Ive been going to this particular location for years! George, the manager, is incredible! However, for the first time in 3 years, I went on 8/13/21... and the two young ladies working didnt greet me, nor did they seem to thrilled that I came. They were unprofessional and it showed in the food I received. I will STILL support this location, I was just surprised at the lackluster customer service from these two young ladies! I ordered baked beans... and got baked bean soup!!! Not good!

Absolutely amazing! I’ve been doing HBH since I was a kid thanks mom. However, never tried the sandwich’s until today and man! What a delicious sandwich and the extras also made it a complete hit and I did not break the bank in doing so. I’m pleased as ever and will definitely return. Don’t mind how the sandwich looks it was wrapped with care (COVID care) it’s Hawaii bread also so you know how soft that bread is.

Full disclosure: I used to work at a Honeybaked Hams location in another part of the country in my younger years.The ham I purchased and received for Christmas day was unsatisfactory. This is a direct reflection of the quality control and management of the kitchen. It should have never been sold in this condition. Having worked for the company in the past I know the location in LA Mesa where this ham was prepared and sold is accountable and not a direct reflection of the company as a whole. I will not be purchasing anything from the La Mesa branch of Honeybaked Hams in the future.

Give this place more business! Excellent food and meal options at an unbeatable price. Very hearty and delicious! This has always been one of my top spots to grab lunch!

Big fat ham sandwich combo! The champagne mustard on the sandwich was YUM! The lettuce on the sandwich was cold and crisp. Very good! The beans had more ham than beans.

Of course you would expect it to be extremely busy this time of year December 22nd but I got there early actually got to park in their parking lot and I was out of there within 10 minutes customer service was good. The employees all cheerful, hopefully as the day goes on they will keep that up.

Hard to see the sign from the street, but its the entrance before jack in the box. Parking is adequate, holiday season isnt bad for parking.

The La Mesa location is HORRIBLE!! Don’t waste your time ordering from there. Called to place an order and was told that I can’t place an order for future pickup?! Isn’t that the point? Was super disappointed as we wanted to surprise my grandpa for his bday with his favorite food and dessert from here.Unfortunately the customer service has gone down here.I haven’t called any other locations but I think we’re done with the Honey Baked Ham store...

The service at the La Mesa store was very good - I give a 5 for service. It looked like a long line, but they really treated everyone well and got that line down quickly. The meat is very tasty. However, from ham that cost basically $63 I got enough for one and a half slices of ham per person. I have plenty for soup (2.8 lbs), I have plenty for sandwiches (2.2 lbs), I can feed the wild animals (.8 lbs) but after taking the fat off (which meant a lot of the crispy brown sugar went away from much of the slices) I was left with a paltry amount of table worthy ham - and that, by the way, is putting nice slices and small 2x3 slices as considered fine to serve. This was my first Honey Baked Ham and perhaps my expectations were too high, but its back to Costco for me next time. Oh, did I say it took almost an hour to cut everything up and get the good ham ready for tomorrow. Somehow I thought I just heated and served. Thank goodness I opened it and looked!!! What a mess I would have had.

They are so good about handling the holiday rush. There was a lady directing people to which register to go to and a nice guy handing out samples to people waiting in line. That line moved quickly too. Quality is always the best and consistent. It would be nice if there was more parking. I noticed several cars parked in the bike lane. Yikes!

Ordered a prime rib meal and side ham. Tasty meal proteins, sides included cream corn, cornbread stuffing, cranberry salad. Stuffing needs to be reheated in an oven for best results. Cranberry salad not the best choice for our taste. Creamed corn was a bit better choice. Not super impressed with meal, but ham was fantastic as always.

Best taste ham ever made.

Of course the ham is good but the glaze top stayed hard and didnt go into the ham. Plus the 2 Hispanic employees that were there at 2pm Thurs Oct 17 were racist (and laughed) while I waited almost 10 mins until other customers came in before they would take my order.

We will eat that ham on Thanksgiving. But we have always had honey baked hams.

I have been buying Honey Baked hams for the past 20 or so years, and always loved them until this year. Normally, there is a thick glaze and the ham is super tasty. NOT THIS YEAR!! I was really disappointed and will probably never spend the extra money again!! It appears the product has been cheapened as the glaze was thin and the ham tasted “gamey” like a pig. Instead of yummy, I say yucky!!!

The best ham I’ve ever had and I’m not a ham eater, I bought for a festive family dinner. I went to pick it up in la mesa, no waiting in line even the day before the holiday! However the staff had no idea where my pre-order was, and were all unorganized trying to fill everyone’s orders and it all showed in their attitudes, I will return for all my ham and side dish needs

The only reason for low score is that i didnt think about getting a ham until the day before Thanksgiving at shortly before closing time and i wonder why the Hams were all gone. But i wasnt alone the store was quite full of people in the same situation.

Ham was good not better than the Costco spiral ham they sell. Turkey breast was disgusting, sweet, wet, lunchmeat type texture. Sides were a waste of time and money. We ordered 3 sides and dumped them all in the trash. The creamed corn and cheesy potatoes were rancid and spoiled 4 days in the refrigerator. We spent $80.00 for a nice Thanksgiving meal. Im not asking for a refund or gift card, this place is a rip off.

They were fast considering it was Christmas Eve, the line looked long but I was in and out in 5 maybe 10 minutes. We got an 8lb ham for $70-ish and I guess my expectations were high for a honey baked ham, everyone speaks so highly of them but I was expecting the glaze to be more inside the ham than it was and for it to be less fatty. Honestly it made dinner easier, being pre cut and everything but I dont think Ill buy one again.

Had an amazing lunch combo. Must try.
