Our first visit...excellent food & service..friendly fun staff..had the pear salad with chicken..cream of cauliflower soup.. the rueben sandwich....we will go back & try some more goodies...
My friend and I went here back in November and we both were rushed to the hospital… the cobourg nurse said my friend could have died since he was anaphylactic. I wish I could say this review is a joke… but unfortunately it is not.I thought their food was phenomenal. However, whatever was in their chicken that they did not prepare properly… I will never go here again.
Service and food was amazing. If your in cobourg its a great spot to catch a bite.
This is our absolute favourite place to eat in Cobourg!!! Excellent food and service. Staff are amazing!!
Great food, friendly staff and awesome ambience. Loved the pear and Brie sandwich and King St Salad.
My wife and I dropped in on the King St. Deli & Bars grand opening for a late lunch. The experience was disappointing. The menu is limited, as is their selection of beers (11 craft beer is the only offering). If you are looking for variety the King St. Deli & Bar is to be avoided. Besides offering a limited food/beverage selection, the quality of the food is just slightly above being passable. I ordered the Montreal Smoke Meat Sandwich. Having grown up in Montreal, I know real Montreal smoke meat and mentioned this to our waitress. She assured me their smoke meat was authentic Montreal smoke meat... she was wrong! The King St. Deli & Bar should either take their Montreal Smoke Meat Sandwich off their menu, or at least remove the word Montreal.Unless the King St. Bar & Deli get their act together fast they will evaporate as so many other eateries have before in Cobourg, leaving the the towns restaurant landscape to continue to be served by The Matterhorn Restaurant, Oasis Bar & Grill, The Dutch Oven and The Buttermilk Café, which offer a decent size menu (food and drinks) at reasonable prices, coupled with excellent service resulting in value for your money.Given the stiff competition the King St. Deli & Bar faces I am surprised this establishment is run more like a hobby than a serious business venture.
We ordered a catered lunch for 18 people from King St. Kitchen & Bar and it was phenomenal! They provided a variety of gourmet sandwiches that were big and delicious, the salads were fresh and flavourful, and the desserts were fantastic. Everyone loved it!! They provided everything we needed to enjoy our meal (napkins, cutlery, cream and sugar, plates, etc.). They were very helpful and responsive to our questions when placing the order, and were able to accommodate our every need. We had plenty of food for everyone, and it was ready on time. I have enjoyed dining in for lunch and dinner, and now having had such a great catering experience, I would highly recommend King St. Kitchen & Bar for catering in the future.
Wonderful food and a nice patio
A new deli that opened in Cobourg recently. We shared a smoke meat sandwich and one of us had the cream of mushroom and parm soup. The sandwich came with just coleslaw and was all that was needed at the reasonable price point of $10-$14.In addition we found the shared plate was the perfect size for two people, with a local craft beer for each of us.Next is more of a comment than a critique. With the number of both local craft and a couple of commercial beers available on the menu (12-15 in total if I recall) it might be an idea to add ABV%, IBU and style to the beer description. For example I know that I like a 5-6% Stout while my wife likes a 60-80 IBU IPA. Saves a lot of questions for the servers.
Had a delicious lunch today. Randomly picked this place and we were very impressed. Food was absolutely delicious, staff are great! Definitely will go again!!
Teresa and her staff at King St Kitchen have been providing my company with catering for the past year or so. To give them 5 stars, just doesn’t seem like enough. There food is out of this world delicious, customer service is above and beyond, and they are as reliable as can be. I highly recommend King St Kitchen for an amazing catering experience!
A welcome discovery by my wife and I. Had lunch on the outdoor patio. I had the Ruben sandwich which was plentiful of all ingredients. Could have used much more sauerkraut though. I had their signature Ceasar: delicious; well decorated. My wife had the wrap - it was huge and plenty to take home. We will most definitely return.
Our meals were very good and the drinks very refreshing. It was really nice to have the main street shut down to cars which allows the downtown restaurants the opportunity to survive in these strange times. The town should do this more often this summer.
King Street Kitchen catered a lunch for 9 people for a work function for me. The communication, service and food were all amazing. My coworkers all enjoyed it. I would strongly recommend.
Have been here twice now and both times I received great service. Such a great little spot with a nice cool vibe and cute patio. So the food is fantastic! Best Ruben I have ever had. Menu features classic deli style soups, salads and sandwiches with a sophisticated twist but without over doing it. Its still deli food, but better. I will be back for sure. I need to try some of the cocktails they seem to have some great options. If word gets out too much about how great the food and service are Im thinking they are going to need a bigger spot. ;)
I had the Pear & Brie sandwich. It was so tasty. The coleslaw that came with it was perfect. Excellent sandwich.
Incredible meal, start to finish! Will be going back again very soon. The burger was the best I’ve ever had, and the sticky toffee pudding dessert was perfect!
This was phenomenal. Great food, friendly service, and wonderful atmosphere. We shared the daily feature (parmesan spinach dip), we each had a beer each, my fiance has the burger, and I had the poached pear salad. We were both so impressed that I am sure we will be back again soon! Some advice though: call in advance because space is limited.
No doubt the best food in town. Everything is done correctly - proper scratch cocktails, proper scratch food. The steak is the best Ive had in years - cooked perfectly, presented perfectly. If you havent gone, go.
Great food in a beautiful town. Stopped there on the drive from Toronto.
We stopped in at the Deli, as we noticed they were having their Grand Opening! I can appreciate the start of new ventures and was very pleased that we took the time to see what was this new establishment had to offer. I loved the idea of select local craft beers, complimented by cheese and meat boards and an excellent selection of desserts. I highly recommend going to King Street Deli and enjoying your day downtown Cobourg. All the best to King St. Deli and their staff! Cheers!!!
Awesome hospitality and amazing food. The owner made us feel at home. Definitely recommend!
Very tasty food & some great cocktails. It would be nice to see a bigger local beer selection on the menu.
Lovely little place with very friendly staff. We popped in for lunch Sunday afternoon while strolling around the town. Delicious, they didnt scrimp on meat or side dishes and the hot english mustard is true to its name. Well worth a visit.
Had a great experience at the grand opening on Saturday with 4 other friends. We ordered a few meals and some craft beer and cocktails, food was delicious. The owner took the time to come over to greet us and we watched the ribbon cutting ceremony with the mayor or Cobourg. Definitely a beautiful spot to relax on the patio and have dessert next door at the Rustic Bean, same owners
Spectacular food options (vegetarian), wonderful wine selections and an outstanding staff. There is seating indoors and out front on the patio, with convenient parking nearby. The price is perfect for how much food youre provided with! Go with an appetite and leave smiling.
Pre-pandemic I visited King St. K & B once and had their delicious pretentious poutine. I dream about this meal and am determined to have it as soon as it is offered again. Very cozy, comfortable atmosphere, a bright spot in downtown Cobourg. Since the pandemic I have been trying different meals each week and have yet to be disappointed. Fresh produce, a talented chef, a warm welcome and pleasant staff combine to make an enjoyable experience. Delicious sounding cocktails and a good selection of beer are also on offer which I will definitely be trying....post-pandemic.
Fairly new restaurant. We have only been once. We really liked both the food and the vibe.
I had the salmon BLT and it was amazing! Going back this weekend for another!
Stopped in here by chance on a visit through Cobourg, and were glad we did! The food was excellent. My Cubano sandwich was delicious, and my girlfriends chicken gyro was really good too. She also said the curry carrot soup she had was quite possibly the best soup shes ever had...Great selection of beers, which had it been later than lunchtime I would have gladly made my way through! All in all a great local and independently run spot for our lunch.
We had dinner there last Saturday and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. In fact my brother and I had to ask out server to take our empty plates away before we started to lick them clean.
Great food and friendly reception. The soup was AMAZING!. Thanks
Great food excellent service made for a great first date!!!
Fresh food made on the spot! Unique drinks and delicious food. Will be back!
Good food at a reasonable price but slow servicewhen you order food. Bin here twice and food service was slow both times
An incredible team of people creating incredible food experiences to satisfy my incredible hunger!
Had a few drinks on the patio. The server was chill, and the drinks were strong. Perfect Sunday!
Not sure what kind of vendetta that Nick guy has, but KSD has a great selection of quality craft beers, a great cocktail menu, a nice bar line up, as well as refreshing non alcoholic offerings. The intimate daytime and evening menus offer many high quality items, many locally sourced.King St Deli & Bar, along wiyh its owner and staff have been well received into the Cobourg downtown alongside its sister location, The Rustic Bean Coffee Co. Its beautiful patio is a great spot to enjoy lunch, dinner and drinks. And the fact it is open 7 days a week is a huge bonus to both locals and tourists. One mans curious verbal attack shouldnt scare you off of visiting this great new spot!
Creative menu options makes for an excellent meal with friendly service
Awesome food and people
Grand opening was fantastic ! The food was amazing, Ill be back for sure
Amazing food, friendly staff and the Dirty Palmer is to die for!
I lovvvvve what I consider to be this addition to the Rustic Bean (my fave coffee shop in Cobourg followed closely by black cat). I love the staff and the food is always sooooo fresh and delicious. Ive lived in Cobourg since I was a teen (thats a long time. Im not going to say how long, but its long, okay?) and Im SO HAPPY such a great little place has been added to the downtown strip. #hearteyes
Excellent sandwich and a great selection of craft beer.
Always great!
Very tasty!
Service was super - all the way from server coming out as we were contemplating menu outside - to friendly composure throughout out stay. Food was good, not great. I had Brie and ham on panini, Lyndsey had salad with chicken added. All good but the chicken which was unseasoned and cold from fridge. Decent value and pleasant meal on Cobourgs main street.
The food and service was amazing! The Ham & Brie Panini is to die for, with a surprise of apple pie like filling to really pack it full of amazing flavour. And the Caesar was perfection! The toppings were just the start of it 😊❤️ so going back to try everything else on their menu!Thank you to the amazing staff! You made our visit that much better
