I just what to say what a wonderful experience I had at the Sears Auto Center today in Lake Grove. Kenny, Manager and the other mechanic were very pleasant. The work was done in a timely manner and the car was checked from top to bottom. I have serviced my car many times there and have always had a great experience.
Very Impressed!!! Honest shop with Qualified Mechanics. I brought my BMW X3 to Sears Auto Center in Lake Gove for a second opinion. Turns out I didn’t need 4 front control arms as stated by the other local repair shop. I only needed 2 lower ball joints in the front. Fraction of the cost and repaired what was the actual issue. Rickey the manager was honest and great to deal with. I won’t use any other shop anymore and highly recommend this shop.
Purchased a diehard battery online during the evening. Less then 12 hours later, received an email that it was ready to pick up. Went to the counter and the sales manager bought it right out. When I went to start my car the battery had run down completely. The sales manager went inside and got a booster box, jumped my car and got it going. I read a lot of the negative reviews on here, but I have to tell you these guys seemed competent and helpful. Place was clean and guys were working. I returned later with the core and dropped it off. No hassle at all and everything went smoothly with the sale. I would definitely recommend them and judge for yourself.

I had a great experience here. I got a great deal on 4 new tires, an alignment that was badly needed, oil change (cost the same here that it would cost me to do myself) and an antifreeze flush that barely cost more than the fluid. My car runs like new and i have a tire that I’m confident in. And to be honest, it was the manager and his good attitude and demeanor that made me want to leave my car there. Thank you rich. Thank you sears auto!
After jumping my daughters car and getting to Sears (with a only four year Sears battery) the manager told my daughter that there were no mechanics coming in today. So she asked to have the battery tested. The manager told her that he couldnt do it because he needs a mechanic. Go elsewhere! Sears is not what it used to be. Wish I could give 0 stars.
What a waste. They can’t even be bothered to get off the phone. Then all they want to do is sell you tires. I just want my damn tires mounted. Why is that hard? If I wanted to be talked down to I can go anywhere else. What a jerk.I’ve done this at a sears before and they were nice. They also would have gotten an alignment out of me too. $150 for like 30 mins of work when you are definitely not busy. Well we have business geniuses working there! No wonder why sears is closing stores. I guess these guys don’t really want their jobs anymore.

They are so amateur. It was like his first day as mechanic. Just a tire installation takes like 2 hours. He looks like he doesnt even know what he is doing. Dont even think to come here for auto service. I dont feel safe with those tires now.
Unbelievable service. The manager and Technician went above and beyond! Stayed late, sourced unexpected parts and got me going. Put safety first and were clear and helpful showing me the problem.I can’t say enough good things.
My wife purchased a groupon for an oil change and tire rotation for a reasonable price. She made a reservation online and received a confirmation #. When we brought our truck down at the time of our reservation, they told us we did not have a reservation. After 10 min of the clerk blowing smoke up our ass of how this happened, we ended up leaving the store. Before we left, he told us to call the next day and we could arrange a new appointment. So my wife called the next day, after waiting 15 min to speak to someone, just to find out they couldnt help us. We ended up going to a different auto mechanic. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME with this place. There is nothing there but a bunch of incompetent people, that dont care about costumer service! If I could give them 1/4 star, I would
Please avoid sears as best as you can. Go somewhere else. I went there to exchange a battery that is still under full replacement warranty and they told me the battery test came back ok. This is after the dealership did a test on my car and said everything works fine, no alternator failure, no shorts and they prove the battery is defective after a load test. However sears said battery is good as new. If the battery was out of warranty, I’m sure they would tell me it’s defective. I’m going to prove I was right because in 2 months from this review date the battery will hit the 3 year mark and let’s see what they say when I go back.Update: So Sears customer service responded to this review trying to justify that their way of testing a battery is legit and the people that work there are honest and trustworthy. Apparently it’s a pile of BS, because the battery died again this weekend and I took it to the sears in massapequa and the battery tested defective, so it’s confirmed what I said originally in this review is true and corporate needs to look into the employees at the smithhaven location or get a new testing station. Corporate needs to listen to there customers sometimes and work out a solution, not assume that we’re wrong and the workers are right.Poor customer service is what this is.
These guys do the work . Mavis, pep boys .DON’T COMPARE to what the technician, at Sears did on my car, not some runny nose kid, sorry to say you find at Mavis and other shops . Great deals on Groupon also, but these guys give you full service, even if it’s a reduced price on Groupon . SEARS has it to a science . Try them again,
A visit here shows why sears is going out of business. It is managers like Rick that are driving sears down. His outright lack of care for himself, sears or his customers shows! We arrived with a flat tire and asked to replace it. The shop was empty, no one in there but us, and not any cars in the shop. He tells us to leave the tire & rim there and come back in a few hours. We come back a few hours later, drop off the car and he tells us to come back in a half hour. We walk around the mall, came back 45 minutes later to find our car exactley where we left it with the spare tire still on. I walk into the store, cant find anyone. Walk into the shop, no one is there. The phones are ringing, no one answers. I try calling hoping someone was in the back, nothing keeps ringing. Another customer walks in waits a few minutes and walks away. I walk into the back and find all three employees hanging out in the break room. I ask why my car hasnt been fixed as they promised, their response we havent eaten our lunch. This was at 4:30, a half hour before they close! I first dropped the tire off at 1Pm. There was not a SINGLE other customer or another car in their shop! I ask them to just give me back my rim, ill go somewhere else. They say they cant take the wheel off the rim. I said then you should have had the car ready when you promised me you would. He then tells the mechanic to put it on my car, i thank them. I walk away and Rick yells out the next time you get stuck, dont come back! . Appalled I told him to give me back my rim and damaged tire. Unbelievable! How lazy can you be? Their JOB is to keep customers happy, they had nothing else to do. Phones were ringing, they didnt bother answering them. Customers were walking into the store only to walk out. I called Pep boys, theyre helping me with my tire tomorrow and for $50 less than Sears!
Rember this is a hand full of people who claim two have a bad time going two a sears have them go two a dealership and they will have issues with them too up selling them coffee that is cold etc these stores all try two make you happy and they offer fair pricing give them a chance
We received the service we never expected as Sears Auto Center. We went in to buy a cargo box for the rooftop of our car. We had some questions about mounting and installation. The acting manager on duty was the least helpfull person we have ever encountered at any store. We left there very frustrated and disappointed being that it was a long drive from where we originally were. We called several times before we went and were put on hold until we hung up.If you expect any type of automotive help from this particular manager forget about it.Thursday, August 18th, 2016.
Worst place ever. Took appointment 3 different times and they told me to comeback everytime. Save your money and go to mavis or somewhere else.
A total waste of time. Dont bother with an appointment because its first come first serve. And the mechanic has different hours than the store so you never know if youre leaving get your car worked on
My Experience is frustrating.I had a coupon of oil change, so I have been for an oil change, I stand in a main desk. The guy came after 5 mins andasked me about servicei said oil change,he said he is not able to do today. I said ok, i will come tomorrow. After then I have visited 3 different days for same service. Everyday he says same answe. I just called groupon for refund.

Horrible service. Had an appointment at 12 but when I showed up they told me the appointment system doesnt mean much to them and they take people on a walk in basis. Slightly annoyed I left after having been told to come back at 1, which I did but was turned around once again saying that I should come back at four and that again having an appointment supplied by the sears website would not actually save a spot for you.
They are very lazy.they dont even check the air on the tires they got me waiting for long time dont keep you lnform. Should change the people that working on the counter.
This auto repair facility is the biggest joke going.If you want lazy inexperienced high school kids working on your car come here.They are not mechanics and will definitely make your car worse than when you arrived.Nobody cares about you or your car,the worst customer service.Hopefully Sears is near the end of the road.Dont believe anything positive comments,they tried to sell me an alternator for $360 that I then confirmed with my regular mechanic I didnt need.I will never go there for anything again.Watch out for them!They are SCAMMERS!
