Great service and a lovely military owned establishment! I love that they use loose leaf tea rather than tea bags. This has just become my new study and art viewing/buying location. It has a great atmosphere and nice selection of paintings for sale from local artists. Shoutout to Adam for always nailing my tea requests!Update: The coffee is delicious as well! They put care into the drinks and quality over speed. It really adds to the feel of the shop overall. I feel comfortable and never feel rushed. The baristas are happy to bring your drink to your table if you are staying in the shop and food items are served on washable china! Hooray for sustainability!I rarely write such glowing reviews but it is clear that a great deal of love, care, and creativity have gone into the creating this business. It feels like an actual cafe, not just a speedy get your drink and go type of place. We need more places like Hard Bean.
Veteran owned coffee shop. We went to plan an event here.1st hour is free.If you stay longer they require a purchase of an airpod to be served at the event (about $13.95)Owner is very friendly. Serving staff is considerate. When the price of the item appeared too high (by their own words) they didnt charge the higher price and figured out a lower price. Thats something most servers would not have bothers with, but these ones care more for their clients.I tried the lavender vanilla latte. My gfs ordered a number of other items. Everything was good.5 stars because of their staff.Side note: they use monin syrup
It’s hard to be honest in small business situations because I want them so badly to succeed. Hard Bean is a lovely establishment however it does fall flat in a couple areas. I’ve been there 5/6 times now and the actual customer service has been hit or miss. There’s a long haired young lady that is absolutely wonderful and there was a gentleman who was a little lacking in both service and speed. It took almost ten minutes to get the coffee with him and it was sub par. The young lady however was extremely helpful in choosing a new beverage speedy in making it and a complete sweetheart during the entire interaction. The atmosphere is nice. It’s a calm place to be and is clean. The menu isn’t very large and that’s ok because it is a coffee house but I have seen hair on some of the food in the display. Before the hair incident the food I did have was tasty.
Love this spot! Friendly service, great coffee, and plenty of space to sit and relax (with rooms to reserve for groups in back). The fact that this is a veteran-owned business just makes it that much more awesome. I always enjoy stopping in for my favorite Jazzy Java in the morning!
Not a large food menu, but it is a coffee house so it is a good selection for that. The food was really good (chicken salad sandwich toasted and smoothie) service was great and the place is clean and roomier than you would see other places. Even have 2 private rooms if you want to have a small meeting or gathering.
I have been a loyal hard bean customer since they opened. I even worked here part time during the transition between my full time jobs. Mike and his team really care about their staff, their craft, and the community. I hope this place is around for many years to come. They are constantly growing and are more than open to feedback to better accommodate customer needs. I only wished they were open later since I work late now! Thank you for being an amazing coffee shop!
Absolutely love their iced cappuccino and they have tons of different flavors. Their espresso is the best Ive ever had, even just a shot. Also love that theyre veteran owned and offer military discount. Place is cozy and good for working/studying too.
I just had my first experience at Hard Bean in LaVista and this won’t be my last time. I walked in and was automatically greeted with a friendly face. I had told the barista that I’ve never been there before and she told me about sizes, flavors, roasts, blends, and everything in between so I was comfortable with making a selection. Once I couldn’t decided which flavor of syrup to put in my Cold Brew, she suggested a popular blend and I loved her suggestion! She even helped me with a roast for my husband with describing what he likes. I love that you can rent out the space and the little conference rooms. Definitely a place I’ll be visiting again!
The other day, a friend asked me if I wanted coffee, picked me up, and said, Wheres your spot? My answer came without hesitation: Hard Bean. I love having a locally owned coffee shop in La Vista. Great selection of brewed coffees and baked good, even delicious sandwiches too. My favorite thing is I can get a coffee (with one free refill) plus a pastry—Brown Sugar Cinnamon Muffins are the best—for less than $5. You cant even get some drinks for less than $5 at chain coffee shops.I do wish this place was open later at night sometimes, but honestly, that doesnt deter me from trying to come here at least once a week.
Amazing little coffee shop. They have a good selection of both coffee and tea. The macaroons are delicious, as well as the cupcakes! I have been here a few times now and the staff is amazing. They give both military and teachers discounts and the frappes are not filled with a bunch of sugar! Highly recommend.
Love this cozy little place! The baristas are wonderful and are always willing to offer advice about the tasty treats that are available. This is a great place to meet friends for coffee and catching up.
Good coffee but the interior needs some love. They have limited comfortable seating. Most chairs are metal and not comfy, paired with overly small tables. The front is cozy, but the majority of the seating area is cold, metal and sterile feeling - not good for a coffee shop. Also, please explore different music choices. I wanted to sip coffee and read, and having top 10 pop music playing loudly is not conducive to that. I hear pop music on every loud speaker in every store I visit - some relief from that would make your location stand out.
They make a really good smoothie and they have unique blends of coffee which is hard to find in coffee shops. Mike the owner is an outstanding hard working individual which trickles down to his employees as well. They have a good amount of seating for a relaxing environment. Highly recommend especially if your looking to support local businesses and veterans
I enjoy good coffee and really wanted to love this place. Customer service was awesome but espresso drink was very weak. The barista even added an extra shot to each of our coffees when I let her know they were too weak. First few sips were better, but after leaving decided I just couldn’t drink it. Probably won’t plan a second trip or if I do I will try something other than espresso drinks.
Both baristas were very warm and friendly. They took the time to explain the different teas and coffees. I chose the Jamaican Blue blend. It was smooth and balanced. My kids enjoyed their muffins, cheese danish and hot cocoa.
Such a lovely place with beautiful art and good coffee! Sit and visit with friends, do some work, have a Bible study or just eat some pastries. Its a great inviting place!
This place was great! A little less expensive than Scooters or Starbucks, AND they seem to appreciate going above and beyond. This had me questioning the quality and quantity of ingredients at both large competitors, because I could actually taste the chocolate and coffee in my drink from Hard Bean, and the contrast with my usual from Scooters was obvious. Give it a shot. It was REALLY good. Ill definitely be going back. Anyone want a Scooters card with like...15 bucks left on it? No way will I bother with it when a place like this is open.
I love this place. Sadly today when I went to get my order (always get the Red Bull infusion with white peach and raspberry) the lady had told me that they don’t have raspberry. That they have a mixed berry. I told her that I will take that. When I noticed she was making it different then I normally order. She then proceeded to make it a smoothie. Wasn’t sure if it was someone else’s. After she finished she had said she made the wrong drink. I told her it was fine, and that I will try it and to not worry about throwing it away. (I didn’t want her to waist product) she then charged me for the drink that was $2 more then the drink I asked for. I didn’t say anything and paid for it. I then went to my sons appointment (we went to the base one) I then started drinking it and realized after a few sips I didn’t like it. I went back to see if I could get my drink I asked for. And she was gone. I waited for a few minutes and she never came back. I was out my drink and the $7. I have been disappointed the past 4 times I have went to the clinic location. Might need to drive the little extra and go to Lavista location for awhile
Jamaican Blue medium roast is fantastic! I wanted to sure in the big comfortable lounge chairs but there wasnt an outlet for my computer (that I should have charged before I arrived), so I sat at a bistro table near an outlet. Great light. They have small private gathering rooms (6-8 people). Veteran owned!
Nice selection of coffee styles and pastries, interior is nicely furnished and cozy. Staff is nice. They even have some local artwork for sale. Ill come back!
Terrible coffee. Employees told me I couldnt have what I ordered. They said they dont water down their shots like other coffee places. I dont think my drink even had coffee in it!! Isnt the customer always right? I wont go back. Explains why there were no other customers.
I tried the Forbidden Fruit Smoothie and my partner had the Kona Mocha Frappe. Both drinks were delicious. We also tried the lemon bars which we loved. The establishment was clean and well decorated. The cashier/barista was helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back.
Great place, super friendly staff. There are meeting rooms in the back that you can use if you have a crowd or a meeting. Coffee was great, they have all your basics and some small food options. Will go back.
You are greeted with a smile upon arrival as well as your departure (rare nowadays). The baristas are very friendly and very informative. The coffee is great and made with a lot of love! If you are unsure of which coffee to purchase, the baristas are more than happy to provide a sample. The cafe interior is modern and very well lit with natural lighting. Seating isnt at all an issue, and the area is very well maintained! I was able to study without any loud vocal distractions, and felt right at home. I will definitely be coming back to this veteran owned coffee shop!As a side note, try their macaroons which happen to be locally made!
What a wonderful addition to the La Vista area. Mike and his team are super friendly and the coffee is delicious! The shop is very open and relaxed, plus they have two private rooms to reserve for meetings space. Check it out!
Very nice! Croissants were delicious, as was the hot chocolate. I’ll be back!
Coffee every which way. Bagels. Biscotti. Food. Spacious dining area. Two large meeting rooms for 8-10 people. Friendly staff. All new building. No drive-through but spacious parking.
Very friendly barista greeted us and quickly had our drinks ready! Several tables and chairs to sit at, or relax in the couches. They have a punch-per-visit card with double punches every Tuesday.
Very helpful staff handled my cold brew special-request well, much better then Starbucks does. Best cold brewed coffee Ive had at a retail place. They also have a few small meeting rooms available
Ordered the vanilla iced latte and tasted very watered down. Still looking for my go to coffee joint in Omaha . Scooter is best so far but not perfect. I would do 1 star here but lady was nice and place was clean and cozy.
We love Hard Bean in LaVista! We stop by every Wednesday afternoon. The coffee and hot chocolates are great plus the service is quick and very friendly. Keep up the great work.
Great coffee and awesome staff. Coffee is full of flavor just as it should be. Their Frappes are made with ice cream instead of ice... Just delicious!
This place is just adorable. A fantastic selection of black coffees as well as loose leaf tea and specialty drinks! A wonderful location to get together with friends or family!
Interesting yummy flavors of coffee drinks. Plus they got chicken salad sandwhiches
This is my favorite place for a morning hangout! Chill and great coffee!! The coffee is extremely flavorful and there’s always something new to discover!
This is a great veteran-owned coffee shop. Coffee is really flavorful. The pastries vary from day to day as they are helping other businesses share their product at Hard Bean.
Awesome staff that made the experience awesome, too. So kind to my child with food allergies and made sure to be clear on whats in the drinks. Thank you, dining out with food allergies, even just a coffee shop, isnt always fun.
Terrific destination coffee house with great drinks and atmosphere.
Great coffee shop. The staff is very helpful. They have two private meeting rooms.
The best place to go for coffee, smoothies, and pastries- Adam is the best barista, great to talk to, hold a conversation with him about literally anything :)
Friendly staff. I stop here every now and then during my lunch break to treat myself to a hot vanilla latte and a white chocolate kahlua biscotti (try 1...youll love it). Thanks!
Always a treat whether drinking coffee or smoothie or even a matcha frappe! Tasty muffins as well!
Hard Bean has the BEST CHAI TEA LATTE I have ever had. They brew real chai tea and it tastes GREAT!
Love, absolutely love this place. Great coffee, great service.
Amazing experience great blended drinks definitely coming back!
Great coffee. Batista was super nice. Very clean.
Terrific coffee at a reasonable price along with a great atmosphere and staff.
Its a really nice coffee shop! The store has a colorful atmosphere and the staff are very welcoming, knowledgeable and creative. Whether you like coffee or not they have everything for everyone! With their unique flavors for any drink, not just coffee! And their wide selection of local teas, foods and artwork how can you can you not want to come back? Theres two meeting rooms available for people who have a group or need more privacy. Cork boards for local, global and community impacts, along with a spot for you to display your own business cards! I am very impressed to see a veteran owned business flourish so much in its first year and I hope Hard Bean Coffee continues to provide us with such a delicious expierence!Alternative milks and GFV options are also available, along with frappes made with REAL icecream, fruit and vegetable smoothies made with 100% fruit purees, single origin coffee beans from different countries around the world, and an 8 bean espresso that is worth every penny. Hard Bean Coffee is a destination not a drive thru !!
Everyone is so nice and welcoming and it is a wonderful atmosphere to be in. The strawberry banana smoothie is my favorite (and it’s organic)! I’m looking forward to my next visit! 😊
What a great addition to Lavista, great coffee and they bring in local bakers to display and sell their baked goods They also have smoothies. This is a must try spot.
My new favorite coffee place! The staff are all extremely friendly, and I love how creative they get with their frappe flavors.
Came here because website said organic coffee. No stevia sugar free options and drinks tasted like gas station coffee.
Friendly service and great dark roast. The Chiapas is the best dark roast I’ve had in Omaha.
Good coffee. Friendly staff.+ Free refill on brewed coffee.+ Nice selection of pastries.+ Private meeting rooms available.- I wish the café seating was more comfortable (medal chairs).~ Theyve got the space in the café that could accommodate some easy chairs.~ Veteran owned business. May not matter to you, but I like supporting my fellow vets. Will definitely be back.Edit: He has since added some easy chairs in the front café area.
Hard Bean Coffee is a wonderful get away. It is the greatest coffee place in LaVista!
5/5 I was welcomed with a happy smile right when I walked in and customer service was amazing.
