They really serve a good and high quality products. This is what I really like about this location. Very organize staffs and very helpful workers.

My sister and I seem to live here! The employees know us know, they see us running to the doors and are always kind. They love dogs, so if you have a good boy/girl feel free to bring them in for some treats! Overall, my favorite Jax, they are always willing to help!

Need just 2 screws and nuts? How about mirror hangers. Jax is the place to start. They have a whole isle of bins of small parts that you can buy just one instead of a package of 10.

Needed copies of some keys. I went back to Jax because they were fast and reasonably priced the last time I needed keys.This time the service was just as good as I remembered.

I really want to like Jax but they never have the parts I need. 90% of my visits here ended up with me going to home Depot for what I needed. Though the other 10% has been convenient. Cool store just dont go if you need specific things for your project

I went into this store around 11:30am to get a simple key cut. When I got there it was not busy inside and there was a trainee in the area and since he never done a key before, he called over another associate who took roughly 10 mins before he came over and he took one look at my key and said I do not feel comfortable cutting your key. I said why? you don’t trust your skills and he said yes.

Great hardware selection (screws, nuts, bolts bushings washers grommets etc) paint primer brushes rollers paint thinner & tools ... lots of farm & ranch items.

I absolutely love going to Jax, they always have the most friendly staff and I can always find everything I need for my two horses. So grateful to have such an amazing store that I can go to whenever I need something!

Jax has very interesting product line. I enjoyed their farm animal section. People here are helpful and attentive. There are farm fashion area, and I liked the old fashioned feeling there. Much more fun than Home Depot or Lowes.

Kinda like an ace hardware but with a little focus on ranch supply. there plumbing electrical sections could do with some organization.

I really do want to support local businesses but I have pretty much had it with Jax Farm and Ranch. I was there yesterday to buy a handful of standard electrical parts and, as usual, about 30% of their items were out of stock. I have found this to a common occurrence at Jax. At checkout I mentioned this to clerk and was given a very unhelpful response. I wound up driving to the Lowes in Louisville to get the one item that was out stock at Jax. I hate to say it, but I am looking forward to the Lowes opening in Erie so I dont have to waste my time trying to shop at Jax for item that are out of stock.

This Store being ulike others carries so many items that can only be found at more expensive places. The Crew there, always helpful with experiences in all types of jobs. There is always an experienced employee to assist the customers needs.

Jax has all of your farm and ranch needs. They carry a wide selection of tools, horse supplies and western wear. They have a very good boot supply with great prices.Jax is located at 400 W South Boulder Rd, Lafayette, CO 80026. Jax outdoor gear is located right across the street in the Waneka Marketplace lot.

Its nice to have an Ace-like hardware store nearby. Staff are always friendly and, more often than not, Ill find what in looking for (though there will likely be limited choices).

Skip the big box stores, JAX has what you need and staff to help.

Any little thing you need they seem to have it. From plumbing snakes to lawn care to work boots to paint. Always prefer to get things at Jax opposed to anywhere else. Even moving out of Lafayette, we come back to shop there. Theyre also the only store Ive found with Black Gold brand potting soil, a favorite of mine for succelents and cacti.

A very helpful staff works here. I especially enjoyed meeting a kind gentleman in the area in the back of the store where I looked at pocket knives. They also had some carabiners there from across the street. Check them out they literally have everything you could want in terms of hardware and farming gear

While Im happy with the staff and selection there is one thing that I find thats bad. Very often (every two or three trips) I buy an item in which the price at the register is higher than the price that was marked. For example, I recently bought some contact cement. The price for the item was listed as $4.99 but it rang up as $5.49. While the staff has always given me the marked price after my complaining, this shouldnt be happening in the first place. Please update the marked price BEFORE updating your registers data base, and not the other way around.UPDATE: Its been a year since the above post and since the store said that they are working on it. However, things arent any better. They are still posting fraudulent prices. Just today I went to buy an item that was listed as $8.99 (and I took a photo of the marked price to be sure that I wasnt mistaken) but at the checkout it rang up as 13.99! Warning to consumers: check the prices on all of your items. Odds are quite good that they will ring you up higher.

I received a personalized note from accounting noting that an error was found in applying a coupon during checkout. The note included a gift certificate for more than the coupon value! Personal touch, caring people. Feels local and acts local. Thanks Jax, love having you in our town.

Went into the store to pick up a few items. Asked for assistance with getting the right items. After waiting and watching a couple store employees just standing at the register doing nothing in plain view of me watching me waiting on someone to come. I left and they were shocked that I did. Called and spoke to the manager. She assured me thats not normal practice and asked if Id come back. I dont think so. Ill go back to Murdochs. I had just happened to be in the area and had a few min to spare.

Not a fan of this location. It really feels like a barn crossed with a manufacturing facility. I have been spoiled by the Broomfield location - much nicer ambience and better selection.

Staff were SO helpful! The issue was tire chains. They helped me interpret info in my owners manual and went out to my car to look at my tires. They were wonderful and saved me money! (Turns out my tires precluded the need for chains under new CO laws.) If I lived in this area, JAX would be my hardware store of choice.

Wonderful experience! I needed a bale of straw, and Kaitlyn very wisely suggested wrapping it to keep the car clean. She was very friendly and helpful!

They have a good variety of things you might need for around the home. Prices dont really compete with the big box stores but thats expected from a local company. They have everything from riding lawnmowers to animal feed to housewares. They do have the best selection around of nuts, bolts, fasteners etc.

Had a major malfunction with my control arm on my Suzuki, broke down in front of Jax. After some misunderstandings and some parts taking there sweet time, I thought the worst had happened when my car wasnt there anymore, but Jax actually came through for me and made things better...before I knew it; I was able to get my car back and take my 3 kids shopping there again! Thank you Laura and the guys at Jax for helping turn a very stressful week into a something manageable again!

I find Jax quite satisfactory. Ive made purchases from quite a few departments and find merchandise well-stocked and the prices reasonable. I often sharpen my own chain saws, but $10 to have it done perfectly is appreciated. There is a large selection of work gloves for any purpose. Sturdy work clothes are good values. Jax seems to focus on selling better quality products, so expect to pay a little more, but its worth it. Solid selection of tools, lots of the basics and beyond for plumbing, gardening, animal care, etc. I dont have a farm but judging from the troughs, fencing, and equipment beside the parking lot, I assume Jax should serve the needs of more small-scale ranchers and farmers. Knowledgeable staff is somewhat hit or miss depending on the depth or complexity of the issue, not so bad like The Home Depot, not so great like McGuckins.

Had what I was looking for that other similar stores didnt have. Customer service was awesome.

Great hardware store, they also have a decent selection of clothing and even some footwear. Staff is quick to help you find items your looking for if you ask. Ive never really had to wait very long in checkout too which is a nice plus.

I go into the store so often and so often I am disappointed. They lack the ability to stock the Bare Necessities right angle copper pieces or plate covers or simple switches. It’s strange because they kind of look like a hardware store but they cannot pull it off. 50% of the time I go in there to buy something really simple and common and they don’t have it. I wish they would rethink their stock. 7 miles to the closest Home Depot in two different directions. More times than not Jax ends up being just a stop off before I go to a real hardware store. So frustrating

If you have forty horses and no life, this is the one stop shopping place for you. Horse and livestock feed, supplements, tack, ranch building supplies, gardening, hardware, decor, books, and a nice selection of western clothing, jeans, hats, etc. Watch for the sales racks in the clothing department--they are good. Knowledgeable customer service and friendly staff.

I dont recommend jax for getting any building supplies. I called ahead and asked if they had a very particular item. I asked by brand and then gave them the exact model number and a description of what the item was. They claimed that they had more than enough in stock. I then confirmed the model number once again over the phone. When I arrived they did not have the item in stock and then proceeded to show me item that they were talking about on the phone which was not even relatively close to what I described or speced. I then explained to them that this was not the right item and they essentially told me the discrepancy was my fault and sent me away without even a fake apology.Being a builder Im not expecting a consumer supply house to be very knowledgeable about materials. If it were not for the poor customer service experience I would not leave a review since this occurs regularly with supply houses such as jax and home depot. However, lack of competency paired with no regard for customer service is not acceptable.Review edited due to response

This is the ultimate East County home improvement store. Its has everything and anything you could imagine needing. Service is excellent too! We get all of our gardening, pet supplies, and tools from here.

I called Jax in Lafayette for someone to repair my Pellet stove.. They recommended Colby, This was in April 2018. He came out took parts no#s and left. 2 mos later he brought part out. It was wrong so we had to reorder part.. Called him on 8-13-2018 to no avail, called again 8-15 2018 and he came 8-18-2018 with another part. Said it was repaired and left. When the weather got bad we turned on stove, it cycled about 4 times and filled the firebox with black smoke so no blower once again. Colby will not answer my calls and Jax says they are not responsible even though they recommended him...I recommend no one hire Colby fromRockies Gas Connection to do work for them.

This store is outrageously expensive, the owner should be ashamed he’s charging 16 dollars for one twelve inch sawll saw blade . It’s a crooked company price gouging to the max

The guys at the outdoor equipment counter were the least helpful people Ive encountered in any setting in a long time. They knew too much to be helpful but just the right amount to be cocky and off-putting. I suspect that they carried what I needed but the guy didnt care to listen. I was there 10 minutes before he even offered help and he wasnt the least bit helpful. This is why Amazon is winning at everything. After wasting my time at Jax, I came home and jumped on Amazon. Found exactly what I needed in under 2 minutes at a great price and attitude free. I likely never have a need to walk in to a Jax again unless Im looking for someone to make me feel like a idiot.

Love Jax, wish the prices were a bit lower. Having said that, when you need clothing, or outdoor gear for camping or hiking they have a fantastic selection!

This place does have a lot of stuff. Almost everything you would need from a hardware and feed store. It also helps that theyre sponsored by dewalt and carry one of the best selections of dewalt tools. For that reason and that their costumer service is pretty good i gave them a 3. The reason i dont like this place is that they are ridiculously over priced. They even make the small mom and pop hardware stores seem like a bargin. I paid $5.50 at Lafayette Lumber for something they are charging $14.99 for. The exact same item. Not everything is priced so dramatically. Most are just a little more expensive.

I think there is a management problem here. Lots of employees wandering around, but no one could help with prices, didnt know where things were, confused about advertised discounts. A few times I was asked if I needed help, and when I responded they simply said they were sorry, they didnt know. When I told the manager of this problem, she just got condescending and said, Im sorry, in a way that really meant, Too bad, leave now. Very strange! Probably two employees for each customer, but no one could help people out! Very different weekday experience from my weekend experience at Jax Ranch and Home.

About one of the worst experiences at any store that I’ve had by far. Walked in to buy some drill bits and while I was in the aisle, one of the employees walked by and gave me one of the worst and most judgmental looks I have ever had anyone give me in my life instead of greeting me and asking me if I needed any type of assistance, she probably assumed I was going to steal something, walked back and forth in between aisles eye balling me a few times and then add insult to injury, went to the register and the clerk was insanely rude as well and made me wait a long time to pay for 3 drill bits. I will never come back here in my life again, should have gone to Home Depot instead of trying to give small business my hard earned money, huge mistake this time around. Extremely disappointed that some people are this ignorant even this far into the century.

I have not encountered such breathtaking incompetence in years. I went in twice to get hear to hook up my air compressor to my sprinkler system. Each time I was given the wrong equipment. I will never stop there again so long as I live.

Worst customer service in the world. The hardware department is b absolutely atrocious. I will drive to The Orange Box from now on for all my needs. The employees here are absolutely the laziest and most unhelpful people I have ever met.

Products are awesome. But more importantly, the customer service was the best out of any store I have ever been too.

I sat behind the building, waiting for someone to load my items, I had to call inside TWICE! The condition of the yard is a mess. The employees are mostly standing around chatting while the isles are stacked with inventory that needs shelved. I dont know whats going on but its ridiculous! Guess Ill drive farther and go to tractor supply next time. Get it together, people!
