THE ceramics destination in the area. I drive in from Harriman at least once a week for supplies and firing services and the immensely knowledgeable staff is always helpful and treats me like an old pal. Cannot recommend them highly enough.
Loved it there.what an awesome place and beautiful hand made pottery
Incredible environment with helpful and caring staff. Everything you need for ceramics. They superbly created a space for beginners and professionals with room for anything in between! Plus the best gallery around for purchasing one of a kind pieces. Fair prices and fantastic stuff. Highly recommend to anyone.
A great place for ceramic arts and learning. If you need supplies for working with ceramics, they are a great source. If you want to learn, mighty mud teaches 6 week classes for beginners and more experienced people. And if you dont want to invest that much time or do a date night they also have single night workshops and classes.
I really enjoyed my classes that I got to participate in before the City was shut down in April. While quarantined, I purchased a couple of their “at home” kits. My husband and I really enjoyed making a custom birdhouse and butter dish. The butter dish especially, will be treasured forever!
The classes are fantastic!
Staff was wonderful. Meg was funny and engaged. Overall, the raku evening was nothing special though. A quick here are the steps. Then half an hour to paint an item, followed by either a 1 hour or an hour and 45 minute wait for the piece with nothing to do - they even recommended we leave and come back later. There would have been plenty of time to talk about the history of raku, design, chemistry, how the pots are made, etc - so many other topics while we were waiting on the firing. So glad I didnt talk hubby into doing this with me! Hed have been bored out of his mind. At least I got some errands run during the wait time. Not a do again for me.
Love their isle of misfit pottery around the holidaze!
Awesome experience for a first time thrower! We survived covid in the middle of our lessons! Mighty mud worked with us and created a wonderful learning experience for us beginners!
Great ceramic studio, helpful and knowledgeable staff!
My friends and I went there for a girls night. We had a great time. The staff were very energetic and presented things very well. We will go back!
Friendly staff and a wonderful collection of great local artists and maker spaces! I was able to pick up the supplies needed for my ceramics studio and work with them to order additional items they dont necessarily have in the retail store.
An oasis, an incubator, a ceramics studio - however you describe Might Mud you will certainly fall short of capturing its beauty and contribution to the local arts community. In its third location, now located near the heart of Knoxville, the artisan staff are seemingly always able to meet you where you’re at. Whether you just need supplies for a home studio or are looking to learn through class instruction, you are covered. You can rent spaces of various sizes to match your needs, and the larger artist studios are a treat to explore for inspiration. Looking to pick up a gift? They have large holiday markets as well as an array of works from resident artists available for purchase year round at reasonable prices.
It was nice,wonderful art,nice people.
Good open space for plenty of people. Has a good selection of classes for beginners, intermediate, expert, and for just killing a evening classes. Also has artwork for sale but not as much as I would like. Cheerful instructors
Great resource for artists and art seekers
Gallery and studio space, very nice
This is great place for beginners and seasoned creatives. I recommend the classes if you can.
Ive bought 2 Groupons here over the past year, and both times I have had to call to ask a question and been met with rude responses. My friend called and set up our reservation for the pottery painting, and she forgot that I had bought 2 so my 5 year old could join us. She asked if I could call and let them know, which I did. When I called, I simply asked if I could update it. The woman was very rude stating that she had already made exceptions for others and wouldnt do it for me. I did not ask for an exception. I literally was trying to figure out what to do. It was Valentines week (we werent coming for that so we werent thinking about that), and they were at their max.... and told me that my friend and I needed to put our heads together to plan this, as if we had done it on purpose. Why would you tell a paying customer that you made exceptions for others but not them? Shouldnt it be for no one if that is going to be the case? Why do some get exceptions and not others? Why point it out to the person that you are refusing to do it for? I dont know. All that was necessary would have been, Im really sorry, but we are completely maxed out due to Valentines week. Would you mind coming in another week?, and I would have been completely fine with that. There was NO need to be that rude or nasty to a paying customer. Now that its happened twice in a little over a year, this must be the general customer service. It may very well be that its just the person that answers the phone and not the teachers. Either way, its enough to not spend my money here. I was going to pay for my husband and I to do the pottery spinning class for a date night but not now. I got a refund for my Groupon, and Ill take my money to Liza Moz. They have never been that rude to me.
On first Friday we explored the space and viewed artists work. Its an excellent space to work with clay. I was blown away by the amazing work on display, the artists have made.
I enjoyed my visit to Mighty Mud. They had exactly what I was looking for and saved me 1 1/2 hours driving one way to get to a supplier for clay. The guy who helped me was very nice and very helpful. I will be using them as a supplier for getting clay from now on. Sure wish I had known this wasnt just a classroon/place for learning to make pottery.
I went with a group of coworkers for a birthday. Now, I am not what one would call crafty, nor artsy. I could barely color in the lines during school. Lets just say... I wasnt thrilled to go.However, I had a great time here. Ellie, our instructor, was terrific in spite of my lack of any talent with clay whatsoever. She gave very clear directions, was very personable and fun, and showed me how to fix my mistakes. I would recommend this place wholeheartedly.
Way more fun than I ever would have expected.
Attended a pottery class with some family and friends instructed by Ellie & had a blast!
Another nice place to visit when around the old city go on up central and visit. Nice clay products cups bowls watch them be made
Started a class here and I love it. The instructor is kind and encouraging. Very excited to continue with my classes!
Fantastic studio to learn pottery. I highly recommend learning and practicing here. Incredibly friendly instructors. Very easy to learn with!
Always Friendly and Professional and helpful. They have all i need for My ceramic business. great slip. Glad we found them.
I had higher expectations of what the evening would be like so I was somewhat disappointed and glad that I had purchased a Groupon for the event. We were given only 30 minutes of time to apply glaze to a pot that you are able to select(the choices were ok...basic vase forms)After glazing there was nothing planned and many people left the location to visit bars/restaurants. We were to wait for the pieces to be fired. After more than an hour waiting it was time to remove the pieces from the kiln and complete the process which was fun to watch. We then cleaned the smoke from our pieces and shared with the group.I will not go to this workshop a second time for even for the discount price.
A lot of fun. Staff is great!
Best place ever!
