So long story short my alternator went out again 3rd time now. After dropping car off i was told 1400$ total, of course theres always something else in this case valve gasket replacement done also. It’s very disappointing to be charge for same job they done 2 years ago plus the removing of ac components is a charge as well. You would think having lifetime warranty on part n them also doing the job prior. Itll be a lot less WTH!!!

Whatever time they say on how long it will take. Add an hour and some to it. This place takes its time. If it takes longer than expected why wouldn’t they just let you know? The least they can do is be transparent about how long things take.

I LOVE this place! Second time coming in for an oil change. Everyone is so professional and courteous! The worker at the front Pep Boys is really friendly! he was very nice & informative! Would recommend this place to anyone looking to get a good, professional, quick oil change!

If you need an oil change done quicker than 2 HOURS DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I was told that at 830am 1 hour would be my wait time, which seemed on the longer end but I was okay with that. Dropped my car off got some coffee and waited and waited and waited. 945am I walked back to see what was taking so long. They said it would be done in a few minutes. 45 mins later after their mechanic was dinking around I got my car. SLOWEST. SERVICE. EVER!! I dont understand how theyre in business if they can only so one oil change per 2 hrs. First time here and will NEVER GO AGAIN!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOBODY EVER GO HERE!!!! prices were also absurd for synthetic oil.... charged me $82, after getting a %20 discount because they took so long. Ive never payed above $60 for a synthetic oil change. Freaking rip off place with the slowest mechanics around.

Went for battery replacement. Fast installation and friendly service. Salesperson upsold me but it was a very good recommendation.Only gripe I have is that the waiting area was moved to a makeshift area inside the store. Not a big deal.

I spent nearly 2 1/2 hours waiting and ended up being late to an important meeting just getting a simple oil change when there was only one person ahead of me. They had my car lifted up for an hour as the only car in the shop and nobody was working on it. They also charged $103 for just the oil change when I had it changed at another place for $55 only a few months ago. I will NEVER be back here, and I DO NOT recommend it.

I seldomly write reviews--let alone negative ones-- but I really dont appreciate being lied to (especially to my face.) TLDR; I was informed by both the store and repair associates that the process of TESTING the car battery (which was under warranty...I had the paperwork on hand) would take 45 minutes. Additionally they stated that they couldnt do anything with my car unless I made an appointment for Saturday...which isnt ideal because my mother needs the car for work. Had I been told straight up that they didnt have enough technicians...or they just couldnt help me right now because of COVID-19, Id understand and we wouldnt have a problem.If there was a silver lining, the associates were correct...the process did, in fact, take about 45 minutes. It took me 45 minutes to jump-start my car, drive to another Pep Boys, have another technician test the battery, extend the warranty in-store, replace the battery and, finally, drive home (just in time for dinner).

Made appointment for a simple, 15 minute car inspection, 45 minutes later and Im still waiting. This isnt the first time this has happened too. I stopped doing business here as appointments mean nothing here really, its rare when theyre not backed up.Good work, nice people, horrible timelessness in the auto service department. Youve been warned.

I have had great service in the past. Went in today and they service manager acted like he could not be bothered. He waved me to a seat then finished with another customer. Then he said they were so busy that it would take four hours to even look at the car. Every bay except one was empty. Then proceeded to futher discourage me from leaving my car he described the manufactures gaurentee from my past visit. He won. I went somewhere down the road. Sucks because I really liked my past experience.

I just wanted to say thanks to micheal. He took the time to get me in and then the tire machine broke. Totally not his fault since it was a busy day today. He tried helping me out as much as possible. And he did. I had to reschedule my tire install but I’m the end he ended up taking care of me.

The customer service here was amazing! I didnt have an appointment but these guys were very friendly, professional and helped me out as quick as possible. They didnt just brush me off either, they kept me informed on the progress of my car. I had to wait a few hours (informed me right away) but that was because I didnt have an appointment so there were others before me I understand. The waiting room kind of got a little warm because the blinds were not about to fully block out the sun, if you can replace those blinds to cover the whole window that would make my wait an even better one.

Terrible service. I called to ask if I could have my rotors cut right now and he said yes. I got there 5 mins later and he said it would be a couple of hours. He argued with me about it and was very rude. His name was Kevin in the repair shop area. I could see if I was having a service done on my car but I had the rotors off and ready in my hands. Plus he said he could do them at that moment 5 mins ago. Be ready to have false information given to you just to get you in the door.

Im am basing the negative review more solely on the “assistant manager “. Kevin at store located :Pep Boys Auto Parts & Service14207 Rosecrans AveLa Mirada acáI had all new tires with the alignment done on my car. Today as I drove to work the car rears to the right. I contact the stores tire dept and Kevin answered so I proceed to explain my issue, he then asks for my basic info and I give it... then he says I was not in the system, we go thru it 3 times, at this point there’s a long awkward silence ... so I asked what I shall do, he gives me an option to come in or recheck my location of service . It’s bad enough the young man has NO PHONE ETIQUETTE!! His yes were “yeah,” excuse me were “what you say”. then every time I interject his voice were decimals higher.So I recheck my receipt and call the same store again. Kevin answers and once again I give him the info and we do this 3 more times, at this point I’m getting a bit flustered, so I ask that I speak with some one else, he states there’s no manager and he’s the only one in the store(?). Mind you through the conversation Erik is adamantly proving that it’s my fault for giving a wrong number ( um, customers don’t enter data Into systems). I can understand if I missed a digit, but the number that was under my name was an entire different area code with number ! He proceeds to try to point out his concerns with my call ( wth?, I didn’t ask for a therapy session) so I asked him to please give me the number to Corporate office then he tells me to look it up online!! And hung up on me, I called again he picked up and left phone I guess on desk and just ignored it. I was finally able to get to another dept was assisted by a totally expert associate who obtained corporate number and yeah, why Erick is even employed to work with general public is beyond me! It really left a bad taste in my pallet, would I go there again NO because when I initially took the car in they were training a new employee so I’m thinking it was probably an oversight of the “TRAINER” who did not go over the work of the new hire and with that being said that store is in the need of a solid manager who knows how to treat general public, knows the ramifications of not proceeding any type of interaction with high ethical standards that we expected from all associates. Geez I haven’t even put pen to paper for my real complaint which were my tires!!

Great parts counter service!! I dont remember the guys name but I needed an electrical part for my 2000 Chevy p/u truck so they had to order it but I needed it now so I could rent a trailer. The guy at the counter was looking at the brake switch I wanted to replace and he said he could try and fix it. I was all for that and sure enough he fixed it and no charge!! He saved the day and my weekend too! Awesome service!!

Only reason i did not give it a 5 stars is they took too long for an oil change, front breaks change and car tires rotation. I left car at 11am the guy didnt finish till 4:10pm.. Mind you they told me it would only take 2hrs to 2hrs 30min. Either they are short staff or need to be more prompt. (Usually its quick). Now The customer service is lovely, They are super friendly and informative. Good spot to take your car for any maintenance. Make an appointment instead of just walking in if not ull be there all day.

I took my car for alternator replacement May 21 2019 to your La Habra shop 125  W Imperial Hwy. That was after family mechanic friend did the same job prior to taking it to pepboy shop everything work including AC problem was faulty alternator . I ended up with a faulty alternator the service manager was going to give me discount on repair being I got faulty alternator and already paid once for same job. After picking up car I noticed first that my engine cover is missing, and after driving back from work is when I noticed my AC not working. I went back to La Habra shop to complain was told service manager not there anymore and that they will take my info n he will reach out to me. Up on till now have not heard from them. Now I took my car June 12 2019 to other pep boy shop 14207 rosecrans La Mirada they are informing me that my AC is not working because of the job they did at La Habra Shop and I have to pay for the diagnostic. I’m really upset/mad hoping I can get concrete help

I wouldnt give them one star, if i could. The mark up for shop repairs outrageous! I took my PT Cruiser Turbo in because i had a leak. The tech Johnny seemed real knowledgeable at first. What i thought would be a minor repair was a far cry from what was recommended. Yes, Johnny was right in that i needed to replace strut mounts and a lower motor mount that cost $575 for labor and totalled just under a thousand dollars. But he demanded i replace my fuel pump and timing belt (which i had replaced just under 13,000 miles prior, no overheating or whining coming from the belt) in order for him to then replace lower compression hoses. Just to replace the hoses they wanted another $1700.00. I declined the hose replacement, after sending them proof i had the timing belt and water pump replaced.Im new to the area and did some research online and found a reputable mechanic that would come to me. He stated there was nothing wrong with my compression hoses nor my water pump or timing belt. He indicated all i needed was to replace the intake hoses as that was the problem. He (Micheal, the online mechanic) was through and my car is running fantastic for only $239.00. I saved thousands of dollars by getting a second open. Micheal the mechanic explained he has no overhead and this resulted in cost effective savings for his customers. I would have been charged nearly $5000.00 with Pep Boys and Micheal told me he could have completed all the work for less than $600.00. My advise, go elsewhere. This was not at tge Roscrans location. It was at the other one off of LaMirada.

Horrible wait times for oil changes. Scheduling an appointments is completely meaningless. Had an appointment at 3. They didnt even start working on my car until 4. Sat there and waited because what should have been 15 to 30 mins ended up being over 2 hours. ( no additional services were required). This place is severely understaffed in mechanics to get a oil change done quick for you. I see like 1 guy working on 4 cars. They do provided good feedback however on your vehical and if there are any additional services required. If u come here get a ride or rental.

Waiting 4 hours for an oil change, let me say again 4 hrs. This is frustrating, i was told i would be in and out in 1 1/2 hours folks. No good, no good. Dont think i will be back, my time is valuable to me and im sure others can due the same in better time frame.

When I called, the service manager that answered the phone was rude. When I got there I was getting an oil change, then I was talking to him about my tires. When I told him do not do my tires and brakes he was even ruder ( He realized he wasnt going to make $500 off a me for nothing) told me he was going to charge me For all Floods that he needed to top off in my car.I do need to say that the manager of the store apologize he was very very friendly!!!!
