South Africa plays second to none when it comes to foods, and spices, and sauces, etc.Unfortunately, for me, I am in Arizona, so I’m still about a 6 hour drive from this shop, but the online purchasing experience and shipping has been amazing. My purchases come in a timely manner and it is always impeccably wrapped, packaged and protected. They take great care in your items when they ship them out.

Im a South African expat living in the US and I am grateful for having a store here in the US where I can buy the things I miss form home.Yes, it does take a while to get orders shipped so be prepared for a bit of a wait, and yes some of the items are not as cheap as what they are in South Africa.But one needs to understand that these are imported goods now and and all good things comes to those who wait.I ordered a variety of goods from them including some very fragile Easter eggs and everything arrived here in good order, no complaints!

I ordered on a Friday night, with the July 04th weekend impending. So I expected some delays, naturally. However, I received the products in good time (a week later) and more importantly excellent condition. Whoever packed my goods, took such great care (as if they loved their business, and cared for good customer service). Everything was orderly and beautifully packaged. I was on skype call with family in SA while opening the package, haha. so we all had a good time seeing everything and feeling a little nostalgic (at least for me). I did take a chance on a few close to expiry date items like samp and maize meal (bought several bags at 70% off). I received them and they were in outstanding condition. I attributed this to African Huts good temperature environment/conditions for storage. I will be buying from them again. And from now on, I wont bother with trying to haul suitcases loaded with this stuff from SA to USA. Thanks for the convenience African Hut :)

Horrible service and processing times! Placed an order on 12/3, and it took 3 weeks to receive my order (the shipping address is about 1 hours drive away from their store, so it is not like it had to come across the country). After 10 days, I contacted them and they did not even know if the order had been prepared for shipment ....... shocking that after 10 days a company who offers an online service is not able to process an order for shipment when they have the inventory on hand in the store! They tried to blame USPS which was nonsense - the point being that 10 days after placing an order they had still not prepared it for shipment, which has nothing to do with USPS ........ There are other online stores that offer South African and British products - I will be using one of those in the future.

Beware of ordering from this company! 3rd world business practices in a 1st world country.My soda cans arrived dented and drained empty. At first I thought it was the fault of USPS that the box and contents were crushed. And ruined sodas are hardly a big deal in the scale of things.But then I noticed African Hut had just put 12 aluminum cans that can easily be crushed by hand in a box with ZERO padding, bubble wrap, protection! And the ‘return policies’ are so cumbersome that I bet very few customers even bother. And then their automated response to my emailed pics of the damage was that they have an unprecedented rush and “we have customers are lined up waiting to check out in the store”. So our response to you will be delayed.That made me laugh my face off. An in-store business boom during spiking coronavirus in CA. How lucky compared to depressed in-store business everywhere else. Excuse my incredulity.

Our first order of SA goodies from African Hut arrived today. Everything was well packed and in good order. Excellent service, will be a regular from now on. Recommended.

Interesting variety of food and knickknacks but the shelves were a little bare, even this long after the holidays. Words of warning: The shopping center where the store is, is almost impossible to find and difficult to navigate. Good luck.

I was so happy to finally go to this store. The store is clean and they have a good variety of South African products.The reason I didnt give a five star is because the customer service wasnt the best. I called the store before getting out of my car, I couldnt see the store. I had driven past it. I called to ask for the suite number and the lady instantly cut me off and with a rude tone, she just kept repeating the directions.The customer service was off before I even made it into the store. Needless to say, I was very disappointed besides that the store is nice and has great products.

This is the best place I have found for imported products. Excellent !!!

We come here for the occasional biltong fix. Everytime weve shipped here the staff has been unfriendly to indifferent at best. So many things on the shelves are expired or close to it.

Pathetic shipping times

I ordered borewores for next day delivery. Not sure if these guys understand what next day means. I havent received my order and apparently it hasnt shipped yet. Why would you charge me if you wont live up to your next day delivery promise? VERY DISSAPOINTING!!!!
