We are renting 2 Cellos at this shop for our daughters. It has been two years. Very Good quality and Very good Value. People are very professional there, always responses quickly. Customer service/Front desk ladies are so friendly and knowledgeable. Such great personality! We also have a great great private teacher there. (Yes, I knew I used two times great). We love to go to this shop even we are not living in Katy. Never disappoint. Highly recommended, I would give them 5 star plus!

We were so impressed with this violin shop. They took the time to answer our questions. We bought a used instrument and they took well care of the instrument before we left. They were clear about pricing and made sure that our daughter had everything we needed before we left. I would recommend this violin shop to anyone! And honestly we had been to other shops and they barely gave us any time, so this was a pleasant experience with our daughter excited for her new instrument.

We rented viola recently for my son from Katy Violin Shop upon recommendation from my friend. The staff is very helpful, professional, and friendly. The condition of the viola is very good, even though we just rent a basic viola since my son is a beginner. The rental rate is very affordable. When my sons viola teacher recommended another type of chin rest to better accommodate my sons small chin, the staff at Katy Violin Shop was very obliging and changed out the chin rest for us immediately. They even provided us with chin chum to help cushion my sons chin. I would highly recommended Katy Violin Shop to anybody who is looking to rent any string instruments.

Ive been taking lessons here. The ladies in the front are very friendly, and they have a large variety of orchestral books from Bach to Thumb Position books. They also have very reasonably priced tuners/rosin/mutes and a lot of high-quality cellos.

We rent our sons cello from Katy Violin even though we live in Pasadena!I looked for another option after overpaying to rent from the competition. Our sons school uses Katy Violin so we went there and Im glad we did. Katy Violin has the best pricing, they gave us a cello thats in very good condition and their service is above average. Excellent and top-notch service but very low price. It was my first time to visit this shop to have my sons violin fixed (I usually go to the Leslie Violin shop Katy location, but because of Christmas eve, there was no luthier on duty), and I was very impressed. The in-house luthier, Mr. Salgado, did an excellent job to remove the string buzz noise and have a very good cleaning of the violin. I was also so surprised that Frank, the shop owner, charged me so little. Highly recommend!BTW, now my son is very happy with his violin, he claims it sounds much better than before.

Before coming to Katy violin shop my family and I visited two other well known instrument stores and walked out feeling confused, overwhelmed, and disregarded. We’ve been coming to KVS for two years now and we always walk out feeling like we’re getting our moneys worth and then some. The shop is always neat and organized, the associates are always patient and thorough, and the used instruments are as good as new! It’s quite a drive for us but honestly the impeccable customer service is what keeps us coming back! No matter what we come in for or which associate we see we always get treated with genuine care. These guys are a gem and I would deff recommend them for all of your musical needs.

HIGHEST-QUALITY, HONEST PROFESSIONAL STAFF! Frank was incredibly patient, honest, and helpful. We crossed town to try their Eastman violas, which we could not find in the shops close to our home. While at Katy Violin shop, Frank pulled out the various Eastman models for us to try, and also suggested other models based on what we said about the type of sound we liked.We ended up falling in love with a Ming Jiang Zhu 909. We tried about 9 violas all together, and Frank happily and kindly swapped out various models, lent us an additional shoulder guard, and even switched strings for us to eliminate the various variables while chosing the best viola. Our daughter preferred a certain brand of strings and we wanted to be sure when selecting an expensive viola ($3k+) that we were not just paying for fancy strings!Having tried several other (5 to be exact) viola/violin shops in Spring/Woodlands/Katy area, we noticed a big difference in quality of Instruments and accessories available at the Katy Violin Shop. We found other stores were pushing their own label, lower-end models, at prices that could buy you a quality name-brand model made by skilled masters from around the world. Thankfully, we visited the Katy Shop before being stuck with a student-level model sold to us as an advanced instrument by another shop.What I respected the most about Frank and this shop, was the level of professionalism. They did not try to take advantage of parents who might be ignorant about the instrument world. Frank had binders with pictures and prices for both instruments and strings of various models and price ranges. His computer system also had a big color monitor that he could show us with various info for us to be informed during the whole process. I include this details because most other stores had monochrome screens that only store staff could look at and the prices and model info were merely known to store staff and customers had to just trust these things to be true. Yes, we had bad experience elsewhere, which is why we were willing to cross town to see what else was out there.To be honest, we had not intended to buy an instrument from this store. We were planning on trying Instruments from several stores and then buying cheaper online. However, Frank made the experience so easy, pleasant and informed us of his reasons and recommendations every step of the way. We felt great about making our purchase here and supporting this great store. We are so happy to have found Katy Violin Shop. Thanks Frank! We will definitely be back! 😄
