I live in Baton Rouge and our local camera repair places have closed. Camtec was the closest place I could find when I needed service for my camera. Called and described the problem. Michael told me he thought it needed to be cleaned. Decided not to drive over so sent it by mail. When they got it they checked it out quickly and felt it just needed cleaning. He called me the next day and told me it was ready. My husband was driving back from Houston that day and he called and told them. He wasnt going to be there by the time they closed, but Michael told him he would wait. Excellent service and wonderful people to deal with. I highly recommend them.

I was extremely impressed with Michael. He was very nice over the phone and even offered to come in during his off hours. When I did show up with my camera he was polite and professional. He offered me a chair and looked at my camera. It turned out to be an easy fix. It took him about 5 minutes and when he was done he said it was on him! He gave me his business card and said to remeber him. I will totally do that! I highly recommend his service!

Was having focusing issues with my camera. Bought my camera here and was told that it just needed to be cleaned and POSSIBLY have a motor changed in the lens. CHARGE WOULD BE $390.00 whether the lens motor was replaced or not. Considering that it costs $700 + for a new camera, I let them attempt to repair it. Received the camera back still broken. Bought it in a second time only to be told that the motor they replaced was the wrong kind of motor for my camera. Again, replaced motor! Michael confirmed that there was still trash in the camera and that it was not cleaned properly the first time, therefore they cleaned the camera yet again! Got the camera back, motor is now working fine, BUT THE CAMERA STILL HAS TRASH IN IT WHEN YOU LOOK THROUGH THE LENS!!!!! Dont waste your time with these people.

Not too many local options like this still exist. He is helpful and realistic when it comes to fixing or replacing a camera.
