Maybe Iβm just a California native used to spicy Mexican food, but the style of food just didnβt hit the spot for me. To start, I ordered βsalsaβ which they told me was not spicy, but is something I need for this type of food. Iβm the type of person who carries tapatio with me everywhere and will add I to cup o noodles or a sandwich. Anyway, the salsa was like a creamy soup. Maybe I got the wrong item? I donβt know and will never know as our order was takeout. I got the chicharron with mofongo and fried chicken dinner while my GF ordered the chicken breast dinner. The mofongo was actually the best part of the meal. Like mashed potatoes with bit of flies pork goodness. Tasted better with tapatio, of course. The chicharron and fried chicken were ok, but way too chewy. Not crunchy like Iβm used to which is the Mexican style, which is called chicharron con carne due to the extra meat chunks that come with the fried skin. Chicken was ok, but a bit bland. Happy to have tried the something different. Similar to Cuban food, if you ask me, except the Mofongo was unique. Donβt order the salsa unless you want cream soup :) Service was good, but they were busy and it took a while for the food.Pro tip: call ahead if you know what you want for takeout and save yourself some time.
Another cuisine adventure with my family and this time our cravings brought us to Caribbean βTrΓ³pico Mofongoβ. Spacious location with a nice typical decoration. The staff is friendly and make you feel welcomed. They have a great selection of delicious Puertorrican food, but if you are here, you are here for the Mofongo. We ordered the Mofongo with carne frita and it was outstanding! One order was enough for two people, and we couldnβt leave without trying the refreshing Presidente beer. If you are nearby, come Eat, sip and do.
First time here! This is a must try! We tried to get a little bit of everythingβ¦ it was so flavorfulβ¦ tasted like authentic Puerto Rican food!!! Service was friendly and inviting like visiting that one family member you love!! Must try the passion fruit drinkβ¦ itβs so fresh and delicious! I definitely will be back when on vacation here in Florida.
THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS. The service is great, the portions are filling. Definitely stop here for great Latin American food for a great price.
Excellent food. Ample servings. Great Value. I highly recommend this restaurant. What a treat! We ordered online for pickup.
This was our first time at this restaurant, we got there at 1130 on a Saturday morning and it was crowded . The wait was only 10 minutes. If you want take out you just walk in and go to front to place your order, you can see the hot food behind a glass just point to what you want . Every one spoke English so ordering is easy. We sat down to eat I ordered the mofongo which is mashed plantains with pork cracklings in it, I asked for the one that has sweet and green plantains together . My order also came with white rice and beans, plus a cup of chicken broth and roasted pork that was very well seasoned. The portion was huge had to bring some home . My wife had the mofongo with shrimp good size shrimp great flavor. Our server was very friendly she answered all our questions about the menu patently. She brought us sauces the red was very spicy, green not to spicy, the 2 orange are a combination of ketchup and mayonnaise mixed together. We will definitely come back to this location.
Mofongo con pulpo is one of my favorite dishes on the planet. And these guys knocked it out of the park. The place is such a nice restaurant. Im a little annoyed I only learned about it yesterday. Their mofongo was fantastic. And their octopus salad was out of this world. I cant wait to go back.
Authentic Puerto Rican dining experience! The food and service were both excellent. The prices, though not cheap, were very reasonable.I had the mofongo and churasco dinner. The meal came with tostones, rice and beans, maduros, and broth for the mofongo. The meal was expertly prepared and had a Puerto Rican home cooked meal appeal. The churasco steak was nicely seasoned and tender, but the mofongo was the star of the show.Salsa and merengue played while patrons laughed and enjoyed a good meal. I will definitely go back and highly recommend!
The food was good and the service was good too. However, I almost felt like calling the police when I got the check came.... We got charged for sides that were included, a 4% credit card fee that wasnt disclosed, and $7.50 for one glass of orange juice (full of ice); thats just criminal! Wont be coming back here just out of principal.
Its probly 6-per person of a ton of some of the best food i have ever eaten. Just do one dish for 2 people.
Atmosphere: Fairly typical. Mid level cleanliness and design.Food: Pick and pay to go option as well as sit down to order. We had two mofongos: churrasco and chicharrΓ³n (pork rinds). The churrasco was good but the pork was below average. Although I do highly recommend adding it to the mofongo: well worth the money. Natural juices were quite good.Service: Attentive and quick service.Final thoughts: this place should satisfy 85% of patrons. I strongly recommend their hot sauce... Quite delicious and the right amount of kick.
Food missed the FLaVOR mark. It was Good but perhaps a lil more salt/adobo?? Esp. The PASTELES. The pulpo left much to be desired...πI want to LIKE the place so I will try again at some point in the future. The place could use better ventilation in the kitchen so that it isnt SO dang HOT. I was perspiring eating my food!π
Weβve been several times now and the food is delicious! The prices are very affordable, especially for how much food youβre served. Itβs very filling and seasoned so well. Also, make sure you get their sauces! Theyβre amazing too! I loved their made from scratch hot sauce. This is a great local spot with really good authentic food.
We visited Tropical Mofongo about 30 minutes before closing and Im glad we had an dining experience. The atmosphere was quaint and spacious. The food was very affordable and proportion sizes were generous. The service was exceptional. The food was delicious! Im glad to have found an excellent Spanish restaurant in the Kissimmee area (not too far from Disney). I will definitely be returning especially for the tostones.
Amazing food amazing atmosphere great customer service wish the food in NY was as good as it was here amazing!!!
Tropico Mofongoβs food sends you straight to island paradise. Their mofongo is so delicious. The buttery garlic hits your soul and makes you want to go back for another bite to matter how full you are. Dipping your mofongo in broth also gives it a little more something special! I highly suggest you try the pizza empanada too. I like that they have vegetarian options as well. Highly recommend!
This was one of the best mofongos Ive ever had! I would highly recommend stopping in, there are so many choices! We had a party of nine and they were able to seat us quickly. The bathrooms are clean and there is a changing table for babies. Our waitress spoke both English and Spanish and was extremely helpful! The portion size is large and I enjoyed every bite!
Amazing food, staff and service. Especially Shirley for always going above and beyond.. I recommend everything wont disappoint
Good food and a decent price. Lunch tske out plate $10 including tax. Clean and staff was friendly
I definently recommend these Restaurant great prices and delicious food. I am not from Florida but trust me I will be visiting again in August. If you need good flavor Puerto Rican food and affordable this is the place to go many options to choose from. Good desserts and very good service. They serve a lot of food you will be able to take your left overs for dinner.
What a neat place. Wonderful friendly staff. Mouth watering Puerto Rican dishes. Had a Cuban sandwich. Very hearty. Fun atmosphere with Latin music.
If you want fresh authentic Spanish food this is your place.I ordered off the menu and the food came out hot and tasty
Always a favorite go to place whenever in town. Great food and large portion. Bring your appetite.
Nice spanish food restaurant that find mofongo and all kind meats that you can eat with them and also rice and beans
Great food great portions. Love the Trifongo!
Go here pack no big deal waited 20 to get seated. Spent 1 and a halve hour food was not great server well lets just say needed a hell of a lot more training people just because the restaurant is full dont automatically mean you are going to get a tip. Remember you are supposed to serve no just come to the table when the customer is calling you because you havent checked on them. Any checking on a table 4 times in an hour and a half is unacceptable in any restaurant and 2 out of the 4 times I had to call the server. Ill never be back garbage π.
Not from here but man this good is good. Not sure how it compares to its competitors but as a Midwesterner, this was fantastic!
Fast take out and covid safe for dinne in long line
This place is absolutely amazing! You know the food is good when you walk in and see locals. The place was full with construction workers on their lunch break. So many great options. Everything looks yummy. We all enjoyed the food. This is one place we will definitely come back to again and again when in Orlando.
I ordered the Pernil dinner, pork chop dinner with fried sweet plantains (murados). And I ordered the Mofongo with grilled chicken deluxe. Last night 30 minutes before closing time. I had never had mofongo before so I was really looking forward to this meal. My husband is PR so weβve had tons of PR food out in NYC.Well I was unsure if mofongo is normally so hard. I was hoping for a near mash potatoes consistency, but it was like harder than the tostones. The tostones didnβt have any flavor compared to the mofongo but the mofongo was too hard that I think it might have been old or just super dry. So my verdict- I guess I donβt like mofongo, but Iβll maybe try it again when Iβm home. The deluxe for me meant I had: rice and beans, sweet fried plantains and tostones so I get to try everything for the price of $5 over your normal meal. The meal did not disappoint. I loved the flavored white rice, beans, flavorful grilled chickens, and tostones! It can with lettuce and tomatoes too and some sauces. The deluxe was way too much food for one person. My daughter loved the pernil and my husband enjoyed his pork chops and side!
Really good food. They upgraded and extended the restaurant out. Employees were extremely nice.
I found that the food was a little bit pricey but what ticked me off was that one part of the order was forgotten to put it in the bag and I was too far away to go back. They should pay attention more to what theyβre doing instead of talking to one another.
Im very much a novice to authentic Latin food, but food was very flavorful and they do not skimp on quantity. We sat down and ordered off menu (the mofongo was delicious, and its monochrome appearance doesnt do justice to the complexity of it), but they also offer a combo deal that was popular at lunch time. Will definitely try it again!
Ive only ever had mofongo once before, so I cant say whats really good mofongo or not, but this was really delicious. I got the mofongo with churrasco, and everything was well seasoned and flavorful! I didnt want to stop eating it, but I was full from the large portion. It was a happy coincidence that the restaurant was near my hotel in Orlando. My only regret was that I didnt discover it sooner.
There always seen to be a problem when I order here, unfortunately the response that I received to top it off from the manager yari, so I ordered $20 platter steak with salad and no dressing was sent and spent $68 to be told there nothing they can do . I work in customer service and theres no way that would be my response . No need to worry you just lost a faithful customers. And this yari manager should be retrained.
This is a good place for Latin American food (Cuban/Puertorican). You can either choose to eat from a buffet for about $7 or order from the menu. Theres a big variety of options.I ended up splitting my plate in 2 as they served lot of food. Rice, meat, fried plantain, shrimp salad. It was very tasty!Waitresses speak English and Spanish. They are really nice, seemed a bit too busy or rushed as the place was full. You need to wait to be seated but I wasnt instructed how the place works. It would be great if that could be more organized.Restrooms could use a bit more care, floors were dirty but nothing serious.Good if you want to eat something different.
Came out of town and wanted some homemade food after being out at parks majority of the day. Its just exactly what I need it. The pollo frito was juicy with good seasoning. I dont think Ive ever had jobarrito this good. The tripleta was mouth watering and best of all it was the buy 1 get 2nd half off happy hour.
Our favorite and unique restaurant to eat mofongo. Last 2 times the mofongo hasnt taste the same, just hope they havent changed the chef cause. Really good food
Good place to eat some Puerto Rican food, I had the mofongo with carne frita. The mofongo was on the salty side but both were really tasty and the staff was great, prices are also fair.
Very nice service and attention. Great fresh selection of authentic foods from Cuba hot on a hot food table to pick from . Nice variety of authentic fruit juices, other beverages and desserts.
Food was average and food took a while.Mofongo was good, but grilled chicken was a bit dry. I tried their flan and guava pastry and they were horrible.
This place has great homestyle latin food. You can order off their menu or off the ready cooked line. I ate the ready cooked, the red beans were my favorite. Reminded me of grandmas beans. I Recommend!
This is the BEST hispanic restaurant Ive ever been to. The food was amazing! Along with the service. The restaurant is amazingly decorated, clean, spacious, and amazing service. Well be backβ€β€β€β€β€
Perfect place for good mofongo or trifongo.
Had the most delicious meal of our one week stay in the Orlando area today at Tropico Mofongo. The food was seasoned perfectly, the service was speedy, friendly and professional. Portions were huge and we will definitely return when we are back in the area. Two things that stood out: cleanliness was outstanding and our server Ada was top notch!
Nice spot to eat, food was delicious service a bit slow but overall really worth going.
Really good mofongo 1 of the best, but theres always issues trying to order for delivery through a 3rd party. Their not consistent. These leche is not good.
Delicious food with great flavor! Thereβs other places where itβs too dry or to soggy but here Iβve never ran into a problem. I work nearby and order on the phone to go pick up and itβs always done in 15 minutes giving me time to go pick it up and itβs STILL warm when I get there. Canβt get any better than that ππ»
Food was delicious. I ordered a mofongo con carne de cerdo frita and my husband ordered a churrasco. Dessert was flan de vanilla. Todo fue riquΓsimo! Small, simple spot, but worth it!
In A Nutshell:-If you are looking for Puerto Rican food, you need to come grab a plate at Tropico Mofongo Restaurant.-My wife and I first tried mofongo (which is deep-fried green plantains mixed together w/ pork or seafood) in San Juan & since then we have been missing it badly.-Luckily you should have no problem finding good P.R. food when visiting Florida.-This small restaurant was very accommodating and has excellent, attentive service.-The food is plentiful.-They have just about every type of P.R. comfort food you can imagine (look at the photos below).-If you follow me, you know that I dont play around w/ food, I order A LOT.Overall, I highly recommend coming to eat here. Its cheap, good and youll get full.
I had been wanting true south American Caribbean food for awhile. The mofongo was excellent and the rice beans and beef was like home
Great food for a very affordable price. You actually get so much food I have to split my to go box into 2 meals. (No complaints here) I would recommend the yellow rice and the beef stew or the ox tails. Though I am pretty sure anything you order here will be delicious. The staff is friendly and willing to answer questions, which is always a plus in my book.
Very tasty food nice ambiance and excellent service.
Not bad. Not special either. For Spanish food places, my wife is the judge. If she raves about it, its good. When shes like, Eh... I believe her.
So excited that there is a lot of diversity in foods, we wanted Puerto Rican food, and we found this place, great homemade food, you get a lot for your money, highly recommended.
I been here before but this time the food was tasteless also i have order a meal call pollo al ajillo and it was more soup than chiken.Service was great just the food is lacking the guayaba sauce for the cheese it was so watery.
This place is horrible. The food is average. The customer service is despicable. The owner and the manager were not available to talk to about the bad service. Only the cashier whose name I think is Sherly was there. She had a horrendous bad attitude and some kind of I dont care approach towards customer complaining about bad service of one waitress rolling her eyes over obtaining sitting for my family. Adding insult to injury by delaying my service like she didnt care at all. The place doesnt look very hygienic as you can see in my pictures. This coupled with the bad service bad, bad, bad. They probably got a decent review from friends and family, but if you go there expect bad attitudes and horrible customer service. You ask for the owner and they dont give you the ability to reach him or her. I would change my review if there was a way to reach the owner. The employees dont even give you the name of the owner, who I see is very active here in other reviews. Lets see how truthful they are, if he makes himself available after my review.
Great place to eat. Family oriented and good latin food.
The food was very good. This place is underrated.
It was delicioso jajaja the food was good I lovet I recommended 200% en the worker are very good lovet
Tropico Mofongo has The Best Mofongo in Town. We tried the carne frita mofongo, the conch mofongo, all seafood mofongo the cuban sandwich and the Jefe. Everything was amazing. The ambience was fun and exiting. I loved the decor and the staff was excellent.
Stopped by this place cuz we were in the area, big place and super busy....i ordered the churassco, rice and beans that came with the steak were great but the steak was super cold.... I was originally giving this place a two star rating but then changed it to three, since my wife said her food was great so ymmv...
The best puertorican food in town.
Delicious food. Huge portions. You will not be sorry for coming here. Cuban sandwich is enough for two. The tostones are perfect. The rice and beans are amazing. Go here. Tons of choices.
Great attention, very clean, great price the food ufffff deliciuos good.
They have a selection of pre cooked food thats good. You can get those for a quick bite.
Very good food and service I love this place
My wife and I have been here 4 times. I remember the 1st, we were staying on Disney property and wanted something different and found this amazing place. We will always come back everytime we visit Orlando. Highly recommended. πππ
Delicious and authentic Puerto Rican food and excellent service
100% Puerto Rican food.
