Excellent service and fresh products. The plates are well prepared and tasted fresh. Tried the frittata of the day and the quinoa bowl and Id recommend both. Theres no seating inside but a cozy patio, Ill be back to try the rest of the menu. Pricey compared with the offers around but well worth it.
Quality of the food here is excellent, organic and vegan options. I do think its a little expensive to go on a regular basis but if you want to treat yourself to something flavorful and healthy this is an excellent option. The salad was so refreshing but with so many flavors naturally it didnt need any dressing, very well put together.
A cozy cafe with solid latte art, yummy house baked goodies and simple but hearty savory dishes. I tried the double chocolate + fig scone infused with earl grey, lightly sweet with the tea aroma. Brekkie sandwich is a bit heavy but very satisfying. I love their mugs! I would love to get a couple of them if the price is also friendly;)
Waaaay overpriced. $10 for two, not terribly good, donuts. At least they could have been good. The invasion of the hipsters into Kingston is only on if the quality is good. And even there, maybe $2.00 a donut or even $3.00 a donut?
The coffee is amazing!! Love love this place. Im definitely addicted. You cant go wrong with any items on the menu and the backed goods are so yummy. The lavender latte is my jam ❣️
Got a terrible experience in your place today. The girl who made the coffee talked very rudely. I just never come back again! She was very rude to all clients. When we told her that she was absolutely not friendly, she simply kept silent. She shouted to customers that there could be no more than 3 people in the cafe and everyone must have a face mask. I understand all this and it is correct. But you need to be friendly
Perfect food and drinks.Bad attitude of employees.Service needs owner’s attention. We came all the way from the city and were treated not good. We brought friends and spend close to $200. And would definitely think twice to come again.
Excellent food. Staff was so beautiful and friendly. Everything I ordered was ready super quick and tasted delicious!! :)
On experience this place is a 5. Although cold, there was outdoor seating which gets sun in the morning. The shop is great and the ceramic selection is beautiful. The espresso drinks are good. The sandwich was delicious (egg and cheese with pesto). I would recommend asking to go light on the pesto. The taste overpowers the sandwich when you are eating but also your mask will take the smell if you put it on right after finishing.
Super cute Insta worthy place with good food and coffee, however the service is incredibly slow, absolutely rediculous. They werent that busy, only taking 4 people at a time in to order, yet somehow it took us over 30 minutes to receive egg sandwiches. People received their food, ate it and left well before us and others got theirs...And we werent the only ones waiting for a long time either..Forr the price, it was a little upsetting....
Great food and pastries and random assortment of provisions and kitchenware.👌🏻One of the best places around.
Delicious lavender latte, goat milk caramels and gluten free sweet potato chocolate muffin
The chocolate maple cold brew is probably the best drink I’ve ever had 🤗 - my husband and I ordered two each to go because we live so far away lol
Over-priced and under-seasoned.I really wanted to like Village Coffee. Ive tried them several times now, and while it isnt terrible, I would call it consistently mediocre. All the pastries taste like bread and nothing else. I dont think they use any kind of spices or even salt in their food; ever single thing Ive ordered was missing a vague something that would have made it tasty.Drinks are all expensive and tiny. Even plain loose leaf tea.The last straw was the turnover I ordered today that was soggy and missing most of its crust. Sorry, but cant recommend it all.
Coffee was great, food left a little to be desired. This is not the place to get a traditional BEC sandwich, rather its more of a coffee and a scone place
Good coffee! Nice staff!
I love a good treat. And their coffees and baked goods are good. Been 10x and food is actually uneven - sometimes good, sometimes oily or limp or slimy. Figured it was a function of COVID and let it go...But eventually I had to check myself for other reasons. Out of control gentrification can do terrible things, and to pay MORE for coffee and treats in Kingston is obscene and harmful to the city.So I go elsewhere.
Breakfast options are wide, high quality ingredients
Thought the coffee was ok but overpriced as well as the other items. (All that Java is the best around). Sort of felt it wasnt authentic and Kingston, but someone trying to be Brooklyn. BTW way, I lived in Brooklyn and if I want Brooklyn I would be living there still.
Have been going here for a few years now. Vc&g isnt the cheapest and the wait times arent the shortest, but I keep finding myself returning, because there is nowhere around quite like it. In my opinion Its the best coffee in the area and its clear to me they put a lot of thought and effort into crafting their goods. I recommend this place any time it comes up in conversation.
This place is down the street from my house and occasionally we stop here for groceries and prepared foods. We should more often because it’s so convenient. I got home today with a baguette and my boyfriends 7 year old son asked me to “give that place 5 stars because this is the best baguette I’ve ever had”, so here I am. The kid really loves his bread.
This place is the real deal. Perfectly prepared classic coffees as well as fun unexpected variations (shaken chocolate maple cold brew?!!) and truly delicious breakfast and lunch items plus rotating specials (a chili glazed pork belly bowl was dynamite when we last went.) They have glorious local bread. Really good pastry (breakfast bun is a must.) And they allow cute well behaved dogs. 👍🏻
The best coffee in Kingston. Possibly the best coffee in the area. Breakfast sandwich is insanely good. Chia pudding, overnight oats, all excellent. So what is the catch? Price. Very expensive. Could be a get what you pay for kinda thing.
Great little store and good tasting coffee
The best coffee joint in Kingston. Really vibrant joint with amazing coffee. They have Sandie hes and bakery items too, and they are all phenomenal. I personally really like their bread butter jam. I know it sounds normal but their butter is insanely good. They also source fresh produce from farms nearby!!!
If youre into locavore menus, fabulous homemade baked goods, and a friendly laid-back Aussie vibe this is the place to eat. Or to shop your groceries, espresso drinks, and even dry goods. We pick up meals here all the time but our Thanksgiving feast was really special. Deserves many many stars!
Fire water that is very good. Get coffee and enjoy the beautiful weather upon us!
Amazing maple cold brew!
Trendy shop with delicious croissant sandwiches. Highly recommended if youre nearby!
You cant get a latte at 5 pm, when they are open until 8... Because they already shut down the espresso machine for the night..Updated my rating because the owner took the time to respond. Overall its a small Cafe with a ton of heart.. Great options for food, delicious whole bean coffee to brew at home..
Great lil coffee shop with lots of yummy local goods. Food and beverages are always great. 🍓❤🌈
Update to give more detail:I live out of town but have given this place a try a couple times since it looks good and the reviews were high.Maple coffees are good but pricey for the amount you get. I tried the goat caramel latte (acquired taste), not recommended.I tried the Raspberry muffin, flavor good but very dry & only could eat a small portion of it since most of it stuck to the paper lining. The bread pudding was not good at all, also it said online it was heated but it was not. I cant even describe the taste but definitely it was not good, I tossed it.Also due to covid they only allow one person in at a time even if you online order so I would recommend curbside so you dont have to stand outside in the rain and get soaked like my husband did. This should be mentioned on the site when you order for pickup.I would recommend uptown coffee, or good ol Starbucks. :) but I will try again if they make updates!
The coffee was not good. The cashier was rude. Only decent thing was the doughnut, but not even good enough to go back for.
Best coffee in Kingston that Ive found so far.
Superb! A wide sellection of great stuff and a friendly staff. Picked up a couple of GF desserts that were excellent. Very flavorful with just a hint of sweetness. Cant believe I didnt find them earlier.
I and my boyfriend and one our friend went to see another friend in Kingston. We accidentally found this place and ordered food and coffee online and when we came to pick up our order we were shocked! Beautiful, craft and cozy place with so many goods in there! I literally was picking my fingers after I finished with my food. It’s definitely the best place to get right and delicious food!
We got a maple lemonade and cold brew coffee. Prices were reasonable, and the drinks were perfect. (Lemonade was very tart, but that’s how I like it! If you like a lemonade that’s more sweet than sour, it may be a bit much for you.)Due to COVID, they only allow one customer/household inside at a time, but we ordered within a few minutes. They allow customers to use their bathroom, which was clean.
Love this shop!
The coffee was impeccable. Unfortunately they did not have a particular paleo item I ordered online but they made good for it by substituting something else on house. Well definitely go back
The omelet is truly excellent. Great coffee, beautiful home goods, and wonderful service.
10 sugars and its still a bad cup. I should have went to McGowens masonary break room. They have better coffee. A laborer watched me touch myself on the sidewalk. Two words for anyone thinking about trying this place. MONKEY JOES.
The squash toast today 12/10/20 was amazing. And the pumpkin spice latte is perfect.
Hidden gem in Midtown Kingston. Locally made goodies for purchase, including ceramics. Delicious treats and coffee and a dope oudoor sitting area. Plus, baristas with excellent taste in music! Combo Chimbita was playing when I visited 😎😉
This is a phenomenal coffee shop. I grew up in Rhinebeck and am so elated to find this gem, far later than I should have! They have a wonderful selection of local produce, meats, and craft items. The staff was lovely and recommended the banana bread, one of the best I’ve ever had. Coffee great too!Could easily be one of the best coffeeshops in Brooklyn, if it were there. Very excited to go back and try more.
Friendly staff, delicious goods and excellent coffee. Highly recommended 👌
I’m surprised there aren’t more critical reviews of this place. Unrealistic prices for mediocre food and coffee. Kingston has many other coffee shops and bakeries that have been here a while. Support them instead.
Best coffee and coffee goods in Ulster County, plus sells great local produce, meats, groceries and sustainable cleaning products. Just the best all around.
Nice little coffee shop.
Hip coffee shop that is pricey but everything is cooked and served to perfection, so it feels worth it. I especially love their zero-waste corner where you can refill on things like laundry detergent or hand soap. It has come out cheaper than buying new packages from grocery stores.
I got coffee here for a chick that I recently met. She absolutely loved the stuff and I look forward to going back there for her. I also deliver there for my job and have to admit the staff is overly helpful and friendly!
Good coffee. Bunch of models working but meh.
Favorite coffee shop in Kingston! They take low waste, composting and recycling seriously and I so appreciate that. Not to mention their coffee and baked goods are delicious. They also sell some zero waste products in the store too!
Great coffee, amazing fresh, local food, and nice ambiance for getting some work done in the back room—or just hanging out and people-watching up front. When my internet was out, the staff was so gracious about letting me hang out ALL DAY with my laptop. I only wish I lived closer, I’d stop in every day if I could!
BEST COFFEE IN KINGSTON, NY HANDS DOWN. I was amazed when I found this place and after having a latte. Love the style of the seating areas, natural tabletops with a really modern feel. Staff is friendly enough, they use Tobys Estate espresso. The iced tea there is fantastic. If youre a coffee fanatic, go here.
An exquisite cafe. Lovely staff and t HR ye make great espressos, etc. one of my new favs in the area. Al perfect spot to meet a friend or a quiet moment alone.
A smile could go a long way, and when a costumer asks do you have a donut looking like gluten free vegan pastry, which was so good last time, you do not say with a tone in your voice, no, and your tone and the manner of giving us what we ordered and the look clearly reflecting your aversion to that particular costumer. Never ever I wanna go back to that place. I love the bakery goods there so much. I am sorry, I do not usually write bad reviews, everyone can have a bad day or two, thats including me too, but this was above the humiliation level anyone can take, especially if the one is paying. The other hand the other person apologetic smile and helping me out saved the day and I set down. Maybe the person had a bad day, maybe she got a bad news, please than take a day off and do not put it out on the costumers, if you can not take a day off at least try to make an effort, we also work for that money we are spending there.
Best trained baristas/cappuccinos in Kingston. Lots of interesting crafts and coffee related items to purchase. Carries oat milk. Friendly.
We’re visiting from Seattle and were looking for quality coffee, Village Coffee exceeded our expectations. Expertly pulled shots (they have a La Marzocco machine) and delicious maple latte options. The food was delicious and high quality: pasture raised eggs, grass fed butter, locally baked sourdough. If I ever find myself in the area again I will definitely seek them out.
Love this place. Best coffee shop around!
Best Coffee Shop I’ve been to in the HV Region and it’s been 30 years 🤙🤙
Best coffee around. The food never disappoints. I really enjoy their gluten free baked goods that are made in house! I highly recommend this place to anyone. Be sure to stop by if you’re in Kingston!
Cute place, good coffee. Very sunny and bright in the morning makes it a great place to have a cup of joe and some breakfast. They have some gluten free options that are yummy and make their own bread. Worth checking out.
Exceptional food and coffee. I had an excellent oatmilk cappuccino and the oyster mushroom toast with rich, salty cheese, and Granny Smith apples. Delicious combination of flavors.
Amazing veggie burger, quinoa bowls and teas. The non-veggie goods also looked scrumptious. Mostly local and delicious finds in produce, breads - a one week sourdough bread, cheese, milk, grains, jams, confections it’s a true delight of the senses. The coffees are spectacular. Can’t wait to visit Kingston again and sample something else off the menu.
Delicious creative gourmet food at reasonable prices. Great coffee too.
Amazing food and drink and warm friendly service. Village Coffee & Goods has really cultivated a community in its four walls :) My favorite place to go in Kingston!
Food is amazing. Little cozy place. A little pricey but not bad
The food was delicious and organic.
Good people and seriously good ingredients and yes it looks like Brooklyn inside but the important thing is these people are solid and they make a damn fine latte and savory pastry.
The food is delicious and fresh and the drinks are very good.
This tiny kitchen tucked on a side street turns out delicious food and first rate coffee!
Best espresso in Hudson Valley. Also amazing 5-star breakfast in a tiny kitchen. Not sure how they do it, but they always do it great.
Loved it here! The coffee and the food were both amazing. Customer service is also impeccable
This is a hidden gem to find near Broadway in Kingston. I enjoyed a matcha latte and want to return to try some of the brunch items. Friendly staff, took time to share origins of items they were selling.
A surprisingly unique and delicious new gem in Kingston with an awesome breakfast sandwich, a stellar flat white (hard to find), and the perfect blend of Aussie flavor. The decor is great too. I will be back.
Very nice cozy little cafe... then I realized as I was leaving there was more seating in an adjacent room. lol Still nice and relaxed atmosphere. Cappachino was very very good. I also had a pastry roll of sorts. More of a cinnamon bun but with very light flaky shell. That said, the only minor less positive comments I have is that it being the first time I was there, I didnt realize there was another larger room to sit in, because the front room is small, crowded and while planned out as well as possible for the size room it wasBut they had the kitchen, a display island for baked /cooked food items, shelving against a wall with coffees displayed [most costing somewhere in the $15 +/- per bag [not lb, as far as what I saw on the packaging]and crowed together seatings in one little corner of the room.As I mentioned above, the cappachino was quite good with that cute little swirl in the foam on the top. BUT, Perhaps since I make my own cappachinos at home, Ive gotten out of touch with the big differences in price and portion /sizes in different cafes, as I considered it a smaller size cappachino with a large, almost extra large price on it. There were very few pastries /desserts to choose from. Perhaps it was because we went mid-morning [9:30 / 10am]. But the roll I choose was tasty but on the small size for the price. The cost for the cappachino & roll was approx $12. The cappachino was good enough to go back [ and next time, to sit in the next room with a little more room and a shade easier to talk in. I will do my best to accept that the basis of my percep- tion that this little snack was expensive, is Im cheap about somethings and not about other things, plus I have a Keurig Rivo machine that makes pretty nice cappachinos, lattes and espressos [hot or cold] in a matter of a couple minutes with zero effort. It will always be healthier for people [when and if they can] to get out and socialize, instead of sitting home all the time. I will say that many people, normally, might not even think of stopping for something that might cost this much because they are retired or on a limited budget. I want to suggest for those who cant or choose not to pay the cost of custom cafe coffees, ect., that to achieve the goal of Move a muscle, change a thought, that I have found that a regular cup of coffee can play the same role for as little as $1.08 at McDonalds [or all I can say in my area of NYS, that is what they are still charging any size]. I personally find that for a plain cup of coffee, McDs coffee is consistently pretty good.I now bring this review back to its intended subject of review, Village Coffee. I didnt give them 5 stars only because of cost, very limited snack dessert selection, overall generally cramped environment and not to forget, not very good parking options.
Great food and beverages in a cool and mellow atmosphere.
I guess if you dont mind paying $18 for a medium coffee,1 small which was like 6 onces, and 1 croissant, couldnt enjoy that $5cup of coffee no white sugar only came suger,i wont go back, cant afford to.
This place is a great locally owned coffee shop. Ample seating, Wi-Fi, great vibe. Everything we ordered was amazing and the owners/staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!
I enjoyed this cafe. Food was good.
They have coffee. It’s really good. The food is really good, too. The goods are also really good. And the people are really nice.
I love this place - for the the fresh food and the very nice people and service.A relaxing place to have an healthy meal.
Fantastic place, excellent food and great coffee, very friendly and accommodating staff
Really friendly, casual, homey place. Good people!
The most gorgeous spot in Kingston! Delicious food & amazing customer service - and of course vibing with creativity and positivity!
Great food and coffee, and a good vibe. Cozy little inside.
Their so called Gluten Free is NOT gluten free. Disappointed that they cant take a little care to ensure ppl with allergies can eat here
Great coffee!
Limited menu, excellent latte, delicious herbed buttered toast, good service, very hipster
Best coffee in The Hudson Valley hands down. Im obsessed with delicious coffee and dont say this lightly. When I was handed my first pour over cup of coffee in a comfy pottery mug I was transported by the perfection of flavor, deep rich and balanced. Later in the day I noticed that the caffeine buzz too was sustained, not nervy, just awake: in short coffee at its very best.2nd visit (I cant stay away now). Mark, of the husband and wife co-owner team, handed me a flat white: that put to shame any flat white Id ever previously tasted. One of the secrets is the freshest richest local organic milk on top of a state of the art expresso machine and burr grinder masterfully commandeered by Mark. They even have and sell a rich oat milk to substitute for dairy milk in the flat white or cappuccino or lattes.Speaking of the local organic fare the food is sublime from freshly baked goods, a frittata with local ramps and asparagus on a bed of fresh greens topped with grated artisanal cheese. Their Australian roots are deliciously revealed in the homemade sourdough locally harvested whole grain toast with fresh butter and Vegemite.Oh, and did I mention that they are accomplished musicians as well with a beautiful grand piano parked in the back room ready for live entertainment? This place is a slam dunk and while they currently arent open on weekends this reviewer predicts the demand will build for a 7 day operation fast!
