Exceptional staff, very friendly and accommodating. Went out of their way to ensure we found the perfect space to meet my needs and budget. Always helpful. My only complaint is that my rent doubled after three months (hence four stars instead of five).

So far, So good. The space is larger than I expected, which is a good thing. Angela was extremely helpful to someone who has never used a storage unit before and didnt make me feel stupid. The space is extremely clean, And there is absolutely no evidence of any critters, which is important to me. It is very convenient and easy to use and I have already recommended it to a friend.

I have used multiple storage facilities over the years, and the Maui Extra Space is far and away the best. In addition to a nice, modern facility (e.g., individualized key-code access to the buildings), they have the best possible customer service.First, a few years back, I had to deal with an ownership change (the unit was originally my late wifes, so had to be transferred when she passed -- they handled this with both strict attention to the security and legality AND incredible empathy and kindness).Today, I had to get in to the unit but had lost my keys. Again, upon making sure I was who I said I was, they were not only kind and quickly helpful, they cut the old lock off for FREE --- I have had this very experience at another place and had to hire my own locksmith to come in and do that. FANTASTIC!!Thank you all.

I needed a short term storage space for a month. The staff was excellent in helping me find the correct size and helped set up my account over the phone. When I went to Extra Space to sign the paperwork, the clerk took the time to walk me through the entry gate process and then walked me to my storage space. I would highly recommend this storage facility!

Extra Space Storage made getting a storage unit easy. I called and spoke with someone in their mainland headquarters who took my information and had the Kahului branch contact me. I explained to them that I was in Kihei and they happily and quickly found me a unit in their Kihei location. They had a storage unit ready to go for me as soon as we got off the phone. The lady in the office in Kihei so kindly explained security access, showed me to my unit, and answered my questions. All the staff I spoke with was friendly both on the phone and in person. The driveways, halls and unit are clean. Security seems to be adequate.

Second time renting space with them. Very efficient, smooth operation, friendly, helpful staff. All can be done on line or in person. Facility in Maui is clean, well maintained and appears to be very secure. It is also reasonably priced with a variety of size storage areas to fit your needs.I recommend extra space if you need to store items.

Had an issue with the billing on my account. Frank exceeded my expectations. He immediately worked on the issue, contacted the corporate office and contacted me personally once he had fixed the problem. Great job Frank!

Extra Space Storage had initiated a rate increase for a unit that I was currently renting. Frank helped me find a small unit that still met my needs but stayed within my budget. He was extremely helpful, courteous, and patient making the whole experience painless.

From the phone with Angela up until we finally got to the office, our experience with her was beyond what we could have imagined. She had a lot of aloha, and made things very easy for us. Aloha! We used extra storage in Kihei for 7 months when we moved into a place with WAY too much furniture and there was no where to put anything. My husband and I were in and out of it quite a bit. The gate access and hours are great. Most importantly the staff has always been friendly, listens, and is helpful. I made a huge mistake and found that I put a bag of rice flower in a bag w unopened bottles of olive oil and wow was that a bad decision. They were very understanding and willing to do whatever they could on their end to make the situation better. I highly recommend Extra Storage. They are the best on the island of Maui.

Account setup was quick and easy and the customer care is great. The facility and upkeep could use some work. When I first got to the facility there was a strong scent of urine in the hallway that got even stronger in the elevator. After a few trips trying to hold my breath in the elevator, I noticed there was a large insulated cup in the corner of the elevator. As I approach the cup the smell grows stronger. It was filled with cloudy yellow liquid which had a nasty looking film on the top of it. As if it had been there quite a while. I was thoroughly disgusted when I realized that it was probably a cup of urine. Later, I had to go to the bathroom pretty badly but had more rearranging to do in my unit. I asked at the front desk with desperation in my voice but was told there is no customer restroom. The lanes for parking get pretty narrow when more than one large vehicle are present which means if one person parks carelessly, theres no getting a u-haul through. Also there are no guides or painted lines helping people to park correctly. There are also cones in place to keep people from driving all the way around the facility which makes you exit, turn around and enter again if you are circling the buildings to find parking. Again, excellent customer service earned these stars but if I had taken a tour prior to opening my account, I would probably take my business elsewhere.

Great Location, Great Security, and Most of All Great Staff. I was very impressed with this storage center and also really appreciated the customer service I received from two staff members especially. Their names were Angela and Frank. They really portrayed exceptional customer service throughout the entire process.This location in off of Ohukai in Kihei is the best storage space you can get period for your money. Honestly it isn’t t even expensive and they give round the clock security featuring a coded gate, and nighttime security personnel. It also makes me feel more comfortable that the staff are down to earth and portray trustworthiness. These are qualities you want if you are going to leave your belongings somewhere. Great place I had to name drop frank and Angela that way they receive recognition they deserve.

Just received a notice in mail (07/01/21) that effective 07/29/21, my monthly rate (for a relatively small space) is being INCREASED by over $60.00 more a month!!!! Greedy corporation! Shame on Extra Space Storage.

Space was good for the price, unit was stained with motor oil / grease on the ground from previous tenants which i understand is hard to clean up but could have been cleaned better.

I had a very positive experience in renting a storage unit at Extra Space in Kihei recently. I made the reservation online and was called by the manager, Brenda within a couple of days with much helpful information. When we arrived at the site she showed us the space, along with another option, and took as much time as needed to ensure our satisfaction.The process was efficient and expeditious and handled very professionally. Brenda is an asset to the company and the company provides fair value for the cost. Hopefully an update of this review in the future will reaffirm the 5 star rating, in my opinion, that Extra Space deserves.

I had to get a storage place to store my personal items from the sale of my home, with a friends help transporting my items to the storage facility. The help and support provided was amazing during a difficult period for us all - COVID-19s quarantine requirements. To manage all of this remotely and be able to trust the person on the other side was just a gift.Angela, keep up the fantastic work!

The woman named BRENDA is the store manager. This place is a SCAM. She is probably the RUDEST person I’ve ever met. Her motto must be “I am always right, screw the customers”. Be careful when you reserve a space online because when you show up she will say it’s much higher then what you actually thought it would be. What a SCAM. Also while I was waiting Brenda was dealing with a woman who left in tears of frustration. I felt so bad for that woman. TERRIBLE customer service.

I recently visited Hawaii for the first time! What an amazing place ❤️ I stopped at Extra Space to pick up boxes to ship back to Wisconsin for all of my souvenirs. (Cheaper than extra baggage on the plane). Was greeted by a worker named Brenda. She was an absolute pleasure to deal with. She helped me find the right sized boxes and saved me money!

Really enjoyed working with this company because it is obvious the employees cared about the customers. I worked with Brenda M to secure my storage facility and she was very upbeat and personable. Renting a storage unit is very mundane but Brenda was very happy and cheerful and made it a very quick and enjoyable experience. They were extremely helpful with our short term storage needs. We only needed the storage for a day to keep our luggage since we had a late flight. The customer service at check-in was very helpful!

Best storage on the island in my opinion. They have real elevators. All the other places Ive seen have material lifts and some of those are pretty shakey. They have really good access hours too.
