We dont normally write these reviews but this experience was one that continues to fester in me and warrants a review (with photos). Apart from our sales person (will not give out names), this was one of the worst experiences in building my new home. Anything but Top Notch. Claudia was great and helpful. We are happy to have been able to work with her however the times we did meet with her we did get the vibe that she was under a tremendous amount of pressure to sell. You can read specifics about our experience below but the quick version is, their workmanship is horrid, they are unwilling to own up to their mistakes and will charge extra to fix something the did incorrectly, and then they will come to your home and threaten to put liens on your home.I have about 10 years of home building and remodeling experience, so I know how things are installed and know good workmanship. The first issue was with the master vanity top. Due to the size of our vanity we agreed to change the square sinks, to round sinks per their recommendation to gain a little more counter top. Upon arrival and installation, the round sink holes were cut about 3 inches off of the center of our light fixtures and where are mirrors subsequently would hang. (see photos). My suggestion, instead of wasting the slab all together was to recut the top with the square sinks, since the sinks are bigger so it would center the sinks up better with the lights. They did this, and it is still a little off but it was my decision to recut the slab vs cut a new one (I dont like to waste) so we are happy with it. The second problem with the master, is once it was done and installed, despite my willingness to reuse the slab they cut incorrectly, they charged us extra money for the trip fee and reinstallation. The second item and area of concern for me was for the perimeter granite in the kitchen. I found a chip in the granite, where it looked like someone dropped a drill and the bit chipped the stone. The fixed this on their second trip so no big deal. Had there not been a second trip I am hopeful they would have fixed it but I cannot be sure. Also, for the perimeter granite they had to notch out 1/8 of the face frame of my cabinet to get the slab to slide in. The notch was incredibly poorly cut (see photos). They caulked it to try to hide it but it is certainly still visible and I;m left looking for a good way to cover it up.The third area and item of concern is the kitchen island. When installing the kitchen island, I can only assume (I was not present) that the installers laid the slab on the edge of island and then shoved it across the cabinets to put it into place. As a result the outside finish of our cabinet was chipped off. The chip is about 1 inch tall with varying widths of .5 to about 3 inches (see photos). The entire affected area is about 12 inches wide. It tore off the outside ply in a way that it will only continue to chip away in the future. Also when installing the granite slab, they left about an 1/8 gap between between the cabinet top and the bottom of the slab (see photo). If someone were to lean on the slab or sit on the counter top, the slab would have split in half. When they installers came out the second time they agreed the slab would crack and they shoved wood shims in fixing the gap. After I made the manager or owner (will not provide names) aware of these issues, we agreed to meet at my home to discuss them. The conversation was unproductive as the installation methods used and the damages are the industry standard. After getting into a bit of a shouting match and being threatened to have a lien put on the house (this all took place in my home), I was finally able to get a small price break, but not near enough to cover cabinet repairs.Had I not said anything at all, we would have been charged quite a bit extra for their negligence. Very poor experience.

My wife and I decided to upgrade our kitchen this spring. Top Notch Tops & Design not only provided a HUGE assortment of really high quality granite, but the price and service couldn’t have been better! We wanted a natural granite so we chose a beautiful piece of Marinace Brazilian. It turned out so gorgeous! Big thanks to Claudia for helping me find exactly what I wanted. I’m going to use them again to upgrade our rental town home. Thanks to everyone at NS!
