My husband researched long and hard to find the best peddle kayak. He landed on BKC as the best and most affordable. We ordered one pk13 to see how he liked it. It came quickly, he loved it and we ordered a smaller one for me. In the meantime, I tried his out and knew I wanted the longer pk13. I sent in a text and immediately they helped me cancel my order and replaced it with the pk13, no questions asked, no restocking fees.We LOVE our kayaks. There have been a couple of things we didn’t understand so I’ve emailed Walter at BKC and gotten a response in less than an hour. He might ask for a picture or a specific question about our kayaks and has helped us every time!We get questions about our peddle kayaks quite often and we always tell our happy story. We hope this review helps anyone looking for a new kayak.

Purchased the PK 14 tandem pedal kayak for my son and I. We Love it! So far weve used it to battle the waves and current of the Ohio River and enjoyed a relaxing tour of Timber Ridge Lake in Southeast Ohio. This rig turns any water way into your own personal bike trail! I wish there was a dealership within driving distance of me. Shipping something this huge was a headache but good customer service got me taken care of. The pk14 is large and in charge as far as kayaks go. Its perfectly reasonable to buy a trailer for it!

UPDATE: Oct 28, 2021As of today we have two complete kayaks. This started near the end of July and it’s definitely been one of my most frustrating purchases but I love our kayaks and in the end, I guess it was worth the wait. Kayaks are very sturdy which at our age is a plus. Word of advice to BKC: Answer customer calls. You didn’t even return my calls though I left several messages. Also, quality control. Make sure the kayak you ship has all of the correct parts. You sell a great product but I’m afraid your customer service or lack of, will be the undoing of your company. Customer service is #1. Thanks Walter, the rep that actually emailed and worked on our issues.Purchased two kayaks from this company thru Amazon. First came with no seat. Second came with wrong seat. This started in July. I emailed multiple times to someone named Walter who made promise after promise to send seats. Almost in October, still no seats. Now I’m getting no response from emails. Forget calling their phone number because you cannot speak to an actual live person. They promise to call back in 24-48 hours. I’ve yet to hear back from multiple phone calls. Worst customer service ever. I will be reporting this company to the NJ Attorney General. BUYER BEWARE.

Do not judge the company like I did based on the shipping company. Took a couple months of waiting for the kayak and got extremely irritated. When BKC followed up with the shipping company they were told the kayak was delivered. Upon following up once more, the shipping company said they lost it. Isaac, the owner, changed shipping companies and we got our kayak 2 weeks later. For the price the PK11 is awesome, its compact yet still holds a 190lb man just fine. I take it out on the Chesapeake bay for fishing and have zero issues with flooding or balance. I do a lot of standing and it holds up to wake and rough salt water perfectly. The rod holders are awesome because of the depth....no chance the rod is coming out. The pedal drive is smooth and extremely durable. I hit a wave break at full speed and I lost a little paint on the skeg...suffice it to say I was scared to look. Also, if you need replacement parts message Isaac, he is really good at responding especially on Facebook. Ramble aside here are some pictures!

Bought the BKC TK219 12.2 Tandem Fishing Kayak and have had many very fun outings with my wife on local lakes. The kayak is built well, and has held up to the abuse of Arizona heat in the summer. For the price, I don’t think you can go wrong!

Really happy with my kayak. I bought the BKC PK12 with trolling motor. The trolling motor is great! It’s pretty quick. Surpassed my expectations. I really liked the rudder to. Makes fishing so much easier. The seat is so comfortable. Fished for about 4 hours and no back pain at all. The boat is also a great fit. I’m 6’ 4” and I don’t put the seat all the way back. And yes, shipping takes a long time. But honestly, it’s not like they hide the fact. They state everywhere that lead times are long. It came within the window they stated.

Purchased BK122 in Feb 2021, have used for 8 months in TN lakes, AL & FL Gulf of Mexico coast.Positives - plenty large enough for 2 plus fishing gear. Light enough to load into truck bed by self and pull through muck to reach water. Stable to stand and fish, have been in 1 foot seas and felt safe. Seats are comfortable for 3 hours and adjust to help tired backs. Rear rod holders are great. Overall, have been very happy with purchase and use.Improvements - Width of front seat legs is smaller than molded seat holder. Had to rig extension to the seat leg to prevent it from slipping between the mounting areas. Pouches in dry storage slip off mounting lip, could be more secure. Dry storage is not dry, gets damp. Forward rod holders split difference between front and back riders but are not comfortable for either, too far back for front rider, too far forward for rear rider. Several screws have come out, they are wide pitched type for direct plastic mounting, difficult to replace, Ive used nut/bolt fix if I can reach inside point. Everything except the seat is being picky.

Horrible rating on BBB.org same for shipping company AM trucking F rating. Save your self the head ache and the hassle of a Chinese reseller of kayaks at a premium price.The will not show up. You will be left with hours of phones calls getting the run around. I was a customer of theirs.

Absolutely horrific customer service. Worst shopping experience of my 52 years. I ordered two kayaks in April and to date have received one so badly damaged it will never float. I requested a replacement for that one and still nothing. Who knows where the other one is. I have wasted much of my life calling and emailing them and have only gotten vague responses like”it’s in transit”. This company is a joke. The kayak might be the greatest one ever built but who knows, after 6 months I still haven’t seen it. For the same amount of money I could have purchased an entire fleet from Walmart and had fun all summer instead of waiting and hoping. Spend your money elsewhere.

I ordered a pedal kayak and y have to wait 12 week and when I delivered my kayak it was damaged the handles was damaged and the lids from the store was damaged too. I call the costume service and is really poor nobody answered the phone and I really disappointed with the company I refused the delivery and I canceled my order i don’t want nothing to do with this company ever again

I bought a BKC PK11 Angler 10.5-foot Sit On Top Solo Fishing and for the most part was really happy with it. I got some great fishing in it. My only issue is with the design of the rudder, it makes it difficult to move without wheels or 2 people and in shallow water it digs in. I would suggest you move the rudder up into the hull more to eliminate this problem. Otherwise this was a great buy for me.

We ordered 2 tandem kayaks for fishing around April 1st 2021. We received our Yaks by Mid May which is in line with what we were told. The kayaks arrived with everything except 2 of 4 seats which were explained as on back order and in shipment to them. We are satisfied with what we ordered. Good quality. 👍

UPDATE: received my kayak, which is perfect for my use. It’s lightweight, stable and glides easily over the water and responds well to turns. Love the storage capacity and weight limit.One storage compartment was cracked in shipment I assume; BKC responded quickly to my inquiry and ordered a replacement that same day… however, I had to wait for shipment of this for many weeks, but really was a minor inconvenience.BK did make my inconvenience worthwhile and compensated me with a wheel trolley which as it turns out I can hardly live without in order to access some water spots.In all, happy with BK itself and the kayak; Just have some shipping issues that hopefully resolve after all this pandemic “mishygashy”.————————————Look elsewhere if you want to get in the water this year… 8 weeks to process my order (which I somewhat expected), but 5 weeks — and counting — for shipping and delivery.Apparently confusion between BK and their delivery company (AM Freight). Spent around 3 hours on hold on two separate calls with AM Freight on scheduling and they still cannot tell me when it will be delivered.I’ll update my review after I get the kayak… whenever that happens. 🤨

I had ordered a Kayak on April 10, 2021 and BKC put a note saying it would take 6-8 weeks to prepare with 2-3 weeks for shipping. Though it did take 19 weeks to finally get here, I am glad I waited patiently to get a high quality Kayak! BKC is having trouble with their shipping carrier and I believe they are probably backed up in the customer service, so you may have trouble receiving the prompt response you would expect. Looking forward to getting out on the water.

I go almost anywhere there’s water, from 5 miles out off the coast of Fort Lauderdale to the tiny streams, rivers, and canals.I use it to free dive for lobster, take my pup for a nice ride, fish, or, oh yeah, simply paddle around the clear blue waters of south Florida.

Giving a cumulative score of 2 stars:0 stars for shipping experience; worst shipping experience I’ve ever had. Too many 3rd party shipping companies caused over 10 weeks in delays (on top of the extremely long delay), missing pieces.5 stars for quality of kayak; we absolutely love our kayaks. We have the RA220 and PK, work great, absolutely awesome on the River and so well built.2 stars for customer service; Isaac and other affiliates did a sub-par job at tracking my kayak and providing answers during this incredibly long delay and have yet to provide a monetary reimbursement as he promised. They were very responsive via email, just did not give any clear answers and passed the buck and blame to the shipping companies (that they choose to use day in and day out).I will not purchase from them again, but thankful I finally received our great kayaks that I believe we will have for years to come.

Bought 2 kayaks this spring. They have been durable and seem to maneuver as they should. We have had a lot of great hours on the water and expect many more! With that said, these kayaks took 6 months to arrive, with my wifes having the wrong seat and paddles snapped first and second time out. After contacting BKC they were replaced in a reasonable amount of time.The latest problem is with the storage compartment on the front of my kayak... the lift handle must have been brittle plastic as it chipped off and the lock and opening mechanism flew apart and was lost in the water. can these be replaced under warranty?one other problem that I see is the rudder will not remain in place when trailering. Should be able to lock in place.I cannot say that I am 100% satisfied but believe that the folks at BKC are doing the best that they can!

I did a lot of research and decided to order the RA220 for my first fishing kayak from Brooklyn in October 2020. At the time most manufacturers had delays and Brooklyn was up front about them. I received my kayak in about 7 weeks which aligned with expectations. I took it out in late November, quite late in the season in Illinois, and was very pleased with the handling and design. So pleased that I ordered the TK122 tandem so I could go out with my kids.Unfortunately, after the weather turned in the spring I noticed a major defect on the bottom of the kayak. I contacted Brooklyn and they sent me a replacement that I received within a month.Ive taken both kayaks out about a dozen times in total by myself and with the family. Weve been able to squeeze 3 people on the tandem. Both handle well. Both hold my fishing gear well.I am able to stand in the RA220, but not comfortably enough to feel safe fishing while standing. Overall I really like the design. The rudder is helpful, as is the slot for fish finder.The TK122 has a serious design issue in that the rod holders are in a spot where if you are trolling, the front person will hit the rods while paddling. I had been concerned about this when ordering, but saw no complaints in the reviews.Overall Im very happy. The design issue and the quality control to have a major hull defect and some small parts missing (D-rings missing from the TK122) make it so I cant give 5 stars.But the service received when I reported the issue and the fact Ive caught more fish on these kayaks this year already than I caught all 2020 from the shore make me very happy with my BKC kayaks! Very pleased and highly recommend Brooklyn Kayak Company.

(Updated) Lack in communication, poor customer service.24 days in and the only answer i received was that AM Tracking has not received the kayak and to contact Brooklyn Kayaks management through a number they provided to me. So i did and the answer they gave me is the kayaks were being unloaded from a container the same day and my tracking would be updated the same day, i gave it 4 more days nothing changed so i canceled my order. You guys are very unprofessional when it comes to communication with the telephone and email, never once was i able to contact you guys by phone or email because no one ever answered, returned my call or even returned my emails. For anyone looking to purchase a kayak i suggest avoiding this company. (If this truly is the owner responding to google reviews maybe your face value is worth more than your customer service, you might want to re-think your priorities.)

From ordering through delivery BKC did a terrific job, though I’m sorry for the people who’ve had bad experiences. I ordered two tandem sit-on-top kayaks (well in advance of summer because the website indicated there’d be delays). They arrived in mint condition - wrapped with care and the delivery guys were excellent. I’m originally from NZ and we’re fussy about good kayaks, and these are excellent. My family especially loves the seats and compartments for storing IDs/phones/lunch. We’ve had no issues with the oars. Our family of four took the kayaks out several times over the summer, and look forward to hitting the water again next season.

This company really impressed me! We had a mix up with the kayak that was delivered and we ended up getting one of their associates, Nick S., to really rectify the situation. I will say the initial wait of 12 weeks just for the wrong kayak to be delivered was frustrating but Nick really did go above and beyond to make sure we were happy and satisfied. If you give them the chance, their customer service is really impressive!!! Thanks for the help and my family is really looking forward to taking out the kayak!

We are overall pleased with our experience with BKC. Our kayak took a while to get here and when it did there was some damage to some of the accessories, done buy the shipping company of course. 🙄 But BKC customer service made it all right after two attempts. Im blaming that on miscommunication through email. We absolutely love our 14ft Tandem Pedal kayak though. It has been in the water in 6 states now and never let us down. It pedals well with little effort and will move along quickly if youre willing to sweat a little. 😅

Reading through the reviews, a lot of people posted bad reviews because of the amount of time it is taking to get their order. This is a bit unfair, the pandemic has wrecked havoc for many supply chains. Look at the status of outdoor products in general (kayaks, fishing gear, fish finders, etc...) It is all back ordered. Like everyone else I had to wait a couple months to get my kayak but it was worth the wait.I love my BKC kayak! it is well made and very well equipped for fishing. And priced much lower than comparable kayaks. Anyone seeing it out there points at it or comments about how good it looks. It is super stable and tracks fairly well. Customer service has been great too.

I made an order for kayaks and I made a mistake. When kayaks arrived I realized they werent the correct ones. I got the kayak I wanted delivered, and I love it. Cant wait to put a trolling motor on it. Theres a few stripped screws and cracks on some of the parts, but I can make repairs as needed. The delivery truckers took a while to pick up the return kayaks, and I had to pay $200 for restocking fee, but thats my own fault. They said Ill have to wait until they get them back to the warehouse and inspect them before processing my $1250 refund.

Just ordered our Third Brooklyn Kayak on June 16th 2021, Will keep you posted when it shows up. Guaranteed to be worth the wait. I can not say enough about these Kayaks and the customer service you get. Will update some new photos too. UPDATE, AM Trucking called and said they are delivering our third kayak on June 30th 2021. That was fast, only two weeks. UPDATE, The built in cup holder are awesome, the new version of the TK122 is an amazing upgrade. I will not need the RAM product cup holder we use on our other two Kayaks.

One of the worse customer services I have ever dealt with, no follow up on shipping and when my kayak was shipped, there was no seat. I emailed them and they said it was suppose to have one. So this took another extra month just to get the seat. I bought my kayak in early January, knowing that it could take as long as three months to get, which was fine, since I live in S.D. Between the shipping delay and no seat I finally got to use my kayak in late May. They are a bunch of liars. I was suppose to get a free accessory and guess what I never received it. I wouldnt recommend this company to anyone.I would have giving them zero stars, but I couldnt do that.

Had this Kayak about a week now and I just cant get off the lake. I have the PK 13 pedal drive and this vessel is a beast. I brought my son and my wife with me and there was plenty of room and stability for us to stay out for hours. Fishing is also a breeze and the pedal drive and rudder system allows me to manuever around tight spaces very efficiently. Love my Brooklyn Kayak and going to pick up one more for my Father in law.

Im not one to leave bad reviews... but today is day 148 since Brooklyn Kayak took my money and still no kayak. Ive been told we are shipping it out now, it will be 3 weeks three times. This last time I was even promised a tracking number via email but 8 days and counting without that tracking number.... on the plus side I havent had to argue with my wife all summer about going fishing too much. Maybe BKC is just an unorthodox but overpriced marriage counselor.Will update after kayak arrives.Update:On day 168 the delivery company shows up. Drops the kayak from waist height on the concrete floor of my garage. Brooklyn offered a free cooler as an add-on as a remedy for the long wait time and poor customer service. Is the cooler with the kayak? No. Sign for the order or we take it back One last Middle Finger from a comapany(and family) that does not care.

Really like my RA 220, being rather advanced in age I decided to trailer itrather than on top of the car. It handles very nicely and it quite easy toaccessorize. The central scupper hole works nicely for my fish finder.

I cant enough good things about my RA220 kayak. It is a little heavier than a sit in kayak, but does fits on top of my VW Atlas without a problem. On the water it tracks perfectly, and the seat is very comfortable. I have gone 3 hours on it without having to adjust or take a stretch break. The rudder is useful too and helps a lot when coming into shore at an odd angle. Lots of room for gear and very customizable. I ended up adding gear mounts, a fishfinder, a few rod holders, and an anchor trolly without having to drill any holes. It seems like almost all of the negative reviews are because of shipping delays. Maybe I was lucky, but it only took about 2 1/2 weeks to get mine. I planned accordingly and ordered my at the end of January so I could have it to start trout season in April. It came much earlier and I had to admire it in the shed until the ice melted. BKC also has distributors across the country so if its easier to pick it up from one then you dont have to wait.

Sorry in advance for the wordy review. I have to question why on their site the reviews are strictly 5’s with a few 4’s thrown in. Not so with the Google reviews where there are plenty of 1’s. Not to mention, my review has not been posted on their site as of this time.SHIPPING: I had to travel 100 miles one way in order to get my Kayak. That was the closest their “trusted” shipping company would deliver it to. The truck I had to use gets 14 mpg, at $3 gal. You do the math.MAINTENANCE: I’m still not sure about this one. If you follow their recommended maintenance, you are to spray a recommended UV fabric protectant to the seat, pulleys, ropes/cables and bungee. The problem here is the recommended protectant is harmful to rubber, plastics, vinyl etc…. I’m not sure if this will cause any damage to the hull and plastic parts or not. Time will tell.They also state that you should go through all screws after receiving the Kayak to make sure they are tight. I have found that many of the screws will simply not hand tighten, especially the ones on the hatch covers. Again, time will tell how much of a problem this will be.THE HULL: One thing that I noticed and hope will not be a problem in the long haul is the rough edges to the “seam” inside the scupper holes. I am hoping that these are in fact not truly seams. The specs do say that the hull is single piece, though I’m not sure what that means.THE HULL Part two: The hull does a great job in cutting a nice strait path and is very stable. I enjoyed a day of paddling this thing! Great design! Can’t wait to take her out again.THE PADDLE: I guess I can’t complain too much seeing as it is included in the price, but…. The Paddle is pretty short. I will be buying one very soon to replace it. Also, the drip rings do not fit snuggly to the shaft. They are pretty much useless.CUSTOMER SUPPORT: These guys are good. Every time I’ve had any questions, and I’ve had quite a few, they have gotten back to me very quickly. Nice job!One would think that BKC would like to get the free advertising from the decals on the sides of the kayak. Well, mine are falling off.

5 Stars to BKC. I had a very minor issue with my kayak from them and reached out to inquire about replacement parts, ordering options, etc. on a Sunday night via email. By Monday morning (on Columbus Day Monday) I had an email from Carleigh apologizing for the issue and inquiring further to help assess options. A few emails later and by the end of the day, I had a confirmation email from her that a replacement part was on its way. No cost, no headaches and no problems. Just an exceptional experience for a very odd issue that even Carleigh said she had never heard of before. Thanks Carleigh and the whole BKC team!

What a fantastic company!We ordered a tandem and a single kayak with pedals. The tandem kayak arrived and we couldnt wait to get it in the water - and it did not disappoint! The pedals are a game-changer! We had so much fun exploring our river / creek while getting a little bit of exercise as well!However, the best part about this company is its customer service! We have had a couple of snags, due to COVID delays, and not a single email / concern has gone unanswered - I dont think 30 minutes would pass before a response - with a solution - was received!Thank you for making an incredible product that we will enjoy for many years to come!!

Having never owned a kayak before I found BKC through research and thought I would give it a try and got the RA220. The shipping took as long as indicated on their website which was fine. I received it a week ago and this weekend (8/7) I did an hour long course with a local instructor just to get comfortable with being on it and learn the basics. As soon as I sat on it the kayak would tip over.....constantly. The instructor tried getting on it and it would tip as well, in still water. Finally was able to get it upright while sitting on it ( because the instructor was holding the sides, and then it started taking on water and started to sink. The whole event was embarrassing and the kayak was a waste of money.

Hard to find Kayaks this summer and when I did, they were expensive because of short supply. Ordered from Brooklyn kayak knowing it would take longer then usual but still came in enough time to enjoy for the second half of the summer. Great kayak and thanks for already giving us pleasure!

Bought a tandem kayak with 700lb weight limit for wife and I, despite our combined weight of about 350 and no extra gear there is always an inch or two of water in the kayak with the scupper plugs removed. We have less of an issue from our cheap sporting goods store kayaks. Not what I was expecting from a $900 kayak.

Ordered a kayak on Amazon from them in march 2021 . they gave a bogus shipping tracking number and its August and still no Kayak. They provided a bogus Shipping tracking number alsoI complained to Amazon and they passed the buck to Brooklyn. Both me and Amazon contacted Brooklyn and they said it would take 3 to 5 business days to reply and ro research the problem. this is unacceptable. it took less than 3 minutes to charge my credit card $1800. There isnt anything to research. Refund my money immediately or send the kayak with a valid shipping tracking number. .and to prove you make good on you our word send me an Amazon credit voucher for a battery for the trolling motor.

The kayak was nicer than expected! It is very solidly built, has all the amenities I would need such as pole holders, fishfinder mounts, dry storage, etc. And the pedal drive is awesome. It is so nice being able to use my hands for fishing 100% of the time rather than using paddles. The service has been amazing as well, they have answered all my questions in a timely manner.

Terrible customer service! Delivered our tandem kayak on 6/2/2021 - now a month later we still have NO SEATS - not the normal seats or the upgraded seats we paid for...it took over three weeks to provide a tracking form for the seats they were sending us - and now that tracking form has been created but the item has not been picked up from the shipper for over a week. If I dont communicate with them they absolutely dont communicate with me - I am so sorry to have spent over $1000 for a kayak I CANT USE.

Hands down BEST kayak company Ive come across. I purchased the BKX TK219 12.2 Tandem Fishing Kayak, its very sturdy, roomy and customizable. It comes with several rod holders and has plenty of room for a tackle box, which came in handy when fishing on the intercostal where Ive caught snapper and barracuda. Not only are their kayaks amazing, their customer service is exemplary.Every time I email Brooklyn Kayak Company, they get back to me immediately, and resolve my issue the same day. Even though I purchased my kayak in 2019, when I recently lost my scupper plugs, they replaced them at no charge and shipped out it the same day, right on time for me to enjoy my kayak during the Labor Day weekend. I HIGHLY recommend this company.

I ordered a BKC TK122 Angler Kayak on April 12, 2021 and it still has not arrived. I was told that the delivery time would be between 6-8 weeks, but 18 weeks have passed and I still havent received it.I was communicating back and forth through email with the customer service representative and was only told to be patient and wait. On July 29th, the seats for the kayak finally arrived, so I assumed the rest wasnt far behind. Unfortunately, 3 weeks have passed since then and still no sign of the kayak.Overall, this has been the worst experience out of all the orders Ive placed in the past for any company. Just be warned that if youre planning on taking this out during the summer, make sure to order it in the winter so that youll hopefully get it by then. We were planning on using it this past summer, but I guess well just have to store it away after it gets here. As for the quality, I cant say until I use it next year.

I ordered this (July 30th. 2021) and was giving a delivery date of August 23rd), when that date came and went I reached out only to be told that it hadnt shipped because they were unable to ship to my zip code and asked if I had family or friends I could have it shipped to instead. They should have reached out once I placed the order and not waited over a month and after the initial delivery date to tell me they couldnt ship this to me. If they cant ship across the county they shouldnt be selling on Amazon. Response time and communication from company is horrendous.

My BKC TK122 arrived in excellent condition. The kayak itself is easy to maneuver, stable, and has excellent storage capacity. It was a long wait, however, I was aware of that when making the purchase and the promise that the kayak would be worth the wait was accurate! Customer service wasExcellent throughout the entire process and I couldn’t be happier with the TK122. Every thing about this company is deceptive.I never write bad reviews, but,Here are the things that cause me to write this review.1) they withdrew funds from my account instantly when I placed my order2) they assured me that the product was in stock (I don’t believe that to be true)3) several times in the last 3 weeks they assured me that my product was shipping in the next 1-3 business daysSeveral times over the last 3 weeks!!4) when I finally canceled my order today... they stated that the funds would show in my account in 2-4 business days. I am pretty sure this will take much longer.I would avoid this company completely.

I am giving a 4 star review which is high for me. I am extremely critical on boating equipment. I suggest BKC kayaks to all my friends and people I meet. For the money it is the best float out there. During Covid we had an epic adventure planned for Lake Powell. With shipping delays BKC bent over backwards. I got the kayak before the trip! Only problem is they did not send the peddle drive. It happens and the trips I have taken with this boat have been stellar. Friend of mine got the shorter version and loves it. I use mine for sitting and SUP. It is a bit heavy but the versatility is there. I highly recommend this company.

BKC is a small company which relies on a low budget, poorly run delivery service. They do not answer their phones and do not take responsibility for mistakes in the delivery of their products: I ordered a pedal kayak which came without the pedal drive and after 2 weeks, when the drive still didn’t arrive, I cancelled my order and decided to go with a more reliable company. I suggest you steer clear of this company. UPDATE: They are now not responding to my emails or calls. They are ignoring my order cancellation.

We purchased the BKC TK122 FISHING KAYAK WITH ALUMINUM SEATS. Awesome customer service!!!! Emailed them responded same day. They are up front with how long it will take to get kayak (back order days plus shipping). And of course after awhile even knowing it will take awhile still had to email them to confirm everything still good they responded same day and also offered to cancel order if needed. We are so happy that we did waited. Great price and yes made in china molds owned by bkc. very stable in rough water, very easy to maneuver, we are 60 yrs old no problem using this kayak. Havent used it for fishing yet just going out to local lake and rowing around for exercise. 2 problems 1st was 1 chair missing rubber plug on end of leg. they sent out a bag of them. 2nd was the floor storage plastic ring had cracks and they also sent out 2 complete storage units. Even offered to send them pics they said not needed no problem replacement parts on the way. I havent ran into this type of service in a long time. Would highly recommend them. Other kayaks equal was 2 times the price. We have done vacation kayaking not actively using kayak this a great beginner kayak. hope this helps.

Was notified in early March I would be contacted by shipping company to arrange delivery in two days. after a month of saying shipping company would be arranging delivery I canceled my order. Extremely disappointing. Company was good to refund money quickly. Shipping company theyve hired for distribution of container shipments from China is the WORST. Suggest to avoid.

This is for the FK184 9 Kayak (in Camo, of course)TLDR:Solid kayak that will take around a month to be delivered. If you are OK with the wait, the kayak is well worth it.I will start my review off with Holy that was a long wait. It was almost exactly 1 month from order date to delivery (Ordered May 4th, Delivered June 5th). I had not heard anything for long enough that I reached out to BKC to check on the status of my order, and Isaac got back to me right away to confirm that my order had already been shipped (mine had a tracking number followed by tracking pending on the site, so I think something just got messed up). That being said, I was expecting a long wait when I placed my order. Throughout the ordering process, BKC was completely transparent that it can be 14-21 days before the kayak ships, and around 10 business days for shipping. So I was expecting that it was probably going to be awhile before I would be receiving my kayak. Luckily, being from the Red River Valley in ND, the weather wasnt cooperating during that time anyway, so I didnt miss out on much (Winters are really long here...).Having had the opportunity to get the kayak out and fish from it, I am 100% satisfied. The maiden voyage was in a small bay with quite a bit of boat traffic, and I had no problems dealing with wake and wind while continuing to fish. I plan to take it out on the river this weekend, but after handling so well on the lake I expect no different on moving water. The kayak is built solid and tracks really well. It is heavy enough that you wont get beat up by a little wind, but light enough that it can be carried by 1 person (for reference, I am 5 9 and roughly 170 lbs).While the wait was a little painful, I would definitely do business with BKC again in the future!

Love my new tandem fishing kayak. For the price, the quality cant be beat. Its super stable, plenty of room and area for gear and is maneuverable for one person when needed. The backorder process did take longer than expected but their customer service was super helpful and responsive throughout, which made up for the delayed delivery. I have also bought this same kayak for my dad, so now we have two in the family and would recommend to others.

These guys have passed me off. I ordered my kayak April 10th 2021 and patiently waited for the 6 to 8 week period and nothing. I sent email after email. Finally after about another month I got my kayak. Well the kayak thats was sent didnt have the things that is was supposed to. I had a hole the size of a quarter at the tip. When I pulled the seat off to take it out of the bag. I noticed I had a crack in one of the storage lids. I emailed them and sent pictures. They told me they would send me a new one. It has been over a month and I have not heard a thing. They are not returning my emails to let me know what is going on. I am pretty mad right now.

I really like my kayak. Purchased it last summer but due to covid i didnt recieve it till fall. Used it a couple times this summer already. Had a little issue with a trolling motor mount but BKC has excellent customer service. Among the best ive ever dealt with. So two thumbs up on that aspect of the company. Isaac and Isaac both were excellent and extremely help full. I appreciate all thier help.

It is too cold and snowy to get out yet. Also I severely separated my shoulder when my bike skidded out from under me on a patch of ice. However my tandem arrived in beautiful condition. It did take awhile as they warned and other customers warned on facebook, but it did arrive. It looks really well designed and made. Cant wait to get my arm out of the sling, the water and air warm and our 5 year old who loved sitting in my single kayak last year out on the water in our beautiful tandem.

Quality of the product 5/5. Delivery and customer service 1/5. I ordered 9 fishing kayak (FK285) in October which was received in 12 weeks (January), so far so good and consistent with their disclaimer on the web site when I purchased it. However, the seat is delivered separately from California. After several weeks I then began regularly emailing/calling for delivery of the kayak seat. The kayak is useless without a seat. It took another 3 months to receive the seat! More than 9 calls and emails, with nothing but platitudes (two more weeks, COVID, should be on its way soon) and the run-around mostly blaming it on the USPS. I will give them credit for finally sending me a universal seat. The tracking number I was sent never showed a pickup, it just suddenly showed up one day. In summary, good kayak but if you want dependable delivery and customer service buyer beware.

I bought a Pk13 for fishing. I love this kayak. very stable lots of room for rods and tackle. peddling is great no need for the paddle keeps hands free to fish which is awesome. I weigh 220 and can stand and fish in this with ease. Had a little problem with my original pedal system making a sweaking noise which it still worked but was annoying. bkc sent me out a new pedal drive immediately They were right on answering my emails immediately. Great company Keep up the good work guys.

Either way, I have not received may kayak seat any my kayak is useless with out it.I had to purchase a soft seat to use my kayak on a planned kayak trip. The soft seat hurt my back on day one and was unable to continue on my 3 day rowing vacation. Rating reduced to one star.June 17 2021: I ordered a kayak from Brooklyn Kayak company in march around march 10, 2021. We were told that the Kayak would ship in May, the kayak arrived on June 15th, a full month late, and arrives without a seat. So now I have a boat with no seat. lovely, wait several months for an incomplete order. Whats worse is the fact that you cant reach this company on the phone, nor can you reach the shipper on the phone. I thought I was buying from a reputable company. Email only customer support that happens up to 48 hours later is not customer support, its customer ignore.This Kayak was ordered with the suspension seat because I have a permanently injured back and can not sit in a regular seat and row, as my back will not support the strain of rowing without pin and discomfort. Sending me a standard seat, will not work.Customer ignore is also having your automated answering system hang up on people.Sigh...Customer service is a lost art. This company is just like Google, and Facebook and so may others. No support and they dont care one bit!This will get updates regularly with a accurate time line of events. One star is already lost for shipping time for an incomplete order. that one will never come back. another has been removed for poor customer support. I really like my RA220 kayak. Very stable and the seat is very comfortable. I fish lakes and rivers with it and it has been a pleasure. I ordered in and was able to pick it up the very next day at the warehouse in NJ. The warehouse was very unorganized and I was there over an hour waiting for them to find it. My only complaint/suggestion would be the side handles. When I lift the kayak to put on my roof rack to transport my fingers get squished between the handle and the side of the kayak. I wish these were more like the front molded in handle.

While the delivery of my new Brooklyn Kayak was significantly delayed, the Brooklyn representative always responded immediately to my inquires and offered calming words of reassurance that everything that could be done to get my kayak to me was being done. It was a first class operation in times when are best efforts were limited by conditions beyond our control. They were up front about delays, which I understand. The kayak arrived without a seat and I was told it would two to three more weeks... again, I was OK with that. Three weeks later, no seat. I called, no one answers so I left a message, no response. I emailed and was told it is coming. A week later, nothing and no updates on the tracking info (they use USPS... who does that??????). Another one was supposedly ordered but again, no update on the tracking info. Overall, the kayak is nice, it looks fabulous in my garage minus the seat. The customer service however is less than acceptable and they dont seem to make much effort to solve the problem I am having. Maybe I will get a five gallon bucket, fasten it down with gorilla tape and use it that way.***NOTE*** The seat FINALLY arrived. However, BKCs reply is not accurate. I was told 4-6 weeks PLUS 10-20 business for the order. I ordered the kayak on 3-25-21, using simple math, the worse case scenario would June 3rd 2021. The Kayak arrived with no seat on 5-3-21. I was told that day. 2-3 weeks for the seat. I received an update 5-27-21 that it was going to ship... up till that point I was fine, when it didnt arrive in a couple days, thats where I had a problem. I sent numerous emails, I got few responses. The seat FINALLY arrived 6-11-21 later than promised so dont try to put a spin on it BKC. You dropped the ball, you did not come through with good customer service. I get this covid thing is what it is and can accept that but when you dont reply to emails or phone messages but can comment on your google review, do you see a problem there???? Overall, great KayaK and if not for the world being what it is, probably would not have been an issue but in the end, I am happy/
