Coffee brewed hot. Taste good black.. peach sorbet was good. Atmosphere was nice.. Definitely recommend a visit here.

None of the workers were wearing masks. No concern for the community that keeps them in business. I mean seriously? Masks are SUCH a simple thing to do. We left without ordering. Wont be back.

Itd cute and quaint. Its definitely changed from what it used to be, but its a good change. They have tasty treats, the drinks are great, and the atmosphere is lovely. The girls that work there are absolute gems; very chill and super friendly. The monk blend tea is divine.

This place immediately gave me a hipster-vibe, and I absolutely fell in love with it. Its so easy to get lost in your thoughts while relaxing here. I recommend coming here at night; the candlelight is beautiful in the dark.

Got the Earl grey and the way its served is so cute. You get your own little pot and can refill your cup several times with it as you please. Perfect way to spend an evening studying.

Located Downtown Lafayette, off of Jefferson, Carpe Diem has a beautiful laid-back yet elegant atmosphere. You can sit inside or outside and do your usual coffee house thing... The staff is gracious, their coffee is delicious and the banana nut bread that is made by the owners mother is to die for.... Has to be the best banana nut bread I had eaten in my life and Im 54 years old, Ive got to say its better than my own. Visit this quaint elegant atmosphere, youre sure to be pleased ❤️

If I could give it zero stars, I would. My sister and I stopped by Carpe Diem today to work on some homework since the hurricane knocked out our WIFI for a few days. The owner (Elizabeth Payne) marched up to our table VERY rudely, completely pulling her mask off of her face to tell us if you are not purchasing anything then you need to leave. the WIFI is for PAYING customers only. My sister is AUTISTIC and does not know how to handle situations like this. I did not notice she walked up to my sister at first or else I would have told her that she was making her uncomfortable and that we would purchase something (before hearing her attitude). But by the time I noticed, my sister was frantic and packing her stuff because she was told to get out. Mind you, I had no clue that we had to purchase something to sit down or else we would have right whenever we walked in. I do not believe there is a sign that stated this outside. Even if there was, a simple, nice reminder would have led us to purchase something. Or maybe, invest in signs to put on each table. Money was not the issue here. If she would have approached us differently, I would have gladly given my card up along with a big tip, as usual. However, we were so caught off guard by her demanding we leave that we packed up and walked home in the rain. I do NOT recommend this place and will make sure I tell everyone I know that this place is the most unfriendly spot in Lafayette. My mother was so flustered with how my disabled sister was treated that she called to speak with Elizabeth and she was not given any justification other than we brought in outside drinks which we would have easily thrown away if we would have known that was FORBIDDEN. The owner stated that there were paying customers waiting to sit down, this was not the case at all. She lied multiple times on the phone with my mother. There were many empty seats around us. The owner is anti-mask and NOT friendly one bit. We will make sure Lafayette locals start to realize this.

This place used to be really nice when it was just a coffee shop. over time the owners have absolutely run it into the ground. Remember when they re-decorated it exactly like reve so both coffee shops downtown were exactly the same? Their latest addition, the alcohol menu, is especially disappointing because they wont serve it to you if anyone in your party is under 21. That would be a fine policy if not for the fact that they tell you about it by announcing to the entire room that they will not be serving you alcohol 🙃 Seriously though, my brother and I went here (Im 23, hes 20) with a friend (24) and I tried to order a drink and a shot for myself. The girl behind the counter asks for my ID. I give it to her and she squints while staring between myself and the ID. She says to me Oh, so one of these drinks are for this person youre with, right? I wont be serving you that. Its not worth it for me. I said no and tried to order just the one drink, no shot. She wouldnt do that either. My brother offered to go to the car and take a drive instead so I started to hand him the keys. Before I could give them to him, she shouted I am not serving you alcohol, loud enough for everyone else to hear. Looking back on it, Im pretty peeved at the way she talked about my brother. She kept saying this PERSON as if she couldnt tell he was a dude because of his long hair. Not that im offended she couldnt tell, but she kept saying it so loud. What if he was trans? Thats really rude to draw attention to. I could tell by the way she looked at us from the moment we walked in that she had already decided we didnt belong. Sadly, I think im going to have to remove this from the list of places i visit when Im in town.

UPDATE: Owner reached out and apologized for the incident...holding grudges is not my thing...went back on 9/26/21....staff had masks on but there were no restrictions posted... enjoying my favorite Affagato!Up until today this was the best and favorite of all coffee houses. Husband and I walked in to get our usual Sunday afternoon Affagato. I didnt have my mask on. My husband did. I gave the person my order and stepped outside. Husband walks out and said they wouldnt fill my order because I didnt have a mask on. While there were four other customers in there who were without masks. They blew it!

I definitely recommend stopping by for a sweet treat. The almond dessert was perfectly moist on the inside with a crunchy bottom to compliment it.

Exceptional service paired with gelato and cafe service make it easy to feel comfortable at Carpe Diem! Regular drip coffee is treated with as much reverence as any buzzword process and produces remarkable results. Baked cookie was chewy af and cloyingly sweet- good thing its not a cookie company.

This has become a go-to spot every time I go downtown. The gelato is awesome and they have new flavors every time I go. The atmosphere is super cool too!

You really need to train your new employees better. I have been going here before you bought it and the quality has gone downhill. The girl wanted to charge me the same price for a tub of gelato for a pint all because you were out of a pint to place two different flavors inside. I’m done with this. Too bad you are the only gelato place in this town. The quality and selection is subpar to normal establishments elsewhere. Furthermore, your little employee in the morning making espresso is extremely rude and unprofessional. All this is indicative of an owner who is either complacent or ignorant. Either way it’s a shame.

Ordered one iced sweet tea and one iced elderberry tea at 3.50 a piece which both tasted like regular sweet tea nothing special then was charged another 3.50 a piece for a refill. There is no sign and no one said a iced sweet tea has no refills. Paid $14.00 for sweet tea with nothing special and was told elderberry tea is the sweet tea after. Well good thing we arent allergic to berries or lime leaves that are supposed to be infused in the tea. Not a good experience. First time there. Wont be back

Great true Italian gelato! We had affogatos - expresso coffee with a scoop of gelato in it. Fun friendly staff in the middle of Lafayettes old downtown area. Full bar and coffee shop too. Like being in 🇮🇹 Italy without the plane flight.

Service was a little slow, but it was well worth the wait. Its a wonderful getaway in a quaint corner of Downtown Lafayette. ❤️

We were able to reserve Carpe Diem and had gelato as a dessert alternative at our wedding reception. It was a total hit and I’m so glad we were able to pull it off! Ice cream is one of my favorite desserts, so it was fitting, and our guests thought it was awesome.

They just redecorated which makes the place feel a bit more comfy but the real attraction is the expertly made drinks from cold to hot, coffee or tea. And now that they have a bar, its going to be a nice little quite place to hang on a lazy Friday morning/afternoon. Plus the staff are the nicest people youll meet.

This place has eally excellent gelato. They showcase different flavors each day (you can find the daily flavors posted daily on their Instagram). The amaretto was incredible. Staff were super friendly and accommodating, and the place was absolutely spotless (also super cozy). Definitely going there again!

Love! Love! Love! I love this place its a cute & cozy. You can sit outside and enjoy downtown Lafayette. There is a piano outside that people will random stop by to play. The inside is nice. Staff is friendly and welcoming. They also have a great espresso bar and small cafe like food choices. Its a wonderful place. Definitely a must visit!!

Great little gem and wonderful vibe. Lavender Honey Latte was wonderful, a little too sweet for me but great flavor. We also had the drip coffee and Americano smooth with deep flavor.When we come back to Lafayette we will definitely be back.

One of my favorite places in Lafayette. The absolute BEST gelato. One day they served this gelato from locally sourced blood oranges. To die for! My daughter and I usually get the Biscoff gelato. My husband and my grandparents and I went one evening. It has a nice vibe & employees were super nice! As for the Gelato... I was def disappointed. After being all watery mouthed over it for weeks, I get it and it honestly just taste like regular ice cream. Super big let down. And Im not saying it wasnt good, Im just saying it wasnt what I expected or what it looked like in pictures posted by the company. In their pictures it looks whipped and super super soft and creamy. But all I tasted was ice cream.

Their gelato is consistently the tastiest sweet treat in Lafayette. They actually have to take away their most popular flavors from time to time so people try other things and i have loved every single flavor Ive ever tried there. Oh, their Italian brew cappuccino is also my favorite over other coffeehouses in the area and the location itself is pretty cozy.

#1 in the city. They always have new flavors, but pretty consistently have the biscoff flavor which is always good. Theyre new and experimental flavors tend to be unique and delicious.

Im from out of town and just stopped in. Seemed to be popular, with a nice atmosphere. We ordered espresso, a brownie, truffles, and some kind of a white chocolate coconut truffle. A Shot of Starbucks espresso would have been better. And Starbucks shots are completely sub par to enjoy as a shot. The brownie was hard, dry, and crumbly. The chocolate truffle was definitely disappointing. I didnt even try the other truffle. Everything else was bad enough, I had no desire to.I also stopped in Reve Coffee Lab the next day. Where i loved the espresso.

I had a few minutes before a meeting and stopped in here. The espresso was excellent and the service was perfect. No cardboard cups (that I saw), they use real European style cups. If I had time I would have tried the gelato. It looked really good.

Beautiful new aesthetic in the interior. They serve Cuvée coffee, which is an amazing roaster from Austin, TX. The environment is very quite, so it’s a great place to study, and focus on work.

Very authentic Gelato. The only give you a sample of two flavors, so pick wisely. Also they will not mix more flavor the on the sign. So for kiddie size you are stuck with only 1 flavor.

Capre Diem is delicious. The people are super friendly, and they also sell homemade soup. The whole scene is refreshing and shows that Lafayette is expanding culturally.

My fiance specifically told them twice that I do not like coffee and not to put coffee in my milkshake. They put coffee in my milkshake anyway and we couldnt get it fixed or get a refund because they closed immediately after he left even though they had 5 minutes left before they closed.
