This bagel shop never disappoints! Still as good as ever, i live across the river but have occasionally come here for years when i need to fulfill my bagel cravings. In a time where bagel shops seem to be cutting costs by making bagels smaller and skimping on cream cheese, Sunrise bagels does not compromise on their quality, and continues to keep their prices low in comparison to others. Awesome, friendly staff, always busy, so call ahead might be your best bet if in a time crunch. Best bagel place around, glad to continue being a satisfied customer here.

Have been eating food from Sunrise for years! Walking distance from work, so my coworkers and I love to grab lunch from there. BEST CHICKEN SALAD AND POTATO SALAD!! Bagels are fresh and delicious. Cash only, but they have an ATM in the store if needed. Definitely call ahead if youre in a rush, they are always busy. Highly recommend for breakfast or lunch!

There are many varieties to pick and being as they are also a deli it is ideal for a quick breakfast or lunch spot. Everything is always fresh, made to order and the staff are super friendly. Cash only!Definitely scratches some of the NYC bagel-deli itch if you have one.IMO, this is much preferred over the $8 bagel sandwiches you can find uptown. Here, its ~$4 for a breakfast sandwich on a fresh-made bagel.The only drawback is that the bagels are pretty large, and the default sandwich is one egg; the full sandwich experience tastes more like ham + bagel rather than ham + egg + bagel by default. Its absolutely worth the little bit extra to request another egg.

GO HERE! This is exactly what you want from a bagel place. You can sit if you’d like but most people get there bagels to go. These bagels are huge and super delicious NY style bagels. We got an egg and cheese (on cinnamon raisin) and bacon egg and cheese (on everything) and they were ready in 5 mins.

I think Ive only ever gotten one wrong order and they immediately fixed the situation and told me to keep the wrong order. They are always kind and will always be my favorite breakfast spot in the Hudson Valley.

Sunrise has the best bagels I have ever eaten! They are always fresh and they are generous with the cream cheese. That being said, they seem very unorganized. I have been going there for years and they have never established an order here and pay here system which is implied but not made obvious. Patrons frequently ask each other, have you ordered yet? Also orders are not always accurate so if getting food to go, CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE! Lastly, as a courtesy to those who have never visited; THEY ARE A CASH ONLY BUSINESS.

Staff members standing at the front counter should be wearing masks at this point in the pandemic. Post holiday rates are really bad. This shouldnt need to be said at this point. Its literally mandated by New York state law.

I moved to Philadelphia from the Hudson Valley 12 years ago. Because the bagels here are so terrible, often, I will wake up in a cold sweat just screaming “SUNRISE BAGELS!” My wife kept asking me, why I do yell about a bagel shop from my childhood in my sleep. I told her I couldn’t explain. I would just have to show her. So we packed up the kids and the dog and drove all the way home...a pilgrimage of sorts.As we crested the ridge of Ulster Avenue, the sun literally rose above Sunrise; a testament and a tribute all in one. We placed our orders and sat down as a family. As excited as I was, I balked on taking the first bite...I wanted to see the reaction in my family’s eye as they bit into their very first bite, something I wish I could experience for the first time.What happened next was a defining moment in my life. As my wife looked at me dead in my eyes and said “...it’s good,” a pregnant pause overcame the table. I feigned an excuse of leaving my phone in the car and as I pulled out of the parking lot and got back on 87, my dog and I never looked back.If you see my wife or kids, tell them this story. If you ain’t Sunrisin’ you’re Sunsettin’ ya dig?

Incredibly delicious and HUGE bagels for a fair price. These guys know how to make a bagel and no matter what you put on it they always get it right. Ive noticed a lot of places will mess up your order if its out of the ordinary but I often come here and load up my bagels with everything from pesto cream cheese to roasted red peppers and sliced cheese. They have lox and cream cheese bagels of course or just grab a breakfast sandwich.

I used to live in Kingston and got bagels there all the time. Now I live in Saugerties and took a ride down to pick up a couple dozen. I think they are the best. They freeze well if you wrap them individually in foil. Make sure you bring cash because they dont take credit cards or debit cards, but they do have an ATM by the door.

Let me just say first and foremost this is the best bagel in Kingston. They are all made onsite and most times your getting them still warm. The sandwiches they make with the bagels are enormous. They also make homemade soups which are also delicious.

My Husband and I have been coming here for over 20 years and now our 5 year old son is hooked too! Their number is saved in our phone and we call our egg sandwiches in ahead of time so they are ready when we get there! I recommend this method especially on a weekend morning because this is one popular breakfast spot. It has a special place in our hearts and I hope we all get to enjoy it for 20+ more years to come!
