A true LaCrosse institution! Lovely proprietors and the best chocolates in the tri-state area. But also, ice cream — chocolate marshmallow — divine! Roasted nuts! Classic candies. Just ignore any crabby reviews — this place is wonderful. DO NOT MISS the LOVE FOOD candy which is only available in the winter!

I grew up in the area, and everyone I have ever known has failed me. I am almost 26 years old and nobody have ever even reccomended the sweet shop to me. My spouse took me there for the first today and I had some of the best chocolates Ive had in my life. 11/10 would reccomend.

Great place with an old school soda fountain feel. Their homemade ice cream cant be beat! Lots of various chocolate treats. Very busy lately so Id go early before they run out. The peanut butter shake is my personal favorite.

Their ice cream is WAYYYYYY better than Pearl. Price is so much cheaper too. My favorites from this place is birthday ice cream and mocha cappuccino.

This is an old style candy ice cream shop. We had chocolates and ice cream and they were both very good.

Went to the Sweet Shop from out of state while passing through La Crosse. The workers were extremely rude. Will not be making a return visit.

You come to La Crosse this place is a must. 100 years and many of their recipes are unchanged. Everything they make is good. But their Carmel apples in the fall are the best period!!

Looked forward to taking our daughter here. I had been here when I was young and have great memories of it. The service was terrible. The girl working didn’t seem like she wanted to there and was not helpful at all. Chocolate was good and would have bought more if the service was better. It felt like we put her out by coming there to make a purchase

Today I decided to take my daughter out for some candy and ice cream. We took the candy home but had the ice cream in the car. I must say the blueberries and raspberry candy are amazing, like them better than other places I have been.

This place is so full of memories for me. The 3 people that took me most often are gone now but I take my kids when I get the chance. Great treats for everyone. Great shakes. I love all the variety. Friendly. Fun.

At 50 yrs old, my fondest memories were getting that malt or shake. The smell of chocolate candies being made is still the same today. At Logan Middle, before school, a quick stop at the sweet shop with a bunch of friends. Memorable.

Great Icecream

Best little town sweet shop!! The caramel and anise suckers are such a treat. Amazing ice cream snacks as well. Everything is handmade and you can tell! The shop looks the exactly the same as when my mom used to enjoy her Logan High sundae in the 1960s. Whenever we return to town, this is a place we never skip!!

The Sweet Shop Turtle Sundae has been favorite for 40+ years. The homemade sweet vanilla ice cream, caramel and hot fudge are combined with the perfect salted pecans. It is big enough to share...but I cant.If on the go, the Grasshopper ice cream in waffle cone has the best minty chocolate flavor around!The candy counter had home made old fashion candies and chocolates in addition to modern packages candies. The popular seasonal Love Food is only made in Fall/Winter, so if it is in stock, try it while you can.

It was wonderful! Ive been enjoying their candy and ice cream since I was a kid, 60+ years. We moved away when I was 15, but I get back as often as I can. The Sweet Shop is always at the top of places I have to go. Best candy anywhere! And the service is great, you get taken care of very quickly and politely. I will keep coming back!

Historic, old school and beautiful. The ice cream aint bad either! During Christmas they have cinnamon sticks that are dipped in chocolate, oh me oh my! A must stop if youre rolling by.

A single scoop is more than that, and is served in an old-fashioned tulip glass. Great selection of flavors, all homemade. They also have other ice cream treats... shakes, sundaes, etc. Didnt try the candy side of the store, but it all is homemade as well and looked delicious. A funky, old fashioned kind of place well worth the visit.

Fantastic Ice Cream Shop right here and in my area too! I always love coming here because it is a family run business and the older gentlemen that runs it is so sweet. I love ordering Blue Moon or a Sundae here it is so refreshing on a hot Summers day and the prices are amazing. I compare this to the Pearl Downtown because they are both historical lacrosse businesses and have so much charm. I love going here and it brings back so many memories.

A trip back in time to when ice cream and candy shops were inexpensive, and genuine. The staff takes pride in the high quality of their homemade ice cream and candies. I enjoy taking my grandkids here.I wish every town still had a place like this.

The Sweet Shop is one of the oldest candy shops in La Crosse. Theyre always fun to visit and fun to look around. They have extra staff during the holidays to handle the crowds, lookers and all the customers. It always bring back lots of great memories and fun thoughts. I highly recommend it.

Coming to The Sweet Shop is like stepping back in time. I feel a lot better letting our kids have the homemade candy and ice cream as opposed to the overly processed stuff youll get elsewhere. Although the ambiance isnt the best, thats not what youre going there for.

This shop was a sweet surprise after attending a funeral across the street today. I have had some fine chocolate in my time and this IS certainly one of the smoothest sweet tasting chocolate ever! A must when we go back!

We came in late to celebrate an 8th grade graduation. The staff looked wiped out and not at all ready for the wave of customers that came in close to close. Might consider longer hours... especially during hot summer months. Service and treats were excellent!

By far the best place in the area for HOMEMADE Icecream and chocolate! There are other candies from back in the early years that people are fond of. The store, multi-generational, the charm and warmth are still there as you walk in the door. Yum!
