We rented a 15 foot truck along with a car trailer for our cross country move. The owner Ken was great! He called my boyfriend the day before we were due to pick up our truck to let us know inventory was low, and corporate was requesting to use the truck for a different customer that day. He recommended picking the truck up that day instead of the following day as the chances of actually getting the truck back when we needed it were slim to none. We ended up picking the truck up as he suggested and he gave us two additional days for free! He was also able to get the car transporter delivered to his location so we didn’t have to drive to a different location to pick it up. When my boyfriend arrived, the truck and trailer were all hooked up and ready to go. In and out in 15 minutes! Thanks again, Ken!
I dont rent box-trucks very often. Actually this was my first time. I received exceptional service from Tristen at the Kirland UHaul. He explained and showed all the important features of the 10 footer that I rented. He covered the pros and cons for getting insurance and that many insurance companies do not cover box truck rentals. This was true for me. It was important that I have insurance coverage... it was $15/day (for only 6 days) If you need a truck to rent, Id start with Tristen at the Kirkland UHaul.
Pretty shady business. I had a receipt that showed that I filled up the truck but they still charged me for filling up the truck. Never had this happen at other uhaul locations. Definitely would recommend staying away from this location and rent from elsewhere instead.
Uhaul just plain sucks. When you reserve a truck, its not a guarantee, its a request. Come move day, you may find that your request cannot be completed which is what happens to so many people.The day before moving, they told me the closest truck was 40 miles away. Thats be 80 miles in cost and time.Pay for some peace of mind and guarantee that come move day, you actually a truck where you requested it. Go with another company.

Every time Ive been here, theres always been crazy people screaming at the employees for no reason 😅 Man, they put up with some dumb stuff! The staff has always been nice to me and my friends and they have great humor! Dont understand why theyre always getting verbally assaulted by Karens 😂
Came to get a Dish Barrel Box and was told I need to get the cell kit with it and otherwise they cannot sell the box. This is bad business practice as they advertise the box separately with its separate price. Didnt have parking so had to walk from the neighboring parking lot just to get denied sale. Dont have good experience with U-haul in general as they delay your morning when trying to rent from them. I am a regular customer, but time for me to part.
Working with U-Haul is terrible. A few days before my scheduled move date my reservation was changed from Ballard to Kirkland to Buckley. The employee I talked to at Kirkland to try and understand the situation was rude and snippy with me. I ended up cancelling my reservation because I dont have time to drive 90 minutes each way to pick up my truck. Im to busy packing and juggling my family.
Ronnie (Hope I spelled her name right) was great! went in to pick up the moving packages they offer and Ronnie provided excellent customer service. Coordinated with staff well and made recommendations based on my situation which I appreciated. She turned the store upside down looking for an item that I casually asked if they carried. Great experience.
Fast service, very helpful. Was able to rent the size truck I needed for the next day, picked it up in under 10 mins, and they were able to work with me when I need to extend my rental. Great customer service, and very quick.
Since 1999, anytime we moved, I would rent the uhaul truck from this exact location, uhaul on 85th st (that’s what we call it). I come back to this exact location for the kind people, customer service, accountability and expectation. I will continue to rent uhaul trucks from them for many years to come, because great service is hard to come by especially these days. Thank you for being simply awesome!!!
Got a hitch install here. Service was quick and good. They can be hard to get on the phone, seems to always be busy there and maybe not enough employees. Pretty good experience overall.
I called to ask about a moving van and the price and deposit needed. The man (who I’m assuming is the owner it’s the same voice as the recorded message before you’re transferred to a rep) who answered the phone said there was no more vans available until tomorrow so I asked if there was anything else like a truck or a 10ft box truck available and he replied “huh let me se how I can put this in other words.. anything with wheels we ain’t gonna have till tomorrow” very rude treating me like I said something dumb. My mother also had a similar experience at this exact location with the older man being rude and treating you like you’re just some dummy coming to give him your hard earned money. Not me not today not ever
I scheduled and pre-paid for a hitch install over a month ago. I showed up this morning and was told that there was no hitch install technician available and that I should have been notified. There only appeared to be a single person working the location and she seemed overwhelmed given there was also a system outage. Moreover, I even tried to call the day before and the morning of, just to try to confirm the appointment. I sat on hold for 30 mins before giving up each time. Horrible customer service. Ill be having my hitch work done by a reputable auto repair shop.
I was waiting in line to purchase boxes from this store and the MANAGER Chris told me to move my vehicle out of the way, who since talking to customer service is not the manager. Chris misrepresented himself The, so please watch out. The managers name is Kenneth, so this review is not about Kenneth. I simply explained that I was there to purchase boxes and need to park and started to ask where to move it. He then threatened physically damage to my personal vehicle if I didnt move it. He said, move it or ill move it with my white truck. I ran to get it moved. I called back to ask for the manager to report my issue. This guy said that he was the manager!! He didnt even apologize or admit that he was wrong. No nothing!!! This man and store are a joke and have no customer service skills. Thank you so much for such a pleasant experience. I was threatened, called names, and he couldnt even admit that he was wrong. I am on the phone with corporate now to report this man. No one deserves to be threatened by the so called manager of a location like this. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS MAN!! It wont let me post zero stars so i had to put one star. I had to go to public storage just to purchase boxes. I look forward to my conversation with Kenneth about his employee. Please do not threaten people. Its not needed, especially right now with the way the world is.

I will never again use UHaul. We reserved a 15-foot truck for moving, called the night before to confirm pick-up and when we arrived in the morning, no truck was available. We were sent to snoqualmie and then to Olympia and finally given a 10 foot truck which we were told we had to return to that location instead of leaving it at the location we had originally scheduled. UHaul states in their contract that they’re not responsible for anything above $50 worth of inconvenience so all the extra gas and mileage for their mistake came out of our pockets. We had to travel well over 100 miles to get the truck we had been promised at a location 5 miles from us. The guy at the Kirkland location was nice but as a company their customer service is beyond horrible. There are so many other great companies I don’t know why anyone would ever use UHaul.
Terrible service I felt discriminated against for being Latina I went at 5 pm to rent a truck and the man who attended me told me that he had nothing for me but I saw that if I rent to more people they really discriminated against me I would not return to this place and I hope and more people think about it before going there very bad experience

I had a bad experience with the location (12000 NE 85th St, Kirkland, WA 98033), hence the 1 star.The tall, Caucasian person having an unusually long beard (I wish I knew his name, he appeared to be the manager) at the location told me that the trucks are useless in snow. Since there was a forecast for Friday evening (Feb 12, 2021), the day I was going to use the truck, he told me to keep the truck at my location and bring it back whenever it is safe to do so, and that there will not be any additional days of charge. On Saturday morning, at 8:45 am, that person called me and told me to keep the truck till Monday and that we can discuss the return on Monday. The Monday came and he never took my calls. I ended up talking to the customer service and the rep told me that I need to return the truck on Monday even though there was a terrible snow lying on my street. I was told that if the truck is stuck in snow then I will have to tow it out and I will be responsible for all the associated costs.These are the things that the u-haul locations need to clearly explain to the customers so that we can explore other options like Penske.
DO NOT GO WITH UHAUL! I booked a 5 x 8 covered trailer on line, secured it with payment and had received a reservation notice. Less that 24 hours before the pick up time I received and email say that UHaul had no trailers (even though it stated that for the location I booked it at) and that I was going to get a 10 foot van. Was I supposed to tow the van behind my truck? It gets worse, upon calling the representative I was told that there were no trailers in the area, did not even check where the nearest trailer was or offer any solutions to their mistake. Because this was all delivered so last minute I ended up driving 6 hours to get an uncovered trailer, had to purchase traps and tied downs, costing me more money.When I sent of a well articulated customer review their department came back with a We are sorry email and offered me 20 dollars off my next Uhaul rental. Not ReliableMy pick up was Kirkland and drop off was Seattle, they called me and ask for returning the truck to their store and promise me 50% discount, while when I returned the truck to their store they didn’t accept it and calculated the regular rates.Do not RELY on their calls or words.

The young man working on the propane refused to refill my 1 gallon propane tank.
After I failed to remember to reserve a truck in advance, the Kirkland crew somehow managed to line up a truck for me on a really busy Saturday and were an absolute pleasure to work with! I cant recommend them highly enough, this is absolutely my go-to place for rentals.

They wont let you park on their lot,,, there is no parking nearby,. They just tell you they are not responsible for anything.Had my car towed from nearby shopping center,,had to pay for another day of uhaul,,,. First day $68,,, 2nd day without a reservation $115 then tow company $347 and they stole a ring of keys from inside my car. Had to have everything re-keyed.. $475.It sure seemed like uhaul and tow company were working together to rob me...Maybe they even had plans to use my house keys...
Dont bother calling to try to reserve. Youll never get through. We just drove up and reserved one instead. Unfortunately, when leaving the van after a hard day of moving, I left my Bluetooth, brand new bday present Beats in the van. This was on the evening of June 30. Of course, they werent reported found when cleaned out. I guess an employee gets to enjoy those babies! Sad.
These guys were great. Walked in, walked out fairly easily with 10ft truck, used for day, brought back early, dropped off no hitch and they adjusted timing et al. Couldnt have been smoother.
The GM Ken and his team are fantastic and they always have the answers.
Both times I’ve called the person helping me (females) were helpful and nice. When I called the totem lake one he’s like I have to call the SEATTLE center to change my reservation. Whereas this person changed it for me over the phone. Great job!
Beware! I ordered a hitch installation with wiring specifically for my german SUV (correct model, year, etc.) to be installed at 11:30am. Expensive, but fine, confirmed by email.So I show up at 11:25am, and the desk clerk says you want to drop it off now? I ask why hes asking, and he gestures towards the desktop as says Its scheduled for 12:30. I show him the confirming email and without so much as an apology, he just repeats it says here 12:30.That would be annoying if then they simply then completed the installation. Nope. After 4 hours, the installation guy calls to say he cant figure out the wiring and my choices are now to go to the dealer or yet another hitch installer to get the work completed. Am I due a refund for the incomplete work? No, not until I insist. Really?Its one thing to not be able to do the work, but to accept the detailed order, then mess about looking online for help and then conclude in the epic fail and just tell the customer tough luck, go find someone else to finish the work?If you have anything but a 67 Pinto, go somewhere else. Anywhere.

The guy who helped me picking up the van didnt seem all that enthused to be there, was pretty soft-spoken. But otherwise everything went smoothly and drop off was easy. I was helped by someone else on the return.
Rude people and bad customer service. I dont want to go about the details of my experience with them but there is an old guy who was apparently the manager and didnt care to even respond to my question I asked him three times. Tense atmosphere I guess makes it harder for younger guys to provide quality service. Ill never go there again.
Parking is limited. As expected, it is crowded first thing on Saturday morning. Make sure you have a reservation. I had a hitch installed and they did an excellent job. Very neat and clean. The staff is working hard to make everybody happy and get you in and out as quick as possible. Couldnt be happier with their service.
The staff were helpful and swift.The reservation process was easy.The pick up lot is way too small and on a hill, so its difficult to drop off, or pull out once youre hooked up to a trailer.

Ive rented a truck here twice now.Everything went as planned and was really simple.Guys were nice enough and everything was as I expected it to be.I think that earns 5 stars.
Uhaul Renton knowingly sent me off with a flat tire on the trailer!I tookthe trailer to Kirkland UHaul and they just out air in the tire that was flagged with chalk that is was a bad tire!I then drove until the tire was flat. Next had to wait for 3 hours to have a service shop change all four tires as they were all obviously in horrible condition.It is completely unacceptable and dangerous for U-Haul to have both Kirkland and Renton stores fail to fix a flat tire and send a customer off on a dangerous drive over a mountain pass.

Not great. I wish there was competition in the area. First, there are no trailers available on site although advertised on the website. Second, it still takes 30 minutes to get a truck although reservations and check in were already done. Third, rude personel.

Great people.. They have educated and helped me figure out how to move and what I can tow. Advice to get the car checked befor towing they truly care About all of us. The goal here seemed to help people move cost efficent and with care.
Absolutely no customer service skills and horrible communication skills. Rude front desk lady that would not listen. The owner/manager walked away in the middle of my explanation. They opened the truck using a locksmith without my consent while I havent returned the truck. They said that I should not have parked the truck in the long designated Uhaul truck parking spots while theres no marking or telling so.

When I called and asked what trucks were available he gave me a response, I had one more question and his response was “I’m too old for this yuppie multi-tasking, just come in if you want a truck” and hung up on me.Obviously they have plenty of business and are too busy to deal with anyone that doesn’t already know absolutely everything about The uhaul truck renting experience.Plenty of other uhaul rentals near here, no need to deal with attitudes like this.
Beware of dropping of the truck at different location: we got charged double for dropping off the truck at different location then the originally rented from. Initially he said we could drop the truck at different location, however, he never explain that the truck will be charged double rate. Well, the bill explains those hidden charges so I gave them a call but he said he explain the whole double charge rate things clearly before we rented the truck. I told him that if he indeed explained the double rate charge why would anybody agree to this because it clearly very expensive compare to the regular rate. Well, at this point I really dont care about those $90+ extra on the bill anymore but the fact that he said he explained those hidden charges.
Good pickup location. Its challeging ti return the trucks us you are returning after hours. The lot is small.Also there is no official place to park your car when you pick up the truck.
2 of the staff were HORRIBLY RUDE because I wasnt scheduled to drop off at their location. They wouldnt let me drop off the trailer that I had rented in Portland and said to leave and call the number on the contract to figure it out. This was on a Sunday night at 5:45 so they were more interested in closing.Finally a different staff person found a place close that was open late and arranged for me to drop off there.Thank you to the one person who helped, and shame on the other two. Wont be going here again.
This U-Haul center is tops with us! They have been great to us -- always -- for all of our personal and corporate rentals. We have probably used them at least ten times over the last 4 years. The staff are friendly and helpful. Even if another U-Haul might be closer, we always go here because we know that we will be treated right. If anyone had any bad experiences with attentiveness of this staff, it must have just been a rare occurrence...no one is perfect after all. We are not affiliated in any way with this center or with any of their employees but we have had Ken go out of his way to be helpful to us (people he did not even know) and appreciate his and his staffs efforts. We dont usually post reviews but saw this site and had to say something when we saw the negative postings. Please dont let a few peoples bad days impact your decision to go here.
Probably the worst, most aggressive, angry customer service I have experienced in years. And they tried to break the law and over charge me for a day rental but explained that I dont get the truck but I do have to pay for the day. Just a terrible experience. Find any other way, these people dont deserve to have loyalty.

Dont bother with online check-in. After doing all the steps and getting to the screen that says skip the line and receive your keys immediately, the counter just tells you to wait in line anyways. It ends up taking longer. Waste of time.
Had our truck on time and even swept it out for us before we left. And when we returned it the check in process was fast and painless
These folks installed a nice-quality trailer hitch on my Subaru and did a great job at a very reasonable price. 20K miles later, the hitch still looks great.
CARELESS and UNRELIABLE with PERSONAL ITEM left behind in their truck !!!I forgot my sunglasses (almost $150) in one of their trucks. I wasnt in Kirkland or the surroundings anymore so I called few times, on the same day the truck was returned, and the next day - NO RESPONSE !I was automatically directed to U-HAULs customers service. I left numerous messages with their representatives and requested an agent from this dealership to follow up on this and contact me a.s.a.p .I DIDNT RECEIVE ANY PHONE CALL or other communication, NONE what soever, for TWO DAYS !After two days I finally got to talk with KEN. The imbecile responded: We didnt see or find your sunglasses so we didnt call you back.They check every truck once it returned and prepare it for the next rental -HOW COME MY SUNGLASSES WERE NOT FOUND ???
Normally I don’t write reviews and I am writing this as soon as I come out of the store. I must say this store has bunch of Axx working. I went to pick up my cargo carrier that I ordered online. A staff tries to pull my order by my account number and then by my last name and he fails. Another guy comes and says that he will not be able to do anything if it’s not in the list. He didn’t even try to search my order. Then I have argue with him to give it a try and he responded very rude. Finally he asks my last name and pulls my order. What a bunch of unprofessional people.UHaul- please try to change the staff or give them better incentives which will make them work for the customer and not handle them like jerks. Will not go to this store anymore or any Uhaul for that matter.
I have recently had a trailor hitch installed on my Nissan Versa. I was running late lost and upset with traffic, within 3 minutes the service I received had me calmed down and able to make the other things I needed to do (most of them depended on the trailer I needed the hitch for). They are small busy and great problem solvers. Thank you!! I recommend them highly.
Propane- 10:30am 9/23/18 dont bother trying to get propane here. They only care about the reservations dor the trucks. I drove 20 minutes then was told to wait 10 minutes ok Im a patient person. Waited 20 minutes and asked manager and he said he doesnt have time. Needs to take care of reservations first. He was the the dame person that asked me to wait earlier. Well more people keep walking in the door yoy know how busy they were. I gave up and drove to a place in newcastle tjst was open on a Sunday.

I had a terrible experience with uhaul of Kirkland. I made an appointment to have a trailer hitch installed, I even called first to make sure they had the appropriate hitch and were up to the task. They assured me that they had the necessary hitch and were very capable of installing it. They were not! They didnt set my appointment, and they were incapable of installing the hitch on my make and model. Their communication is subpar, and they will not return phone calls. Use this place at your own risk, I found them to be unprofessional and a complete waste of time!

Aerik was one of the most unhelpful customer service reps I have ever had. My reservation had been incorrectly handled by corporate customer service but no one working on the front end cared. I was in a jam or else I would have gladly walked out of that store. Thankfully Dat at corporate handled my situation with professionalism. That said, avoid this place. Find any other friendly neighborhood uhaul dealer.
I was in bind the other day and swang through here looking to rent a couple furniture dollys and a hand truck to help a friend move. There was NO LINE and I was treated very rudely with a we only rent those if you rent a truck. The other 4 employees just watched as I told her I would just go to U-Haul who would be of service and the one down the street that did. I would give 5 stars for the dollys as they are AWESOME but I have to take 4 stars for away for the attitude this location consistently has.

I have been using Kirkland Uhaul for the last five years. They have installed multiple tow packages for me on my cars. This time when I needed a vehicle Dalton and the entire crew helped me with everything we needed for the move.
Im not sure if it was the staff or the system, but getting a u-haul was painfully slow. On the plus side the staff was nice, they allow after hour drop offs, and its close to a gas station.
This location is the absolute worst! The gentlemen who work there have no personality or customer service skills. Also, if you are representing a company and dealing with the public, you should take some pride in your appearance. Its bad enough to be rude and impatient with customers but on top of that to look like you live in the mountains and smell like it too. Particularly my sales rep with the long beard. I was also told multiple times that the items I was transporting would not fit in the only vehicle they had available. I arranged additional transportation just to find out that everything would fit adequately in the van. I will never use this location again or recommend it to anyone. Considering how many negative reviews they have, I think Uhaul corporate should do something!
I had a reservation to pick up in Redmond. They changed my pick up location to twice the distance and couldnt find me anything until the next day which I had scheduled the moving help for the day of reservation and couldnt cancel. So I drove 20 miles round trip to pick up and drop off the truck, but only moved my stuff 5 miles away. Plus I returned the truck over half tank on accident and instead of giving me an additional credit for the gas. They charged me for the 1.4 miles that I went over on my estimated mileage. Ive used u haul for my last 4 moves. I even used them to go across country. Well no more I will never use u haul again. Fool me once shame on you.

Nice people, the uhaul hotline claimed this store has it all. The employees are honest and hardworking trying not to oversell or disappoint their customers. Go see them before you call 800 uhaul. saves alot of grief.
Make sure you take pictures, save your gas receipt, and wait at the location for a receipt if you don’t want to be overcharged.
My experience with this place has been less than ideal. I booked a truck with them and reached 50 minutes after booking time to their office.U-Haul has a policy if you don’t get the reserved truck and you reach with in 60 minutes they pay you back.Because of heavy rush at the place I spent 10 minutes in the line and reached the counter in 61st minute. I was refused the u-haul guarantee because I reached the counter one minute over. That in my opinion is very bad way to conduct business.

Dont expect any customer service or smile here and I have been here several times over the years for different things. Very long wait and unless you have a lot of time to waste, plan to go else where, for propane, will be the last of everything else they do, and this is a very busy location, especially on weekend.

Move day, we arrived really early due to timeConstraint. The U-Haul website would not let me change times, but Ken helped us out getting the truck early so we could be on our way with little delay.
