The new reimagined store is MAGNIFICENT!!! I walked in and just stood, smiling, looking around. Everything is so organized and inviting... it just puts you in this really creative mood. Gorgeous! Super fun! Artistically inspiring!

The store has a new owner and they revamped the experience. They organized all the fabrics and have workers to help in multiple departments. Its really a much faster and helpful experience these days.

Loved this shop. There is fabric EVERYWHERE ! Be prepared to dig like a real sewer/quilter in search of our treasure otherwise known as fabric 😊. I was in New Jersey visiting family. I came all the way from western Kansas and found this gem. Associates were super friendly and helpful. Cannot wait to return.

What a place. I have a small business and I am always looking for unique and different fabrics. Unique fabrics is certainly something that they have. However, the price, specifically of cotton is pricey. However, there was an issue with a cut of fabric, and I went back the next day and they rectified the issue with no questions asked. There are also two entrances to the shop and the address on Apple maps will bring you to the back. Many employees are wearing shields- not masks, so be prepared if shopping in person during COVID. Additionally, they are renovating right now and when I went in they were renovating while the store was open- so I couldnt even get to some of the fabrics I needed to get to. Not going to find a fabric collection like this anywhere else.

Sylvia and Winnie are the most wonderful and helpful associates. These 2 women took extra time to help me and my daughter find the perfect fabric for her new curtains. Sylvia helped me many years ago and I remember her warmth and great service from that experience as well. This store has the most extensive selection of fabrics you can imagine. Make sure to leave plenty of time to peruse all the options. This is worth the drive!

I’ve been shopping at stitch and sew in Lakewood NJ for 20 years...I love this store...if you can’t find what you need here you won’t find it any where... they carry everything you need ! The ladies are so helpful especially Winnie, Sylvia and Cathy...they are the best workers, so knowledgeable..they know every inch of this store and helped me find and put together all I was making with great detail! I’ll be shopping here for as long as I can...I look forward to my next trip there real soon as I recover my kitchen chairs and make new kitchen curtains...God bless them all!

This store has the greatest selection of fabric and notions in central New Jersey. Their prices are a bit higher than I like to pay, but for the selection its worth it. The quality of the fabric they stock is excellent and the staff are professional and helpful. The guy who runs the foam room has more knowledge of foam and upholstery than anyone Ive ever met, and hes got a great sense of humor.

This is a playground for anyone that has an interest in sewing...or who wants to be inspired to be creative...the folks there are super helpful and pleasant.. its worth a trip from anywhere just to see it.

I have been shopping at stitch n’ sew for 25 years. They have a huge and fantastic selection of fabrics, ribbons, trimmings...Beth is always up to date with the latest trends and keeps her inventory current. Whenever I go into the store(which is quite often) I am always excited to see what her latest new products are.Beth’s parents opened the store when she was a young girl, so she really understands fabric.I love her staff and I have become quite friendly with many of her workers over the years. They have helped me grow my business by always being so helpful and excited to see me succeed.I feel so fortunate to have the store so close to my home. Whenever I shop there there are always people there who have traveled from far because it is the best fabric store to shop in!!!

First time I visited stitch and sew. I was visiting family in New Jersey and my sister suggested this store even though she does not sew. I live in Arizona and there are NO fine fabric stores in Arizona other than JoAnns which is a quilters store. I am a previous fashion designer from NYC so I usually order fabrics online from Mood since they have good selection-but a hassle because you have to swatch it, then pray it is available when you go back to order-plus they are very expensive.I was amazed at how much Stitch & Sew had available in the same silks, linens brocades to basics Mood has. The nice woman who took care of me was so helpful. I went in without any idea of what I was going to make so I only bought some linen (great prices and took all 3 yards), buttons ( fabulous selection) and a zipper. Next time when visiting NJ I will go to Stitch & Sew and not make the long journey to Mood. I will not forget to bring my sketches and swatches, etc to get more fabric. I wish they would ship and have a better website, but I understand why they do not. Thanks and I will be back.

This is, in a nutshell, a 7th Avenue NYC fabric store stuck in the middle of NJ. There is nowhere nearby where one can find truly high-quality fabrics AND trims and notions with this selection. Its literally stuffed to the rafters, and so much the better! They also feature an extensive choice of remnants and sale fabrics, as well as decorator fabrics on order. You can also get waited on in timely, NYC fashion -- no taking of numbers or waiting half an hour, even when the store is packed, which it usually is. By some miracle you can actually get through the line in good time. I rely on this shop and applaud the people who run it.

This is a place packed with almost anything you can imagine.Having said that, the people working there are rude and the one was supposed to help me was clueless .The place has piles and piles of black, beige, and gray fabrics on the floor, in front of the more colorful ones like calicos for quilting. There’s so much hidden behind those boring bolts.The store is so overstuffed and overwhelming that it is almost claustrophobic.And finally the prices are high.Will travel the extra miles and keep going to Joann fabrics

This place has an abundance of material at good prices for my quilting needs. All good quality cottons. And thats only a fraction of the store. It seems as if you could find just about anything in there. Most of the sales people are willing to help and give opinions if youre looking for them.

I had a HORRIBLE experience! The women that work there think they are some kind of GOD. Their fabrics and products are expensive and their location looks like no one had cleaned it for years.But what bothered me was the attitude they all had. They all need to go to a Customer Service seminar and learn how to treat customers.I felt that they thought they knew what was best for me. And if didnt agreed with them was looked down on -If a client has their own idea, they should LISTEN!I would hope they ALL know that there are many fabric companies and am surprised that they are still in business!I WOULD NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!GOOD RIDDENS!Kim

I am from Mississippi and have been looking around New Jersey for good fabric stores. I thought I found one place but they didnt have a certain kind of velore that I was looking for. Never known a fabric store to not have a a wide range of fabrics. So that kind of aggravated me. I thought I was going to have to go to New York which I was dreading. After searching some more for this particular fabric I found stitch n sew. Boy am I one happy camper. This place is BEYOND amazing. Not only did they have the EXACT fabric I had in mind but they have EVERYTHING else from beads to fur. Im in love with this fabric store and feel I can rely on them for my unique fashion designs....

I love this place. It may be small and crowded but if you cant find what you are looking for there, you probably will not find it anywhere. This place has been around since my mom was a kid. This is my go to place for my sewing needs.

A fabric haven. The selection is the only reason to go, as most of the staff is unbelievably rude. If you are a self-sufficient shopper, this may be your place. Otherwise, asking questions or requesting help within reasonable means of their job title will result in huffs, puffs, and snippiness.

Great selections and quick efficient cutting and check out. Wish I had a few more hours to shop.
