Beautiful location. Steps from the beautiful beach of Laguna Beach 🏖. The patio is on a cute walking street. I like the food specially the almond croissant

I saw this place from the other side of the street and knew I had to take a peek. Sure enough, inside was a pastry of such exquisite deliciousness that I cant adequately describe just how good it is. Its called Tropezienne and if youve never had it, you deserve to try it, or any other of their selection of exquisite treats.

Wow!!! I went overboard with the desserts. The coffee was great. The desserts were fresh and so good!!The entire street is closed for outdoor dining so no parking here. I had to park on the next street.

After finishing an extensive hike to get to The Top of the World- we were in dire need of some fuel. Just off of the South Coast Highway you’ll find a little slice of France. 1 of their 5 locations is located right in the sunny side of Laguna, and that’s where I met the relaxing beach breeze with some major flavors delivered by Moulin.As soon as you walk in, you’re immediately going to feel like youve been transported to a classic French café. With every detail of the décor and the huge wall of novelty snacks and wines, youll hit with the aroma of fresh heavenly bread. This mixed with the sweet smell of grease thats coming straight from the kitchen. You know something good is cooking back there as you wait in line only to be staring at the plates of other customers and the array of desserts and sandwiches in the display case.Paté Sandwich - ($10.00) - YES!! Paté for breakfast because why not! Let’s start with the bread though, this baguette was nothing short of amazing. From the crunch and chew of each bite you’re taking, to the bounce the inner interior; now that’s some good bread texture. Paté with pickles and mustard was definitely a first for us, and I’m so happy we did it. The pate was just salty enough to mix with the sour and sweet mixtures that bounced off the pickles and mustard. 10/10 would order again.Hazelnut Choux - ($6.00) - Now THIS is what Im talking about. Fluffy, airy, sweet and subtle. Everything crammed into a mini delicate looking piece of art. There was no regrets devouring this at 9am for us. Must try!!

Loved the vibes in this one. They closed down the street and have tents and patios for outdoor dining. I ordered the lemon crepe, not the best I’ve had it was kind of like eating a quesadilla. My friend ordered the strawberry one and it was kind of mushy as well. But I still think it’s a cute area to be around even if you order to go the beach is just up the street you can take your food and have a beach pic nic.

So let me tell you the food here is a really good delicious we like the chicken Panini sandwich with pesto was amazing the croissants was really good the Madeline’s were amazing as well the coffee was really good and nice and strong they have fresh squeezed orange juice and they have a lot of fresh and great looking pastries it’s a must stop by if you’re in Laguna Beach. The only thing I can recommend management it’s just maybe to put someone more inviting person in the front to kind of explain to you the menu and just because not everybody that goes into this restaurant has been there before and we don’t all live in Laguna Beach but I think that would be just the only recommendation everything else was really good the food came out fast and like I said I loved everything else about the location and there is outdoor seating so you could sit outside there’s a couple of locations with outdoor seating. The block is close to Traffic and passing cars And is decorated with great fall decorations.

The best cafe in Laguna Beach! Having spent much time in France, I can tell you that Moulin is as authentic as it gets. From the bread, pastries, and coffee to the French biscuits, cookies, and jam that they sell, Moulin is a little taste of France in a beautiful part of Laguna Beach. The staff is so friendly and willing to answer any questions you have about their offerings. The outdoor seating is a great addition to the café as well. I couldn’t get enough of this place while visiting Laguna Beach and will definitely be back on future visits!

Since lockdown began, the best outdoor coffee and croissant experience for many miles. Steamed Oat milk is always a coffee option for non diary consumers. Always a friendly atmosphere in a European Cafe style.

Lovely and warm interior with a lot of details, yet gives you an impression of pure simplicity. First of all, espresso is excellent, so is the Sportif bread...they come along perfectly by my taste. Pear and almond tart is really tasty, as well as all the pastry there is. I havent tried other cakes...yet...but I will be back for more, that is for sure! Feels more like Nice than Paris honestly, I dont see why people mix those two ;)

Phenomenal food! The chicken pesto sandwich and the tropozienne cake was delicious. Well worth the cost, highly recommend!

A little bit of Provencal France. A total joy and delight. If they have a Tropezienne, you must indulge. Very reasonable and friendly. A must stop at Laguna Beach and worth a journey. Salads, sweet & savory crepes, sandwiches and wines are also great.

Would have given this a 4 star if I did not find moldy raspberries in my meal, which was really disappointing. My friend did not enjoy her Latte and did not finish it although I liked my Cappuccino. Otherwise, the food and pastries are very good. Just wish they took more care of what they were serving. Also, weird that they don’t offer bananas or strawberries with their crepes.

Very unique spot, reminded me of Europe. Great sandwiches and coffee. There is a great seating area outside as well. Walkable to the beach, no street parking directly up front since it’s a Main Street blocked off which is nice for pedestrians.

This is one of my favorite places to have breakfast in Laguna Beach. Everything they serve is amazing.Today we went with French Toast and Quiche Lorraine and they were both delicious. The Mocha and the Cappuccino were equally tasty.In addition to breakfast they have lunch and a wide assortment of desserts.Do yourself a favor and visit this place. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic coffee and pastries, great place to stop by before or after going to the beach. Ordered the cafe au lait, coffee eclair, and almond croissant. The coffee eclair was basically an elongated cream puff, the coffee flavored cream was so flavorful but somehow very light. It’s not overpowering and not too sweet which makes it easy (and dangerous) to finish the whole pastry. The croissant also had an almond flavor which is difficult to find and was buttery all the way through.

Always a warm welcome as you come in. This place serves the best pastries (made in house) and simple French menu that anyone would love.Lines out the door are common but worth the wait.

I adore this spot! They give delicious dishes, their menu is nice, The chief cook in that spot is a professional, I like very much trying all their dishes. The food is consistently fresh and tasty, the service towards the visitors is very good too. I visit often this restaurant and I not even once was unhappy. I recommend it with no hesitation.

Part of the Moulin chain that is growing. This one is smaller and has less choices than the Newport Beach one. Disappointing on choices and quality. The croissant aux amandes was too sweet and the frangipane didnt see correct. I am afraid that quantity is taking over quality. I will give them another chance... Otherwise the restrooms are funny. Beware that you have the right to a maximum 5 minutes in there!

Highly recommended. While little bit pricey, it counts for a great experience, great employees. A decent, not large selection of french/European style sweets and food. The food is premiere classe. Vintage-ish decor, nice cozy. Definitively a must place to go when visiting Laguna Beach.

Big fan of Moulin Costa Mesa so I came to check it out. This is a smaller place so it did not have as much selection.

We visited this place while on vacation. The food is AMAZING. The croissant is so buttery and flaky it melts in your mouth. The Brioche was not overly sweet, the filling was delicious, the chocolate eclair was tasty, the filling was light and airy, and not to sweet. The Americanos were smooth and rich. The service was fast and friendly, everyone that helped us was French, a nice touch to the atmosphere. We stopped here twice while on vacation. Highly recommend!

I’m really not sure how this place has 4.5 stars. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because the customer service was good and the food was edible. We ordered 4 different things and a pastry. Everything was south of ok. They rely heavily on cheese and cream and not seasoning. I cannot stress enough how nondescript the food is. My mouth felt oily after. Wouldn’t recommend.

WAFFLES YO. Crispy outside, chewy inside. Amazing by itself, stupendous with jam or nutella. Ive never talked about a waffle experience before because Ive never had one till here.Edit: Went back to get my waffle fix today, 6/5/21, first time in like 2 years. THEY DONT SERVE WAFFLES ANYMORE. 😞 My entire reason for existence is questioned. They referred me to another place, but I was so distraught I couldnt hear it while the flashback montage was playing in my head. Oh well, gonna get tacos now.

Service was not really all that, tried to cancel a wrong order but couldnt because the order was in... 10 minutes later...the grilled cheese I didnt want.

Walked in on a busy night and a table in the lounge was available. I had the best spinach salad imaginable. Then the live jazz started. Then the prime rib arrived. Jazz plus prime rib I thought Id died and gone to heaven. I had to eat REAL slow to gain some momentum to finish my meal. The portion was generous, the cut was cooked nicely that I decided I was eating the whole thing. Potato, spinach and all. Damn I was full as rolly polly. Best part was the old money ambiance. The no nonsense honest to goodness steak house with dim lighting, dark wood and regulars just enjoying their night.

Excellent Crêpes and chocolat chaud. Almost fell home - only the weather is wrong and the staff lacks the french arrogance to be truly authentic. Food and service is superb!

The Saumon Aux Légumes is the best salmon I have ever had. Cooked perfectly around the edges and inside. Comes with asparagus and a side salad which is equally as delicious.

I was shocked, that instead of the owner, replying I apologize...we will look into and our goal is to make sure customers have a great experience...anything...like that...the owner responded to the customer with this remark:Response from the owner2 months agoHaters will always Hate.Next customer please.I was shocked! Very slow service

The best Almond croissants you will find in OC. As soon as you enter their little caffe, you will feel as you are in Europe. The greet you in French, smile and let you choose out of a great variety of delicious pastries. If you decide on a Nutella crape, you are in luck because they serve you authentic European Nutella not the very sweet and dull American version.

A little slice of French heaven! Great simple French comfort food and drinks, including crepes. My picky elderly mom cleaned her plate! And the staff greets you in beautiful French.

AVOID THIS PLACE. We visited it yesterday for lunch around 1:15. In a nutshell, very poor lunch items selection, very bad service, and food quality in relation to cost is very poor. Even their coffee (espresso) was well below a low average!Interestingly, this morning I heard from a friend who told me that they also went there for lunch and their experience was identical to ours. Ive been to other Moulin locations many times before (Laguna Beach and Irvine), and it has always been below average, at best. However, this new location appears to have opened without the necessary preparation and training.We will never go back to any Moulin, there are so many other cafes and coffee shops out there!THIS REVIEW WAS INTENDED FOR THEIR NEW LOCATION IN MONARCH BEACH!

We went there for the first time and were thoroughly impressed.From the start at the counter the service represented its high standards in every aspect of the business - friendly and professional. The food was impeccable and the coffee was great - tasteful and hot as it should be. Very well done!

As close to authentic French as you going to get in Orange County. The owner is Thoroughly French, half is wait staff are not only French but also gorgeous. But never mind that. The food is spot-on, the pastries are pretty darn good. Although I will say that theyre baguettes and croissants leave a bit more to be desired, however its still probably the best croissant in Orange County. The omelets are cooked just right, the chicken is to die for. Their drip coffee is even good.. dont bother to come here if youre just going to have a cold sandwich. Actually eat something off the menu and you will not be disappointed. This place is great for entertaining

Just walked up to the place in our leisure venture in Laguna. Walking in was a delight with all of the appetizing smells of a bakery, cafe and deli. Had a simple lemon crepe, croissant and a cappuccino. Delicious!

Easily one of my favorite brunch spot in OC! (they make the best omelets) It can get quite busy during weekend around noon so I’d recommend to go early. Also I’m no expert but I wish they have better tasting coffee.

Foods are delicious patisserie is amazing but unfortunately service is really disappointing. They did charge wrong 2 times. So I waited another 20 minutes. They’re such a lovely but quality of service highly under expectations. Like wifi didn’t connect they said I will send some to help but nobody came. Only one girl she is really knows what she is doing and is lovely too! I So except serving that’s really good place.

When I lived in SoCal, this was my off-day treat (I worked in retail which was killer). As Im from Europe originally, this was like a piece of home...or at least my childhood (we used to visit France a lot). The music, the service, the atmosphere... Perfect. I usually had the ham and cheese baguette with mustard, and a choco latte. Two thumbs up.

This is a popular little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Theres a selection of items, from sandwiches, desserts, pastries, salads, and breakfast. Prices are average and the staff is alright, theres not much beyond ordering, even for dine-in.I got the plain omelette, which comes with a side salad and a piece of bread. Overall the dish looks good...the food was the right temp. The eggs had seasoning, the salad had a dressing with very light flavor, and the bread was on the thicker side. I also tried two pastries, the almond croissant and the raisin swirl...both are okay but are a little tough, theyre not burnt, but just seem overcooked.Overall, this is a nice cafe to grab a brunch or lunch item.

Do you love French pastry, French culture and the French language? Any of those things? if so, youll enjoy a visit to Moulin. Definitely order bread or pastries. If youre hungry, order a meal. And dont forget coffee! BTW, its fine to order in English but if you speak French, they do, too.

Agreed with most reviewers, we have a great breakfast here. The atmosphere is good and the food is fresh. The pastry is excellent. Thats why it gets crowded all the time we were there.

I am a local I like this place sometimes, however I have had at least 3 occasions when I arrive at whats seems to me a perfect time for after dinner treat 7:00 to 7:15 PM, they are out of batter for the crape, now I understand this happening once maybe twice but this time the person said they stopped making them already cleaned the grill then the mgr come by and said We are out of batter I think Im getting the picture... They just want to start cleaning up early.. or they have no idea how to stock for their business..3 strikes you are out for me!

The chicken and mushroom omelette was decent but I felt the need to add pepper.The citron crepe was a new experience. The sugar added a granular texture which felt richer while not being too sweet. The whipping creme was thick like a soft vanilla ice cream. Very delicious.My favorite aspect is the environment. The rich darks of the wooden tables to the walls adorned with french memorabilia.

Firstly food is good, staff are rude and unhelpful. I asked to get my roll toasted and it was a straight no. My wife asked to get her croissant toasted and got another no. Furthermore i also ordered a tea, when it came down to my table it had no spoon or milk, when I asked for milk I was told to get it myself at self serve area. Disgraceful service, stay away..

Ive only been the one time to this new place, but intend to return. It seems a proper European grocery and cafe. Not cozy, but a great location, a patio, and an authentic experience. Had a pretty good cappuccino and tiny Danish pastry.

Great service and a nice lunch while in Laguna Beach for the day

Food here is pretty good.Came here one day for brunch with a friend. The restaurant is split into 2 sides, the restaurant and cafe on one side, and the bakery on the other side. We ordered the egg benedict and the Croque Monsieur to share, and both items were delicious. We polished off our plates pretty quickly. Theres a nice patio outside to sit and have food, which was nice. After having brunch and coffee, we decided we wanted to fulfill our sweet tooth, so we moved over to the bakery side and ordered some baked sweets. The tarts were good, but was overly sweet and the flavors were a bit lacking, and all the baked goods were extremely expensive, 3 items cost more than our 2 brunch entrees.Bathrooms are very clean, easy parking. I would definitely come back for the brunch but probably not the bakery.

New fresh restaurant on Forest Ave in Laguna Beach. Moulin is a very nice authentic French Restaurant. Well trained friendly staff are very, I mean very friendly. All healthy choices. Beautiful artful interior. You will love Moulin, I did.Some reviewers mention the prices are a bit high but come on, this is a very pricey area on the best street in Laguna Beach. Anyone visiting should expect a somewhat pricey menu for the experience and the time spent in this exceptional area of Southern California. We are talking the best.

Very experienced, amiable, and knowledgeable waiters. Pierre was excellent in refilling our Belgian beers and helpful in providing recommendations and non dominating entertainment. The happy hour food was a surprisingly good deal. The cheese croquettes were a crowd pleaser for our cheese loving family. But the bitterballen and bacon brie were hit or miss for our party, though I thoroughly enjoyed both! Lovely atmosphere in Laguna! Worth a try and definitely going back!
