True American Grain has some beautiful woods for mantles, floating shelves and other projects. Their showroom staff is very friendly and helpful. The craftmanship of the cuts, wood staining and waxing is excellent. The transparency of the pricing is where there is room for improvement. The price per foot, per cut, and finishing of the wood was not published anywhere in the shop we we bought our shelves and mantle. Additionally, there was no published price on the brackets hardware. It was also a source of frustration that the specifications for size and weight of the board supported by each brackets is not available in print either. Finally, it would be great if they quoted installation with the wood as that can often double the price of your purchase as it is a complex process. I do recommend shopping at True Grain for shelves and mantles that can be a beautiful addition to a home but please do yourself a favor and ask for the complete quote for a finished product, hardware and installation before you commit to buying. And please ask for specifications on the bracket hardware before you buy those as well. They are quote expensive so make sure you get the right ones to properly support your reclaimed wood accents for your home. We love our floating shelves and our mantle. We just wish we knew the full scope and price of the project going into it so we could budget and prepare.

Super happy with this product and the customer service provided. I was going to way over order the product and sales staff helped me get a more accurate estimate of product needed. We ended up with a little extra rather than a bunch of extra due to their expertise. The product is beautiful! We had help installing from a relative with some construction experience who had a great time installing this product. Highly recommend. End result is beautiful! I have been buying wood from TAG for years. They have the best selection of reclaimed wood in Southern California! You can find anything and everything you need here! They have hardwoods, beams, skins and they also do custom work! I have always found their staff to be friendly, helpful and insightful. They always ask what project I am working on and provide me with ideas to help me get the right wood for the job. They can help with the design and make sure you get the right look you are going for.I have seen a lot of the reclaimed wood shops in Orange County and in LA and True American Grain has the best wood out there! They are also very competitively priced and work with you to make you happy. Great team! Great customer service and a great operation!

I’m leaving 2 stars because their customer service is unprofessional and non accommodating. The date of my scheduled installation, Rhiana told me that she had lost my appointment. Instead of doing everything she could to make this mistake better, she had attitude and unprofessional responses. To quote her exactly she said, “your guilt trip won’t help speed up the installation.”After emailing the owner TWICE about this unfortunate experience and receiving NO RESPONSE, I thought any potential new customers should know how this company treats some of their clients.Their product is amazing. Couldn’t be happier with the craftsmanship and beautiful installation. Angel did an amazing job making sure I was happy with the product. But, what good is work if the customer service doesn’t support it? These 2 need to go hand in hand and overall I’m very unhappy with my experience with True American Grain.

What a fantastic experience we had at True American Grain Reclaimed Wood! Gennie was so amazing and patient with us. They had a great selection of reclaimed wood. We chose a beautiful piece for our mantel and had it installed in about 10 days. We were so impressed! The two men (Angel & Cido) who installed it ran into a few obstacles but kept at it until it was completed. Very professional! Great experience dealing with True American Grain.Met with Teresa & Genie upon arrival. Brought a photo of a mantel I liked. Tom came out to measure being it was an L shape fireplace. After 4 weeks, Angel and Ciro installed the mantel which was a bit of a challenge over my stone fireplace. They cleaned up as if they were never here. We bought a hand-hewn log for our mantle and it’s gorgeous. The woodwork is fantastic, and the installation was excellent. It’s not cheap, but worth every penny. These guys are the real deal!

We had them make a walnut box mantel for our fireplace. It turned out great. We needed to make a modification after we realized an issue and they did it with no questions asked. It turned out very nice.

If you want a beautifully hand crafted item made from reclaimed wood this is the place! We did a fireplace makeover and after ordering and returning 4 different mantles i found this company and got exactly what we needed. It wasnt that much more expensive than the pre-made ones and well worth it.

They built a dresser and bed with built in storage. Amazing workmanship, attention to detail and follow up. Enjoying both custom designed pieces. Highly recommend!!!!

I want to start by saying that my experience with True American Grain is the most pleasant Business to Business relationship Ive had to date. I commonly find myself discouraged by a dismal lack of true personable interaction when dealing with modern businesses both big and small, but TAG stands as a beacon in the fog. Collin spared no gesture in welcoming me with the warmth and kindness of an old friend - it was evident from the very beginning that he genuinely cared not only about my business but my happiness with the final product. Collins communication and patience as a business owner is a breath of fresh hair, but it certainly doesnt hurt that he is simply an exemplary human being and an absolute pleasure to be around!Browsing TAGs expansive and beautiful collection of reclaimed timbers was a delight in itself. But the real magic happened when I finally came upon the pieces that spoke to me for my project.
