First time ever calling Firestone (Lake Grove) for a quote. The guy Pete hung up on me at first, when I called back I spoke a little louder as Im in a great deal of pain from having surgery. I asked for a quote on labor as I have purchased the part already. Pete was very stern in his tone and answer that the company does not do work with other companies parts. Understood, however, its the delivery of the message. First impressions are lasting when it comes to where I choose to spend my money to repair my familys cars

This is the worst place I have ever been too. I had a 1 year old lease on my car and needed to bring it in for an oil change. They gave me a list of things that were “wrong with my car”. The cashier insisted I needed new tires because the guys in the back said they were all “completely worn down”. I told the cashier there was absolutely no way. The cashier walked outside to my car with me and checked all my tires and said “wow, they are actually perfect, I am really sorry about that”. Not sure if it’s because I am a woman that they were just trying to lie to me. I went there twice to try and give them a chance but they literally make up fake things that are wrong with the car just to charge you. Will never be going back

Do not get your inspection done here!!! They failed me for a small hole in my tire and tried to charge me $250 for a new tire to pass the inspection. I refused to pay and then they told me I had to pay $39 for the failed inspection!!! Fortunately my bank declined the payment and then he was able to easily waive the $39 fee. Terrible business!!! That is not the right way to make money!!!

Although usually I am in Riverhead the Smith Haven mall Firestone is just as good. Good old fashion customer care knowledgeable technicians and Speedy appointments. Theyre the best!

I was driving a rental and I got a flat driving in the 495 going to NYC, after calling 5 different tire centers, this place was the only one around having the tire that I need It in stack (2021 Nissan kicks ). They handle the situation properly to get me back on the road as fast as they could. Now the rental company took one hour and a half to approve the installation of the tire, but from what this guys part of the work, I have to say Kevin and Christ were very professional, thank you very much guys.

Great service and wonderful people. I appreciated that they broke down the options I had for tire replacement due to a punctured tire. From both ends of a more affordable tire to higher end more fuel efficient ones. Come time to swap for winter tires I will be returning here.

Hit a pothole and developed a rattle in the front right. Called Firestone in Lake Grove and explained to them I needed the car back fixed today. Will told me no problem, bring it in and they would take car of it today. I dropped it off at 11:30 and reconfirmed with Will that it could be done today. I called back at 3:30 because I hadnt heard anything and was told it was due in next. I said you close at 5:00 its going to be fixed? Tristan said they would take care of it. Called back at 4:30 and Will told me it was being road tested, they looked at it and everything looked tight. I went to pick it up and on the way Will called back, the issue was a broken top strut mount. I got to the store and Will said they couldnt fix it today, they probably wouldnt get the part in until Wednesday. I asked him why he told me they would take care of it today, but didnt, and he didnt have an answer.To top it off they parked it in a handicap spot after the road test (glad I didnt get a ticket) and they didnt put the cowl back together.Bottom line: they make promises they cant keep to get you in the door.

Went in for wheel alignment...said I need new ball joints and arms. They would not do the alignment even after I said just do it. They said alignment would not hold and did not want to take my money.. points for honesty. Did not charge me for anything... Will go back if I decide to invest money into the car.

Was helped by Three people on the team, they were honest and fast. I brought my car in for a strange noise (loose axel nut) they gave me an honest review for the maintenance needed on my car and saved me $100 too ended up paying $25 total after I had been expecting $125, everyone was very kind and attentive.

If I could give them negative stars I would. I went there for an inspection and walked out with a bill for nearly $2000 dollars worth of things I needed to have fixed before my car would pass. The guy who was supposed to be working on my car spent the hour I was sitting there napping on a tool box. Thankfully I brought my car down to Mavis Discount Tire in Selden. They got my car in, inspected, and managed to replace the same parts and do the same labor for a total of $627.DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. GO SEE MIKE AT MAVIS DISCOUNT TIRE. He will actually HELP you without totally ripping you off. And the guys who are working on the cars are actually doing just that...WORKING ON THE CARS !!!!!NOT TAKING A NAP !!!!!!!!!!!

I came here after one of their competitors made me feel like they were just trying to rip me off From the second I walked in I was met with friendly staff who told me what needed to be done 4 Tahoe tires and even got me a better price. Work was done super fast. will absolutely be back for anything I need done and highly recommend

Saturday morning 7am I roll in expecting to have to wait a few hours to get my headlight replaced. I was rolling out by 7:45 and there were three other people waiting with me! Very pleasant guys and great service.

I went during my lunch hour, they took my car right back, all the staff were so friendly and even without an appointment I was in and out in less than an hour. They took my flat tire and fixed it perfectly and quickly!

Don’t go this store for car inspection. They would fail you if you don’t pay excessive fixing fees for some non-necessary parts changing without telling you up in the front. Last week I went there for car inspection and they asked me to change my break and other things adds up to around $300 otherwise they will take my sticker and fail the inspection. I let them fail it. Today I go to pep boys with no paying extra nonsense money for passing the inspection:)

I received an oil change and got new tires. Everything was done in a timely manner and at a great price. Such a commitment to great customer service is to be commended. I have been here 3 times1. First visit for getting tire air. I got quick service and pretty good experience. This experience made me have second attempt.2. Second visit for tire change. A long hair young guy in register was responsive.3. Third try for intermittent noises of the changed tire spin with no traction in high and low speed. One guy checked my car. They only offer speed limit 55 service. Ok go ahead. He drove around on max speed limit 55, which is okay and there was no sign found. It was good because there was no problem. Fine good to go home. And I wondered if he knows any other car services, which can check up in higher than speed limit 55. The answer was that NY speed limit is 55 on highway if I want to go higher than that I am on my own. Ok I understand that of course. I asked once more to make sure if no one around to check up tire in high speed. This guy repeated NY speed limit is 55. He seemed to get mad and annoyed by my question. Please calm down. What is your problem??Silly customers could ask questions and that is how your business grows and earns trust.I wish I could end up having one of those answers at least below.Probably there is, I do not think anyone do, I do not know, here is reference.4. In addition, I called other services and got an answer yes they do. Simple and clear over yes or no.5. For some reason the workers here lost smile over my three visits. It is very hot out and I appreciate to your hard work. Smile, as you all know guys look much better if they smile.

I have had very positive experiences with this Firestone location in caring for my 03 vehicle with over 135,000 miles over the past two years.All parts I have had replaced (struts, brake pads and rotors, even motor oil and filters) have been basically at-cost, and labour rates are reasonable. In my experience, service is very fast - most of my walk-in oil changes have been done in less than 30 minutes, barring weekends (still less than an hour), and larger jobs (also walk-in) in less than an hour and a half.Their tire repair services have saved me on three occasions. In situations where they could have deemed the tire unfixable just to get a tire purchase, they were honest about their abilities and helped me extend the life of my relatively new tires.Front-desk employees have been very informative and have pointed out significant issues I would have missed until it was too late, saving me from dangerous situations or thousands in repairs down the line. Theyve shown me damaged parts from the car on both of my major repairs to help me put what I was fixing into perspective. They have taken the time to speak with me about preventative measures that would best suit my specific model/year and driving patterns. Ive never felt cheated, pushed into a service I didnt need, or that I was treated disrespectfully.Lastly, Firestone puts out some pretty reasonable coupons (tires, oil changes, brake services, etc.) on a regular basis. This is what originally brought me to this location, and the service has kept me around.As everyone knows, car problems are frustrating! No major work, only had to have a flat tire plugged. But, the work was done quickly and at a fair price. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Discieving. In 2016 I purchased 4 new tires in addition to the Lifetime free alignment and tire rotation package. . Every single time that I have brought my vehicle in for the alignment and rotation, I was told that we cant perform this service because this needs to be replaced or that needs to be replaced. On one occasion they offered to replace the left side tie rod ends under warranty, with the following exception: we will change them for free only if you pay to replace the right side, apparently they needed replacement. Additionally, the price that I was quoted to replace the tie rod ends has always been significantly higher than other local repair shops.Yesterday, when I dropped my vehicle off, I asked if a Mechanic would identify a leak that was coming from the front center of the vehicle. Figured this was a simple request while the vehicle was on the lift...when I picked up my vehicle, I was told I had an outstanding balance???? I was charged $10.00 for the Mechanic identifying the leak...

I had to have my oil changed and the service was great. They said it would be about an hour wait but it was done in less than an hour 😁😁

This Firestone is the worst Firestone Ive ever been to I will never be going back to this Firestone theyre a bunch of liars & Crooks they promise you things and dont commit to them. If any of their managers promises you anything make sure you get them to hand write it and sign it because they do not hold their word for nothing.I had a tire that got shredded from the inside manufacturer defect and the manager said no problem just bring it in and well replace it for free I get there and theyre trying to charge me $49 saying that its not free anymore and I also had a warranty on the tires which should have been able to give me a free tire but nope they said its not with the year even though the damage occurred within year and told me that they have to order a tire then whats the tire finally came in now it was over a year they like to play games and make sure you listen to the Fine detail print .I even called corporate and they said that they were going to get a manager to call me back to discover what happened here and I also have corporate on the phone while this was all happening and they said that theyre sorry that they cant even help me so you know what Firestone I am done with you forever I thought you guys turned your whole thing around because I had a bad experience with Firestone back in 08 corporate made it right and then I started using them again I even opened up a credit card with you guys and now after this experience I am totally done like I said forever

Purchased new tires at 20% less than quotes from several area tire centers. Issue with balancing of new tires was corrected promptly. Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. Highly reccommend.

If I could leave half a star I would! I brought my daughters car in to get an inspection done. The garage I usually use was closed for the holidays. They said the car did not pass inspection and quoted me $500.00 worth of work to be done. I said no way and picked the car up. I waited and took it to my regular garage and the car passed with no problems! It made me so angry! How many other people have said yes to having work that was not necessary?! Beware people! They should be ashamed of themselves and they should not be in business! They are not trustworthy!

All in all I had a good experience here. The waiting area was clean, everyone I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. They took the time to explain what was wrong and what needs to be done to fix it.

I went there yesterday to have a nail removed from my tire. The nail was 3 inched towards the center of the tire. The mechanic tells us we need a new tire as its to close to the side wall. I told him to give me back the keys and we went down the block to Pep Boys, nail removed and repaired in 30 minutes. Firestone is a total rip-off, I would never go back...

I love this shop! They are fair and looking out for me as a customer. I just had my steering rack replaced. For 400 less than the dealer would have charged. I have used Firestone for years. This is my favorite one in the area. I trust them with my van.

Theyre a pleasure to work with, which is definitely not always the case with this type of business. Fast, honest and reasonably priced, I have no reservations at all in recommending them.

I had been a long time customer of Firestone and I regret it completely. I brought my one year old car in for an inspection and tire rotation. They told me my tires were almost bald, measuring at 4 and 6, and that something must be really wrong with my alignment. That sounded fishy for a new car, so I refused the alignment and brought my car over to Sears for a free alignment check. Sears said my alignment was fine and told me my tires were all 10s with no wear. I was shocked and told them what Firestone had said. They were equally shocked and confirmed that Firestone was clearly trying to rip me off. I am appalled and will definitely be sharing this story on every review platform I can find. Shame on Firestone.

This store is trying to rip you off. I booked an appointment online explaining that winter tires will be uninstalled, and summer tires will be installed, it was confirmed, and I went there for tire installation. They told me that they cannot do tire installation because I did not purchase any of the tires from their store. Even though my summer tires were Firestone, they refused.Really wow! You are selecting customers. Actually it is the other way and I haven’t encountered such a situation in my life before. You want me to buy tires from your stores to serve me. What if I bought tires from California and moved to New York; do I have to drive back there each time I need service? You wanted to sell me your tires but let me tell you what happened instead. It can be either your store policy or company policy but from now on I will never ever buy tires from either Firestone or Bridgestone and I will recommend other brands to my friends. I hope Firestone and your parent company Bridgestone hear this.Whatever you have done should be taught at business lectures as “How to lose a customer”.

The guys at FS Lake Grove are the absolute best. I dont trust anyone else with my car. They give great deals once they start recognizing you.

Me and my girlfriend took her car there and they quoted over $1000 for work and several hundred dollar just to pass NYS inspection so she took her car to another place and just for $100 they did little work just to pass inspection. That location is terrible dont go there. Always get a 2nd opinion.

Mechanics said my 2yr old tires were 8yrs old, wouldnt work on my car and said I needed a new set of 4 tires. Save yourself the trouble go to Walmart, theyre honest and got the job done.

This place is a complete scam. i brought my car there for an inspection and was told it wouldnt pass as it needed a serpentine belt (which i may have) and a tie rod and an alignment. They quoted me $567. I did not think i needed a tie rod, but agreed as I wanted to get the car inspected as it was past due. They call me to tell me it is ready and i go to pick it up and after I pay and go to get in it there is no inspection sticker. I walk back in to tell them and they apologize and say how did this happen. I answer I dont know. as i am sitting there, everyone they talk to on the phone has a vehicle that wont pass inspection because it needs tires, or a ball joint, etc. When i take the car on the highway the next day, the car pulls to the right and has a vibration in the wheel at cruising speed. I call them and tell them the issue and they tell me to bring it in. I have my wife drop off the car and of course right before she does the check engine light comes on for ABS. When she drops it off I call them and let them know the issues and also tell them that the inspection may be an issue as the light had just come on. He says they will check it out. An hour later I get a call from a Steve, who tells me my car wont pass inspection as there is a check engine light on. I said i know and that I had brought it there for the alignment and vibration. I said just let me know the codes and I will take care of it. He tells me it is $100 to run the codes. ($100? it is free at Pep Boys and Autozone). I start to lose my patience and tell him to just fix the pull and vibration. He tells me it is because I need new front tires. I tell him I had the same tires on before the work was done and no pulling or vibration. he says he drove it and there was no pulling. I say I have been around cars my whole life and know when a car pulls and this one does. At this point I lose i and tell him to just fix my damn car!. he says he will put it on the lift and check it. I get a call a half hour later. He says the alignment is perfect. Lies and deceit....

Brought my truck in for an alignment after I put a new steering rack in it. Was there for about 3 hours. 3 times they gave me the truck and the steering wheel was off center(to the right). After the 3rd time they told me that they were running out of adjustment(threads) on one of the tie rods ends, and that they had to remove them so they can adjust the steering rack internally first. They wanted to charge me extra for this, however, the steering rack doesnt even have an internal adjustments. So I just took the truck home. Awhile later when I was under the truck doing an oil change I decided to take a look at the tie rod ends. On the right side, they never undid the clamps on the CV boot when they adjusted the tie rod, so the CV boot was twisted completely around. The left side was the side that they said was running out of threads, so the tie rod might fall off. I went 1/2 turn IN on my left side, and 1/2 turn OUT on my right side. The 1/2 turn in on the left side gave MORE thread engagement, and the 1/2 turn out on the right side helped to unwind the CV boot some.... ALSO, more importantly, my steering wheel was centered perfectly. Took me less than 10 mins to do.They also showed me a fake alignment report to try and bait me into paying the extra fee of removing the tie rods to internally adjust them first. But that is too complicated to even get into.

I was given this number to get Progressive insurance photo inspection pictures done. They were willing to help me that same afternoon (I called them in the morning), but only if I was willing to get additional work done there ($$$). So after biting the bullet just to get this chore done, I made an appointment and figured Id just get it done even though they tried to do a subtle phone shakedown. After showing up for the appointment I was told by the front desk guy that (although the shop was full of employees) they were understaffed and to come back another day anyway because it was cloudy out which is bad for taking pictures (not true). They never even touched my car and I feel dirty just having tried to work with them.

NEVER BRING YOUR CAR TO THESE CROOKS. CHARGED MY DAUGHTER 175.00 FOR AN AC TEST AND THEN SAID IT WOULD BE ANOTHER 100.00 FOR FURTHER TESTING ONLY TO FIND OUT THEY DIDNT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THEN THEY TOLD HER THEY WOULD WORK ON IT FOR 375.00 BUT COULDNT GUARANTEE THE WORK. I CALLED CONSUMER AFFAIRS. BEWARE!!!!!!!

Great job, quick service to patch a tire!

Took my volvo for Alignment after a front drive axle shaft was replaced. It did not really need it but i made a mistake. These guys damaged my right rear support arm while pulling out the car with car support foot on the lift. 3 out of 4 tires wear out badly and fast. Went back complained but only run around and lies. Last visit of complaining august 2017 the manager says its because they dont have the right tools so they cannot adjust camber or caster which went bad only after i took my car to firestone. They are liars and would not even offer to replace tires or refund the money. Also the mechanic broke the shifter knob button pressing it in wrongly. And i saw him using long steel pole on front pulling and pushing. This is not how alignment is done. I am a mechanic since 1990s and i have always had horrible experience with two cars i ever took to them. I am taking them to court.

This store is a scam ! Never go there again ! I had a water leaking on my chevy. I tell them its the water deflector on my car and the rubber piece needs to be replaced. They charged me $60 dollars for checking, really not checking and telling me I need to change my windshield, air conditioning fans and motors. I tell them I dont care about the AC just change the parts. They said I need a new windshield which costs $1000+ and the fan and motor are $400. I left there right away and drove my car to another shop and spend $200 dollars and fix the problem. Dont go there. The store is a scam

My altima makes noise while driving, then I took it to firestone for diagnosis, which costed me 60 bucks. They only spent few minutes on it and told me its the transmission problem, I need to take the car to dealer. However, after the check at dealership, they said transmission is all right, its the wheel bearings problem! Then I asked them to fix it for me. Now everything is OK with my car now, the cost at strealship is not cheap!

Wish I had checked these reviews first. Came in to have a check engine light evaluated. They quoted me $690 worth of work that needed to be done or else the engine will be ruined. Went to the dealership and they ran a diagnostic. $79 later I was on the road again. If they had been less greedy when they faked their numbers I might have paid these people for unnecessary work.
