Outdoor seating in picture not open for Sunday breakfast (sitting empty, host not allowed by management to seat you there). Took 45 minutes to serve food, well after peak time. Food was good.
Had an egg salad with tater tots & doughnut holes. There was an ample amount of egg/onion in the salad, but the ratio of ingredients overall left a little more tomatoes to be desired..I unfortunately could not tell whether the tater tots were seasoned but these were cooked to perfection. The strength that fry cook had to give for these tots are immeasurable.The cinnamon-sugar dusted cake doughnuts were massive & wonderful, but they crumble against the marshmallow fluff dip. Pieces of doughnut crumbled under my fingers as I was trying to pull the doughnut hole out.
Loved the quick service, hot food, and reasonable prices. My waitress was really patient with helping me modify my breakfast to fit my brand new (and no fun! LOL) Keto diet. I went here for a business meeting and all of us were pleased with what we ordered. Great choice for a fast, hot breakfast!

TERRIBLE.I ordered a steak skillet. The server was very passive with me. Didn’t check to see if I liked my meal, could care less.Truth be told, it was disgusting.Instead of potatoes, it was mashed potatoes under the meat and veggies I ordered. The veggies tasted like they came out of a can & I felt sick to my stomach after eating it.I waited for the server, the manager was rude and kind of snobby.So I called to complain and hopefully speak to a professional, that was a mistake. The “manager” the one who has her dark hair up in a fried ponytail. And looks somewhat similar to a Witch, could care less that I wasn’t feeling good.First of all.YOUR food made me sick.I’m 6 months pregnant. That’s terrible service. I’ve had better service at a carnival. These people are disgusting. UNCLEAN.UNPROFESsIONAL. I will be calling for the owner. Because I paid 25$ total for a coffee, and a steak skillet and terrible service along with stomach issues. THAnk god I didn’t bring my child here. TERRIBLE I won’t be back. And I will make sure I tell others not to come here either. Terrible.The manager on the phone didn’t apologize or anything she just said “ok” and hung up on me. RUDE. UNPROFESSIONAL. I cant belive this place has only 4.1 stars. We tried all the breakfast places in the area and the food here is better by far. Biscuits and gravy are awesome.

This place is ok. The grits are really good, but the atmosphere and service were mediocre. There are better places to have breakfast nearby. It’s pretty expensive for what you get. I would not go out of my way to go back to this place.
First time I order from this place and frankly I was pleasantly surprised, great food, well priced, and they give you free donuts, great gesture just to make you feel welcome .. love it, will buy from there on regular basis now .
Food was good. However waiting 45 minutes for food on a Friday morning with not many patrons is a long wait. The waitress did not check on us or update us on the order. Second time this has happened
This is not the first time i ordered from Egg Shells. They are consistently very good. On this last Sunday, Fathers Day, they were Amazing! the food was delivered right on time, everything was packed professionally. The rolls, bagels, bialys, doughnuts and other baked items were plentiful and super fresh, like they just came out of the oven. The lox, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, capers, two types of cream cheese and other fixins were presented beautifully and tasted great. The breakfast quesadillas were so good.I am posting this because everything was just so great and Egg Shells knocked it out of the park. They deserve the kudos.

I had placed a catering order for local delivery on Sunday. At the last minute we had to change the location of our gathering to Northbrook. Craig and his team didn’t miss a beat! We thought things would be better since they moved.Clearly the issues steam from higher up and thr lack of management.Dirty!NO SOAP in the womens bathroom during a PANDEMIC!!!No kids high chairs.Mediocre food at best.Food took over 30 minutes for breakfast.Dont waste your money!!!
We go here (and order out) for breakfast and lunch often. The quality of the food is second to none. Many reviewers already reference this. What I think is most important mention is that after almost ever order we have received a follow up call checking in and to thanking us for the order. This place is the full package and I hope others will join me in making sure that it thrives during these hard times and in the future moving forward.
Went to Eggshells twice this week. My new favorite breakfast restaurant!! I loved their corned beef hash!!The best I think I ever had!! ..besides mine!! It was that good! ...and Ill be back!! The service was good and the place was clean!! An easy 5 stars!!

I heard this place was good when I started working in the area, so I stopped in this morning before work for a carry-out. I got a mushroom, swiss, and avocado omelette and the avocado was on top instead of cooked in, which is actually how I prefer it. Potatoes werent crispy as I requested, they were perfect! And doughnut holes as a side, are you serious? Ill be going back :)
Waited for about 1 hour after ordering our food and still nothing. Asked for a check for the coffee and left. 1st and last time for this place.

We love eating out. Yesterday we arrived in this fine place which we didn’t know before. We enjoyed a lovely experience there with very good food and a well-trained stuff and a great chief cook. We added this restaurant in our phone list and we shall certainly visit again very soon. Highly recommended.

Eggshells has always been a staple in Lake Zurich community. The new restaurant is much bigger and the food is always phenomenal. They also do cater and delivery as well. Donuts are made in house every day also I was told. 5 Star-

Eating with my kids when Craig the owner comes out to talk to three costumers and thinks it’s alright to say, “I have confederate flags two for one in the back.” The three costumers all laugh and say they want one. Enough! So disappointed that Craig would say something like that. Disgusted!

I LOVE this place!! Ive been coming here for about 8 years and I always leave happy and full!! I was bummed the last time because there were no cheese grits available. I ordered the donut holes instead and wasnt disappointed whatsoever. If youre looking for some good greasy food or some great donuts, look no further!
Wow delicious! Best home-made breakfast and it was catered! We are hours away in Beecher and they showed up early, food was hot and fresh if we were eating it at their restaurant. Very original, tasty and so delicious!! Corned beef hash was so good and the donuts were home made. YUM! We will absolutely use Egg Shells Lake Zurich for catering again!!
I do not recommend this place. It is a TINY space, hard to move around. There is only one serever.They ran out of three of their sides on their menu including hash browns, donut holes and sausage patties. They bring out the food at different times, I saw the table next to us not get all their food at once and same with us. I got one part of my meal far before any of our other food came. Very dissatisfied and would not recommend eating here if you are looking for a nice place to eat.
Loved this place, bagels are fresh and so are the amazing donuts we took home. Ordered and omelet that was huge and very good! Wonderful service and people working there! We will be back!

Very disappointed. I really didnt want to post this and with restaurants just opening this place really missed the opportunity to get better. I think its new owners with the new location. The waitstaff was pretty rude, we order off their own website apparently they dont offer those items anymore but were willing to make them but got grief for it on the phone and it was said 3 times and again when I picked up the food. Either I took care of them especially in this hard times tipping 20% I try to be a good guy. Got the food home, the Hollendiase sauce was bitter, the biscuits and gravy was sweet and really couldnt eat it. Im so upset because this place before the move was very inviting and the food was great. Its a shame that it has came to this....
A good size roach on table next to ketchup. Killed it on the menu and manager said not one thing. Then because waitress had made a mistake on an order was yelling at her very mean over and over until I had to say something. Very rude old man that is the cook. Should not be allowed to talk to customers. Denied the roach which was half smoothed still alive on menu. They wipe menu in one swoop then leave it on table. New people came in sat there. So disgusting and then overly rude on top of it. STAY AWAY FOR HEALTH REASONS AND EXTREMELY BAD MANAGEMENT.
Eating in is good to ok. Sometimes they are short on service/waitresses. We have had really bad experiences with delivery. The last time we waited for OVER two hours- the only thing they could tell us was “food is going out the door” which after an hour I wonder how warm or fresh that food will be. They must have s faulty system within their computers. So unfortunately the experiences we are having have led us to stick with a reliable breakfast of walker brothers!
Great home style breakfast and lunch with affordable pricing. $4 per dozen bagels and donuts are hard to beat! Friendly staff and the owner was kind as well. Also get a free donut on your birthday, a super win! Decor and menu are pleasant and easy to understand. Only open until the afternoon, so no dinner, unfortunately.
Unbelievably good breakfast food at unbeatable prices!....and they have super fast delivery. The delivery driver we always get is a super cool guy who always gives us a couple free donuts as a bonus (not sure if hes supposed to do that or not). All in all there is nothing bad I can say about this place. Everything is excellent. I hope it never changes.
Love this place...Im too lazy to make breakfast grab my phone make the call 30 to 40mins later Im stuffed with some great delicious breakfast and not to mention a donut for dessert a little later....thx guys keep up the good work
Eggshells new location is a welcome change now a lot bigger dining room more smiling staff same family environment.. come on in, we waited 5 min for a seat, well worth the wait! Mary at Eggshells is the best ! Dunkin’ Donuts got old and for the same price I get better food and donuts . Since I’m always on the go I call my order ahead and it’s ready for pick up when I get there .

Craig at the restaurant was so nice. I was having a really rough day and called to ask me when I would like my food ready for pick up and it was nice and hot. The food is always great here and service too. It really is a family neighborhood restaurant.

This place is so fun! Its always packed, and the service is great. We just discovered this place, and now make it a weekly thing. The bagels, oh man. Fresh. Same with the doughnuts. You have to get there early, because once their gone, thats it!

Hash browns are always under cooked and all the food has a funny taste to it but they deliver! I was ordering alot of food on Fridays but you many complaints from the guys about the food being either overcooked or undercooked and the funny taste. I am not sure what the weird taste is but that was also a big problem. At this point burger King would get our business before this place again. And everyone really doesnt want burger king!!

Awful customer service exp. The waitress was already anxious and looked upset as we came in. Her attitude was enough to loose a ten year customer but the soup was salty and not chicken noodle it was brown with no veggies or chicken! Yikes!!!It was a good run. Minimal seating, pretty casual service but definitely friendly. Since it was so small it was a bit difficult to hold a conversation across the table. Food was good and served quickly.
This place used to be excellent but now Max the cook should retire. The place was half full at 11 in the morning and it took 10 minutes to get coffee. My eggs Benedict were so overcooked they were like hard boiled eggs. The ham on the Benedict was half the size of the muffin on each muffin. The fruit was days old and mushy. I ordered a side of ham because Max specifically said they had horseradish. The ham came out 10 minutes after my overcooked Eggs Benedict and they said sorry we actually dont have horseradish. My sons pancakes came out 10 minutes after his omelet and were so cold the butter never melted.
Came in around 7:45am on a Tuesday morning. Found this place on Google Maps looking for a breakfast place. Located in a strip mall, I almost missed it! Place is very small and wasnt too busy. Fresh doughnuts and bagels as well as loaves of bread looked delicious! Very home-like experience. Portions were good for cost. Silverware was clean as were the tables. More designed for baked goods take out but cooked breakfast was tasty. They have brand name condiments, Coke products and 5 types of sweetener for coffee or tea. Definitely a nice place to stop and dine or carry-out. They also deliver. Food was tasty and came out fairly quick.
I heard great things about this place but when I wen I was greatly disappointed. The ceiling was leaking, almost every table was empty but yet filthy I had to move to 3 tables before I found one that wasnt sticky, the food is mediocre at best, I ordered the banana bread French toast, it was super dry and had almost no flavor, I also tried to get some donuts but they were so hard I could barely eat any of them
Amazing. Staff is super friendly and the food is really good. The omelettes are HUGE and you can stuff them with almost anything you want. I also recommend the Irish benedict. Benedict with corned beef hash! Yum! Their grits are also pretty top notch, and several hot sauces are made available.

We had Eggshells Restaurant catered last Saturday for my grandmother funeral luncheon. It was wonderful, everyone was so pleased with the food and the service we got from Chris/Max was wonderful. So understanding during our time of grief. My family will be using Eggshells again for all of our family functions!
They had food, I ordered the food, the waiter was good, the food was good, the atmosphere was good, I was good, we were good. 5 good stars out of 5
I decided to try it because it’s close to work and has a fair number of good reviews. It did not live up to my expectations.The waitress was quick, friendly and attentive. That’s the only good part of my experience.The dining room is tight and cramped. There were only two other tables that had customers and it felt crowded. I can’t imagine how bad it would be if it was busy.Finally, the food was average at best. I ordered scrambled eggs with bacon and rye toast. The rye toast wasn’t really toasted, it was just kind of warmed. Sadly, it was the best part of the meal. The eggs were overdone to the point where they were a bit burnt. The bacon was underdone, with the fat still soft and white.I will say breads, bagels and donuts all looked and smelled great. Overall, if you are looking for a bakery, this place might be Ok. If you are looking for a restaurant to have breakfast, there are better choices.
Food was mediocre, typical greasy diner breakfast. Two Latina servers were very friendly and helpful, the white woman with black hair (manager??) was very rude to her workers yelling at them the entire time we were there. This place is extremely dirty and unorganized, looking around I couldn’t tell you the last time they’d cleaned. They were all out of sausage links, but didn’t tell me until my food came and they had to substitute it with a smaller sausage patty. The dirtiness was honestly the worst part though, I will not be returning and I will never recommend this place to anyone I know.
Great food. Ive eaten here several times have just never had an experience worth reviewing. Ordered food for delivery to Good Shepherd Hospital today for breakfast. The girl answering the phones is rude and rushes your order. Craig delivered our food along with offering to buy me coffee at the hospital Grab-N-Go which was kind. Got up to the room and realized my fiancés sandwich was wrong. I called Craig personally because he gave me his card with his cell phone number on it when he delivered my food. He apologized and told me he would call me back. He called me shortly after and told me he would have the two new sandwiches made and sent over. Shortly after receiving the corrected sandwiches I received a text message from Craig checking to make sure that the order was right this time around. Craigs customer service was really awesome, however the girl answering the calls and taking the orders as I said earlier was rude, and maybe if she took the extra second with the customers the orders wouldnt end up being taken down wrong. Ive also spoken with other people that have said the same thing about her. If I hadnt gotten to deal with Craig, I would have had much different things to say in this review. The person people talk to on the phone is the first impression of a business and I dont believe this girl is right for the job.
Best Breakfast ever!
Food was good but service was lacking. Took about 15 minutes for us to get menus and waters. Our server was just standing in a corner by the bathroom hallway with two other servers who were shadowing her. Neither her nor her shadow server ever stopped by for water refills, luckily another server was busting her butt and was very kind to help our table out.
This place has good food at a reasonable price. Recommend biscuits and gravy.

I used to order from here every other week delivery because I work across the street most of the time alone so I do not have the ability to leave and get food. Last week I called to place an order for the SAME thing I EVERY time except this time it came out to $9.96. I guess their delivery order minimum is $10.00 so the rude gentlemen that was taking my order and kept being rude the entire time, stated that I didnt meet the minimum to have my order delivered. I let him know I ordered every other week and get the exact same thing. He said yea, well our minimum is $10. I said are you kidding me, I literally order every other week and the owner delivers my food most of the time. He said I dont care our minimum is $10. I said forget it. Now I will never order or eat there again.
