E46 M3 smg to manual conversion and rod bearings done. Extremely satisfied! Friendly staff and answered any questions i had. Hope to do business again. Mind you I live 4hrs away and glad I didnt take it somewhere else. Thank youπ
I took my bmw m5 for repairs, I had about 10 things it needed including an oil change. After 2 visits I had my oil change done and a car appraisal, I didnβt ask for there appraisal. I guess they only work on good running cars! They canβt fix them when they need repairs they give you an appraisal. Strange but true.
An amazing shop that does it all. From regular maintenance to parts fabrication and engine rebuild and repair. Ed is very down to earth and the whole team is very knowledgable.
Brought my 2005 Carrera S to the team at Lang Racing Development with what turned out to be worn out shocks. They diagnosed the car thoroughly (by driving it with me and getting it up on the lift) and wrote me a quote same day. After approving the work, they got the parts in quickly and within 3 days I had a refreshed car back thats better than ever. They suggested parts that matched my stated objectives and my budget. The process was consultative instead of prescriptive, which I appreciate. Im so happy with the end result and am glad to have found a shop that is both experienced and trustworthy.
For me, itβs worth the 70 mile drive to work with a team and owner who are true masters of their craft. Iβve recently worked with them on my SMG to manual conversion and moving forward I consider myself a lifetime client of theirs for anything my car needs. Iβm a firm believer in you get what you pay for and can tell you first hand that the team at Lang Racing Development is simply a cut above anyone else. Check out Lang Racing Development, this establishment sets the benchmark for how the repair and service experience should be.
Lang Racing did a fabulous job building me a new engine for my e46 M3. I had my engine blow on the track and was able to ship the car to LA and the team and Lang did a great job in providing me a new engine. They have deep experience in building S54 engines and I trusted them completely with my baby and the results did not dissapoint. Thanks for great work and service!
Needed a last min alignment before a track event on my ND2 Miata. They did the alignment to my specs and got me in and out fast. Very reasonably priced too. Will be back.
Good guys, They do quality work and are very helpful and honest. They were willing to work with me and understand the issues I was having with the vehicle. They will go the extra mile to make sure you are happy.Their pricing is straightforward, no surprises at the end. They have a really nice system that allows you to text them and view pictures of issues and view/approve quotes from them all form your phone.. Makes the entire process really easy.Definitely will be coming back.
Great customer service. Kept me well informed. Will use again
A++ shop. Would recommend to anyone looking for quality work and great customer service.Backstory, I brought my hubs into the shop to get extended studs pressed in about a month ago. The techs were super friendly and literally stopped what they were doing to take care of me. I knew I would be back for an alignment based off of the service I received that day. I had also read good things about Lang Racing in a car forum so I was confident in their quality of work.Fast forward to today, I dropped my car off for an alignment and had some specs in mind. Jonathan took detailed notes on my requests and the techs were able to execute. Based off of my results, I am very pleased with their work once again. Racing is their passion and it really shines. It was awesome to feel welcomed at Lang and I will definitely be using them in the future. Highly recommend π
10/10 ratingCame here for a basic diagnostic and head light fix in my f30 328 BMW, everyone was very friendly, solid customer service and they seemed very knowledgeable. They fixed my issue same day, very rapidly, gave me very fair pricing and very pleasant and friendly. Also had my brakes replaced and got amazing, fast, quality and fair priced service next day !Iβve had a friend refer me this shop, he had themwork on his e39 M5 and e63 M6 and he said same thing, he was very impressed with service, and pricing.Seems like a great, reliable, honest (hard to find) BMW shop in south OC. Highly recommended and Iwill be back ! Thank you
If you want a shop that knows BMWβs more than BMW come here! I took the drive up form San Diego to take care of a vanos rebuild and rod bearings on my e46 M3 and couldnβt be more happier with their service. Jonathan was helpful all along and explaining things in detail when needed. Very professional and will recommend and be back for future work. Thanks Guys!Eddie B.
Customer service was excellent. Everything was explained in great detail with photos. They really are the BMW experts with competitive pricing.
These boys are true technicians and auto-artists! They took extra care with my very intricate exhaust modification wiring system. Super clean install boys! Now my M5 screams like a race car at the push of a button. Thank you!
I like the way they serve customers. Proactive but not pushy. I went there for the brake services and the oil change. They found out actually both front and rear brakes were bad and even took the pictures of wear out sensors. The price was fair. I told them I want use BMW genuine pads since I had hard time with non genuine pad before. They listened and adjusted the quote accordingly without too much increase in price.LRD also found my car leaking in coolant and oil. I knew about the oil leaks but not the coolant. They also provided pictures for the leaks. Fixed the coolant leaks but leave the oil leaks along. Car drove great after their great works!
Very informative, extensive knowledge, and amazing knowledge for everything all things BMW-related, but not limited to. The guys at Lang do it right and their price is very reasonable. I got my VANOS rebuilt by Andrew and recently I got some axle work done by the other Andrew. Highly recommend.
Great experience as expected from friends recommendations and previous personal contact. Jonathan had some good stories and Charlie the Wonder Dog was a friendly mascot. New shop is looking good.
Amazing customer service. Superior knowledge of engine building, parts fabrication and suspension tuning. I live in Texas and chose Lang Racing to build me a custom S54, have my subframe reinforced, suspension tuned, Carbon Fiber roof install among MANY other things for my BMW E46 M3. Ive driven my car all the way to California twice just to have Lang Racing work on my car - I wont take it to any other shop. The only people who work on my car is the staff at Lang Racing and I.
I needed my clutch replaced and Andrewβs team did a great job. They worked around my schedule, were open and transparent when answering my questions, and the price was very reasonable. I look forward to bringing my e90 to the shop again for any future upgrades or repairs.
Awesome customer service! I have been going here for several years now(E30, 951, E36 and now E46) and LRD never disappoints. Their knowledge and skill sets are world class! Just completed a SMG to 6SPD manual swap in my E46 M3 and totally transformed this car! Highly recommend LRD for anyone with a Porsche or BMW.
Not only do I get great customer service, it gives me peace of mind to bring my car here knowing that it will be well taken care of.
Took my E92 M3 here for an oil change and everyone including the owner was extremely nice. They are genuin and honest and dont force maintenance on you. Will be coming back for future work
One of the VERY few shops in south Orange County that can do a custom alignment on BMW E30s with the eccentric hardware in the rear subframe, Ground Control Coilovers and race camber/caster plates. Owners are very friendly and have a friendly dog that cruises around. Price is a little steep at $250 for a 4 wheel alignment with all adjustments but itβs way more involved than your typical alignment on a BMW. Those eccentric bolts are an absolute pain to get to. Highly recommend their shop for work.
E46 M3 Had a clutch pedal that had stiction in the travel. Thought I might need a new clutch but Lang diagnosed a bad clutch slave cylinder as the culprit. Saved me a bunch of money. Honest people that you can trust. Highly recommended.
One of the best experiences I have ever had Andrew was the most helpful person I have ever meet was with me every step of my build. My s54 now runs great and its all thanks to him thanks Lang Racing and Andrew
This is my go to place for maintenance/repairs for my everyday car X3. I let them know what I need and they always fix it at a reasonable price. Easy to make an appointment to drop off your car, everyone is friendly, they always give me details on what they did and answer any questions I might have.
Master mechanics for all Euro cars with full of knowledge
Andrew, Jonathan and all of the staff at Lang Racing Development have restored my faith in finding an honest auto repair shop. At the last shop I took my car I was charged nearly a grand for a vacuum leak which was halfway addressed by replacing one hose in the fuel line on my 2004 BMW 330ci.With LRD, Ive gone through two separate projects and Ive yet to hit the thousand dollar mark yet. The first project they completed on my car was in replacing all of the hoses on my CCV system, and the second was in replacing my tie rods and getting an alignment. The beauty of it all was the awesome treatment that I received after the second project. I wasnt quite satisfied with my steering on my car, so I brought it back the next day, and one of the staff members, Andrew, spent an extra 3 hours on my car inspecting why the steering was off and he discovered that when I did my own repairs, namely replacing the front control arms and the sway bar links, I didnt have the nuts screwed on tight enough. He also found a socket that I left behind on the nut of the front control arm. And Jonathan put those hours Andrew spent fixing my own goofs gratis. I couldnt have been treated any better. All of the guys are fun to talk to and easy going. Theyre all straight up and transparent and honest with their process. Its a very admirable approach and I am sincerely grateful for the relationship that I was able to build with them.
These guys know what there doing, they provide very fast good work, and they keep well informed with your car.
Great technician and customer service plus competitive price will be the only place to service my x3
I am an international customer (from Russia), and an owner of BMW M3 E46. Ive been using different companies for my track project - Turner Motorsport, Bimmerworld, VAC, among others, but so far Lang Racing and Andrew Lang in particular have been best in terms of customer support. Andrew is always in touch helping to save time and money on spare and tuning parts. For me expensive shipping has been always an issue, and Andrew managed to find best options for delivery. Last time he even went by himself to bring my package to Hawthorne (50 miles away from Irvine). I really recommend Lang Racing for true petrolheads and car enthusiasts!
The only place I will take my E46 M3 for service. Andrew and his team know these cars inside and out. They do everything from minor maintenance to full race builds. They are also keenly aware of the E46s pitfalls and how to identify and fix them if need be(rear subframe/vanos/rodbearings) Had them lock my vanos down with Beisan systems last year. This past week I had them change oil/trans/diff fluids as well replace a rear sway bar bracket i didnt know was missing. My cars running great. These guys are the premier BMW specialists in orange county and actually part of the reason I bought an my car
These guys have always taken care of me!! I bought my M3 for the driving experience it brings so why not take it to a shop that matches its performance? These guys are the best in Orange County, and I would take my care here over a dealer any day of the week.
As the owner of a high-mileage E46 M3, major maintenance tasks are an inevitable reality. As much as I love working on my car, there are simply some jobs too technical or unsafe to perform without specialized training and expensive equipment. When the SMG hydraulic transmission pump on my car died, I opted to convert the car to a true six speed manual since it was significantly cheaper than replacing the SMG (not to mention that the SMG would only fail again in the future). Few shops are equipped to handle such an intensive undertaking because the bellhousing on the SMG transmission must be machined to accept the stick shift assembly. If the machining is done incorrectly, then the driver will have trouble finding the gears and can possibly damage the transmission. After much research on M3 forum and other enthusiast websites, I discovered Lang Racing. This was the best shop choice I could have ever made for such a sensitive undertaking. When you first walk in, you know you are in the right place since there are E46 Ms all over the place being worked on. Andrew Lang (the owner) was particularly helpful in that he provided a comprehensive itemized parts list (with prices included) for all services so that you knew EXACTLY what you were paying for. His prices are very reasonable and often within prices charged by major parts suppliers such as ECS tuning. Also, he WILL price match and is open for reasonable negotiation. This was particularly helpful for me because, since my car was already disassembled for the manual conversion, I could largely do other preventative maintenance jobs for just the cost of the parts since the labor was overlapping.Ultimately, Lang Racing converted my car to manual, installed a new clutch and related parts, and installed a new oil pump and rod bearings. The car drives great as a true manual and I will definitely be back at Lang Racing for any specialty work in the future. Thanks Andrew!
