Super friendly, quick service. Just had my transmission repaired, so far so good.
Acadiana Transmission kept my truck for approximately a month. I kept calling to ask whats the status. Their response was the mechanic is Road testing another vehicle and theyll get back with me. Well they never called once to let me know what they were doing or if they were able to fixed the problem. Incomplete,~ I went to get my truck
Thanks for the work you did on red 1998 Volvo s- 70 starter
I can not say how impressed I am in the way I was treated here. I brought my vehicle in because the engine oil light was coming on. A fitting on the oil pump was broken during the repair of my vehicle. The mechanic reported to the owner that he had broken it. The mechanic could have easily said my oil pump needed to be changed, I wouldnt have known any different. The owner, Joe, called me himself to apologize about the delay. Here was another chance to tell me my oil pump was bad and needed to be changed. Joe told me it was broken by his employee, therefore would not cost me a penny more. Ever heard of an honest automobile mechanic? I found one...
Great job they jumped right in it.
I highly recommend this business to anyone thats needs automotive repair, very helpful and courteous.Worth every penny. They just earned a new customer here.
Joe Brown and his team fit me in quickly on a weekend and found a solution to my problem without charging me anything. I highly recommend them.
I brought my Mustang to these guys when my clutch was going out and was having problems with gear changes. TV repairs were done in a very timely manner and compared to roughly the same work getting done on my last car Acadiana Transmission was way cheaper. Great quality great people definitely
Where do I begin, my experience with these people were so exhausting, so I will keep it brief. Upon walking in, the establishment looks professional keeping the theme of the place consistent, with hot rod magazines that no one reads and not one hot rod in sight. I got advice from a friend unfortunately after they (Acadiana Transmission) stole my money; Never bring your car to a auto repair shop that has a junkyard full of cars especially in the front of the establishment. For the record, everyone was extremely nice and knew how to talk to customers. But I just knew certainly they would express sarcasm once the customer leaves. I brought my car in for simple work, i.e tune up, brakes etc. Well, that turned into bringing it back and forth for months giving them ample chances to fix there screw ups, and they were many. See they warrant all their work as it relates to them getting you back in so they can conveniently find more work to charge more. I stupidly spent almost $5,000 and was almost killed by their work or the lack there of, so I decided not to return because there was always a new problem. I hope someone from there reads this, they are so lucky I didnt sew. Just remember as I type up this review of mine, the statue of limitations are still at play. With a little thought, they know exactly what I am referring to.
Poor customer service. I took my business elsewhere.I brought my vehicle here to diagnose a potential coolant issue. I was told to wait. A mechanic did eventually look at it.It took 4 hours to have a third party (counter person) to relay that Id have to drop it because there was a leak in the coolant. Bravo, I knew that. When I asked if they had experience working on the type of Foreign vehicle I had, I was told its just nuts and bolts. If I am going to spend money for a potential serious issue, then I will find a professional.Ps; I tried to Ignore the MAGA hats and trump flags. Parking lot is full of vehicles which customers have left behind because default of payment, may suggest business miss diagnosed leaving cutomer with a huge bill they couldnt pay. I am glad I didnt get my vehicle fixed here.
I was in Lafayette yesterday, from Lake Charles, and had to have my van looked at because of a check engine light and a squealing belt. I googled the closest auto shop to where I was and found Acadiana Transmission. Thank God I did! I like to give my $ to locals, and these guys were the friendliest, most accommodating people I could have met! Even the mechanic offered me coffee a couple of times. Every person in the place was nice and friendly and concerned about my comfort and not letting me get stuck on the interstate home. Thats a big deal to a girl traveling alone. I felt at home there for the 4 hours I was there while they located parts and fixed the problem. The guy behind the counter was very thorough explaining and quoting my repairs and charges. It ended up costing $100 less than the original quote! How many times does THAT happen! If I need car repairs in the future, I would be tempted to tow it to Lafayette to Acadiana Transmission for repairs if I had the extra money to spend!! haha!! This is a great place to do business with. I prayed to God before I googled, to bring me to a place that would fix my car and not rip me off, Im unemployed right now and am low on funds... God put me in the right place. Would highly recommend!!
Great bunch of people. I highly recommend them. AAA members get special priviledges as well!
We were visiting New Iberia from California when we heard a loud, rattling/scraping sound under the car near the wheel just as we pulled into the dirt parking lot of Zoosiana. We feared there was something wrong with the breaks. Upon the recommendation of AAA, we had the car towed to Acadiana. They told us they may not get a chance to look at the car until close to closing time. We sat in the waiting room and about 30 minutes later we were informed that they were able to squeeze us in for a look on the rack.Within minutes the smiling mechanic came in holding a piece of pea gravel and told us that he had found the source of the noise. The best part is that they charged us nothing for their time and trouble. We found the Southern Hospitality alive and well at Acadiana. Thanks for the quick and superb service!
I couldnt be happier with the transmission shop and the hot rod shop. My bronco is a beast and is awesome. The guys and Joe know their jobs. This is my two choices for transmission and hot rod vehicles. Thank yall
Great workmanship! Friendly staff, very knowledgeable, competitive pricing
I had Acadiana Transmission rebuild my transmission, replace some gaskets, and handle a few other minor repairs. Initially, there were a few problems after my vehicle was repaired that required me to go back to their shop a couple of times. They handled it all very well, didnt charge for making it right, and put me in a rental car until the issues were resolved. I will be doing business with Acadiana Transmission again. Joe is a stern but fair man and does good work.
Recently on the hot rod power tour the axle bearing broke. Acadian took me in and repaired the rear end. The labor was excellent and price very fair. I would recommend them for sure. Thanks for helping me complete my tour.
This is by far the BEST automotive service weve EVER had!! Our family was traveling from TX to FL for a DisneyWorld Spring Break trip. We had extensive maintenance done as a precaution before towing our RV such a long distance. Turns out that maintenance cost us a lot more. Long story short, we ended up needing our rear differential rebuilt. We broke down Friday evening and were afraid we wouldnt be able to find someone to repair it on a weekend let alone get the needed parts so quickly. They not only got us in for the repair, but came and picked me, the kids and the RV up where we were stranded and took us back to the shop. They then also took us to pick up some lunch and get our RV spare replaced after also having a blow out. Talk about going above and beyond!! The guys teamed up and got it repaired in about 6 hours and we were back on the road to DisneyWorld Saturday afternoon! What a blessing they are!!
Its not often I have to bring my car in for service. Acadiana Transmission made it an easy process. Overall it was an excellent experience.
I was told to drop my car off there in the morning and it would be looked at left it there all day and nothing was ever done had to go somewhere else
Avoid for your own good
I Wouldnt bring my vehicles anywhere else!!!! Wonderful work and great attitude!!!
These guys know what theyre doing.
I was told that my vehicle was having transmission issues so my fiance and I choose to go with Acadian Transmission....... Both my fiance and I spoke with a guy named Mike and after discussing all our options dropped our vehicle off at Acadian Transmission the very next morning. My fiance and I were told we would hear from them with a diagnosis on the vehicle and a price range, which we did we were told it was the transmission and we were looking at a price anywhere from 3500-4,500. And this is for a rebuilt transmission. After getting that price I decided to call around and see if this was in fact a correct price estimate for a rebuilt transmission...... I called another Auto shop who was able to direct me to a dealership who informed that a brand new transmission like the one in the truck would cost 2573.75. And that particular Auto shop would charge 865.00 + tax to install and 120.00 to calibrate. I went and picked my vehicle up and brought it to this other body shop and upon bringing it in my fiance and I were told that it would be cheaper to rebuild that problems werent major. I am new to this area and very unhappy with this auto mechanic shop. I feel like I was being over charged for a rebuilt transmission, I am so glad I did my research. I also would like to say Mike is very rude and really good at trying to sell the place but comes off arrogant, shady and talking to you as if you were stupid. I do not recommend Acadian Transmission to anyone and will never go back myself.
Always professional and very helpful. Have and would recommend to anyone.
I brought a car to them to fix it and I paid 3600 and it was the same they didnt do anything to take it again and they had it more than 4 months and they didnt fix it, it remained the same while they fixed the first car it takes a second to get it fixed and charged me $ 2800 and it was the same only worked for four days
RIP OFF REPORTOn July 11th, 2016, I brought my car to Acadiana Transmission and Auto Repair to access the cost of repair to my air conditioning system; the compressor needed to be replaced. I selected Acadiana Transmission and Auto Repair due to the fact that this is a local family owned an operated business and relatively close to my house. After several calls for status updates, 19 days after initial drop-off I called ATAR and was told that my car would be ready tomorrow. ATAR did not produce any formal quotations prior to execution of work nor did they advise the exact cost prior to this phone call or prior to doing the work. Nonetheless, when I went to pick up the vehicle, I paid in full a total of $1665.49. After driving the car around the block, the car was still not blowing cold air. After paying over 1600 bucks you would expect to see icicles, but this was not the case. The car was dropped back off at ATAR where I was told I could pick it up tomorrow. A week later (25 days after drop off), the car was picked up for the third time, and nothing had changed. The car was still not blowing cold air. Due to their sheer incompetence, I was forced to bring the car to the Infiniti dealership to get the AC corrected, where I paid an additional $150. Infiniti cited that the cabin air filter that I paid ATAR for, was not clean (they had not actually replaced it, but had charged me for it). AND the Freon system was not charged properly.I assumed that in paying a premium price that a premium and timely service would be provided. The total cost of $1655.69 exceeds all available online estimates by a minimum of $400 as well as the estimated cost to have it done at the Infiniti dealership.33 days after initial drop off (one month and four weekends without my car), I was FINALLY able to drive my car home.SAVE YOUR MONEY! DO NOT LET THEM WASTE YOUR TIME! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!
Hello Brittanyv I am the owner of acadaina transmission,Mike is not.I am sorry about your experience here, that is not how we conduct business.i wish this would have been brought to my attention before this.We pride ourselves on being a family owned and operated business and taking care of every customer like family. Good honest mevhanics
Honest but expensive
When i first brought my car in for inspection,i was told i would have a 4 year 75,000 warraanty, when i brought in in for repair i ask again about the warranty and i was told 3 year 75,000 mile warranty, then when i went to go pick it up the warranty went to a 2 year 24,000 mile warranty, its not even close to what they have on there advertisement,so i will never take any of my vehicles back to them nor will i recommend anyone to bring their vehicle there
Extremely helpful and honest people.
Great shop
Great people
Whatever you do don’t bring your vehicle to this place. They charged me $600 and didn’t even fix the problem at hand. It’s only 2 mechanics and it’s a bunch of cars so they take weeks to fix it. Overall this place is bad for business stay away!!! And they never gave me a refund so I was of $600 dollars wasted!!! HORRIBLE SHOP
