Have repaired two of my sewing machines. No complaints.

I got my sewing machine as a gift and had some issues with the auto thread they went out of their way to help me and take care of the problem and show me how to use some of the other things on the machine. Wonderful and friendly staff. They also are stocked with sewing materials and other things that you dont see else where. The other places I called to help with my problem would not help. I was very impressed with the service and kindness of the staff. I will now go out of my way to buy anything I need from them. Worth the drive.

My friends and I went to this shop to look for cute fabric to make masks for our family and friends. I found a couple cute patterns and the prices were good. However the reason I gave a one star rating and will not be going back is that not one of the 5 or 6 employees in the relatively small shop was wearing a mask, just days after the county wide mask mandate. This seemed especially risky as it is not a large store and there were also several customers inside at once. Wearing a mask is really not much to ask for in order to protect our families, friends, and community. If this is how little the staff and owners care about the health and safety of their customers, they will not be getting my business, even after the present danger has passed.

I went into the shop looking for some general information on Juki and Brother sewing machines. Kathy and the other ladies were SO welcoming. They were attentive without overcrowding me. They went out of their way to explain the pros and cons of each machine. They were very patient with all of my questions. Also, they let me play with each machine to get a feel for the differences. I will definitely come back to Midsouth to buy my new machine once I make my final decision. As an added bonus, they entertained my husband with stories as I looked around. 👍🏾

When to Midsouth today to find a pair of curved scissors. Was not sure about the best pair to use. Karen & the ladies were so helpful in helping me decide. The remember who you are & always willing to help. On top of that they have an App you can download and save you more money. Great place!

If you are looking to purchase a Brother Embroidery machine, this us the place to come! Great deals on gently used traded ins, floor models and purchasing a new machine. Fred in the service department is the bomb!! You can TRUST HIM with servicing your machine, and I dont say that lightly. If you are NOT local to the store, they are WORTH the drive. Highly recommend.

If you are working in an industry supported totally by discretionary spending, you should be welcoming and accommodating to your customers rather than complaining that you hate working with fabric and tossing fabric at them.

The lady that’s over the vinyls for adhesive and iron on was very rude to me. i asked to exchange what she sold me she told me it was adhesive vinyl and it wasn’t. she told me that those words didn’t come out of her mouth and pretty much called me a liar.

I am taking my business somewhere else. They gave me the wrong order. I ask for a brother bobbin cover and they gave me another brand that wont fit. It is pretty bad that they make all sell final and wont swap it for the one I needed. I would have been glade to pay the difference. But no so I found what I needed. They wont be getting my business and I wouldnt do my costumers that way.

I took my machine to Midsouth Sewing not knowing if the problem was the operator (ME!!) or the machine. (smile) I was given professional help and my machine was fixed in a jiffy! What a precious Christmas Gift! I will make it a point to always check here first when I need to learn something new or need new supplies! Way to Go, Midsouth!

This place is incredible! Very nice, very professional. Another singer repair shop said my bobbin case needed replaced and the needlecthreader was broken. They charged me for a new bobbin case. 15 minutes into use it broke again. Fred at this shop looked at it and said the bobbin case was put in wrong and the threader was fine. Guess who will get my business from now on?

I left my machine there three weeks ago and still have heard nothing as to whether it is repaired or not. The store hours are not on the web site and the store opens later than someone from E.TN might need. Sorry for the negative comments but I cant reach you and your number is not easy to see it is so small on the web page. The new shop layout is very nice and the fabrics are beautiful and unique.

I purchased a Janome from Midsouth Sewing 15 months ago and also had my older Janome serviced there. Neither experience went well for me. Regarding the service on my older Janome, I brought it in because it wasn’t drawing the fabric through evenly. The fabric would slide around as though the feed dogs weren’t gripping. I explained the problem when I dropped it off at the desk, but when I went to pick it up, the tech had cleaned the machine and done nothing to fix the problem, which I didn’t realize until after I got home and it didn’t work. I had to pay for a cleaning and make time to go back in when the tech would be there to explain and show him the problem. He said I had worn out the feed dogs so he ordered new ones and replaced them. It worked better after but wasn’t quite right. The other problem was with the new machine I purchased. With my purchase I was given a package of bobbins in a zip lock bag that was labeled as Brother bobbins. After using the new Janome machine for several months, I started having trouble with the bobbin jumping around and causing problems with my stitches. This resulted in many hours of frustration. I called several times and was unable to call when the tech was there to talk to him about the issue. I understand schedules so I planned to get his schedule and call back when he would be there. In the meantime, I decided to go ahead and purchase a new machine at a different store in Knoxville. While there, I mentioned my issue with the bobbin and the tech said it sounded like the bobbin was the wrong size. I thought that couldn’t be the problem as I always purchase the name brand bobbins for all my machines. Based on his comment, I checked and the bobbins from Janome have a symbol and the ones Midsouth Sewing gave me with my Janome did not. So I tried them and realized my entire problem was due to the bobbins provided by Midsouth. Those bobbins are the only ones that jump around in the machine. A store selling machines should provide the proper name brand bobbins for the machines. Due to the problem I had getting my old machine serviced and the issues with my new machine, I have no trust in Midsouth Sewing for service nor sales.

Do not take sewing machines in for repair! I took my Brother embroidery one (this place is an authorized Brother dealer which is why I drove over an hour to take it to them) in for just a clean and check--it was working perfectly. After over $300.00 it has not worked the same since. I took it back because it was not sewing properly-- a number of parts had been replaced and there was obviously a problem with the new bobbin case. That was replaced. When I got it home, it was still not right. The problem was still the bobbin. I pulled out the bobbin shuttle which looked nothing like the original, replaced it with the old one, and it is working now, though not as well as before I took it in. And the one problem I had with the machine, a difficulty in removing the needle when I needed to replace it, was not addressed at all! Machine cleaning is always pricey but this was ridiculous, and obviously parts were replaced that didnt need replacing--certainly one--likely more! Beware.

Great prices, but beware the all-sales-are-final policy. I asked before I bought an expensive machine as a gift for wife if I could return it unopened: no. Luckily shes happy with it.

Would give it 5 stars for their vinyl alone if they had more accommodating hours. Its great for short notice orders but will continue to buy the bulk of our supplies online.

Their knowledge on vinyl is elementary at at best. When having one of our owners embarrassed, and humiliated today with her daughter because of their negligence was the last straw. We bought vinyl, and per the receipt all sales are final. Well, the manager realized her employee undercharged for the vinyl, and insisted that the difference was on us to correct. They fail to realize this type of burden is never on the customer, and to have the gaw to force this ultimatum illuminates their standard of professionalism. We will be going online, or to Micheal’s in the future in hopes our business will be appreciated, and respected at the forefront of their customer service. Creating a hassle for a repeat a customer over your gross negligence is exactly how you destroy local appeal.

I came in to find a newer embroidery machine and Kathy was very helpful. They agreed to hold the machine until I had a chance to speak with my husband who was not available until Saturday. They were very accommodating since I am from out of town.

They are over priced. I can find the same items online for half the price & free shipping. I only go here if Im in a pinch. The staff is friendly but not very helpful, unless they think youll be spending alot of money. I prefer to shop online or drive to Chattanooga

Was told I had to buy PE Design for the Brother Scan n Cut. I was new to this and therefore bought it (over $900)!!!! I have almost worn out my Scan n Cut and have not used the PE Design once!!!!!!A lady at MidSouth told me they couldnt service my embroidery machine because I didnt purchase it there and tried to sell me one of theirs. I called later and spoke to someone else and she told me that they are a dealer and could service any Brother as long as I provide a receipt.Very disappointed in the scamming.I would love to find somewhere else to get my vinyl.

Coming from Dallas, Texas, used a find a quilt shop app to locate a local quilt shop. What a disappointment, fabrics $11.99 no matter if the fabrics were from 5 seasons ago or this seasons fabrics, and Batiks were $13.99 period.... to say the least I didnt buy any thing...what a waste of time.

Went to buy a Dream Machine as well as other things from this dealer. The owner (male) told me, after we agreed on a purchase price for everything, that the machine he was selling me was a demo. He said he would knock $100 off the price. However, I explained that a babylock delaer was willing to knock off $1000 on her demo machines if I wanted one of those. He got real pissy with me and said well you get the full warranty! I explained the baby lock dealer offered the same. I said, well we need to open the machine and see how many stitches are on it. He got down right condesending with me and told me he wasnt going to do that, that I could just wait on a new one but the offer was for TODAY ONLY! Note - I asked about lifetime discounts=NONE (which all other shops offered). I asked about a starter embroidery thread set...after a fit he offered 10 spools, which is a standard coupon they send to customers...and of the cheaper thread too! He said he would give me 20% discpunt only if I purchased one of every color of thread. After being disrespected and snapped at, I walked out! I was NOT ABOUT TO SPEND $13,000+ (with all the things I was purchasing) and be treated like this. I went to the Brother dealer in Tazwell and purchased everything. I have a gold star with her sewing store and get lifetime 20% off everything except clearance! I wouldnt set foot in Midsouth Sewing dealership and giving them a 1 star is high. Also, when I wanted to schedule my one on one to learn my machine, they couldnt fit me in for a week and a half. Beckys sewing made time for me that week (bought machine wed and had one on one friday!). That is how someone who spends that kind of money should be treated...not as if they are being ridiculous because the owner is selling a demo machine and wont even show stitch count on the machine. Also, just in case this was not clear, up until the time when we went to get the actual machine to ring out the purchase, were we told that there were no new machines at the dealer!! That to me is beyond shady...and trying to force a purchase THAT DAY only for the package price, even if I waited on the new one!!!!! Shady shady and disrespectful!!
