Rented from 7/13-7/16.This trip was fraught with external complications, but the date had been picked 2 months in advance and it was going to happen one way or another. Now that its over I can definitively say: The easiest part of the whole experience was this trailer. You can check availability online, book online, etc. It was ready when it was supposed to be; freshly cleaned and fully stocked. I called two days before my scheduled pickup with a problem and these guys went way above and beyond to help me out.I volunteered to cook all the meals for the trip (5 people) and the stove/fridge made it a breeze. The kitchen area is well designed and comes with most of the basics youd need: pans, knives, cutting board, stick lighter, and so on.Charlie had a built in solar panel on slide-out tracks which gave me the confidence to run two fans all night (the trailers exhaust fan and a secondary 12V oscillating fan), a necessary comfort when camping in the Mojave in July. The mattress was comfortable, the canopy was sturdy, the trailer towed beautifully, and the staff was exceptional. I will undoubtedly be a returning customer. If you are on the fence about trying one of these out... do it... hopefully not on a weekend that I need it.
Nice trailer. I did have high expectations and that will account for the 4 stars but it is what it is. First, the experience with the trailer was great. What makes the 4 star review is that I did not get the 30 gallons of water I was promised. I got maybe 5 gallons. I ran out of water in the middle of the desert. Next is the cleanliness. If Im getting charged $65 for acleaning fee, then I expect a clean trailer. The trailer I got was nasty to be nice. The kitchen area was disgusting. But I was taking the trailer to the desert so, it is was it is. And last, the guys helping me were complete jerks. It seemed I was interrupting them from important things like talking shop talk and jerking around. Im sorry but Im a paying customer and i think I should come first. Sorry I interrupted your grabassing and shop talk. Other than that, a good experience. The guy directly helping me was awesome, (sorry forgot your name.) and helpful. Get some good employees Off the grid rentals!
What a great time we had! Spent 3 nights with the tear drop trailer. Started at the Salton Sea, through Borrego Springs and then onto San Onofre. It was perfect for all occasions. We didnt rent the optional fridge but it held our ice chest perfectly. Will definitely be looking at renting one for our next trip.
Outstanding company. Very professional. Even with the current world they Accommodated my wife and I. Highly recommended.
We rented the OTG trailer and rooftop tent, these guys were great. Scott was a pleasure to work with, made everything simple and a great can do attitude. Thank you for a great experience Scott. 5 stars and highly recommended.
Very easy to rent, very easy to pull, slept two just fine, we rented in the winter time, temps where in the low 30s, so bring a heavy Sleeping bag if your going to go to a cold area, not much insolation in these things.Very easy to pack up, made our trip much nicer then with out it.Cost of rental is no more then staying in your average hotel.Rebel Off Road handles all the details of delivery and drop off, they are very professional and easy to work with.I would say dont call Off the Grid, just text them, they will respond very quickly to your texts, I never could reach them on the phone when I tried calling, but that may have just been bad timing on my part but they where quick to respond to my text, less then 10 minutes.I would rent one of these again, very nice.
Easy to do business with. They were very accommodating to my scheduling needs. Helped me pick up the trailer and even loaned me some missing components. I am very pleased and would highly recommend. The trailer is pretty awesome. Rented the off road tear drop. I had people at my campsite wondering over to ask me about it.
Enjoyed the trailer which was just perfect for our trip. Scott at Rebel Off Road was a lot of help and got us on our way. I will definitely do it again.
Easy rental reservation and payments online through their site. Be sure to select he rental location nearest you as they have multiple sites with differing rental selections. Very friendly and profession staff at the pickup location. Only downside was there parking lot was completely full of monster off-road trucks. Had to park away down the street. This time I only rented one of their ARB Fridge/freezer. It was in good condition and did the job over the week I used it. For my next trip I hope to rent one of their camping trailers or roof top tents.
Awesome trailer and an overall great experience with the rental. My entire neighborhood and most of the folks at the campground had to stop to take a look and ask a bunch of questions about it. Very cool.
No brainer....great rig and outstanding customer service. Threw in a solar panel for free and let me keep it an extra night when I extended my trip because I was having so much fun!! You cant even tell you are pulling the trailer, even on dodgy BLM land. No dust inside, no rattles, no breaks on a 6800 mile road trip. Solar panel keeps the battery charged with a fridge plugged in all the time.....if you can find water you can truly be off the grid indefinitely. Enjoy.
I hadnt thought about renting a trailer to camp. Then I saw the teardrop trailer & thought, wow, those are cool. But thats way more than I would ever need to camp. Or so I thought.1st, the online reservation & rental form was super easy. I was even able to watch videos on how to use everything in & on the trailer. Very helpful for a camp trailer novice.2nd, picking up the trailer from Sierra Expeditions in Mesa, AZ was super easy & took much less time than I expected. Wil at Sierra Expeditions gathered some quick details from me & then set about connecting the trailer to my vehicle. Ive never connected anything to my vehicle as well as Wil connected the trailer and wiring to it. Wring secured with zip ties where needed, security chains in place. I was truly impressed. Wil then explained some specific features in more detail & then answered all my questions with expert knowledge.3rd, towing the trailer was incredibly easy. Climbing the hills from Phoenix to Payson, it didnt feel like I was towing anything. My vehicle performed virtually the same. The big 35 inch tires ate up all the bumps. When crossing a cattle guard I didnt even feel it. Wow.4th, as comfortable as my bed at home. Which says a lot. The comfort of the mattress & having brought my own bed linens (they provide a set if you do need them) and pillows, I slept just as well as I do at home as I did in the trailer. Exiting & entering the trailer is super easy as there are large locking doors on both sides that make getting in and out easy. Open the door, slide your feet out to your flip flops on the fender. The door opens a full 180 degrees & will stay in place. With the roof top fan and sliding windows with screens I stayed perfectly comfortable throughout both nights. The second night I also stayed dry. While my buddies were floating around in their tents on their air mattresses, I was warm and dry with my phone charging in the USB port while listening to the built in stereo.5th, cooking is easy. While I didnt opt to get the portable refrigerator as I already have one in my vehicle, I found that the location of it was perfect. The ARB 45 quart refrigerator/freezer has held a week of perishable food for me without having to deal with ice or leaky coolers. If you dont have a portable refrigerator/freezer, opting for one is highly recommended, even if its just to keep the beer cold. Make life easy! I did not use the stove, but I did connect it and test it to see how well it worked. Setup took about 90 seconds and with the propane tank on the side and extra fuel in the storage area under the mattress, you wont be running out of fuel anytime soon. I liked the higher than normal prep surface/counter. I made coffee via French press and Jetboil there each morning and made less of a mess than I usually do at home. Plenty of storage and they provide pots and pans, paper plates, plastic utensils, a cutting board and helpful cooking implements. With plenty of storage room to bring your own if you wish too. There is also a super bright LED at the back that lets you see everything youre preparing and cooking. I liked that the LED had two levels of brightness so when done cooking you can dim it down.6th, messy & wet items have a storage place of their own! A clever metal cage is placed at the front of the trailer that I used for firewood which allowed me to keep my vehicle and the trailer free of those annoying bugs & debris that always falls off the firewood. I also placed a gasoline jerry can inside so I didnt have to carry it in my vehicle or in the trailer. When packing up to head home, its the perfect spot to put the soaking wet camp chairs so they will dry out.But the most important thing I can mention is how much more relaxed I was all weekend. I didnt have to deal with any off the stress of having to unload a tent from the car, find a spot to set it up, I just parked. My camp was setup! When it was time to go home, toss the chairs in the box and go! Drop off with Wil. So easy. So relaxing, so stress free! I would so rent again!
Awesome place to rent a roof top tent
If youre debating it, DO IT.Camping with OTG has been quite an incredible experience. As an avid outdoorsman and camper, I thought I would give this little trailer a try on my adventures to Zion National Park. I picked up the trailer and the guys there are super helpful. They gave me a tour of the trailer and taught me how to use all of the equipment including the rooftop tent (which comes separately). Everything is easy to use and very self explanatory for those concerned with this trailers complexities. If youre lucky enough to catch the owner, Nizar, hes a super cool guy. Like myself, he too is an avid adventurer and is extremely passionate about the overland lifestyle.Towing this trailer on my 6 hour drive was easy. Its light, compact, and you may even forget its behind you. Just drive cautiously because everyone on the road around you is distracted by your rig and wishing they were you!Setting up camp has never been so fast! This trailer is equipped with a kitchenette area, a stereo, and sleeps 4 comfortably if you get the rooftop tent (2 without it). It didnt take very long after pulling into the campsite for all of our neighbors to come by requesting a tour.Connecting and disconnecting is easy and it can be taken along on day trips or left behind locked up. We took it with us on a detoured off-roading trip and this thing can hang with the big boys off road!I HIGHLY recommend renting Off The Grid. Booking is made easy on the website too.Happy adventuring, adventurers!
