Visiting from Florida this week and we stopped here get food and it was amazing, I shared it with my friend and they gave us so much chips. The pies were incredible. 10 out of 10.

Great sandwich shop, my Mom and I had a farewell lunch with my Uncle before he left town, heading out west to visit my cousin. Good fresh ingredients, fresh bread and delicious desserts. And the eye candy was good too. A yummmy lunch all the way around.

Have stopped for sandwiches, cheesecake, and pie many of times. Service can be a little slow, but its worth it. I personally love the farmer and their plain cheesecake. If youre around you gotta stop!

Absolutely love this place. The sandwiches are delicious. Love the pies they sell there also. I have not ever been disappointed.

I asked to visit one of Boerne’s best restaurants during my visit. It could have been anywhere and any fare. It was Bumdoodlers! But don’t be afraid of the unsaved parking or the 40-year-old building! One spoonful of their broccoli cheese soup and you’ll be wondering why life has never tasted so good! I had a cup of soup and half of a brainstorm sandwich and I was full through dinner! Very impressed with the quality and taste!Oh and then the pies! This is like “free pass out of the dog house” good! Everyone loved the pies! I bought two because we couldn’t decide which one we wanted and I did not regret it.

Very disappointed with our long-term local eatery. Any time I’m arriving around 5 pm the cafe has only one opened area by the entrance (I understand that the cleaning is in process but I couldn’t even use the restroom). The service is no longer friendly - the kitchen staff is simply rude and snobby, and constantly messing up the orders. The male cashier never greets customer. Pickles are no longer tasty - they are crooked, small and soggy. The last two times I ordered pecan pie - it came burnt (the crust and the nuts are all dark and bitter, and I discovered it at home, couldn’t return it). And who is slicing the pies need to pay some attention - I ordered two slices yesterday and one was a regular thin slice and the second one was super small. Their baked potatoes are not consistent also: one time it is a normal size and the other day it’s so small, barely a half of the previous time. But my biggest concern is how dirty it is inside the cafe (tables are sticky, seats are torn, the ground floor area is very dusty). I’ve been a loyal customer of many years but now I feel disgusted and disappointed.

Best place to eat in Boerne...everything is fresh..even the bread...the desserts are the best...

Awesome! We were lost when we stepped in. We didnt know where to go to order, we didnt even know what they had to order. Walking around and watching others, we figured it out. We were just passing through, but we would return over and over to try more soups, sandwiches, and anything else they serve. Everyone was friendly and helpful. These folks work hard. There was a never ending line of hungry people walking in. It was a wonderful atmosphere of down home food, folks, and excitement in anticipation of the delicious food.

Stopped in for lunch after visiting A Cabe With No Name. Great Sandwiches, friendly staff and the prices are good too! They also have gorgeous pies and cakes. Worth a try if youre in the area.

Yeah. Was excited to try this place. Sandwiches where...Meh at best. Worst part was the roaches on the wall in the dining area. Lost my appitite. Not going back . Yuck.

Brainstorm is absolutely Delicious!!!

Ive been going to Bumdoodlers since 2005. By far the best sandwich Ive ever had. Besides a salad several times over the years, Ive rarely strayed from the Brainstorm (request it hot). The taste is like no other. Theyre breads are baked in house. Dont forget a cup of soup. My favorite is the broccoli and and cheese, but the vegetable is good too. And for desert... a piece of chocolate cheesecake. They also made my wifes brides cake years ago and pies for me instead of a cake. Stop in and getcha some and you can thank me later.

This is our go-to place for the best soup, salad, and sandwiches.Today we had a Reuben with pastrami, and broccoli cheese soup- wow!You may want to order a half sandwich, (theyre large) especially with soup and a dessert!And lets not forget their incredible pies (OMG), theyre all homemade, and every one weve had, has been so scrumptious!Highly recommend Bumduddlers!

DELICIOUS! the sandwiches were awesome. Had the apple pie and it was one of the best Ive ever had. Do yourself a favor and grab lunch here. You wont be disappointed.

When were out and about we like to support family owned and operated small restaurants and businesses so we wanted to give this one a try.Their menu selection is pretty good mostly sandwiches hot or cold. I ordered the Turkey sandwich the only issue I had was I asked for a hot sandwich and they gave me a cold one. But I decided to give this place 4 stars because of their fantastic chocolate cheesecake. I am definitely a fan! Please support your local restaurants especially during thepandemic. Hope this helps. if youre a foodie like I am youll love the desserts.

The sandwich was good but the inside was not even close to being acceptably clean for a restaurant. Server seemed less than eager to take our order. Will not return. I am a former restaurant manager and would be ashamed if this was my location.

Stopped in on a whim and it was such a great stop. Everything was phenomenal, I love local gems like this. Fresh homemade and delicious, no chain sandwich place can compete with this place. Only downside I can see is this place fills up

Great food. They do not skimp you on the portions either, so order with the assumption you may not be able to finish all your food. Bums impresses the heck out of me with their decades of consistency. Well done! And I need your ranch dressing recipe! Your ranch has NO equal.

I had the very delicious brainstorm sandwich. It was one of the best sandwiches Ive had the pleasure of eating. The pie and cheesecake is some of the best Ive tasted. This place has the feel of home but the food tasted better.

Baked goods are amazing and really good prices. Most of the rating is for the pies and cookies. If I was going off the sandwiches only it would be a 3. Despite offering different toppings they all taste the same. No strong flavors to differentiate between them. Not necessarily bad just bland. Soup is good though.

Bumdoodlers is always a delicious experience for me, whether in Boerne or Kerrville. Both places are great. The pie is also fantastic.

Bumdoodlers is the place I go when I want a hearty bowl soup and a great sandwich. If you want dessert, they have homemade pies and cheesecakes. I would give them 5 stars, but ordering food takes longer than I think it should. The food is still worth it though.

Food was great, staff was not very friendly or welcoming. One staff member set her crying child right next to us in the empty restaurant. Not impressed.

The food here is great, I tried 4 items: Gobbler, Ruben, Broccoli and Cheese Soup and the loaded potato soup. All of the items were amazing. I am not sure if they make their own bread or buy it locally but wow even the white bread (affectionately called Grandmas slices) were fresh, moist and full of flavor. It was super crowed but that is to be expected when you have good prices and great food. I would highly recommend this to anyone and I will certainly be back.

Good food just so hard to get ahold of them. EVERYTIME I have tried calling them they never answer the phone or the phone is always just beeping like they took it off the hook. So then you have to spend your whole lunch break waiting for your food. Good food nice people just absolutely so difficult to get ahold of if your wanting to do a to-go option.

Had the Brainstorm sandwich. Ordered cold. Should have ordered hot. This type would have been better that way.

Bumdoodlers is an extremely CASUAL place! The place is usually packed so that tells you a lot! They bake their own bread, buns, pies & cheesecakes. There are many delicious deli sandwiches to choose from, all that Ive tried are delicious! They also have homemade soups, usually three choices with the choices rotating by day. But let me tell you what brought us to Bumdoodlers today! Its Pi day so hubby & I went to our traditional place - Bumdoodlers - for some delicious pie. Last year we each had two pieces (one for lunch, a second for dessert) but this year Im on a diet so we had a bowl of broccoli cheese soup for lunch and then a piece of pie for dessert! My favorite is the the coconut meringue, it is so delicious! Hubbys favorite is pecan! By the way, we had two bowls of soup and two pieces of pie. I paid with a $20 and got $12+ change back! Is that amazing or what? But like I said upfront, dont expect fancy!

Just left this place. My oral surgeon suggested we go check out this dive place for a good sandwich and soup. Well I guess we have a different idea about good sandwiches. That place was gross! My sandwich was cold and sloppy. My mothers sandwich was covered in lettuce and the chicken salad was downright vomit worthy. Im sorry but how do u mess up a chicken salad sandwich? Well this sucks we are leaving hungry and now searching for some decent food! 🤮🤮

Great sandwiches at a great price.My major complaint is the employees were not wearing their masks. The majority of the employees had masks covering only their chins. The one employee who was wearing a mask was not covering their nose.

Great, great, great food with very generous portions. The sandwiches and pies are delicious! The basil tomato soup is the best Ive ever tasted. Its a small restaurant, but clean and homey. My sister that lives in Boerne says the restaurant gets packed during the lunch hour. We went after 2:00 p.m. and it was not busy. The service was courteous pleasant. Their table service consists of taking the sandwich to your table. Patrons order and pay at the register.

Excellent food, friendly faces, and a cozy atmosphere. Boernes best sandwich shop, located on the north end of town. You can get them hot or cold, and dont forget about trying one of their amazing soups and spuds.

Experience was really nice..and staff was very friendly....my S/O both had the #1 with chips and a pickle and sweet tea....we both loved it and will return to this location.. Roast Beef was delicious..I would recomend this location....

Normally this is a place to run to for lunch. Sandwiches, soups, baked potatoes and pies. They must have been super busy today because the sandwiches were a little skimpy and the soup extra peppery! Hopefully this is not a permanent change. The desserts are gorgeous and delicious. The variety of breads for the sandwiches are soft and chewy. Overall its a great place for lunch.

Foods ok wish the staff would be a little friendlier

Ordered a half Rueben sandwich with a cup of soup, and it was like eating a sauerkraut sandwich as there was so little meat. Vegetable soup was inedible. Right out of a can. Mushy vegetables in a thick gravy-like broth, overly salted. Slow service and definitely not clean. No reason to ever eat there.

Great sandwich shop. They also have excellent soups and salads. Make sure to leave room for dessert because the pies and cheesecakes are some of the best. They will also do special order cakes and pies but the wait list can fill up fast.

A little late, but my husband and I got married in February and we ordered our wedding cake here. Blanca is the sweetest and I was so happy she made our cake! She knew exactly what style we were going for and had some samples for testing during our appointment. She went above and beyond with customer service and made the whole process extremely easy. Ask for Blanca!!My husband and I even went for lunch the day after our tasting and the food was delicious! I wish I lived closer so that I can stop by and say THANK YOU AGAIN!

Favorite sandwich shop in Boerne. The Old Smokey is huge and delicious. The breads are fresh and soft. They also have a great selection of pies for dessert. For special events, Blanca will make great cakes - we are planning to have our wedding cake from Bumdoodlers!

The best sandwiches and the chocolate cheesecake is amazing. The old smokey has a secret sauce that is so good. All their sandwiches are better hot. All the pies and cakes are delicious but you have to try dipping a ruffle chip in the chocolate cheesecake. the sweet, salty combo is yummy!!!

Best place in Boerne to go for lunch / early dinner. They have fantastic sandwiches and soup. They bake their own bread. Great service and try the pies that they make! Parking can be difficult at times, but everything is good here.

I had the old Smokey and my husband had the Rueben and they were so good! We tried the peanut pie and Chocolate swirl cheesecake. The cheesecake was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Loved it. We’ll definitely be back for more.

Grew up in Boerne, used to be so quaint and nice, still not bad. This place has always been so great! Been eating here for about 25 years. I recommend the brainstorm, get it hot! And the broccoli cheese soup :)
