4/4 School of Music is awesome! My daughter takes keyboard/piano lessons with Nick who is beyond amazing! He connects with my 7 year old daughter so well! He is patient yet pushes her and professional yet still fun/goofy!! The school communicates so well and is so on top of their emails. I am so thrilled with the 4/4 School of Music!
I took piano and guitar lessons from 4/4 School of Music for several years. This music school has great teachers and offers flexibility regarding class schedule and make up class. I really enjoy my learning in this school.
We have all our kids in 4/4 School and love it! The teachers are great with early learners and weve really appreciated the responsiveness from the 4/4 team when conflicts on schedule arise.
I am pleased to write a review for the 4/4 School of Music as a little gift for our 1st year with the school. My daughter got as part of her birthday present last years classes to play the violin. Its been a year and I am so grateful for the experience so far with the School. The instructor for my daughter was the perfect match, fun, encouraging, dynamic, creative, and always nurturing to promote practices at home. My daughter adores her teacher and she has made so much progress in one year playing such a delicate instrument. She recently gave our neighbors (an elderly couple) from the backyard a 20 min concert, including Allelujah, Ode to Joy, Gloria from Vivaldi, and Happy Birthday. Those moments were priceless for all of us. The staff behind the scenes for classes, scheduling, and all that is always very responsive, kind, and quick on address any concern and questions you may have. Today, as a 1 year anniversary being with 4/4 School of Music, I wanted to say thank YOU for the great experience and caring for the students and the love of music.
Sarah, I have to tell you. I have been having a lot of fun and enjoying how my voice is developing for my Voice-Over/Character-Singing work. You are just wonderful with your suggestions and keeping me on track with my technical vocal work to help strengthen and tone my voice. I thought I had totally lost it, but you are showing me that is not true. Your patience and understanding have just helped me gain my confidence with my vocal work. It has been just about a year---and what a fun year it has been. I would recommend you to anyone wanting to improve their vocal work for singing, character work or Voice-Over work. Heres to another year--Thank you so much
My daughter has been going to 4/4 school for over an year and she really enjoy ukulele class with Austin Schuyler. He is really good, provides tips to practice at home as well as motivates her with songs that she likes. Austin also talks about goals and creates a plan to accomplish them with the right amount of practice for her level. The 4/4 support staff via email/phone are very responsive and resolves questions with great attention.
4/4 School of Music is a great place to learn a new instrument at any age. I am in my 40s and started learning the violin after many years of procrastination of thinking I am too old. This school along with my instructor take the time and sincerity to teach you. I 100% recommend this school.
I love 4/4 School of Music! My daughter is taking piano lessons, but her teacher, Katya, has sparked an excitement around music in general. She takes time to not only teach the lesson, but also focuses on music that excites my daughter. Shes helped her play pieces from Harry Potter, Disney and Star Wars, along with things shes heard in music class at school. My daughter cant wait to practice more at home and show off her skills to her teacher!
After a year of owning an acoustic guitar and not really making any progress on my own, I decided to sign up for classes at 4/4. I had Randy at the Kirkland location, and I felt like I got off to a really fast start. Randy was great; he taught me with a combination of using a music book and assigning me a new song after each class to learn chords. Im taking a break from lessons while I go back to school, but Ill definitely be back when the time is right.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL:We think this is the right school for our son. A lot depends on the teacher, although generally I only see committed music-loving folks teaching in all classes. We’ve had two teachers so far, both awesome. The school offers the right flexibility at least for cases like ours. Our son wanted to learn guitar, to try at least, not big expectations, and he’s already on his second year. We take half hour or one hour lesson per week, the rest is pure practice. The school staff is super accommodating with our schedule needs, they have always been very responsive and friendly. They also follow the local school district schedule. It’s very convenient they had one location near home.ABOUT OUR TEACHER (AUSTIN!!):My son is taking guitar lessons with Austin Schuyler, and we couldn’t be luckier. Austin has been able to engage with my son (14) on the right frequency. It is a combination of love for music, discipline and the right communication skills. He has been able to instill more curiosity for music in general through songs that have a meaning to my son, while still pushing for more practice of concepts and formalities. Austin is very careful in his communication, my son picks up clearly when he has to work harder, and leaves the class super invigorated when they had a fun jamming session. I think it’s the perfect balance. My son started with guitar two years ago, still with no expectations of becoming a rock star, only to enjoy it (and he has!). We have to thank Austin for the deeper connection he has developed with music and the guitar during this past year.
I have taken piano lessons from Joey Lyon for about 7 months now. He is an amazing instructor. We discussed what I hoped to get out of the lessons early on, and he has helped me consistently progress in the direction I want ever since. There has been a mix of types of lessons and things to practice - from songs I choose, lessons books I move through at my own pace, to theory, and online practices.Considering he is great at piano instruction, I suspect his guitar lessons (his main instrument of choice) would be equally great - for both novice and advanced students. As a small note about 4/4 Music - they are always very responsive and easy to work with. I am pleased to have gone with them and with Joey.
I have had the best experience at 4/4 School of Music! My vocal teacher, Caitlin, is a singer/songwriter herself, and a patient, flexible, and compassionate teacher. She incorporates vocal and breath exercises and awareness with us practicing songs together that I want to be able to sing, and she gives constructive feedback while emphasizing what I am doing right. She recognizes that some of how I sing is just my style, and she knows the difference between me singing badly and me being me while still using good technique so I make the most of my voice. A friend recommended this school, and I cant say enough about how kind and efficient everyone is, whether Im calling to change my time or cancel or whatever; they are all very uplifting people to talk to. They teach all ages, and I am 65, so I recommend it to everyone. Caitlin is so sweet with the kids, too. You wont be disappointed!!!
We really enjoy the program at 4/4. Nick tailors the lessons to my sons interests and abilities. Nick challenges him at his level, but also makes it fun by introducing new music that he really enjoys. In spite of covering 2 locations and a wide range of learners, Nick can focus on my son, and make him feel important and special. I really appreciate Nick and am glad we chose 4/4 for our lessons. Also, the 4/4 office is always quick to answer my emails - helpful and polite.
Austin is awesome!!! He has been taught to my son for about one year and we can see a big difference in skill level improvements. Austin encouraged kids and motivated them in the learning process. I would definitely recommend this fantastic instructor to anyone who is looking for starting learning guitar or intermediate guitar level.
High quality teachers and awesome admin. My now 7.5 year old has been learning to play the ukulele with Curtis Thompson for 2.5 years so far and, while there have been ups and downs with her willingness to practice, she enjoys her lessons with him. He is upbeat and great with children. About six months ago we added in voice lessons with Kristie Werner--another awesome teacher who is great with children. Combining voice and ukulele has been a joy for my daughter. Having such great teachers has made scheduling make-up lessons a little challenging because they are so popular. The school allows make-up lessons to be scheduled with any teacher in any location, but I found the teachers schedules to always be full when we were available. This means that make-up lessons can accumulate and their policy is that make-up lessons can only be used while you are still paying your month-to-month tuition (so you cant use them to continue the regular lessons once youve decided to stop), there is no refund for them, the teachers dont get those funds if the make-up lesson isnt booked, so the school gets some free money if you cant use the make-up lessons before stopping regular lessons. The admin at the school have always responded in a timely manner and been willing to help out with any changes or concerns as best they could. It is a wonderful music school with a questionable policy on missed lessons.
Sarah short is great teacher and talented artist! My son is 7 and he has been taken piano lessons since April.Im so amazed by his progress and how hard he practiced because he wants to impress Sarah,And people in management are so awesome and helpful too
When my daughter wanted to try piano lessons, we thought wed give 4/4 School of Music a try. They are close to our home and the price was very reasonable. Scheduling was super easy and Tim is a phenomenal instructor. He is patient, gentle, knowledgeable, thorough and punctual. My daughter never felt rushed and really enjoyed each and every lesson. 5 stars!!
Im a very serious musician/guitarist who does music as a side career and hoping to do it full time one day. Curtis Thompson is an excellent guitar instructor (with masters degree in guitar performance) who has been helping me to improve drastically on both technical and theory proficiency of guitar/music. Hes been one of the main reasons for my continuous success in music career. The school has top notch customer service and is always on top of any re-scheduling or cancellation requests. I highly recommend 4/4 School of Music!
Have been with the school for several years. My daughter takes piano and vocal lessons and has taken several summer camps. The teachers, admin staff are exceptional. The summer camps are a blast and she looks forward to them every year. Low stress, supportive and great at building confidence. Its a wonderful opportunity to learn to work together with other kids in a positive, social and supportive environment. To be able to choose songs, learn how to work together with your bandmates, then to be able to perform as a group, has been an incredible experience.
Summer camp was awesome. My son liked it the best from all the other camps he attended from different venues. Teacher Curtis made it fun. I would recommend it.
Our kids love the music studio. Their instructors, Nick and Curtis are great! Our oldest is 15 and was starting to lose interest in piano, but Nick has got him interested again. They let the kids have a decent amount of control over what theyre learning, which keeps them motivated.
Excellent place! My daughter has taken ukulele & voice lessons, and she is also considering piano. Very flexible, easy to work with, and my daughter loves her teachers.
4/4 has been wonderful to work with. Anytime I have a question or a need they get back to me at record speed. They have been flexible with my schedule and my instructor Nick was great to work with. He is clearly musically talented and works to pass on his knowledge and love of music to his students. I highly recommend 4/4 School of Music!!
Absolutely love this place! My son and I started taking singing lessons here a few months ago and we are having so much fun. Taryn is a great teacher with an amazing voice.
My son Nate loved his teacher Austin. Every time he came out of his lesson he had a huge smile on his face. Austin is very knowledgeable about guitar and relates well with kids!
Sarah Short is an excellent voice teacher. Her professional manner, wonderful personality, love for singing and in-depth knowledge of her subject matter enables her to unlock the best in her students.
This is the greatest music school ever. The instructors are amazing. My two kids have gone to 4/4 for 5 years and have had the same instructors most of the time. Brad had worked with Dan for all of that time and he is amazing!. JT and my daughter have a teacher/student relationship that is beyond what we would hope. Both my kids (now young adults) see their lessons at 4/4 as a highlight of the week. They try never to miss them!!
Our children have been taking lessons through 4/4 School of Music for the past two years. Our experience with the school has been very positive. The teachers are fantastic enthusiastic and fun. We appreciate that the school has great communication and always gets back to us with any questions, rescheduling etc in a very timely manner.
My teacher, Kristie, is fantastic! She has been carefully coaching me in how to improve my voice, adapting her teaching style to be most effective to how I learn. I sing far better than before I started! Thanks, Kristie!
Teacher David Pollon was awesome with my son (9 years old) - incredibly kind and patient, would highly recommend him if your child is ready to learn piano.
My daughter has taken piano lessons for several years from Rachel and Katie-both fabulous teachers! They have inspired her to keep learning and are caring and creative instructors. I would highly recommend them. Thank-you 4/4!
Joey is very patient and supportive of my daughter. The school as a whole is very easy (online payments, great admin support) and low pressure while still challenging for the students.
Our kids love their piano Teacher Michelle. She is a sweet and passion lady. After the lessons, Kids said all goods about Michelle. Looking forward many more with this school
My daughter has been taking piano and voice lessons at our local 4/4 School of Music for over three years now. Her teachers have made learning music fun and their approach continues to inspire her. I highly recommend 4/4.
My son has been attending the drum lesson for 2 years. The drum teacher, Paul, is a fantastic teacher. Before my son came here, he wasnt able to read the drum music sheet, his speed was all over the place. Now, not only he is able to read and understand the drum music sheet, his skill has improved a lot. Instead of continue where my son has left, Paul started over, and focused on basic skill for some time. The result is amazing. My son couldnt ask for a better drum teacher,
I took voice lessons with Caitlin Patterson, and she was amazing! I came in with literally zero experience. Caitlin was very patient and supportive, and I made a lot of progress in just a few months.
Every instructor I interacted with before or after my lesson was very friendly. Their students all seemed to like them.Justin, my instructor for ukulele, was obviously not just a guitar player. He knew a lot of music theory. You can get as much or as little of that as you wanted during lessons. Cant find tabs for something you want to play? Hell write them up for you with what appears to be very little effort. If you want instruction on any of the instruments they support at any particular level, I think you would be well served by 4/4 School of Music.
My guitar teacher Marcos is a really nice and adapt the class based on my need! Great choice for guitar players!
Have had excellent experiences with the teaching (you rock Jon Preece), staff (Bonnie is amazingly helpful) and learning - my son has been taking drumming lessons 1 1/2 years and still loves going - huh?! - 8 year olds rarely stay with activities willingly for this long and this speaks volumes for how wonderful the instruction and school has been for us. Major double thumbs up for you 4/4.
My daughter loves going to her lesson every week! She practices on her own now, without prompting.
My son loves 4/4 school of music and is so excited to share what he learns each week! His guitar instructor Curtis Is amazing, and makes music theory fun and engaging.
Ive been taking voice lessons with Katya. She is always super positive and energetic. I developed my voice greatly thanks to her.
Both teachers we have had were super awesome
My son has been taking voice lessons here and loves it!
Justin is a fantastic teacher!
