and extending into the night most often.This week, I took my computer to Bits and Bytes fearing the worst. I PRE-AUTHORIZED: 1.) the basic service charge; 2.) hard-drive replacement, and 3.) retrieval and transfer of all data files.I genuinely expected the most expensive solution, but because of my past experience and the need to have my computer back in operation before the weekend, I authorized whatever needed to be done.The call came to me at about 2:45 that my computer was ready and it did not need the draconian solutions, thus the basic service charge. Had Bits and Bytes told me that it took several hundred dollars to get me back in operation; I would have gladly paid it; and, never been the wiser.Honesty is what people in the service industry do when they are dealing with a technical idiot like me. They own me within a wide parameter.Bits and Bytes solved my problem; did NOT take advantage of my area of stupidity.If they will do that for me me; and I am confident they will do that for you.

Bits & Bytes repaired an HP printer that failed in about 2009. The printer worked wonderfully when I received it and it still works today. That experience left a very good impression.This past week I took a computer for repair that had dropped and broken the palm pad connection to the hinge. As the fairly new Dell was opened, the reaction forces led to the palm pad separating from the main chassis, and it would only be a matter of time until this became worse. Based on the prior experience I took it to Bites & Bytes for repair. They explained the risks associated with the repair, the probability that they will be able to get repairs, what could possibly go wrong, their fees etc. It was clear they understand their business. They said it could take up to 5 working days to repair it, but it all depends what they find.I dropped the computer off on Saturday. On Monday when they could start the repair, they called with an update that provided details on the parts required, they ordered the parts and I collected the computer on Thursday evening, a day earlier then they suggested. When I picked the computer up, it was like a brand new machine and you would never know that it had been repaired.The cost was very reasonable and like my last experience, there is really no reason to go elsewhere. These guys know their business and I would recommend anyone to go there for support. They are simply outstanding!

Impressed from the moment I called the store! I wanted turn around time, they stated 1 day if no parts were needed and up to 3 if parts were needed. I arrive an was told I would have an answer within 1 1/2 hours. I was told cost would be $150 max labor. I received the call within the time period that the computer was complete and only cost $ 65.00. As I said very impressed!

So I was having trouble with an electrical component in the headlight of my vehicle. I went into Bits and Bytes to see if the guys there had any ideas of what could be wrong, as far as the circuit board in my headlight housing goes, and we ended up taking it all apart and fixing it!! Dropped my laptop off Friday, someone called me today and told me all new information compared to what I was told on Friday. More money. Longer wait. Issues I didn’t even ask to be tested! Long story short, DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. They scammed me and there’s no telling how many others. They tried to get me to pay hundreds of dollars to fix issues with my hard drive that are PERFECTLY fine after running my own diagnostics test at home. I didn’t even bring my laptop off to be tested for anything... just to fix a broken key. The guy told me they run a diagnostic test on ALL laptops and unfortunately they charge you for it without your consent. Thankfully because I don’t put up with nonsense and refused to pay ANYTHING to get my still broken laptop back... I walked out with the manager letting the $30 fee go because they had no proof or documentation I agreed/signed to let them do what they did. I wonder what’s going to actually mess up on my laptop now since they’ve messed around on it.

Needed a part soldered on for my salt water pool circuit board, did not know if they would do this for me, but they said they did. I had the part they needed; a little over a hour later they called to let me know it was ready. Put all the connections back on the board, started it up to see if it fixed my problem, It worked!!! Saved myself a lot of money! I would highly recommend these guys, very nice and pleasant to work with!

These guys are honest. I took my kids Xbox for them to fix power issues and after a couple of hours they returned it back to me and told me nothing was wrong with it. I was told to reduce the amount of items plugged with it and they charged me $0.0. I did what they said and the Xbox is working great! I will highly recommend them in todays world.

Took my laptop to B&B because hardware in charging port was loose. Diagnosed and “fixed” by B&B, 2 months later with little use, same issue. Took laptop back to B&B because there is a warranty but front desk person was quick to let me know that the warranty does not cover the issue because “ it has been 2 months and something physical had happened to the laptop”, the implication being that I must have damaged the port myself as opposed to any workmanship issues with B&B. Lesson learnt, certain issues just need to be resolved by the big box stores. Thought I would support a local small business but the result can be less than pleasant.

I have an old laptop that I have damaged USB ports. I made do with what I had, until the power cord wouldnt stay in place. That is when I decided to take it in. The guy behind the counter was polite, and tried to explain everything they wanted to do, deep cleaning, diagnostics, etc.. I just wanted the ports changed out. I got a call the next day, they worked quickly on identifying the problem, with the bad news that it would be cheaper to replace the laptop than to repair it, as it also had a hard drive that was on the verge of failing. I told the guy to stop all work, and that I would be in the next day to discuss. I asked for a breakdown of what each Fix power port, USB ports, HDD, and what they had on hand for a replacement laptop. I never could get a breakdown, as if that was classified data, and the replacement laptops they had on hand were no better than what I was trying to have fixed. The HDD was actually out of the laptop when I walked in. These guys didnt do anything wrong, but I got the feeling that they really didnt want to answer questions. I havent decided if Ill ever go back or not.

They saved me!I took my flash drive in to Bits & Bytes when I accidently bent it while it was in my laptop. As a writer, I work off my flashdrive since I never know where Ill be when I want to write something down. I do back it up weekly (new stuff) and had just made a full backup to another flash drive the month before but it turned out to be corrupt, so I was panicking. I took the bent drive, although with a new blank one, on a Thursday afternoon on the way home from work, about 5:30pm. They told me theyd call me when (and if) anything could be salvaged. I got a call the very next day around 3pm. They saved everything!Not only were they fast but thorough. They saved me tons of time and rewrites.Thanks to the guys there. I will continue to use them always.

Worst experience possible with a store in the 33 years I have spent in Houston. No diagnosis of the problem and was charged $162.38 anyway. Disputed the charge with American Express, complained to the Better Business Bureau and Im also talking to my attorney. Will blast the people at Best Buy for recommending this place and will post on this site until the problem is resolved. More details later.

My laptop wouldn’t turn on I was in a jam as I had a flight leaving town in a few hours! I was referred to Bits & Bytes. I showed up with my dilema and the staff was very helpful and understanding. They detected the issue was the power button which needed to be replaced. They ordered the parts and made the repairs within a few days. I was very happy with their overall knowledge, and customer service, plus their pricing was very fair compared to other businesses. I highly recommend this business for your PC needs!

Couldnt solve a simple task, came in because my computer wouldnt turn on, had to keep it in there shop for a week until I got a answer saying my motherboard was dead and I had to replace it with a new one that will cost 300$ So I ended up going to another computer shop and they told me it was only a power supply that will only cost 50$, B&B is a BIG SCAM trying trick me into buying a new motherboard so that they can keep my gaming motherboard and probably end up throwing in a use Powersupply so they can make a big profit nice try Im never doing business with them again. Go somewhere else before they scam you too!!!!
