The owner is knowledgeable and passionate about many games and toys. I can not recommend this store enough. We do not live in the Lower Peninsula but will travel out of our way to come here when we are in the vicinity.

Not exactly easy to find. But after seeing a story on the news about the store I went looking for it one day. I recently started looking for jigsaw puzzles and thought Id check their selection and maybe pick up a game if something caught my eye.While the selection items seemed pretty impressive, the customer service was pretty lacking. The welcome in from the guy behind the counter was about as enthusiastic as my desire to get another root canal. I wandered the store for about 5 minutes and not once did the guy look up from whatever he was doing at the counter nor did he ask if I was looking for anything or offer to help me in anyway. I didnt see anything that caught my interest puzzle wise and decided this wasnt the place for me. Didnt get a thanks for stopping in or have a good day or anything, probably because he was so engrossed in whatever he was looking at was more important.Ill look for another place for my games or puzzles.

Very generous community store that deserves a lot of praise. Hosts gaming groups for free, provides games for free to play in their large gaming area. Offers discounts for large groups. Has a very large selection of board games and your usual nerd products. Highly recommended. Friendly, good service too.

The store has been here for I think six or seven years but I never saw it till this day that I stopped. They have so many cool games all kinds of different games and huge array puzzles, are smaller toys just a really interesting store. Very clean very organized

My husband, child and I have loved visiting the OOTB locations for several years now. We have played board games there at their open table gaming. The guys are knowledgeable and can help you locate a game you are looking for or order you up one. Go in and try a game before you buy it. They have a rental library. Anyway check them out...bring your kids you will probably walk out with a toy or boardgame or two.

A ton of games to pick from. They have 2 location holland and Kentwood. You can also rent board games to try them out before you buy them.

A great place to get a wider variety of table top games such as board games.

This establishment is deplorable. The costumer service is extremely lacking. Do not buy games here!!! My family is big on games and collecting wonderful memories with the games we play; this place is awful. They would not accept the return of a game that is opened, whether or not it is the same hour you opened it. I have two punch cards (picture provided) and it has more than enough punches to receive a 20$ bonus (we paid well over 150$ to receive 10 punches) but they would not accept it. The money does not matter, but I just feel like these people are not good in any sense of the meaning. It is absolutely embarrassing we bought games here. PLEASE BUY YOUR GAMES ANYWHERE ELSE. I never leave reviews, but these guys stank.

Wonderful place to hang out and play games. Owner was really cool to talk to and very informative. The location also has a considerable amount of space to host events and just play all the great selection of games they have with anybody!

We love this place. We go here for any board game and puzzle needs. Great, local company that we are glad to support. Their membership deals are a great way to get discounts as well. They also hold events and do a lot of things in the community.We have gone to two of their escape rooms at their Zeeland location and absolutely loved them. We even tried the escape room on the bus recently and loved that, too. The staff here are incredible as they helped my fiancé propose at the end of the escape room on the bus. Very cool and special place for us.

A HUGE selection and better prices than I saw online for the game I wanted. Its pretty cool when you can ask for recommendations, and the guy doesnt even have to think, just asks you for your top 3 games and pulls something off the shelf, which then turns into your favorite game. Well done.

Place was very well organized and tidy. They have an area in the back where you can bring your board games and play if you dont have a place of your own to gather. I would definitely recommend shopping here and using this place as a venue to play at with your friends.

Out of the Box has a great selection of board games for both the casual and experienced board gamers. Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable.They also have a very nice room for playing games, free of charge. You can bring your own games, or borrow one (again free of charge) from their large library.I highly recommend checking it out.

Their consignment area is a great place to get games on the cheap. Also they have a huge library of walk in and play games. Great way to spend an afternoon.

Very neat store with a lot of great games and a room dedicated to playing games. Employees are very nice and it is a UPS Access Point so you can drop UPS packages off.

Awesome selection, great deals and my go-to place for Board and Card games. I have also gone to several gaming events and the staff is always very accommodating, friendly and helpful.

This place was so chill and had a ton of games for us to try out. We even met a game developer and tested out his latest board game from grand gamers guild. They had free pizza that night and a bunch of snacks and drinks to choose from while we played.

Everyone is very nice every time we have visited. I am not into what they have to offer but my fiance is and he loves coming here. They have excellent customer service and have fun game nights that everyone really enjoys.

Awesome place that should be more famed in the area then it is. Was the ONLY store in the entire area that had the board game I was looking for without having to order it (The Labyrinth Board Game). Super nice and held it behind the counter for me. Great selection when I browsed upon arrival, as well as an awesome concept of renting games to try them at home as well as in a room in the back of the store. Will definitely be going back.

I love going here to play and buy all kinds of board games. They have the biggest selection of board games that Ive seen at any store in West Michigan. The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. If you find a game you like, there is a good chance the store has a demo copy that they will play with you so you can try it out. Definitely check this place out!

Very friendly staff that goes out of their way for their customers! I wanted to buy Agricola; it wasnt in stock, but it was at their Zeeland store. Chris said hed bring it to the Kentwood store and I was able to pick it up in the morning. Also, the membership discount is very generous. And they host parties! My surprise 40th birthday was here and the staff went above and beyond to make sure that it went off perfectly!

Awesome place its a great place to sit and play a game and have very reasonable prices. Also there game rental library is a great way to try before you buy and there Wednesday night game nights you can almost always find a group to play any game. The only downside is that they arent open on Sundays other than that its the best place in all of west Michigan to play board games

Best board game and puzzle store in West Michigan.

Great selection of board games and a good spot to play them in the back. They also do well as far as pre-orders go, or ordering out of stock games. I would give five stars but have to knock one off for inconsistent service. A new customer can easily enter the store with hearing a single hello or how may I help you?, as well as being unable to distinguish employees from their friends or customers. If you do talk to the employees though, theyre helpful more often than not.EDIT: Im leaving the original review as-is. I feel like its important to show a business actively trying to improve.Ive continued to go in and service has been excellent lately. The employees are highly visible, helpful, and friendly. Highly recommended!

Ive been coming to out of the box for months now. As a person who has to travel a lot of his job I have been to more than my fair share of game stores. I can say, honestly, that the experience that youll have at out of the box and its staff are some of the best in the industry. The staff is knowledgeable and are more than willing to help with anything the customer needs. They have a huge playroom which is free to the public. The prices are retail, but they have a fantastic membership program that offers significant discounts to those who frequent their store. Whether youre a person with a passing interest in board games or a grizzled veteran of the hobby this is the place for you.

The used game section makes this store amazing - lots of stuff at discount but still great condition. The quantity and selection of new games in this store is bigger than any other place Ive ever been.

We game here weekly on Sundays as the Grand Rapids Pathfinder and Starfinder Socities. Ethan has been really wonderful in helping us get started and taking/offering suggestions. The store is clean and well organized. There is a large gaming area in the back for people to come in and set-up whatever games they want. I really hope that they will be around for years to come.

Great place for all things RPG and fellowship of the games. Meet good people who are welcoming and ready to help. They have a wide selection of board games, RPGs and accessories. If you are stopping in to play they have a wide selection of snacks and beverages for sale during play. Sundays are a big day for playing. They have many tables and many groups were there playing D&D, MTG, and various other tabletop games.

The staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable on how to find the best game/toy for you or your loved one, and they have a huge and diverse selection. Plus you can try out many games while youre there and more extensively on the many free game nights they host!

If you like to get your game on fairly early in the morning (or anytime for that matter) then THIS is the place for you! I work 3rd shift so getting to play my favorite games after work has been a long fought battle for me. Most of the gaming stores I know of dont open until noon or the afternoon so early bird gaming has been practically out of the question for me...until I found this place! Goldmine Comics used to fit that bill long ago but somewhere along the way they prohibited casual play😕. Thankfully, OotB is not far from them AND they let you causal play til your hearts content😙. Not only that they have a slew of board games for purchase and play, including the ones on the game shelf that are available to all wanting to give them a go. If that wasnt enough they even have all that ails you and your gamer needs! Whether it be gaming supplies, snacks, drinks, gaming tables/space, chances are they got you covered. And did I mention their bathrooms are CLEAN! Yes, its worth mentioning because its a feature thats somewhat rare in gaming spots unfortunately😓. The staff is also nice, helpful, and non-intrusive even. Nothings worse than being harassed/bothered when all you want to do is relax and play. And finally I just want to mention that I also love the simple fact that theyre really close to where I live. That said, I dont know how I didnt know about them sooner? Oh, I think I know why which brings me to their only real flaw. The building is incredibly easy to miss. The first time I went there was with a friend of mine and we passed the place TWICE trying to find it! Its in a very unassuming building and the sign is kind of small but after you see it you definitely wont have that problem anymore. Parking is somewhat limited in the front but I believe they have even more space in the back. All-in-all, I enjoy my time immensely at Out of the Box and I HIGHLY recommend checking them out. When you do we might even get a game in sometime😊

Came to this UPS Access location to pick up a package. I had just received a notification from UPS advising that my parcel had been delivered.The store associate told me, We dont have your package. The UPS guy mustve forgotten to bring it in the store.Confused, I show the young man my phone with the UPS message confirming that my package had indeed been delivered.He confirms that he singed for my delivery but vehemently denies receiving any package & turns to the back counter to show me the few items that were already delivered, that did not have my name on them.Frustrated & almost in tears, I turn to walk away & leave, & lo & behold, guess what had been on the FRONT counter the entire time?Yes, you guessed correctly, my package.He laughs it off & tells me to Have a nice day.
