Was there for the first time and bought some records and cassettes. Couldnt figure out why my bill was so high so I looked ad the receipt and found they charged me $15.00 for a used cassette. On the front of the cassette it said $1.00 and thats what I saw. On the back it said $14.99. Even though it was there mistake they refused to give me a cash refund. I said it says a $1.00 and that is what I expect to get charged or half price. They refused and gave me a refund ticket to be used in there store even though they admitted it was there mistake and said the same thing happened a couple of days ago. If you go there which I will never do again. Look at the front and back of what ever you are buying to protect yourself.

Friendly, helpful, cool store. I wish I could give an extra star for the great responses to BS reviews. If youre looking for a good chuckle, sort reviews by lowest. Most people learn the alphabet by age 5, the system isnt particularly difficult.

I went to this place today and the second I walked in, I felt like a fat kid in a candy shop. They have everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. And for good prices too.

Well, decent store but very little new vinyl, and I agree with the reviews that it’s over alphabetical in its layout. The quality and pricing is also spotty. The bulk of the volume of used vinyl is basically of the garage sale or antique store variety. How many copies of Pablo Cruz or Herb Alpert do you need to carry?I did find all 4 Kiss Solo records..2 were in good condition, the other 2 were really rough. Priced at $20 each. No budging on the 2 that were barely playable. Could just be that the girl at the counter had no authority to negotiate, but I walked..so lost business on their end. Not much reason to go back in.

The retail clerk was not helpful and also acted like he didnt care if we were there or not. We were there on Saturday October 9, 21. Early noonish. Very disappointed.

This place has some good stuff but its not line it was when I lived in Lacrosse when they had the upstairs headship and the kinky clothes shop too but if your looking for comics n stuff it would be awsome

Come here to shop for broad topics, not specific items. The really good sh1+ gets bought up quick, so make return visits. Need something, ask the Clerk... youll work it out.

They just dont have much for new vinyl and the old vinyl they do have basically was alphabetical.Not many artists identified so it made it difficult to search. Ive been to many record stores and this one has been my least favorite to search so far.

A great place for pretty much anything pop culture. Tons of vinyl, comics, collectibles, and vintage/rare video games. Something there for everyone. Of course, if they don’t have something you want, it can be special ordered. I will definitely be visiting Deaf Ear in the future.

All of the vinyl is painstakingly sorted in alphabetical order so its easy to find what youre looking for.

Love going to this place. I always find something new. Large selection of new and used records and CDs, and vinyl I havent seen anywhere else. Make sure to look up for the top shelf records. Nice rare titles. Never been disappointed when I visit. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Worth visiting if youre new in town. Worth going weekly to see what has come in if you live in town.

Very easy to deal with

There was a time when I would have given deaf ear records a 5-star rating as this was the first record store I ever encountered when I came to Lacrosse to see my first concert which was the Jesus Lizard at the warehouse I got the lacrosse too early and needed somewhere to chill and deaf ear was awesome. They introduced me to maximum rock and roll punk rock Underground Music in general and I absolutely loved the people that work there. Well how the mighty have fallen, these days deaf ear seems to be run by preppy people who had best barely know about the music that theyre selling cant organize a store and I have to get home early to their mommy is because this store used to stay open till 10:11 at night and now I see closes at 7 p.m.? Go to the Lord what happened deaf ear youre going to go under soon I can tell and it breaks my heart. Because you are one of the things that I absolutely loved about lacrosse and like a lot of other things about lacrosse that I used to love you are fading fast time to find somewhere else to live. Piece

Impressed with the selection. A week after Record Store Day and I found some gems that were sold out in Madison. Staff actually brought the price down on a video game my son wanted. In my best Arnold, Ill be back!

I went to the counter with a 7 inch vinyl, which costs a dollar. I found out that there was a minimum for cards, and I didnt have cash. I dont recall her name, but the girl behind the counter offered to pay for it (out of her own wallet)Whatever your name is, thank you so much!! Its one of the kindest thing anyone has done for me and I genuinely appreciate it so much. Would absolutely recommend this place, lots of cool music and comics.

Love this record shop. There are numerous places online to buy vinyl...but anybody who is a real collector knows that there is nothing like being a regular at a friendly and reasonable local shop. Deaf Ear is the last in dying breed of music shops. One of the best parts of my week is popping by on the weekend to see what new inventory they got in.

Great selection of new and used music. Fun environment that offers comics, art, trading cards and much more. It is also located in a great part of town close to pubs and places to grab a bite to eat.

This store is a fun and unique place to shop you can buy records, movies, ect. And Deaf Ear will search and specail order items . i highly recommend this place.. Only drawback is this place is located in Downtown LaCrosse where finding a parking space is a challenge.

A lot of miscellaneous stuff. Records, vinyls, action figures, comics, I mean its a pretty big nerd shop, really. Its seen better days though with the creaking and whatnot.

I mainly go for the comic book sale. Everyone there is really friendly and knowledgable though. Big place with lots of merchandise.

This shop almost has its hands in too many pots. They sell a wide variety of items, from the advertised records and CDs to nerd collectables, movies and even smoking supplies.But all that variety comes at a cost. Record selection is abysmal, with hardly any representation for niche genres or new releases. The CDs are mostly used. Fairly priced but again, selection is iffy.I see a lot of potential here and know theyve been in business for a good while, But for someone who likes the wholly encompassing record store experience I would look elsewhere.Edit: star taken away because of business owners habit of giving snide replies to less than stellar reviews. Keeping the original review up, but if thats how they take criticism its no wonder the place is lackluster.

Good selection of comics, games, toys, and collectibles. The body jewelry selection seemed to be of below average quality, and I would go elsewhere for that. Many of the plugs seemed to be mislabeled and some pairs were of different sizes.

Deaf ear is fun to visit but they usually dont have the best selection of used records. not to mention that they low ball soo bad when buying used records from you.

Good place for new and old Comics, Vinyl’s, CD’s, DVD’s, Figures, and other collectables! Friendly and helpful staff as well! Would recommend dropping by! Although one thing to note is there’s a bit of a funky smell in there. But other than that it’s a pretty cool place!

This is an awesome place for the most electic albums and cds. If they dont have it, they will try to order for you. A class establishment.

Wonderful store with lots of collectibles, comics, vintage toys, hair dye, sticker in a lovely location in downtown La Crosse. Its one of the best shops in town in my opinion and only a small walk from the Mississippi. Smoke shop is upstairs away from the bustle of the rest of the store and has a really great selection of pipes and ejuice.

Great mom and pop local business in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Tons of records. Can special order music and CDs. The photos of legends like Kiss playing in local La Crosse venues is a nice touch. The history here is really cool. Definitely worth popping in to experience a downtown staple thats been around for 40 years.

One of my favorite places in La Crosse! I never have a list walking in, but Ive almost never walked out with my hands empty.
