I have been going to this particular Mavis for 20 years, I cant say Ive ever had a bad experience, Especially within the last 2 years, All of my experiences have been GREAT, Matt, Vinny, Randy and Luis have all gone above and beyond the call of duty, I understand the Auto world and its hectic to say the least, I know these men stress and even under pressure they remain very polite very helpful and as I said they go above and beyond, As for the waiting, Im an understanding person, I understand that things happen and things dont always go the way we want them to, I dont like waiting however things happen its life, Mechanics run into issues as we all do, They do jobs and theres more wrong than what was expected, sometimes they may have to have parts delivered, The work itself takes longer, I understand this and I patiently wait because I know they are going to give me exceptional service and Ill wait for that, I personally would recommend this Mavis and remember treat others how you want to be treated, Be patient with gentleman, They are exceptional I love how my fiance and I are treated, Matt, Randy, Vinny and Luis treat us great I cant thank them enough for the service they provide, Thank you guys

I ended up with a flat tire in Kingston about a week and a half ago and got towed to Mavis. Im so lucky I ended up here and was helped by Vinny, the manager. He quickly ordered tires for my Tesla. As it was going to take at least a couple of days for them to arrive, he realized I was in a bind as it was 5:25pm on a Thursday afternoon and rental car companies were able to close at 5:30pm (I was staying with family an hour away in the mountains). Vinny went above and beyond the call of duty and offered me a ride to the local Enterprise down the road. As we pulled up, it was past their closing time, but he was able to convince the Enterprise staff locking up to give me a car.Without Vinny, I would have been stranded in Kingston. This encounter reminded me that there are good people in the world. If I could give 10 stars, I would! He turned what was quite a stressful situation into one that was very positive and Im so grateful for him and his team. I also got the best price on the replacement tires, and I will make it a point to get serviced with Mavis Kingston whenever we are in the area.

I revieved an online price quote for$471with everything included. After the tires were installed, the price was$620. Before the tires were installed I had shown a price quote from BJs for$489 including the tax. I was told they would match the price. Which they didnt honor! Mavis tire reached out to me and said they would refund the difference. After emailing the manager still havent received the difference in money. I will never do business with Mavis tire nor would I recommend them! A very dishonest company!

Please do not come here. Went in to have my brakes changed they had to change brakes, rotors and calipers, they seized up right after on my way home so they had to do it all over and again they seized brought it back. Argued with them for a couple days finally refunded me but they don’t care if they kill you or if they do the work correctly. HORRIBLE PLACE

We have been to this Mavis before and have gone back because of the professional service staff, product choice and overall positive experience. It takes time to have tires put on no matter where you go so its nice to have stores to browse in within walking distance while you wait!

Our bad for giving these guys as many chances as we have. Despite the good deals on tires, weve never actually left happy.They overcharged me ($80) for an alignment they told me they couldnt do on the first car.On the second car, a newer BMW, they broke a tire rod bolt; not a big deal, but the grease handprints on the cream interior was.On the truck, we almost left without hub caps.Today we drove 40 minutes in two vehicles for an 8am appointment that we were told would be in and out for one of the cars, to be told to come back in a few hours because there were too many walk-ins.If you can afford to, take your car elsewhere, to a place that takes pride in their work, because these guys are clearly not paid enough to.

I was quoted 1 price, given an appointment time for the next day at 1. I arrived at 1:01 and they took me in at 2:13!Then, Im standing at the counter all by myself, card in hand, and someone walks up next to me wanting service and the guy behind the counter looked around me in an effort to wait on that person which I corrected.I was quoted a price out the door when I made my appointment and the guy added on $30! I said, No, I was quoted a price of $30 less, told I would get an email shortly confirming my order; I NEVER RECEIVED MY QUOTE! The guy said they never do that because it depends on the county you have the work done which made NO SENSE! I told him I had wanted the email for just such a reason to prevent problems such as this one. I will NEVER GO TO MAVIS TIRE or STS Tire (which is affiliated with MAVIS).

If it was possible to put a 0 stars I would. Scheduled the appointment last week for my older model Mercedes, appointment was for today. went in for scheduled appointment tires ordered were not correct sizes. Front and back tires are different sizes. Needed to reorder back tires. Of course changing the price. When I go to pick up my car now 6 hours later, and $200 higher than what was quoted, the alignment which was promised again in the first quote was not done and it stated it was declined by me. Not only did I never decline an alignment but who in the world buys four brand new tires for a Mercedes and does not align them? I will now take the car somewhere else for an alignment and I will have them place my spare tire where it belongs in my trunk because they were unable to even do this properly. Oh and did I mention also get the oil change that I did decline when the price changed by $200 not including the oil change that was originally included. Dont waste your time or money at this place

The service was awful. It took 2 hours to change our tires, 30 minutes more than they estimated and at longer than any other tire change we’ve received.The men working here do not know how to wear a mask safely, ranging from chin straps to exposed noses.They were also extremely condescending and rude at every step of the process.

I wasnt even a customer of Mavis and they managed to damage my car anyway! At about 1:45pm on Saturday, February 6th, I was sitting near the parking lot of Mavis and Burger King having lunch with my husband. I was parked next to a blue pickup truck with a Semper Fi sticker on the back windshield. An employee of Mavis came out to get this car, and as he got in, he hit my car with the customers car door. My husband and I got out of my car to inspect the damage, and the employee lied directly to us and said he did not do that. He then tried to open the door wide multiple times to prove the door did not hit my car, saying look, I didnt do that, the door doesnt reach, which we had to tell him to stop doing, as he was about to hit my car again. There was a very clear chip in the front side of my car, as well as a noticeable dent. We told the employee not to worry about it (although we were both quite angry at this point) so he could take the car in and stop trying to cover his tracks. I decided to go inside and tell the employees inside what happened, not so much because I was concerned about my car (it is on the older side), but because I did not want the man whose door hit my car to see a very obvious silver paint mark on his door and be upset. The employee at the counter stated to give me 30 seconds, and he went into the back to look at the car. Never mind the fact that none of the employees were wearing their masks correctly (or at all, but that is a story for another day). When he came out, he said it looks OK, youre good. The experience was laughable, especially the employee outside who lied to us about not hitting my car. I was sitting in the car looking directly at him when he did it! I would not have been so annoyed had the employee recognized that he had hit my car and apologized, but the fact that he attempted to lie to me and say the dent couldnt possibly have been caused by the door was disrespectful (and, lets be frank, I wasnt born yesterday).To the person with the blue pickup truck with the Semper Fi sticker who took their car in to get serviced, I will apologize on Maviss behalf because, based on the couldnt-care-less attitude of the gentleman behind the counter, they probably did not tell you about the damage to your lower drivers side door. Im sure thats not what you expected when you went to get tires.I would go so far as to include a picture, but lets get real here, based on the attitude of the employees, they would probably look me directly in the eyes and say that the Burger King himself hit my car with his enormous Whopper. At least my cheeseburger was tasty.

This Mavis is horrible I called on Monday to get an oil change and an inspection the time was set for 9:30 AM. Then at 8:45 the location called said they were backed up and unable to the work until 12:00. I arrived at 12 only to be told once again no we are backed up we can’t do it we will reschedule you for Friday 9:00 AM There was 1 person sitting and waiting. Then Friday morning at 8:45 they call again and ask me drop the car off. I couldn’t do that as I had no ride and the person said well because of covid that wasn’t an option. Huh that’s funny cause on Friday someone was sitting and waiting. Horrible customer service if I could give 0 stars I would I will never go back there again.

This place defies common sense. I made an appointment online 3 days in advance to get a nail pulled out of my tire and plugged. After I made the online appointment, I received a call from someone at the shop confirming my appointment for the date and time I made. The gentleman was very nice and polite. When I went into Midas on the date and time of my appointment, they told me they were not accepting appointments and they were only doing first come first serve, which is odd because I got the confirmation call only 2 days prior.... he then went on to say I would have to wait 2 hrs to get it looked at. This is the reason I made the appointment? This service should have taken 20 minutes! The gentleman behind the desk was super rude and didnt care that I had made the appointment. I dont recommend coming here unless you want to wait all day to get your car looked and and recieve rude service!

I dont write reviews, but after the experience I just had at Mavis Tire, I feel compelled to. Im from out of town and was looking for a place to get the tire rotated on my truck. I called ahead to check price and estimated time. I was told 60-90 minutes. So, I immediately drove over, and was told it would be 3 hours. Since it was 2pm they said it would be better to come back the next morning. So, I came back at 9am and dropped off my truck. I was told it would take 60-90 minutes (again). By noon, I had hear nothing, so I called. They said I was next on the lift and it would only take 15 minutes to do the job. They would call when it was done....2:30pm and still nothing. So, I go back to the store (I had been sitting at a coffee shop all day). I get there, the truck was just put on the lift. They assure me it would only take 10 minutes. An hour later and my truck still isnt done. So, Im 6+ hours into a wait for a 15 minute tire rotation. Im so upset that Im writing this from the waiting room. I hope I get my truck back at some point in the near future. One can only hope at this point. On top of everything, the front counter staff has been rude about the whole thing. Their response, I cant control whats going on back there. So, I guess if you want to go to a place where no one is in control, and time means nothing, this might be the tire store for you! As for me...Ill look elsewhere.

Update: Randy is a very nice guy. He called me after I reached out to corporate and let me know that Mavis would fix my transfer case. It was about a 2 week process with out my vehicle and a hassle at first. Ultimately, Mavis took accountability for the damages to my vehicle. I’m glad it’s not a repair that I had to fix because it would’ve been costly. For those 2 weeks with out my vehicle I was given a rental, which was great. I’m not happy I had to go through such great lengths to get my car repaired but you can’t shoot the messenger. Randy made sure any issue I had with my car was fixed and they even gave me a free inspection, they also replaced a ball joint. Thank you Mavis for fixing my car.I’ve always loved bringing my car here because it was quick reliable service. I purchased my first SUV and after a year I needed new tires. I came to Mavis the service was fast and prompt and they replaced my tires on the front of the car. I drove off. I was extremely happy because I replaced my tires and it felt good to get things done with out a problem. After a month or so because of covid and being quarantined my car started driving funny. I called Mavis let them know that my car was driving funny and they told me to come in. I went in and was told that the wrong tires were placed on the front of my car. So for an entire month i had 2 different sets of tire sizes on my suv. They replaced the tires told me my car was fine and sent me on my way. After a couple of weeks my car started to make scrapping noises when driving and it smelled like something was burning. I brought my car to my mechanic he let me know that my transfer case went on my vehicle. My transfer case having everything to do with my AWD on my vehicle, I called Mavis on Monday letting them know. They got me in touch with Randy who is the GM. He immediately picked up my car from my mechanic and sent someone to my house to pick up my car keys. They told me they were filing a claim through their security department and that I would get taken care of. They kept my car for 3 days. I get a call from Randy stating that the security department denied the claim and that Mavis tires will not be taking any liability. He offered to tow my car back to me after 3 days and to refund me the purchase of my tires, which was a complete slap in my face. I’m highly upset. I’m a single mother who now has to afford a repair for a transfer case when my vehicle drove perfectly fine before i brought it to Mavis. Randy told me to take Mavis to small claims court. I’m just so appalled how I’m being treated as a long time customer with Mavis. I have also contacted BBB, I will be speaking to an attorney because what is being done to rectify this situation is disgusting.Update: after Mavis took my car for 3 days they finally had a tow guy return my car but when the tow returned my car he said my battery was dead. Now I’m just so frustrated with Mavis negligence. Not only have they messed up my vehicle and I need a new transfer case but I also have to buy a battery because when they picked up my car it would turn on. Now it doesn’t. I need a resolution ASAP. I am not happy with the way I’m being treated especially during this pandemic!

I had an AWESOME experience at this Mavis location. They went out of their way to find the parts needed and initially couldnt find them. Upon a re-check w/ thier one supplier the parts were available. The car was done in an afternoon...ON A HOLIDAY WEEKEND. Many thanks to Scott and Chris for their customer care and Professionalism! I love this place. Every time I go in there with a problem with one of my vehicles, the staff works hard to find me the best prices on parts to give me the best deal. They are also great about getting it done even though I am usually going in there with an immediate problem. A couple of times now Ive been there long after the place closed because I showed up a half hour or so before it was closing because I was having an emergency. I own a very busy company that requires me to keep two vehicles on the road at all times. They have never let me down or let me miss one day of work. On top of all of that, they are all very friendly and respectful. I highly recommend Mavis in Kingston to anyone.

I really like these guys. Theyve always been helpful and, most important with a mechanic, trustworthy. Ill stop in to get basic services done and even a few big ones when a specialist isnt available. Theyve been able to take care of our VWs, Mazda, and Subaru and even my Geo Metro from back in the day. Maybe the nice thing is they dont hard sell anything. Maybe its nice that they keep electronic records of work done on my car so if I stop in while somewhere besides home they know my car. Maybe its because theyll send me to a place better equipped to handle a problem they cant. Maybe its because they do their best to get the work done as fast as possible. All I know is theyre the first place I go if theres something I need taken care of fast that I cant do myself.

May 28,2019 on our to for 14hrs drive from Hudson NY to Decatur IL for family emergency. We heard a weird noise and my car is shaking, we stop at Mavis in Kingston.Thats around 4:50 to 5pm the gentleman said they will check its the tire balance. They took us right away they fixed it. Im so happy with their services, friendly. I cant thank them enough we got here at Decatur Il. SafeWill definitely go back to there shop.Thank you so much for helping up and beyond. I arrived mid-afternoon with a slow leak and left before closing with a fixed tire for less than $20. Service team was super friendly, and I was duly warned that there would be a wait of several hours. The location is convenient for waiting; we were able to do some shopping and enjoy a meal at a nearby Panera, so no complaints.

I’ve had my car since 2013 and never had a problem with my struts. I came in for tires and was told I needed struts and of cause being my car is my second largest investment I had it done. After it was done my car was not the same. I brought my car back in and was told the problem was corrected. Less than a year later and my struts are shot. I work in the area and I am also a student. I depend on my car and I will never bring my car in there again. Also I will let my coworkers and classmates and friends know why I will never go there again!!!

Made an appointment for a week later, and was very explicit that I was going to wait when I come back, they said no problem!. Horrid. I have been here twice. Both times I made an appointment first thing in the morning(8 am - the earliest time available) to make sure I am first in and out. BOTH times I waited OVER 5 HOURS to have four tires changed! Both times they reassured me since I was first in it shouldnt take more than an hour, and throughout the day they repeatedly said they were almost done. I sat and watched my vehicle sit on the lift for hours with no one touching it. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, SAVE YOUR TIME!

We brought our familys truck here to have new tires put onto it, when we got the truck back we were looking everything over and the rims were severely damaged. We were told the rim was too thin as an excuse. The truck was 7 months old and we never had an issue with the rims before leaving here. There were chunks missing from it, and they were dented severly. This is due to workers being neglectful, it has NOTHING to do with the quality of metal, or how thin the rim is. Its neglect. We will never be returning here again. I do not reccomend this place to anyone. Unless you want your vehicle to be returned in even worse condition.

Their service is really not very good. I had an appointment to put on new snow tires at 9am. Dropped the car off and then did some shopping (my wife also drove down in our other car). After a couple hours, we went back to check the status. The car had not even been brought into the shop. I asked the service rep for status and he said it would be another couple hours. I asked him if a having an appointment meant anything at all, his response was, yes, but we still have cars with an 8am appointment waiting to be worked on, bub. First of all, my name is not bub and secondly, if you still have cars with an appointment from 3 hours earlier that have not been seen, then appointments are meaningless.At this point, we decided to just go home and wait for them to get to the car. They finally called us at 2:30pm to let us know that the car was ready. So, with an appointment, it took 5 1/2 hours from them to do the tires.Truthfully, I would not mind having to wait all day for the tires to be done, but they need to be honest about it instead of giving the impression that an appointment means anything. When I dropped the car off, I would have appreciated someone saying that it would be at least 4 hours before they could get the car in.After we picked up the car and drove it home, my wife noticed that the summer tires has not been put in the car! We had to call them back and they managed to find the tires (we think, there is some confusion about whether or not they are the right tires). Now we have to go down there again and pick up the tires.

Several years ago I bought a set of 4 tires from them - they wore out much faster than the guarantee - so I brought the car back to them - they refused to honor the guarantee and then after I had the car on the rack and the wheels were off to change them, they told me the price was going to be more than quoted as they didnt have the tire in stock that I requested. I ended up having them put them on as I was leaving town and didnt have time to run around to get them replaced.Fast forward to now - once again, the tires are wearing much faster than the guarantee. I am not a crazy driver and I can see no reason for them to be wearing at this rate.Im not ever going to try to go back to get this rectified with them. I would NEVER use this company again.

Failed to properly torque the lug nuts after installing new tires. After they spent 3 days on a promised 1 day repair of the damaged lug studs, they again failed to properly torque the lug nuts. Never going back, and never may be too soon.

Told me it would take a hour for my balance, rotation and inspection. Two hours later my vehicle hasnt even entered the building yet. So I got dropped off about a half hour later and my vehicle was inside, thought great this will only take a few more minutes. Nope... There wasnt even anyone working on my truck. I saw one person look under the hood for about 45 seconds then walk away. They then move it to the alignment lift where I watched the tech jabbing the sensors onto, and scratching my wheels then the sensors falling off. Checked the alignment and told me I needed it done. Which with their readings, it wasnt far enough out to call for one. The gentleman told me the total without showing me the invoice and I payed because I had other things planned for the day and needed to get out of there. The gentleman then hands me the invoice and I noticed he over charged me for my inspection. (NY State inspection for 2010 and older diesels is $10, he charged me the full $21. Once I mentioned it he got a manager and they gave me my $11 back. Once I got to my truck I noticed a dent in the side of it.... At this point I said screw it and am going to have it taken care of myself. Oh and they counter balanced a wheel instead of pulling the improperly placed weight and redoing it.But hey... My wheels are balanced....

If I could leave zero stars I would. My friend got a nail in her tire, at the edge of the tread, all it needed was a plug. Unmounted the wheel, replaced it with the spare, took the wheel/tire to Mavis who said, Its in the sidewall, cannot be fixed, buy a new tire. Bull S#!T!We retrieved the wheel, took it to my house, and five minutes and a tire plug later, all is well. Good deeds done cheap.I feel sorry for anybody who has to depend on the blatant lies of Mavis Tire.

These people were efficient and extremely friendly! They all seem so genuine and they really helped me out (even outside of the car work). I had needed my car to pick something up in the Plaza and my car was already on the lift. One of their employees actually personally drove me to get what I needed to get.It was a quick, personable experience and I highly reccomend them to anyone!

I have been going to Mavis in Kingston and Rhinebeck for years and years. Ive never had a problem getting my cars serviced. At the time, all the work on my car was done by Scott, who is now a service manager. He is always up front and honest about the service my car needs, and he takes care of it... Your manager Louis is just as great, offering a good price and a reliable time scale of work and making sure my questions are answered. So happy to see Scott and Louis together in the same shop.. They are a dream team if I ever saw one. Will continue to be a loyal customer for years to come :) thank you Mavis for keeping me safe all these years!!!

Nothing against the staff here, they are friendly and just doing their jobs. But going here (like dealerships, Jiffy Lube etc) means you will be told you need things that you do not need. The last time I went there for an inspection, and they said I needed 4 new tires. So I said, ok fail it. Then they came back and said, oh sorry, we were wrong, it passed. I finally took advice from friends and went to family owned VanKleeks and have had a great experience with them for several years now.

I RECENTLY BROUGHT MY EXPEDITION TO THIS MAVIS IN KINGSTON ON ULSTER AVE FOR AN $80 ALIGNMENT AND AS I WAS DRIVING HOME MY RIM AND TIRE CAME OFF ALMOST CAUSING A MAJOR ACCIDENT. FORTUNATELY NOBODY WAS HURT, I CALLED THE CORPORATE OFFICE OF MAVIS AND SPOKE TO A RANDY BRENT(REGIONAL MANAGER) WHO WAS RUDE AND CRUEL, HE TOLD ME THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE AND ARE NOT TAKING CARE OF ANY OF THE DAMAGES. I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS SHOP EVER AGAIN AND I HOPE NOBODY ELSE DOES. ILL BE SEEING THEM IN COURT SHORTLY
