A business dealing with the public is always peculiar when its owned and run by a family too cheap to hire any outside help. This store has the added bonus of open contempt towards customers hidden by a transparent veneer of jocularity. Turn while wrenching the door opened on the premium 1960s cooler (complete with real glass windows, authentic metal-to-metal grind producing collectable metal shavings, safety and efficiency ratings that earned them illegal to manufacture status in 1985, and using gases that are 30 years out of production) and you will see the fake smile twist into a malicious leer, eyes riveted to the screen fed by cameras that saturate the ceiling and walls. The middle aged fellow hides his steadfast belief that everyone that walks in is a thief or vandal. The older fellow will run from behind the counter making squawking noises reminiscent of several suddenly disturbed geese and moving his arms as if his front upper body caught fire and he wanted it to burn faster. The first time I witnessed it I thought he was experiencing a medical emergency, the squawks alone prevented me from grasping him as he trundled passed and mimed performing the Heimlich on an ostrich. The fourth or fifth time I understood that a customer holding merchandise had turned in such a fashion that prevented the cameras a clear view. He may produce the noises to break the concentration of the perpetrator that may switch a bottle full of inferior product as opposed to regular theft. The idea is as plausible as his motive for clucking across the store engaging the suspect in sudden, overly loud conversation while staring at their hands and twisting his body while stepping side-side in an attempt to herd the person towards the register while asking them inane questions about their day in a tone and cadence one would hear used by a person finding themselves unexpectedly attacked by large dogs while using the restroom. He expects customers to wait while hes badgering someone, occasionally abruptly halting a transaction by moving his hand up and down in front of him while grunting or experiencing a breathing obstruction as he then lurches away from a startled customer focusing on potential prey.His son, recognizable by an unfortunate resemblance and a beyond beaten down, absolutely vanquished and forced to acknowledge such is his state of existence publically and openly. Results are a broken, craven wraith devoid of any sense of self or concept of freedom, a true servant produced by harassment originating in early childhood and continued by the same person that succeeded gaining control of major aspects of the victims livelihood until total dependence was achieved at the cost of his acceptance of being forever treated as a young child, trudging through every day mourning that everyone knows and sees this constant humiliation, compounded many times by the bowing, scraping and soul crushing bootlicking that is the demanded response to maintain the status quo, the long years turning grudging and reluctant tolerance into willing and freely given acceptance, sense of self a bland memory, vanquished soul curmudgeon victorious!It appears the son forced his wife into servitude, trying to continue the cycle as hes been taught.Break the cycle, country of origin practices are illegal here, NEVER EVER SHOP HERE, YOU ARE FUNDING TYRANNY!!!;

I honestly went to this place for the name. I was looking for Italian beer/wine/liquor for a themed event. Wasn’t what I expected, but their service was 100%. Area isn’t the greatest, but I didn’t have any worries.

The store clerk is rude and confrontational for no reason over the littlest things. Unnecessary attitude to have towards people who are trying to do business with you in a time where small businesses are going to need the backing of their community. I live a few blocks away, but will take my business elsewhere.

This liquor store is close to my house, but I still wont shop here. They have a very small beer selection, and the store smells bad. There are plenty of other liquor stores in the area that are better. 777 Liquors is just about a mile down Colfax and has a much better selection.

You know, generally I dont write reviews, even if the place is well below average. Well my friends, today is that day where the establishment is so astonishingly ridiculous that I must inform my fellow patrons. I went here around 10pm on a Friday, a standard time for a human to purchase some alcohol. Or so you would think. As soon as I entered, there was an elderly man staring in my direction as I perused their questionable selection of wine. Its fine, I murmured to myself. 20 seconds later, another elderly gentleman was blatantly staring in my direction as I tried to casually choose a beverage. Do you need help? Exclaimed one of the men. No, just looking, I exclaimed. Well, we dont take too kindly to people just looking around, we had a bad experience with that before, the other old man proclaimed. At this juncture, even being a 6 foot 4, 225 pound man, I was nervous and very scared of even being around these people, so I promptly went to the counter, got a small bottle of fireball, and got out of there as fast as I could. It is frankly mind boggling how this place is even allowed to conduct business, as its more akin to a haunted house than a legitimate place to purchase goods. If anyone is reading this, you might think this is hyperbole, and I wish this were true. Anyone that knows me considers me a man of reason and even the devils advocate. But sadly, my friends, this place has zero redeeming qualities, and only visit it if you want something to tell your friends about (and please dont purchase anything).

I have been a frequent customer for a few years now because of convenience, I used to live just down the street. However the last and final time I will ever go to this store I was refused service by the owner. He demanded I look in his eyes while I gave him my ID, proceeded to accuse me of being too drunk and refused me service. Had I been stumbling or slurring I wouldve totally understood but I wasnt. I had just finished a single beer at a local bar and was on my way home. He was rude, unprofessional, and ridiculous. I have had many a conversation with this person and in fact helped him kick people out of the store who were to drunk to buy more alcohol before, why I was singled out in this way is beyond me. I will never give his establishment my money ever again and will recommend my friends do the same. Dont shop here, avoid being wrongly judged or looked down upon for no reason whatsoever. If you are the owner and are reading this review know you have lost a frequent customer because you have very poor judgement and apparently cannot tell when someone is drunk or not.

The only reason Ive gone there was because its very close to home. The family that runs the place (as well as lives in it) are rude to just about everyone. Their very limited beer selection is overpriced. I went to a nearby gas station and found the same thing for almost $3 less. No doubt why liquor stores fought against repelling the 3.2 law, why shop there when you can get the same beer at the 7/11 across the street for less.

Looked up liquor stores open later in the evening. Saw they were open until 1:30, and called to let them know to update their hours on google.I was told I was wrong, while staring at the webpage with the employee on speakerphone.Not only do they have the wrong hours posted online, she lied to me and said they close at 10:45. Even though the sign in the window is posted to be open until 11.Im never shopping here again. You shouldnt either.

Ive patronized this store for about ten years, the older gentleman and his wife are lovely people, but the younger man who started working behind the counter about a year ago is a jerk. Hes rude, surly, and basically has no business dealing with the public. I decided this evening, after another incident of rude service to myself and the customer in front of me, that I will simply no longer do business with them. Theres a liquor store on just about every corner; I dont have to put up with rude treatment. In fact, if you live in the area and want to deal with a friendly establishment try G-6 Liquors at 6th & Garrison.

I was denied entrance with a service animal, which is against the law. I have cerebral palsy and use her for stability. The owner was rude for no reason, and refused to let me in. He said no dogs, to which i replied shes a service animal, which she clearly had her vest on. He said no i will not serve you. I told him That is against the law. He then required me to provide identification for the animal, which i told him is not required, but i would provide as a courtesy. He then refused to serve me because of my attitude. I walked out, ready to file a complaint with the ADA, and happened to see a police cruiser on the road, so i flagged him down. After the officer checked with his superiors, he agreed to explain the rules to the owner. The owner told the officer he felt threatened, so thats why he made me leave. The above conversation is all that was said between us, no threats exchanged. The owner is skeevy and discriminatory. The prices are high. He will be rude to you, and make buying anything here unpleasant. Not to mention violating law and just generally being a bad person by not allowing someone with a service dog in his store. Avoid at all costs

I have been frequenting this establishment for the last year even though their selection is limited and it smells. Its local and convenient, so those were things I overlooked when I wanted to make a quick run.Tonight my boyfriend requested a couple pbr tall boys and when I tried to check out the older gentleman that runs the store interrogated me in an accusatory manner asking why I had the PBR and if I was purchasing it for kids. I was shocked at the question, said of course not and he kept pushing the subject, denied me service, and told me not to come back.It occurred to me that every time I have been to the store was when I was dressed up after work or going out, and Ive noticed hes always been very friendly, but tonight I was in sweats and no makeup and he treated me completely differently and looked me up and down like he thought I was trash.Honestly, the experience was eye opening and it internalized how hurtful being judged based on your appearance can be. It was a completely unfair and misguided way to assess me and it felt like the definition of discrimination. I am contacting the BBB.
