Maybe its because Ive been eating here literally all my life, but its my favorite pizza anywhere. I always get The Works which I believe is also called the Mikes Special or something. Their crust is thin, but not the crispy, cracker-like thin, this is the fold-it-at-the-back thin with some flexibility. The only downside is this pizza doesnt keep well as left-overs, otherwise this has been my familys pizza spot since it opened in 1957.
The best authentic Italian experience in Lafayette. This restaurant is iconic. Wide variety of menu options and the staff is always courteous and kind. Love to watch the chef throw dough outside of the front window. Such a different experience here than any other Italian restaurant in the area. Highly recommend this clean, family friendly establishment.
There is a reason this place has been around since I was a little girl. Its another excellent date night or family dining option. The staff is great! The food is the closest to a home cooked Italian dinner as you can get! My recommendation is the mouth watering veal parmesan! Not only is it delicious but you definitely get your moneys worth in the hearty portions you receive!
Real good food. Atmosphere seemed kinda tryhard but service was good. Would recommend for Italian food.
Alesis is always great. I love their salad and the pizza is just great. Wait staff always pleasant.
We are traveling and a local recommended Alesi Pizza House. When we arrived we debated on the pizza or something else. We decided on Lasagna and Cannilloni Florentine with meatballs. Both orders came with garlic bread and a salad. We got the house Italian salad dressing and it was wonderful.Im very picky about my Lasagna and this is one of the best I have ever had. The Cannilloni Florentine with meatballs was also delicious. We passed on desert as we were not able to even finish our entrees. Our waiter Carlos was wonderful, he offered suggestions and was very friendly. We will definitely return to Alesi Pizza House next time we are in the area.
Alesis has been our go to spot for many many years. Pizza was good but the Chicken Alfredo was way off par. We had two others at our table that ordered it, same sentiments from all and all 3 of us have ordered it the many times...
Only do take out there. Table service I have always found to be below average. But the food is good
We had shrimp fettachina, and 12 ounce ribeye, with loaded baked potato. As always cooked perfect.
ALESI PIZZA HAS TO BE THE WORST! POOR POOR SERVICE! VERY OVER PRICED! THE CARPET AND REST ROOMS ARE FILTHY. THE SAUCE IS RIGHT OUT OF THE CAN! THE MEATBALLS WERE SO TOUGH I HAD TO CUT WITH A KNIFE! OUR WAITRESS PUT EXTRA CHARGES ON MY BILL BUT I PAID WITH NO ARGUMENTS! IT IS THE LAST TIME I WILL SET FOOT IN THAT FLITHY DUNGEON!
Ambiance was nice. Staff were superb!! Food was terrific!!! Dining area and restroom was very clean!!
Wonderful! We love Aleais! Have eaten here for 30+years and never disappoints!
Family night out. Always great pizza and pasta.
Had pepperoni pizza and lasagna tonight, both excellent. Pizza has thin crust and has been perfect every time. My favorite is Veal Sicilian, though.
Friendly servers, down home cooking and huge portions.
Awesome flavors. Bread sticks, salad with their homemade Italian dressing and the meat pizza was so fresh and tasty.
This pizza had a great combination of melty cheese and plenty of meat all baked on a thin crust that blends perfectly!
Lafayettes original Italian restaurant serving some very good dishes and some not quite so good. Overall, I enjoy visiting there.
Loved the ambience & food! Hadnt been in ages but memories returned. Gotta try the pizza again.
My son and I enjoy our meals here each and every time.
Wonderful Italian food like my grandmother used to make.
Same thin crust delicious pizza I recall from some 25+ years ago...
Very good Italian, I like the place will go again
I loved this place! The meal is so delicious! Their Italian dressing for salad is amazing! Thank for an excellent attention!
The waitress was excellent! The pizza was delicious! 😋
The lasagna is usually delicious, but I got 3 orders to go yesterday and there was no cheese other than the ricotta. Drowning in gravy, but nothing on top. I had been bragging on this lasagna to a friend, but I was so disappointed to serve it to him like that.
Very pleasant atmosphere not to mention the food and service.
Food was rally good. Service was great. 👍👍 Will be back.
I have been a regular patron of Alesis for over 55 years. There food is always delicious and the service is great! Just an overall OUTSTANDING FAMILY RESTAURANT !!!
What a wonderful treat! Great atmosphere and delicious food! We had a friendly waiter who kept our drinks filled. Menu included traditional choices, pizza, steaks, and pastas. The husband and I both tried something new and absolutely loved it. Very flavorful food. Perfect for date nights with their candle lit tables.
Excellent food and service.
Favorite place to eat when we are in Lafayette!
The best pizza I have ever had! Loved it in 80s and love it now!
It would be 5 but the darkness the darkness lol
My issue is not so much with the food, but with the way they packaged a delivery order. All the pasta dishes that should have been placed flat in bag were laid end up. It was a saucy mess. Now they sorta tasted good, the presentation was terrible. Their fried cheese appetizer was fried to much, the cheese disappeared. The salads were good.
This place has been a favorite of mine since childhood and now my kids & grandkids look forward to every visit. How many places have the same menu of quality dishes and many of the same staff they did 40+ years ago? Im a lifelong customer.
The best local Italian! Meatballs and bread sticks are a must have, along with Pizza Alesi.
Very good! Delicious food and generous portions.
Sad to say this pizza continues Louisianas string of bad pizza places. Terrible, cardboard crust, undersized, overpriced, and cold after my 5 minute drive. Maybe their other food is good, but stay away from the pizza!
The food here is delicious! Everything I had was exceptionally good. I will be back and without a doubt recommend to everyone I know.
We got a to-go pizza, so I cant really speak to the service aspect here. The pizza, though, was not good at all. None of it seemed fresh, and the mushrooms on top were definitely canned. It was way too expensive too. Would have been better off getting a Hunts Bros.
Very friendly staff and great food.
Great place to Eat
The food was excellent the staff was above board and everybody was covid-19 compliance
Food is sub par. Ordered mozz sticks and is tasteless. Ordered the cheese pizza and it was basically burnt. Very disappointed
An Italian classic in Lafayette. Unfortunately, in the almost 21 years of my experience with this restaurant, Ive only ever enjoyed the jalapeño appetizer.
Amazing!! One of my familys favorite places to go for dinner. The staff is always so nice and Ive never had a problem at this restaurant. Their shrimp Alfredo on by far my favorite but everything is good!!
Pizza and bread sticks (w/homemade meat sauce) were SO yummy! Our waitress was super nice, the environment was clean with a Family friendly atmosphere. Would definitely go back. We adore Lafayette and Alesi will now be one of our fave food stops when we visit. #bookmarkedforLafayette
Service was good. Food was good but not great. Didnt try the pizza though.
We love us some Alesis!!! Very calming environment! Fabulous food!
It is always very good. Unfortunately, we got all the way back home with the wrong pizza for my parents!!! Too far to go back to exchange for correct one . Hopefully, the other person didnt get upset. But not going to keep that from us going back!!!!! Great place
I was born in Lafayette and moved away in 1966. My family loved Alesi’s. I stopped in last month and couldn’t believe how little it had changed over the last 50 years. The smells, the amazing pizza, the same vinyl booths, the dim lighting... I can’t wait to introduce it to my family on our next visit. I’ve never had pizza anywhere that compares.
Husbands pick, one of few places that was open for indoor seating on our anniversary... They sat us too close to another group (everyone else was spread out), our bill was more than wed wanted to spend, but our waitress was very attentive and took good precautions and the food was GREAT. Thumbs up on the steak and the manicotti. We also like their cannolis, although we didnt get them this time. A Lafayette institution that my from-out-of-state husband is in love with.
Ordered from here for the first time tonight! We were in the mood for pizza, no commercial pizza like pizza hut, when I stumbled upon this gem!! OMG hands down one of the best places for pizza in Louisiana......PERIOD!! It is a little pricy for a pizza, but it is loaded with toppings!! Everything tasted fresh, and the crust edges I normally do not care for, but these where crisp with like a butter garlic on it. You have a new #1 fan for life!!!!!
If you like iceberg/out-of-a-bag salad; Chef Boyardee; and stale untoasted bread with cold butter, then this is the place for you. Maybe our mistake was getting pasta at a pizza house, but either way, youre better off buying a cheap jar of pasta sauce at your local grocery store for the same quality at a much lower price. Their meatballs were boiled and were the texture of tofu; their shrimp clearly came out of a frozen bag most likely from China; and their spaghetti was watery. Take your hard-earned money somewhere else.
Food is very good
Out of all of Lafayette this place is my favorite first date restaurant. It’s got beautifully candle lit tables but it’s casual enough that you might see people in jeans or kaki shorts. The ambiance just can’t be beat. And their pizza is my absolute favorite. Period. In my world, no one does it better. I have a lot of nostalgia because my father would take me here as a child and I fell in love with the place then.
Nice people good food sha
My pizza was very good. It was a 6 inch and the size was not on the menu, but our waitress suggested it. My mom got the spaghetti and meatballs again. Sauce was very good but she found the meat was ground too finely so the meatballs were a little pasty in texture. The flavor was very good though. Our service was excellent as always.
Overall very good customer service, food, etc..
Weve been eating here for 10 years and the quality, taste, portions, and service are always fantastic. Wonderful place!
Eating at Alesi Pizza House is always a hit. Brought a friend who had never been and she loved it. Good job.
Great food and very good service despite being very busy.
If you like pizza, you will love this place!!!! Awesome food and the staff were wonderful!!!!
Metcha is the absolute best waitress!
Real Italian food thank all fake pizza
Ive been going here since I was a little kid and its simply the best pizza ever! If you havent had a REAL bacon pizza you are missing out. Lots of long strips of bacon, not bacon crumbles you can barely fine like everywhere else. I always get it half bacon and half shrimp because idk which is best. Just love it here.
Pretty good food had spaghetti with meat sauce. Most likely try the pizza on the next visit. Services was definitely not very promptly.
A very old Lafayette restaurant that has not changed much over the years --- and this is a good thing. I remember eating here as a kid. The food is good and the service knowledgeable and friendly. Parking is a bit difficult at times given the location (although 30 years ago it was probably much easier to park given the increase in traffic over the years). Otherwise, a good place to relax with family.
I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. The BEST spaghetti and meatballs and easily in my top 5 favorite pizzas of all time. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. Will be stopping by again soon!
I first ate my first Alesi Pizza in 1966 and it was the best pizza I had ever eaten. I routinely ate there until 1972 when I moved to Houston. I would still eat there occasionally whenever I returned to Lafayette and the food was always good. It had been several years last week when I was back in town and ordered Pizza and salad to impress my family. I have to say we all agreed it was the worst food we had ever eaten. The large Pizza is only 12 and costs about $20 depending on toppings. The crust tastes like some kind of pre frozen wheat bread and the sauce was sweet and lacking. There was barely any cheese and the quality of their pepperoni and other ingredients was poor. I guarantee it was not tossed as it shows on their website. My wife and sister in law both had salads and both got sick. My wife was sick for 2 days. We had 3 different large pizzas and they all were terrible. My suggestion is bring back a cook like the old man who used quality ingredients, knew how to cook pizza, and took pride in his work.
Awesome! Great service. Romantic setting. The mushroom appetizer is great. Large slices of fresh mushrooms. The pizza is a wonderful hand tossed thin crust with their special house marinara sauce. The Italian sausage is actually fresh crumbled sausage, not bagged cheap sausage.
Poor service, not only for our table but others as well. We watched several tables ask anybody passing to find their server. Appetizer was good, we had fried ravioli. The pizza on the other hand.. was it pizza? The crust was like a Lil Debbie Oatmeal Cookie both in texture and thickness. We had the Pizza La Mike which had some canned vegetables on top, extremely watery, unflavored, unseasoned, soggy crust, and didn’t seem to be baked all the way. I would go back if I had to but would only order an appetizer. Maybe we just caught them on a bad night but it didn’t seem like this was too unusual.
Great food. Great service!
Nice noodle plates...gooder pizza!
We have not been to the restaurant before. Im not sure if he was the manager or the owner, but he was nice. The mushrooms on the pizza were from a CAN of food. Not fresh. The pizza dough nothing special. The frying oil was old. Disappointed. Will give it another shot in the near future.
Love this place, the staff, and of course the food for over 30 years!
A Lafayette tradition. Ive been coming to this restaurant since I was a kid. Its a great place to bring the family yet also a good place for a date. The prices are a little steep, but I think you pay for the ambiance the quality of the food. The pizza is good and the sauces for the various pasta dishes is really great.
Best pizza in lafayette and the most quiet and relaxed. Good price. Its the most over looked place in the world but its my favorite place. Sacred the newer generations are too hooked on dominoes and pizza hut.
Very tasty pizza and relaxing times. A local tradition in Lafayette LA.
First time dining at Alesis and it was great. We were traveling through Lafayette and found this place through our hotel, Best Western Inn. The food was outstanding. Had spaghetti and meatballs and my wife had shrimp alfredo. Both were very good. The thousand island dressing had to have been house made. It was outstanding. Be careful when ordering half-plate vs. full plate servings. The full plate will feed two people, great for taking home for another meal. The service was outstanding. We ate here on a Wednesday evening. Seated immediately, but as the evening progressed, it became more crowded. The spacing is good between tables. This is on our list of places to stop when going through Lafayette. I cant wait to go back!
Alesi’s used to be my go-to for Italian but the quality has gone down. Our dinner tonight was disappointing. Bland Alfredo, hardly any sauce on the pasta when they used to slather it on, chicken parm looked and tasted like a frozen dinner.
Amazing pizza,beautiful caring staff.
So this place deserves two separate ratings. Their pizza is fantastic, and I would easily rate it 5 stars. The rest of the food is unfortunately abysmal, especially the pasta dishes. Suffice it to say, use this place for to-go pizza only.
For thin crust pizza, the place is fantastic. I live in Chicago and this place is an all around great place. I have actually arranged air travel into Lafayette to eat here before it closes in the evening. This is an old school place for those who like great food!!!
First time Ive ever been, and was really impressed! The food was very good- authentic Italian if Id say so myself. Very relaxing and romantic atmosphere! Highly recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful, relaxing and romantic location to enjoy some really great food !
Best pizza, pasta, breadsticks everything there is so good
Historic Lafayette establishment with some very good pizza (I always get the Pizza Alesi; my favorite). My family has been going there for a long time and will continue as long as they stay open. Go for a good relaxing time. Also, try the cannoli!!!
Friendly welcome staff, quick service, a nice escape from the kerfuffle of Johnson street. The food was great and reasonably priced too!
Was awful mushrooms from a can
We had pizza, and pasta. Excellent service
One of the staple restaurants in Lafayette. Has been here for a very long time. Authentic pizza. Unique cozy atmosphere. Parking is a bit of an issue. Im a very loyal customer
Food was delicious and service was wonderful. Great place to have a quiet date night.
The best pizza ever! The anti-pasta salad is huge and delicious.
