The reason behind my one star review had nothing to do with how long I waited for food or waited to pay. That was probably the most pleasurable experience because it was quick and I was able to get out of your store. The reason why I am leaving this review is because I was belittled by the woman who took my order. It started when I ordered a double cappuccino for my wife. Her response was, “You traveled all the way to Maine to order a double cappuccino?” I honestly thought she was joking but there was no smile on her face,Only a sarcastic smirk that everyone in line behind me witnessed. I have a pretty thick skin however that comment was uncalled for especially because everybody behind me heard her. Additionally, if it was not too much trouble, I requested an espresso to be put in my coffee to make it a little stronger and the response was “you can make your own coffee over there and I will let you know when your espresso is done and you can put it in yourself, understand?“ Again I thought she was joking but there was no smile on her face. I couldn’t believe that a simple breakfast order could turn into an embarrassing moment on a vacation weekend. I gladly paid for the rest of my order which was a breakfast burrito and a avocado on toast with eggs for my wife. I was reluctant to tip but the young lady at the register was so sweet that I was not going to let her associate ruin it.To top it off, when our food came The espresso was missing. I looked at my wife and I said can you believe that I paid $35 for a take out breakfast that I’m not even going to enjoy because of this experience. I don’t normally leave bad reviews but I felt compelled to in this case. I manage a luxury brand new car dealership in New Jersey and I can’t stress enough to my staff that you’re only as good as your last review. I’m not saying to avoid your establishment, I am simply making you aware that if I was treated that way, I’m sure she probably treated others the same and you just never knew. You may have been the person that waited on us. I don’t know. I do know that I will not come back and not forget that I was treated with disrespect. I am sure that this will jog her memory and maybe give her a different perspective when taking orders from vacationers. I wish you well.Respectfully,Bob

They have great food, friendly staff, and accommodate food intolerances!My wife and I ate lunch here and were happy with their friendly staff that graciously accommodated our food intolerances (gluten for me and gluten and dairy for my wife). Their Maple Bacon Cheddar Burger was one of the best burgers Ive had, even with the gluten-free bun! My wife was so excited to find gf/df desserts in the store as well. We couldnt resist and returned the next day for more.We will gladly eat here again.

We stopped here for coffee one morning since none of the coffee shops in town open until 8:00.They have a nice coffee bar with different flavors of fresh ground coffee. The coffee was tasty!Super cute shop with I little of everything you may want/need, including baked goods, groceries, alcohol, and knick-knacks.

Always stop here whenever I am in town. Perfect seaside stop for snacks, drinks or lunch on the go. Wine selection is amazing.

Purchased an $11 bottle of balsamic vinegarette and some books. The cashier didnt wrap the glass bottle a d bagged everything together, so as soon as I left the store it broke and ruined all my books, so I take the bag right back in and asked if they could at least replace the broken bottle for me but they were rude and said they couldnt help me at all. Happy customers are worth more than. $11, but not to this business.

Didn’t go into the store but I wouldn’t mind picking up one of these spectacular pieces of lawn art. I’m not certain as to the proper name for them but as the wind hits them they spin, and/or twirl. Love them!

Ginormous portions of yumminess for a great price.

Great ordering system in place for COVID - was able to go in and order a bagel using their microphone system at the counter. Hassle-free, in and out in 30 seconds and then picked up at the window outside. Wish more small businesses were able to innovate like this as it eliminates the usual frustration of ordering with a mask. Great service!

The place is nice, quaint, and has a lot of selection but one of the employees behind the food counter was not friendly at all. Completely turned me off.

My husband had a delightful tuna melt. I had hash. There were huge chunks of corned beef and a few potatoes.

I was in the store earlier today, January 4th and was looking at the menu when I saw a staff member walk through the kitchen with no mask. She proceeded to interact with her coworkers and touch food and was still not wearing a mask.There are signs all around the store saying masks are required for everyone. I felt uncomfortable to purchase from the kitchen.

This place has great food. Ate breakfast here daily while on my trip. Great coffee and espresso. The staff does a great job and very friendly love the pictures of 41 on the wall. This is my go to spot when I come here. Love this place

Everybody in H B is very nice and helpful. We visited for breakfast and ended up going back the next morning. They have delicious coffees and the cornbeef hash is homemade. I will be coming back next time Im in town.

Me and my manager had ordered two sandwiches from here over the phone and had no issue till I went to pick it up. I arrived at the store and went to the outside window and immediately the owner argued with me because I asked to pick-up my order at the window, mainly all because she misunderstood what I said. I had forgotten a mask and covered my face with my shirt, even though I was outside and she got in my face and continued to raise her voice telling me how I should conduct myself. She not only continued to yell at me, however was yelling at other customers inside the shop as well. I find this to be completely unprofessional and rude. I’ve never felt disrespected enough to write a review until this point.

If I get a job here will I get the over time? Isnt there 92,ooo reasons we would ask this question? Hmmmm interesting!

We love HB Provisions! Great local spot in the Lower Village, walking distance from the Port. Great place for coffee & breakfast due to the available seating, also good to drop in if you need a quick snack, treat or grocery items. We stop in regularly and have never been disappointed!Plus, for bonus points they gave our daughter a candy cane at the Puppy parade last year. Made her day!!

The owner argued with my fiancé after we asked for a refund because our sandwich was wrong and they were busy and we just wanted our money back...never got our money back. And the owner Acknowledge older gentleman drinking in public in her parking lot and was okay with it...there was children everywhere including my own child.

Super fun staff members, a good mix of local crowd and tourists alike in the summer, and people are more than willing to share a table for breakfast as the confines are limited, but this is a point of fascination rather than a deterrent. Its so cool to see a convenience type setting with a cafe type of vibe to it. The mix of chaos and order that flows through the place is a dance that I recommend doing!

The staff is extremely nice and I highly recommend the paninis/burgers here :) The place is perfect for anyone looking for a quick bite.

Groovy little general store

A staple in the port area. Good people, good food, semi-high pricing on common items but its good to have something like this in town when you dont want to drive far from the port. Parking can be tricky at times.

Odd store, my corned beef hash breakfast wrap wasnt very good and they are very strange in their ways of dealing with covid

They have several choices of coffee beans and a grinder, if needed. The chocolate almond coffee is really good.

If they dont have it, you dont need it!

Staff is great, personable and even when inundated with customers, will always have a quick chat. The owner really cares about her patrons and welcomes tourists as though they are old friends.A variety store, restaurant and gathering place, HB does a good job of keeping a good mix of tradition and modern needs. Great coffee and food choices. Our group comes annually for a getaway and this is our #1 stop the morning after we arrive. We have a variety of dietary preferences and this place doesn’t disappoint!

This is a very friendly little store that is great for breakfast, coffee and provisions. Try the blueberry pancakes. You won’t be disappointed.

Charming little store that obviously has a storied place in town. Esteemed wine selection at fair prices plus handmade treats lining the aisles and the best-tasting, freshest lobster roll weve ever had - lets call it the Alice Waters treatment, in which people just let food be its masterful self instead of overdressing it - the lobster is the highlight and the roll isnt drenched in butter. The lobster itself tasted sweet, buttery, and light. It boomed with flavor. We also ordered a tasty crab melt, which came piping hot, crusty, and zinged with onion and umami. Staff was in training but was competent and kind, which lasts a mile, and the manager or owner was both kind, savvy, and cool. Well be back!

These ladies have a corner on the market! The store itself is very crowed and Id make sure to order your food ahead of time and go to pick it up. In the summer months the place is always packed! Theres a good selection of quality cheeses, wines and they make a solid burger!

I absolutely love this place. They have just about everything you could possibly need and the staff and owners are all so lovely. Aside from the general store, they also have a great menu for dine-in or takeout. Good stuff. If you’re in the area, you have to check it out.

Planning next year’s vacation and HB is on the top of the list of places we will be visiting in Maine. Looking forward to seeing Bonnie and Helen again and enjoying their amazing general store!

Yummy New England clam chowder as well as quick grab and go eats. There is a bistro area out front so you can people watch and an interesting history of the beloved Bush family inside.

Hometown general store that sells everything you need. Liquor, beer, and wine. Fresh coffee. Nitro coffee too. Grill for fresh to order food. Great staff. Great local trinkets. A must stop if youre in town or if you live here.

Stopped by to see if they had any local whiskey and thankfully yes they do. Got a couple of bottles for a reminder of the trip when I get home. I wish I hadnt eaten already the food looked great. The staff were beyond that. They were very helpful and helped me with making my final selection.

Great place to stock up of you are staying close by. I grab a couple of bottles of wine every time Im in Kennebunkport. My wife stocks up on whoopie pies

They need to take the dipped ice cream cone off the menu. It was a complete nightmare to eat and we got the small. I wasnt expecting it to not melt, but it did not hold up like a DQ one does at all. It started melting almost immediately all over clothes, hands, etc. We couldnt eat it fast enough. It was terrible. I also had the chocolate dipped and it tasted like cherry...and I dont like cherry. Otherwise, nice people who work there.

The food is good. However the past couple of times Ive had to wait for the same sub that I always get there longer than usual. Whenever I order something they always put the order in right away and it takes about 5 minutes. But recently they somehow forget to do that and I waited longer than I really anticipated. This has happened 3 times now.

This is a community staple. Its everything good about the area in one store. The owners are amazing people and the staff is always very attentive. On top of it all, the coffee and food are unparalleled.

I love this place in the heart of Kennebunkport and is the place for home cooked comfort food which happens to be very good eating. Great variety in selections from breakfast to lunch and some that are traditional and others that are their own crafted creations. It has a very touristy feel but it is in the heart of a tourist trap town which is to be expected but I encourage you to check it out because I was surprised how good it was. I had a chicken caesar wrap that was delicious, full of chicken but balanced well with all its ingredients..

The only provisions market in downtown Kennebunkport. Prices arent cheap but its so adorable in there with great service. I had a great bagel sandwich for breakfast and lots of coffee options. Easy to grab n go or dine in for a quick bite

This is a little neighborhood store in the midst of Kennebunkport. We just stopped by to take a look and grab a can of beer. It was ok. Pretty tight quarters and there was a long line to pay. They have a little bit of everything. Apparently its very popular with the locals, but as the owner expressed in a comment to me, Kennebunkport is a tourist town,so expect to pay for that. This is an edited review as my original was apparently unkind. Ridiculous!!!

Great sandwiches that we took to Mothers Beach.

Lobster roll is NOT. Merely a spoonful on a hamburger bun. The tomato was bigger and more than the lobster meat. AND they still charged $19.99. Go somewhere else when in town for your lobster roll.

No long wait time for lunch, off street parking, quick service, sandwiches were overstuffed, 3 picnic tables with umbrellas while waited for order

I love coming here every summer and around New Years. They have amazing breakfast sandwiches and soups!! Cantt wait to be back! :)
