Countertops subcontracted through Home Depot, who was given a 1 star review. Buyer beware.Almost 5 month wait aside (ordered mid December/installed mid May*), company had very poor costumer service. (Calls not returned, voicemail inbox at capacity unable to take messages) The end result of countertop installation was also disappointing, due to poor measurements (required corner trim be cut to accommodate countertop), countertop restrictions (unknown at time of purchase) leaving my bar overhang an unusable 4 in depth, and missing or mismatched backsplashing.*Lengthy delay may, to some degree, be excused by COVID complications on shipping/manufacturing, but all other issues fall at Design Works feet.
Design works was contracted via home depot to complete my countertops. When I called to schedule the installation, the owner told me he had nobody to do the work in the Memphis area and that he would call me right back with a resolution. He never did. Use this company at your own risk.
Brent and the team do an amazing job. My wife has referred them to several people in our neighborhood and have heard no complaints. We will use them next time around and continue to spread the word.
I would give this company -5 stars if it was possible. Long story short I got jerked around by these clowns for months ( I had to call them a total of 4 times during that time) and every time I was given a different excuse. Not once did anyone ever call me to update me... nor apologize for such inconvenience. Once the install was done I noticed the island in the kitchen was incorrect from what was asked when they came out to do measurements. Of course this company nor Home Depot seems to care since I’ve yet to get a call back.... Thank god credit card companies care more about their customers than businesses. This company needs so much organization it’s not even funny
Great customer service. Got my countertop ordered😉
If I could give them zero stars, I would. My husband and I ordered counter tops to be installed in Memphis on May 25. They came out to measure after nearly 4 weeks/ did not return phone calls and canceled twice. They said they were ready for install the 3rd week of July but we were out of town that week and scheduled them to come the following week. They were no show- no call- we tracked them down after that and they said they had to come back and remeasure- I’m not sure how that happened since they were a go on install in July. Eventually after two more no shows and excuses and after we had Home Depot call them, they came back and re-measured, this time it was in Early Sept. They told us they had the material and they wanted to make sure they had the correct measurements before cutting. They scheduled our install for today- Sept 13th. We had to take down our own back splash prior to install which we did last weekend after being assured they would be here today. We did not want a torn up back splash any longer than necessary. They Called yesterday to tell us they could not make it today and they would call us this morning to explain. They did not call. After calling them back they told us the material is on back order...needless to say we fired them. We had several thousand dollars tied up for nearly 3 months with them and they lied. We tried to be patient and I avoided writing a negative review hoping it would all work out. I would never recommend this company.
I ordered counter tops through Home Depot and they countracted Design Works for the install.First off, there was an issue Home Depot caused and design works worked with me on scheduling in a time frame that worked and was extremely flexible. That made me thing some great things. We were cutting down an wall and doing a single height counter top that extended quite a bit and when they came out to do the measurements our wall was slightly unleveled and were adviced to fix it so they could do the install. I had a contractor come out and fix the wall and level it to their request. When I went into their office to drop off our sink I showed pictures to get their approval. A gentleman looked at the pictures and said it was great and that was what was needed. 3 weeks later they came to do the install and I was told the tops weren’t level and they wouldn’t be able to install. Needless to say I wasn’t happy. I understood it had to be fixed but was irate that I received confirmation from an employee that all was good. If I hadn’t been told that then I could’ve gotten it corrected before the install was scheduled. They did install 1 section of the countertops and came back 2 days later to install it all. The counter tops look great and we are pleased with that portion. That evening after my wife got home we realized that they did not seal the tops to the wall and they can almost be pulled off the wall. I contacted them and they said they would come back out and fix it. It’s now been over a week and I haven’t heard back from them.Summary: product is good, customer service is ok (I did appreciate them working their schedule to fit me in), organization is terrible. I learned beware of going through Home Depot and I would go to any other counter top place besides them in the middle Tennessee area.
This place is awesome! Wonderful work done here
