We signed up for the intro dive and had a great time. Our instructor, Josh, was very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. I joined my wife for her intro dive as a certified companion diver and it was a great experience for me as well. The shore dive location, pace, and overall experience was perfect! On time pick up at my hotel. Boat was prepared with all gear. Dive masters were friendly and chill and set up all your gear for you. They had snacks and lunch after dives and good organization for the back wall drift dive. Would highly recommend and will try to dive with them again.

He was a super cool guy that took time to explain everything to us! To say the least, I had a difficult time to start the dive, but Nick helped me settle down. I just finished a refresher dive course with Dani and I can’t say enough about how great she was! She exceeded my expectations. I had a million and one questions and she answered every question thoroughly and thoughtfully. We did 2 tanks and between dives and after the last dive we talked about my technique and what I could do to improve, about equipment and what to look for, what I need and don’t need, and about what to do to take my diving to the next level. After a few hours with Dani I am so much more confident as a diver and I feel like I learned more with her today than I did in all of my dives combined. Dani was super knowledgeable and friendly while we were on shore, but then in the water she’s as zen as they come! Highly recommend!

I did the Molokini & Turtle Town dives today with these guys today.So just FYI, I work for another Dive Shop on Oahu, and quite used to daily dive operations. But let me say this, these guys and gals were absolutely, beyond any doubt, a real class act. Friendly, helpful, informative and very organized. They made me feel right at home and welcomed. The two dives I went on were led by Ben. He took us all over and found several interesting things such as turtles, eels, puffer fish and other assorted fish life. The other crew members I interacted with were Luke and Jess. Same as above. Friendly to a fault ;-) The boat was a nice size, clean, and they handled both dive groups in a logical fashion. They provided breakfast on the way and lunch on the way back. WOW! I will definitely dive with them again when I hop back over to Maui in the future. Mahalo guys!!

Fantastic dive team, impeccable service! Went to Molikini with this crew and had a great time. Nick and Mike were awesome guides and our captain was great too! Breakfast and lunch was wonderful and the dives were amazing. And the topper was a nice cold washcloth at the end to refresh. Definitely recommend!

OMG... have rented from Maui Dive Shop a few times, but this time Cameron and Ed took it to the next level. Great guys, that were funny and knowledgeable. Solidified my faith in Maui Dive Shop and I wont even bother thinking about going anywhere else. 👍🤙🙂

The crew are the best. We had a great time at molokini and turtle town. Luke was our DM and he frequently pointed to different fish and he also did some tricks with a shrimp and mouth bubble circles at the end of each dive. It was fun!

Crew is super nice and very helpful. It is obvious they strive to make sure each individual feel comfortable and safe for each dive. I originally only scheduled 1 dive with them at the beginning of my trip but had so much fun I signed up for a second trip later in the week.If you are in Maui you definitely need to check this place out and sign up for a dive with them.

Very, very helpful staff. We learned to scuba dive for the first time! Kerstin was great - very patient and showed us a lot of beautiful underwater sea life. Helpful hint to potential customers - sign up for the Molokini Crater trip in advance - many other supposed Molokini trips dont even go to Molokini!

Had a fantastic night dive at Ulua Beach. Brian was great. He took his time to show myself and my daughter some of the strange stuff that comes out at night. We saw all kinds of fish, eels, barracuda, crabs, and a manta ray. The manta ray danced all around us. It was magnificent.

Just did a one on one dive at Makena beach landing with dive master Bryan. It was fabulous. Bryan was terrific. He was knowledgeable, professional, and fun. We saw White tip reef sharks a ton of Turtles, and could even hear the Whales nearby. I have been using Maui Dive Shop for years whenever I come to the island. Experiences like this confirm that I am with the right company. They never disappoint.

These guys were great! Ed was so nice and funny, prices were the best for rentals, and they were very nice to discount a lost mask - would 100% recommend renting/buying from these guys.

Charter with Maui Dive Shop 4/22/21 to Molokini and Makena Landing. Overall a good experience, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THEIR RENTAL GEAR.GOOD: Awesome boat and crew. Our groups dive leader (Jack) was the best Ive dove with. He was safety focused, kept track of the whole group, and gave excellent pre/post briefings. Jack is the man.BAD: Material condition of rental gear was totally unacceptable. One of my BCs had a MAJOR leak, three regulators I was given had dry rotted and cracked HP and LP hoses, and one tank had a dry-rotted o-ring. I found all of this on pre-dive inspections and the crew was quick to swap out gear, but this rental gear was the worst I have used in the US. Almost walked away from the dive before we left the pier.

Went snorkeling with them in Malokini crater and turtle town . Booked online and called to confirm. Poor directions for parking. Equipment we got was cracked and in rough shape. Staff weren’t engaged with answering marine questions and seemed dismissive. Overall poor experience.

It wasnt until I stopped by Maui Dive Shop and got help from Kameron choosing a proper mask and snorkel that I realized that Ive been snorkeling wrong for 20+ years! Ive fallen in love with snorkeling again and even returned to upgrade my fins. Great selection, quality, and customer service at surprisingly reasonable prices.

We dove on Christmas day 2019 and the crew was fantastic. We had an awesome experience. The crew went out of their way to make it easy for us. All we had to do was to sit down all of gear was innplace for us. Lunch and breakfast was provided. The crew obviously enjoy their jobs and went out of their way to make it a fun experience. Definitely recommend.

So we had an experience where my son’s father took out boy into the store to purchase a wet suit. The staff told him that our boy didn’t need to try it on, but then when he got it home it was too small and they wouldn’t exchange it.Also, there is no way to return rental gear after hours. We’re moving our business elsewhere, this place isn’t catering to locals.

Mike, the dive instructor was very patient, respectful, and professional!! While being super on point about safety, at the same time he let me enjoy the full experience of figuring out myself how not to panic under water, what to do with equipment, and how to control my dive myself. My wife and I were out here for our honeymoon. We did all SCUBA pool/classroom work back home and did our open water dives for our certification with Maui Dive Shop. The experience was nothing short of amazing! Chase was an awesome dive master and made the open water dives so much fun. After the required skills we had plenty of time to explore the gorgeous reefs off the shores. Chase has the upmost respect for the ocean life and is incredibly professional and knowledgeable. We can’t wait to do a boat dive with them tomorrow as certified divers! Look nowhere else, Maui Dive Shop is the place to go!!

One of the best dive boat experiences ive had, mainly for the staff and service they provided!The dive site we went to wasnt particularly great/astonishing, but the staff on the boat was! The food/snacks provided were great and more than you typically get on a dive boat! They even handed out scented cold towels that were very refreshing and even asked to clean off my sunglasses. Staff was super friendly and if i ever dive in Maui again, id do it with them.

I took first scuba with them. Jeff and Chase were the team members. They were quite friendly. My wife was scared of scuba but they dealt with patience. I was quite comfortable and enjoyed at the best. I would recommend if they can provide skill practice at the pool, instead of ocean. My wife was scared of not touching the floor at the ocean while practice. If it is pool than it can help to gain confidence.

I had my first scuba experience with them. Jack and chase were our guides. They were very friendly and made our scuba experience good. We all were feeling very safe with them. Although We all had amazing experience; It would be better if we had lessons in a pool or steady shallow water instead of ocean.

I have been coming to Maui at least once a year since 1984 and have visited this store and purchased items as recently as last year. I recently purchased a new diving mask and in reading there notice on the wall it states they will exchange items if you return it in 14 days and in new like condition. I tried the mask and it didnt work as I wanted it to. I returned it to the store and after speaking with the manager I was able to exchange it for a better fitting mask. I appreciated the mangers quick response to issues.

Great people, great gear. They had an issue with the dive boat so called us and upgraded us to the more luxurious option no questions asked. Great food and open bar on the bigger boat was a bonus.

I had a great time doing a beach dive in wailea with Dani! I really lucked out and was the only diver so I wound up with a private day. She really knew her stuff and was friendly and excited to share information. As a new diver I really appreciated the time Dani took to help me master a couple skills I wasnt feeling 100% on. I recommend this shop to someone visiting. I wish they offered kamaaina because I think the ocean is an important part of Hawaiian culture and we need too stay in the water. I have made a conscious decision with my dollars to only support local businesses who support locals by offering kamaaina so unfortunately I wont be returning but that is a management decision and does not reflect how friendly and professional the staff is

Its not a bad place, yet its also not a great place. I wish I could say better things but after three visits it still hasnt grown on me. Its either too impersonal or too much into making a quick buck on tourists -i cant make up my mind which it is.

Excellent dives at Molokini Crater and Turtle Town. Our Dive Master, Jack, was fantastic as were the captain and the rest of the crew. This was, by far, the best dive charter I have ever been on.

LOVED IT!! Did the 2 tank dive. Spent over 70 minutes under water at around 30 feet. Saw 7 eels, 2 frog fish, 2 zebra shrip, a white tip reef shark and a few turtles. Larry was the instructor. With over 4000hours under water, tons of knowledge on safety and science, and a great knowledge of where we were diving, he made it a lifelong memory.

Friendly crew and instructors are great. Had such a good time i would highly recommend if you want to dive or get certified in Maui.

Lots of gear and decent prices for things you need for scuba or snorkeling, also has a great selection of wetsuits. I bought some dive socks to go under my full heel diving fins. They worked great, and I finished my scuba open water certification with much less foot pain

I learned to dive here several years ago. I came in as a strong swimmer who loved to snorkel, but with no dive experience. Within a few hours we were out in the ocean learning to dive with fish swimming around us. I had a great time and they were always concerned about safety. Student to instructor ratio depends on who else happens to sign up for the same class.

Pretty ambivalent and unhelpful service at the store.Dive trips are waaay overpriced. If you dont know how to dive this might be the shop for you, but if youve done any diving run. They want you to go on a dive with a group of yahoos and force you to stay with them. No, you cant just go diving when you get to the site. Im sorry, Im not paying you to tell me how to dive, Im paying you to take me to a couple dive sites and give me air and lunch. They run their boat like its an intro to scuba resort coarse. Ive worked as a DM on 6 different boats and never seen an operation run like that.

Paid and reserved a Jeep rental 2 days in advance to drive the Road to Hana. Arrived to pick up the Jeep and no one knew where it was and the staff was clueless. Frustrating experience and maybe they should stick dive rentals. Walked across to Avis and rented a Jeep.

I do like going to the dive shops, as the staff are very knowledgable. Prices can be high, but staff are always friendly when you come in with questions or help needed.

The Maui Dive Shop in Kihei is awesome! My fiancé and I went in there looking to learn about the local rules/regs for spearfishing in the area and they were sooooo helpful and friendly! They told us all about some of the better places to go and what to expect, and we were able to rent a set of fins and a snorkel along with a diver down flag and float for very reasonable rates. I highly recommend them.

Great dive shop. Very experienced staff. We did a ReActivate refresher course with Maui Dive Shop in preparation for a boat dive and the a second deeper shore dive.We received great pointers on how to continue to stay safe and enjoy the dive to the fullest.We arrived Sunday morning at 7am and were greeted by Tony. Everything was set up and ready to go, that included the masks, fins, suit and BCD/gear. We just had to follow Tony to the shore dive location (Ulua) and then we could begin our dive.The dive was great. We went over the essential points of safety, what to do in certain situations and then a couple of scenarios on dry land and then practiced it in beach water.The second shore dive had plenty of fish and a colorful reef. We ended up going to a depth of 41ft. We saw a variety of fish and a very big sea turtle. Tony also pointed out certain fish and eels. After the dive Tony went over the fish that we saw in his picture book.

OWSI in Maui for a few days and decided last minute to go on a dive the next day. Great/easy customer service on the phone and when I went into purchase a new mask and pay - everyone was funny and kind and helpful without aggressive sales techniques. Great selection in the store, too!Awesome dive the next day - easy communication on meeting locale, great dive briefs, great dive sites! Bryan, my guide, was funny, kind and attentive, pointing out underwater what he heard me say were my interests while kitting up. His demeanor topside and under the waves was so calm and easy going it made the dives even more relaxing then they already were!Boat couldnt go out because of weather so we dove Makena Landing/5 Caves - I would recommend these two sites any day! Absolutely beautiful caves, massive turtles, nudis, octupus - everything you might want in a shore OR boat dive. (Minus a wreck, maybe...ha!)Overall, just a great experience and a dive shop Id recommend to any one!

We did an introducing course with Bryan and the experience was amazing! He explained and guided really good during all the diving proces and gave us lot of confidence.We did two divings. First one we learned how to dive, some security and we got confidence. In the second one we could see a lot of different fishes, kind of reefs and the sea life there like the eels, cleaning shrims, lots of fishes and even a turtle.Bryan’s explanations were really clear and understandable, also with lot of passion and respectfull with rhe sea.In the afternoon we met with Bryan and some other diver instructors and they were really nice.If you have never dived it’s the only place you can take an introducing course. Also, we know that the advance divings that they are offering have good conditions!Thanks!

Fantastic dives... The Molokini Crater dive was amazing... Awesome crew.

Here on vacation and have been to this shop twice. The first time was just a couple of days ago and we were there for 10-15 minutes. Not one person asked us if we needed help with anything (which we did). We ended up just walking out not making a purchase. Went back tonight (June 29 around 7pm)and we had one girl look for a part for us (sort of) I needed for a snorkel fin. She said we dont have it and walked away. Not an offer to show us new fin sets or anything. We were ready to buy but apparently our money is no good there. Now I will say the guy at the Wailea Maui Dive shop was very helpful and although we will never go back to the Kihei shop we will visit Wailea again.

This place has a an amazing technician and friendly staff.

I booked a 2 dive package through this shop and was pleased with their service. My only complaint is that they charge extra if you need a regulator and gauges. $40.00. Ive never not had that included as part of a dive package. I hadnt been diving much so Jack was my team leader. It was his first day on the job and he was great. Everyone on the boat crew remembered everyones names. impressive. The dives were at a wreck that was sunk by Jerry Garcia (if I heard correctly) as part of a reef building effort. the water had good visibility and the fish were plentiful. Jack and the others said that if we rubbed our thumb and index finger together the little yellow (?) fish would think they were going to be fed and swarm around us. It made for great pix. The 2nd dive was at the Molokini crater. That gave the snorkelers a nice shallow reef (5-10 ft.) to hover over and for divers, the reef gave us about 40-60 feet of diving.Overall I thought the service, crew, and accommodations were very good and would dive with them again.

We didnt dive with them but the manager was very helpful in finding my wife some gear. She really knew her stuff and was enjoyable to talk with regarding local diving.
