Unprofessional! Told to come back to the store to replace a (new) speaker that didn’t work (??)…Came in an hour later just to be told they don’t have it! It would be helpful if they check first if they have equipment in stock before telling you to come in to replace it - I drove half an hour for nothing. While I was on the phone with the friend who purchased the speaker one of the staff members rolled his eyes after overhearing my friend saying he wanted to talk to the store manager. Soooooo unprofessional!! This is EXACTLY when your customers should be talking to the manager… Learning how to troubleshoot and to be more professional would be more helpful then rolling your eyes.
That is my favorite GC store. I want to thank Mr. Ralph Higgs for repairing my guitar so quickly. Outstanding service quality.
I bought a great Cordoba Baritone ukulele at this store that looks, feels, and sounds *amazing*. Unfortunately, one of the strings snapped. I bought a new set online to be delivered to the store, which came quickly, and when I went into the store to pick them up, Andrew P was EXCELLENT. Super friendly, very efficient, and when I asked if he could put the strings on for me, since I never had before, he happily obliged and did a fantastic job. Above and beyond service, and I will definitely be returning for my future music needs.
Never had a problem. People working here were always respectful and friendly. Lots to choose from. Rooms to try out stuff in. When I say always... I mean the three times Ive been here... Prior to this whatever you want to call it. I dont take any responsibility for this post... Post Pandemic. It has made people NUTS! So........
Very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating staff every time I have been here.
Great customer service! One of my guitar strings snapped and one of the pieces fell on the inside, so I went in for a repair. A very nice and friendly employee named Ralph helped me out, and he got it done in no time. Highly recommend both this location and Ralph.
Great options but the staff will try and sell anything the customer is looking at instead of taking the time to focus on the customers needs. They should get paid hourly instead of by how many sales they make. I choose to support local music stores that dont act like a bunch of annoying salesmen the second you walk in the door. Or get ignored because all the staff are busy with online orders. Not saying its the staffs fault, just how ownership has it set it up.
Garrett was extremely knowledgeable and professional and truly respectable and kind person. Truly had a great experience guitar center I mean I always do but this man was a very special man he helped me grab all that I needed with patience and Grace while taking care of other people as well
BEST GUITAR REPAIR HERE!!!Guitar tech Ralph Higgs fixed and set up my electric guitar incredibly well, and even did it right in front of me in one sitting because I asked! He’s an incredible guitar tech, engineer, and amazing guy. I would recommend anyone and everyone to go to Ralph for all guitar repair needs!!!
Totally awesome every room had many choices of instruments. Many extras for my equipment. Totally stoked me at checkout loaded equipment in truck. Employees way helpful & knowledgeable.
I went there to try out some electric drum sets. They were all clean. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. The only issue was that some of the triggers were worn on some of the cymbals. Mainly the E-hi hats not closing and rides not working. You cant really blame the store for that though. I would really love it if they put double kick pedals on some of the drum sets. I look forward to going there again!(UPDATE)I went back again to try the Alesis Strike Pro kit, but the entire drumset was unplugged and control panel thingy was gone. Still pretty good, but the drum set stuff is getting pretty unorganized.
If you are in need of a new guitar, come here! I was roaming around the store, unsure of what to buy but also nervous to ask questions about what to look for, luckily Andrew P graciously helped me the entire time! He walked me through serval models, and played a few of my fave songs until I actually figured out what I wanted! This is my new go-to spot for my guitar needs!!!!
Great friendly service! They went out of their way to help me. Very happy with my new guitar and the fantastic price!
Great inventory and expert staff. But slow checkout. Long lines.
Ralph Higgs very kinda man, repair a string that I had previously snapped
Shelves are a little bare but the customer service is definitely there to supplement. They made me feel welcome with zero judgment on my lack of skill. Very informative and unbiased
Theyre nice. We like checking out the drums
Good experience. No complaints. I took my electric bass in for repairs. Ill know in a couple of weeks if it is repaired correctly.
Believe the gentleman name is Andrew that help me out and the manager as well you know my mask kept falling off and but probably frustrating have it in tell your. Put back on does she want to have the kids running around and theres just a lot, hectic day theyre very calm collected and absolutely at the very minimal exceptional
Bought a great acoustic guitar with little to no effort. Sales rep got me all the gear I needed
Great selection and friendly employees.
Guitar, at times, can be a very scary thing...it is that powerful...and this place is full of them!
There were 10-15 customers in the store. The store was a pretty good size, so everyone was social distancing with room to spare. There were MANY employees ready to help anyone who had questions. The only flaw I found was that they had a very limited Ukulele section. There was only one Baritone Ukulele, 2 Tenor Ukuleles, a handful or Concert Ukes, and a few Sopranos.
Always a great place to get my musical needs met.
Great! I played percussion with another client, the experience was wonderful! Guitar Center is a good store!
This place and Ralph Higgs are awesome! I’ve been coming to this guitar center off and on over the last couple years. Everyone is really nice and knowledgeable. I love how they don’t try to upsell you on stuff that you don’t really need.Today, I came in to get my guitar worked on. The tuning pegs had come out. Ralph quickly took me in and fixed my guitar in less than 10 minutes. I thought this was going to be a multi day event, but I’m so glad I was able to finish it so fast. He was very friendly and made the experience so painless. Thanks Ralph!
I feel so good at all times.
6 string Hustler, back at it. I need to buy or set up a GC location. 🤘🏿🎸🤘🏿
Always good service and good people
Friendly staff! Their cymbal selection is lacking but also dont like that I cant try out the stuff since their demo selection is limited.
They are observing safety guidelines and kept us informed (during pandemic), which I really appreciate.
I love guitar center. The staff never gives you a hard time about trying out any of the instruments or amps. They are super knowledgeable and friendly, always willing to answer questions and not afraid to give you their opinion. Ive never been sold something I didnt need and they always go out of their way to make sure Im getting the best bang for my buck. Dave is a great salesman and very helpful. He always goes the extra mile. Im excited to see the repair work they did on my fender bass.
I received superior service from Ralph Riggs. Honestly, I never write reviews, but that man is deserving. He worked on two guitars ~20 minutes and provided great advice on maintaining them. The man is a machine. When Im gonna turn my P-Bass into an A-Bass, you know Im gonna request his service.
This should have been posted awhile in January but oh well.We were looking to buy basic sound gear: mixer, speakers and microphones. A guy named Kit reached out to us and asked if he can help. I told him exactly what we needed and how much was in the budget. He showed us around and talked about the speakers and products. He helped us pick each item and was very attentive and asked questions like how big is the venue and such. The best thing of all was he mentioned he can give us a discount on the speakers we had because due to a price match another customer found. Wow! Instead of looking to sell them to us a full price, he told us we can get the discount. Thats service. Finally, he helped us checkout and load up. If Guitar Center wants to recognize AND promote someone, it should be Kit. He really did help us. Thanks Kit!
Went there to look something in particular and one of the employees that was helping me seemed like he didnt want to be there or just didnt want to help. Told me if the item wasnt on the general direction he pointed me to that they were out of stock.I checked the store inventory on the website and it said many of the same item type were available. I was actually going to order online for store pick up but I wanted to see the options in person. The Lake Forest location seemed like it just wasnt stocked at all, so many empty hooks.Left empty handed and had to go to a different location where I was helped properly.
This place is the best for guitar repair and needs. They have the best customer service and are very nice. If you ever need a repair go in and ask for The Doctor that man works mericles.
Have so many different instruments, the staff is amazing and they can repair anything.
My output jack was busted and I needed it fixed for a gig. Ralph Higgs helped fix my guitar and he had me out of there so quick. He was very friendly and helpful and fixed my guitar to perfect condition and now it sounds brand new!
Super helpful and knowledgeable staff. Though the COVID restrictions are in effect, the staff is very patient and personalize to each customer for as long as they need to answering all questions without feeling rushed. Jackson in particular helped me tremendously answering all my burning questions and went above and beyond to ensure I knew what I wanted! I highly recommend this Gituar Center location!
Sold me a product that was incomplete and were unable and unwilling to rectify the situation. Complete waste of time. Manager was unfriendly and incompetent.
Always new personnel...Lots of damaged merchandise, poor stock on hand/same stuff in the same spots months later...weak, compared to the selection in other stores like Fountain Valley. Many acoustics are locked up? Theyre in a room? Thats enough security/theyd have to walk through the store, past the cash register to steal it!!? Very slow at cash register, mega slow. Guitar tech is good but about 3 week turnaround. Sadly, this is what we get in South OC. Ive left many times and found what Im looking for at the FV store.
Great place, the repair artist Ralph Higgs is the best, great quality repairs and goes the extra mile for you!
I took my electric in for some minor repairs and the guy that helped me, Ralph Higgs, made it a super fast and convenient process. Ralph is the man!
Guys are super helpfull and easy going. Listen to your needs and come through!
Great staff and good selection
I needed new guitar strings and Dave is amazing!
Great staff, good selection of great equipment. If youre not sure exactly what to get, theyre very helpful. I you know exactly what you want, they leave you to check it out. Prices are more competitive than ever. Its best to play it before you buy. Guitar Center over online shopping 100%
Unfortunately the wait was long due to the safety precautions against Covid. It was worth it. The associate was well versed in equipment and prices. She was also very nice, very fast.
Its a big store but even with so many employees I was kept waiting .
Very helpful. Nice people. Good service. Love the Bose speakers. Just bought a cordless microphone.
Excellent service. Great selection of instruments and reasonable rates for lessons. Many lesson days/times available with the pros!
Great prices. Great variety of guitars
Rude employees ruining my experience and day:(
Jake was extremely professional and knowledgeable thank you for hiring such an employee Guitar Center
The guitar center manager Chris sold me this guitar with an unplayable neck ($1,500 Les Paul). I am no expert in guitars and I felt like I was severely taken advantage of by the employees at this store. The picture shows how the neck looks after it was supposedly set up by the tech at Lake Forest. I took it to Fountain Valley GC and they told me the neck was warped, the action was terrible, and it was all dried out. They couldnt believe it was ever sold in the first place, let alone set up by a GC tech. After a 30 min setup from a Fountain Valley tech the guitar looks and plays beautiful. Either the store manager at Lake Forest is too incompetent to know what a decent guitar is, or he took advantage of a customer and got away with selling a bum guitar. I should have inspected the guitar more before walking out of the store, but I guess I was being very naive by trusting the expertise of the Lake Forest store manager, customer service manager, and head guitar salesman (all who helped me with this guitar). Funny how employees at a different store instantly recognized the flaws in this guitar and somehow none of the employees at Lake Forest notice...
Where else can you buy a guitar?
Ordered online, in and out easy fast fun experience. Thank you!
The place to check out and test drive your next one and to get your old favoite overhauled.
Great knowledgeable staff.
These guys always have your back! Bought a guitar for my son and the price showed up different at the register. After making sure the on-sale price and the guitar matched had us on our way! Great group here!
Typical 2 to 3 left handed guitars with one of them too high to reach and the other locked down. I politely asked a employee when he had minute could he please get up on the ladder and get the guitar down. So I waited and waited and 15min. Went by and realized he wasnt going to grab it. Wow!
I was in the store last Saturday (July 21st). I was in a bind and needed some quick help purchasing a few pieces of equipment. The store manager, Josh, was awesome. The store was really busy and he, along with Saxon, were able to get me everything I needed. Saxon was very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. He helped me pick out exactly what I needed without trying to pressuring me to purchase the most expensive stuff. I cant thank them enough.
Friendly and helpful staff, but be prepared to wait in line to enter the store. If you can, order ahead and pick up....much faster
Went during the weekday- nobody bothered me as a checked out the guitars and drums- Too bad, I hear, they are filing bk : ( -
When I walked in I was half greeted. Spent some time in the acoustic guitar room, no employees present to assist. Walked into the main room a few times to try and get someones attention. Could not find anyone to help. After about 20 minutes I left the store. Guitar Center used to be the place to go 20 years ago, seems like they have lost their touch.
Always get greatcust
The service that I recived today was terible .After five minutes in the store one of the associates told me that she no longer will assist me and she refused showing me other pianos
I give this store only one star because I had to give it at least that to write a review. After waiting outside on a line for almost a half hour they started letting people in that were getting small things like strings. That’s very nice for them, but unfair to others. I was seeking a guitar and was considering multiple models and possibly multiple purchases. I am also in the market for a wah pedal, expression pedal, and several other items. I am a guitarist in two working bands, not a hobbyist. When I finally was allowed in I was grilled as to what I’m particular I was looking for. When I couldn’t pinpoint the exact item I was looking for because I am an impulse buyer the associate seemed rude and said because of Covid-19 they have to limit time in store. It probably would have taken me a total of 5 minutes or less to determine what was on interest. But since GC feels the need to assign a “nanny” to propel customers thru the store quickly I will be taking my business elsewhere. If they only knew how much I have spent at the Evil Empire known at Guitar Center over the years. Hope you can survive on selling strings and picks. Good luck.
Came in to drop off my guitar for a set up, spent over an hour there having fin with the staff, and of course bought something.
Guitar center has been great. I had to make a couple of exchanges to get the right guitar which I think I finally found. I began my guitar lessons last night with Alex and Im feeling pretty positive so anyway I will see everybody there soon enough bye bye
Shopped here for years. Knowledgeable and great staff.
This is really an awesome store that has a lot of good quality of music instruments. Decent selection of equipment and pretty well organized, very helpful and friendly staff.
Great Inventory and Great Respectful Crew. 🙌🤘
Lets get creative...
Lots of fun! can try anything and stay as long as u want
Decent selection of equipment and pretty well organized; however, my major gripe is the staff. I’ve been coming to this local guitar center for almost 20 years and throughout the duration, I’ve always had a sub-par experience. Whether it’s calling-in to see if they have a simple item and having the employee tell me “I don’t know dude, can you just come in and check yourself, I’m busy” or overhearing two employees behind the checkout counter debate heavy politics or their past weekend where one was arrested for drunk driving; I’ve been extremely disappointed with whoever runs the location. I ended up purchasing both of my previous guitars from Fountain Valley and Brea just because this location is so inexperienced and disrespectful.
Hell yeah love the folks over at Guitar Center.
Great selection on most instruments specially guitars
Ended up at this location when an online order supposed to be available at Fountain Valley prior to Christmas went missing. I needed a great acoustic guitar for my Grandson for Christmas, and these guys came to the rescue a day before Christmas Eve. They helped me with a great selection and all I needed to go with it--even carried it to my car. Will definitely travel the distance just to shop at this location. Thanks guys!
Its guitar center. I dunno what more there is to say
IN MY OPINION JUST OKAY .MEANS YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH WORKERS WHO DO NOT SHOW ANY ENTHUSIASM FOR THEIR JOB AMD LOVE OF MUSIC. THE PRICES ARE NOT GREAT BUT THERE OS GOOD ACCESS TO INSTRUMENTS. SO ITS OKAY.
Excellent store. Great selection of guitars and other instruments. Repair techs are awesome as well.
I think its time to start purchaing my stuff online. This Guitar center is horrible. They never have enough people working, the prices are not good.. Its basically a place I go if Im desperate. You would literally need to have extra money and extra time if your shopping here.
This music store is set up to be very pro active. You can test pretty much all the instruments. The drum department associates are very patient while you test out the drums, whether you know how to play or not.A very active experience.
Bought my first ukelele here. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Its nice to see and experience all the instruments that are on display.
Thank you so much for helping my son get his first guitar. You guys made an 8 year old super happy.
One of the worst GCs to deal with in the recording and production section. They put away most of the nice stuff so you can’t try it out without buying. Ordered items for pickup where online said same day pickup. Went to the store and they said they didn’t have any of it. Ended up not being available for another week, then they tried to give me an open box item when I paid for a new one. Eventually 2 weeks after I ordered I got my “same day pickup” stuff, actually new this time, having missed every deadline I urgently needed the gear for.
Great sales people, I was choosing between 2 amplifiers and they helped me understand both pros and cons and I feel like I ended up with the best choice.
Employees were great, customers were odd or self absorbed.I was there for a while, just going through the store looking to spend money, then waiting a while for an employee to hunt down an item. Some older guy (not an immature 44 like myself) spent about 90 minutes going from one semi-familiar riff to another at a volume that filled the store, without even one set break. Thanks Mr. Never Ending Guitar Noodling guy, you really know how to put on a show. Its great that anyone who has time some time off can come in and see you perform for free.Had another guy swearing into his phone like it owed him money eventually walk into my peripheral vision and start asking me questions. Played a long time? Yeah, uh, not much out of tune 8 string though. Its all yours. All in all, it was a successful day as they couldnt find a tuner I was looking for and I only spent 5 bucks.
Exelent services
No help not enough employees need to hire more never got with anyone left
Go to the one in fountain valley instead- the guitars are more set up and the staff is actually helpful
