My family has shopped at The Forest Bootery for over 10 years. The last several visits to the store have been so disappointing that we will be taking our business elsewhere. The store used to have such pretty window displays in years past, but lately it looks like they are making no effort at all. This is a prime location in Market Square in Lake Forest and their windows look like a store might be going out of business. They dont have merchandise displayed well and the display area is dirty. The manager of this store is rude and makes inappropriate comments. On many occasions he has made me feel so uncomfortable that I have left the store. Last week while shopping there, a customer asked the manager, I believe his name is Chris, to put on his mask. He loudly announced that he was wearing one and held up his wrist which had a mask wrapped around it. Then he made some type of negative comment about the Governor loudly enough that everyone in the store could hear him. It would be appropriate for the employees of this store to wear a mask due to the mandate that is currently in place. Some of their customers, like myself, might appreciate the extra precaution because of compromised health. We like to support the local businesses in town and have given the Bootery a lot of business over the years. We have found that they dont typically have the sizes we are looking for. I tried on several pairs of shoes recently and they did not have any of them in my (very common) size. It makes me feel so disappointed that my recent visit to the store was so unpleasant that it will be my last after over 10 years of shopping there. It is no longer a business we want to support and that is mainly due to the rudeness of the manager.
I walked in and asked if I could measure my shoe size. The owner tells me I can’t measure my shoe size and staff is extremely rude and disrespectful. I would not recommend buying from this place at all.
So much more than great shoes! Recommend for kids fitting, finding trendy womens clothing or accessories & fun finds for guys.
I agree with the other reviews that the staff is rude and short.
I’ve been here several times and purchased shoes for me and my family. Every time I walk in the employees are very short and seem a little snooty. However, today I came in an was trying on Rainbow sandals. The manager or whoever he was came over to me and said and I quote “aren’t you getting a little old for those?” I could not believe this man would say something that to a customer or even a lady for that matter. It doesnt matter your age, if you like a shoe then get them! And for some clarity I am in my 20s... I didn’t know there was an age for shoes. It’s safe to say I walked out and I will never be back in there again. Horrible experience and very rude people!!!! :(
Rare to find a store these days with the mix of quality merchandise and friendly staff. Enjoyed my first visit there
This place is worst service ever the manager is very rude not to mention way over priced and products look used
Great selection
