What a cute little shop! The best shakes ever, of course, made with Blue Bell! Love the tiny dog greeter. A nice selection of stringed instruments for sale. Love the old fashioned toys and candy. Highly recommend!

Great local spot in Kilgore. Very good selection of ice cream and jellies. My first visit was during Cruise Night in downtown Kilgore. I didnt have the chance to visit the music/guitar side of the business, but I will be back for sure. Had a great time here! Very friendly staff too!

I love going to get icecream here they serve blue bell products the owner is always soooo sweet and I love using my punch card as well been coming here since it opening and will continue the atmosphere is so nice too like a old timey ice-cream parlor

Always 5 stars at the Mercantile! The owners are the salt of the earth; always kind and welcoming. Not only do they have ice cream, they have a great selection of nostalgic toys and yummy jams, too! My favorite part is getting to play the board games with my son. Im so glad we have this treasure tucked away in Kilgore. Its one my favorite places to visit : )

Time to update this review.Fred and Vivian are the owners and are outstanding people.The shop offers several flavors of Blue Bell Ice cream along with a general store field where they sell fresh made jellies and soup mixes jams etc and of course the guitar store in the back!The second Saturday of each month they host a music jam, mostly bluegrass but you will hear an occasional country or gospel tune. Always a good time!Stop in, see them say hi to Fred and Vivian you will be glad you did.Roland

We love this place. Our sons receive excellent piano instruction here and the milk shakes are really good. The selection of artisan level sauces, syrups, and canned items is yummy.

This is an amazing little store hidden among the boutique shoppes of Kilgore. First, they serve one of the best chili dogs ever! Second, the owners and ladies that work there all have amazing personalities and are eager to greet ya with a smile. Third, it reminds me of an old general store with the penny candy. Love the vibe. And last but not least, the store mascot, Rosie, is by far worth the trip in. This makes the perfect lunch date for couples married a year or 50years. Truly one of my faves in Kilgore!!

This place awesome!! Its just like a blast from the past ice cream parlor. They do malts and shakes. They have a awesome banana split!! We went during the Trick or Treat downtown and they gave all the kids a coupon for a free scoop of ice cream. They also have a variety of old fashion candy and sodas!

I’ve visited the shop many time with my family and we all love it. The customer service is amazing and the prices are even better. This is exactly what every downtown needs.

We came here for the first time today and had ice cream. It is a very nice place and the owners are super friendly. It has ice cream, hot dogs and a soda fountain. They also offer music lessons. We really enjoyed sitting at the table outside. It is an awesome addition to downtown Kilgore and family friendly.

Neat store fairly new to downtown Kilgore. They have a soda fountain counter with everything from single scoop ice cream cones to malts, sundaes and floats. Inside there is also a variety of items for sale such as Kilgore themed mugs, jewelry, and jars of jam and preserves. Was able to sit outside at patio table and enjoy my ice cream listening to bluegrass music. Store also offers music lessons and has performers some nights as well.

Only one employee had a face covering on the other one did not. Breathing all over the ice cream. The place was packed with people waiting for ice cream and no one had a mask on or 6ft apart. I got a Prom Queen that was supposed to be a Sunday. It was 2 scoops of strawberry Ice cream in a paper cup. My husband got a banana split. His came with 1 vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate Scoops NO strawberry, chocolate or pineapple syrup. He had to ask for nuts, for almost $7 that split looked Really bad. DQ MAKES BEETER SPLITS AND SUNDAYS

I love the owners! My fiance came in to check out a classical guitar and the gentleman let him play for a while. Eventually, the owner brought out a violin and started to duet with the guitar-playing! It meant a lot to my fiance and was really cool to listen to. (We went home with a new guitar, lol.)Ms. Vivian at the counter was very sweet too. As far as Im concerned, this place is now the go-to for icecream in downtown!
