Great company good prices fast service its the only company I use anymore for transmission repair from my company

I had issues with my Ford Focus for a long time. Ford wouldn’t warranty it anymore so I had these guys rebuild it. They did other work to my car too and I couldn’t say how well they explained why the transmission was a flawed design. Thank you for how you explained things and warranting your work.

The individual I spoke to on the phone told me to bring my vehicle out anytime for a test drive for a better understanding of the issues at hand. I drove all the way out to Kuna the next day from downtown Boise to have that test drive on my vehicle. Once out there I had to wait for :15 min for the owner to get back to the shop, once he returned I was informed he was too busy to see me. Then the office guy had the audacity to tell me I should make an appointment. Yes, I did, with another shop. Cheers.

I have taken all my vehicles to them multiple times. They have always been extremely nice and very fairly priced. Knew this was they shop for me when I called and asked for a trans service and they explained they will not do a “flush” and that they always do a drain and fill. Took my truck in for check light issue. They replaced an evap pump for somewhere in the 400 dollar range. Light came back on less than two weeks later, couldnt get me in that week made an appointment took my truck in didnt hear anything that whole day, called next day they didnt get to it....whats the point of making an appointent? They have been fair and timley on two other occasions. This time i am very dissaponted in there service and customer service.

I brought my olds in to get trans leak fixed and it still leaks today so I ended up going to different mechanic to have it fixed right, paid for the same problem twice. Ive known Keith for years hes a good guy but the work I got wasnt quality work for what I paid, I was very disappointed.

My wifes car was not hardly driving at all. It wold shift hard. chunk when going from drive to reverse and run in neutral. While going down the freeway it would kick out of overdrive. Took it to affordable transmission in Kuna. Got a call later that day with the test results. It was not the transmission but the shift assembly. They checked the whole car at my request to see if we could improve the mph and performance. The work was done and ready to pick up on Friday, (I took it in on Wednesday), and it now runs better then it ever has. Most importantly the price was right.While picking up her car I dropped my truck off to have the check engine light looked at. Again great service that was fast and very reasonably priced.KUDOS TO THIS SHOP FOR THE EXCELLENT WORK

Really nice people and the cost was great! Had a ton of problems with my Mariner and from research online I thought for sure it would cost an arm and a leg. I was definitely pleasantly surprised and now it runs super smooth! Well, as smooth as an ‘06 can run anyway (haha). They even waived the diagnostic fee and labor for one of the repairs which was super awesome! Only downside is that they get booked up fast, but I guess that makes sense with all the 5 star reviews. Will definitely go back here for future repairs!

I highly recommend coming here. Definitely saved me so much and fixed my car but made sure everything was fine. With a Volkswagen and the tricky clutches they had no problem, and didnt do more to try and get money out of me. Call them, you WONT be disappointed!!!

Not good. I brought it in to get transmission serviced for 120,000 miles, and to find the source of a coolant leak. The leak was in the left front of engine compartment. They called and said the water pump was bad and that it needed a timing belt, and that with the transmission service it would be 1016.00.When we picked up the car I discovered that they had taken out my brand new spark plugs and replaced them to the tune of 101.00. This made me nervous so I started checking furthe . The transmission fluid was overfilled and dirty, definitely not flushed. I cant see any evidence that the water pump was replaced, but I doubt it was the source of the leak since it is in the back right of the engine compartment, opposite side from the leak. So something doesnt sound right there.The biggest problem is that they had a really bad attitude and would not give me any information or listen to me. I guess Im just an idiot

Went in for emissions and was told they quit doing them 12/1/2020. Just an FYI.

I took my vehicle in for service and got a call with a small list of things that needed to be done. They were very polite and courteous and had the repairs done the next day. BUT, when I picked it up (after hours) the problem I took it in for was still very much present when I drove it home.I took it back early the next morning and spoke to Craig about my concerns. He took ownership of the issue and personally saw that it was corrected quickly. I appreciated his professional, courteous manner and that he did everything he could to make it right. Ill be back.

Wanted to charge 360 dollars to change a part. Cost of part was 130 dollars. Thats 230 dollars to unplug a sensor and remove three bolts remove sensor then install new sensor install three bolts and plug sensor back in. Took 5 minutes in my garage. RIP OFF in my opinion! Will never go back.Update. Replaced parts that were diagnosed as the cause of the problems I am experiencing. New injection pump and fuel pressure regulator. They wanted just under $3000.00 to do the job. I did it myself in a day for about $900.00 and thats with an upgraded injection pump. Did not resolve the problem. In my opinion they shouldnt be in business.Actually I used OEM bosch sensor for the injection pump. $131.00. Injection pump I used one from industrial injection that has a one year unlimited mile warranty. 790.00 No you did not properly diagnose my issues. Pressure relief valve on the common rail was bad. My lift pump is not working properly either and it was supposed to be checked and it didnt happen. I dont appreciate assumptions of the parts I used. -Unfortunately you lack information and assumed the parts I used. Thats a great example of poor customer service. fair price? I dont think so.

I would NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE!!! I took my jeep to them after being told the transmission lines were leaking and they needed to be replaced. They charged me $400 to replace the lines (2) and have the transmission serviced. Less than 2 weeks later I started leaking transmission fluid really bad. I took it to a mechanic friend to find that they only replaced 1 line and when they dropped the pan to do the service they stripped a bolt. Instead of re-threading it they just put silicone around the bolt and called it good causing the pan to leak fluid as well. They also tried to have me come back and pay $700 to have my leaking radiator replaced and spark plugs changed. They are liars and crooks. So disappointing for such a small town business. I had higher hopes. Dont waste your money there.

In my experience, most auto mechanics are crooks. Not these guys. They are honest people who do quality work at half the cost of the dealer. My car hasnt driven this good in a long time. I highly recommend them to anyone with car troubles.

Fast and affordable, indeed they follow their namesake. They usually price shop, but lately they are the cheapest around. They have multiple payment plan options, if you really need it. They do fast tune ups and I always check in with them before going on a road trip or a long drive or camping trip.

I recently picked up a 1998 Mazda MPV 4-wheel drive, but soon found problems (surprise, surprise) beyond those mentioned by the previous owner. After extensive research just to confirm the type of transmission the vehicle has, I paid Affordable Transmission to run a diagnostic test and learned the transmission needed an entire rebuild. My heart sank as my good deal quickly turned into a nightmare; I was stranded 1,000 miles from home. I felt pretty stressed about all of it, but Keith (the owner) took the time to meet with me to discuss my options and we came to an agreeable solution. Long story short - I have a new transmission (with a nationwide warranty) and Im able to continue my journey home. Never had a problem with their work. Ive had several vehicles in for repairs. They did a major tune up on my truck which I then used for several months. Then the truck sat unused for about two years. When I tried to use it again it ran very rough. I took it back to Affordable. They stood behind the work (after 2 1/2 years), replaced the almost unused spark plug wires and had the engine running smooth as a top -- and no charge!! I couldnt have been happier with their work and integrity.

This is the only place I trust to take my vehicle. For years I did most of my own repairs but lately just dont have the time or patience to do it. Keith is always fair and right on with the diagnosis and the quote. Most of the repairs have actually come in under his estimate. In fact one time they took my vehicle for a day or two trying to get a intermittent problem to occur and when it didnt happen I was charged nothing despite all the time they took trying to get the problem to occur. I even took it to a Ford dealership the next time the problem occurred and they couldnt find the problem after having the vehicle for a full week but I was defiantly charged for that and they tried to up sell a break job and oil change while they were at it. Never again, from now on its Affordable Transmission only!

Of all the shops I called about the rebuild of my 700r 4L60 trans, Keith was the only one that asked the right questions as to what the end use would be so he could build it to fit. The shop went out of its way to make the job right, even helped me get the specialty torque converter I would need.

I have had my car, boyfriends car, and several friends cars in here and always loved the honesty coming from the mechanics.His aunt had her car in for a squeaking belt that turned out to be a leaking water pump. They called her and told her it was still under warranty, the warranty would cover it and didnt want to have her pay for something she was covered for.Another friend had an engine blow up a few months after they fixed warped heads. They could not find an engine for it as it was way too old. Not only did they not charge her to check it out again, they refunded her payments from the previous repair and said they did not feel right charging her.These guys are great and will definitely tell you what is actually wrong. Dealerships have quoted $1100 to fix evaps leaks and these guys fixed it with hose and some clamps for $200. Not only would I recommend but highly suggest them.

If you want a place to take your vehicle where the owners truly care and want to help at good prices and quality work i would recommend them. Never take anything here they have no clue in hell what they are doing. For starters they had my car for over a year just to put an engine in that was already built. After I finally got it back after more than a year it wont run correctly if at all no matter how many times I take it back, I gave them chances to fix the problem but they never can just want more and more money.They are crooked and should be out of business by now!

My sons truck has needed a clutch for months now and i did not have the money to pay for it. $800 was the going rate according to Boise Clutch and a number of other places. I had one offer by a backyard moonlighter on craigslist for $600 but I was nervous about the quality i would get. I described the problem to Affordable Trans Repair in Kuna and they said they could discount the job to $700 (total out the door) and have it done the same day. They would include a machined flywheel and OEM heavy duty clutch (no cheap parts). They kept their word and so far so good. I have had the truck back for a couple weeks and the clutch is working as it should. They even warned me of a possible problem in the future with the slave assembly which could go bad due to the higher pressures of a new clutch. They said since my slave is mounted outside and is easy to change that i should not worry unless a problem occurs. Thank you so much for the discount and quality service. I am going back for some brake repair soon.

If your sign says your open until 5:30 to do emission tests don’t send me away because everyone cleans up to go home at 4:45!!!

Stand behind there work at a fair price

If your looking for a shop that works for you and with you on a repair. These guys are not it. These guys will not do what you ask. They find whatever way or reason they can to make an extra dollar. Or Thousand.. DO NOT go to these guys for what should be a simple repair.

I will never take a vehicle to Affordable Transmission again and I encourage you to stay away. In October 2013 I had them replace the clutch, flywheel, etc., in my chevy 1500 pickup. Within a couple months I had a pretty rough vibration when the rpms could go above 2000, in other words normal driving. It also felt like the clutch was not engaging / disengaging quite right. After ruling out a few things I asked Affordable Transmission to take a look at it. They inspected it and told me the clutch was fine and that I had some kind of engine problem causing the vibration and roughness. I spent the next several months trying to solve this problem by doing a full tune up, change air filter, fuel filter, etc. I had the exhaust system tested and it was fine. I finally had to pay a shop to diagnose the issue. The conclusion they reached was a badly out of balance flywheel. It took some convincing, but Affordable Transmission agreed to look at it again and eventually, after they had the pickup for almost three weeks, they replaced the flywheel. The communication was horrible, I had to call them almost every day during that time just to keep getting the same answer, we will try to fit it in tomorrow. fit it in? You guys screwed up. Take care of it!! But, the fun does not stop there. After getting the pickup back home I immediately noticed a puddle of tranny fluid under the pickup. I had enough of Affordable Transmission so I paid someone else to fix their issues. It turned out the tranny, which was not leaking at all before Affordable Transmission, was now leaking in three places. They had broken the gasket between the tranny and the transfer case. The backup light sensor was now broken and leaking. But, the best of all, there was NO gasket between the tranny and the shift lever plate on top of tranny, and the plate was only bolted down hand tight!! I could have been driving and had the lever come right out in my hand!! One other thing they screwed up was the tranny mount was not tightened up sufficiently and was needing replaced (which they did not inform me). The mechanic who fixed all of these issues said it was the most negligent transmission work he had ever encountered. It was clear that Affordable Transmission was unhappy about replacing the flywheel on their dime and just wanted to get my truck the hell out of their shop. Their crappy work cost me months of not feeling comfortable driving my truck out of town or pulling my tent camper, about three weeks with nothing to drive, and several hundred dollars and time to fix their negligence.

When the transmission failed in my AWD Astro, I called Keith on a recommendation. He asked the right questions, built the transmission I needed and got it done in just a week. Plus a first time customer discount!
