Wanting to support a local business, I researched the best companies and talked to everyone I knew that had house work done - George Grove & Son consistently came up. Based on a good friend who used them, I decided to try them out first by replacing all of my roof gutters.The estimator was friendly, very knowledgeable and efficient. A few days later came the estimate - right inline with what I was expecting. They came out one day while I was at work, and when I got home I inspected the gutters - everything done, and very neatly - no sign they were there. Except perfect gutters.I am a machinist, so I know a bit about this kind of stuff - I was very impressed with every single aspect. Even the tiniest details were tended to correctly.Based on that positive experience I decided to take the expensive plunge just now on replacing the entire roof. Again, the estimator was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. He was also was very patient and explained everything I needed to know.I just signed the contract, paid the 20% down, and am awaiting the work - will update this when its done. I expect an excellent result, and will post photos when done. So far, I very highly recommend George Grove & Son!

I had two windows replaced and from the sales rep John, to the ladies in the office, to the techs Lloyd and Brian everyone was so nice. John the sales rep was so informative and patient with my questions. The girls in the office kept me posted (given the delays which arent their fault) on my windows. When Lloyd and Brian came to install they were professional, nice and even went above by helping me tightened up some cable cords that were right where the windows to be installed. I will definitely use them again!!

I found this company by sheer chance but am grateful that we did. Their salesmen was very knowledgeable and helped us realized our vision for our home as well as future projects. We needed our porch updated and repaired. It looks awesome now.Their crew worked around our scheduled and were more than considerate. Everything was done within the time frame and cleaned up. Today Thomas and Fred repaired our roof and some siding. they replaced rotten wood and shingles. They did a great job. About 2 months ago our door from George Grove was installed. Michael spent time with us helping us decide all our options(and there were a lot). The installer did a great job. We had comments on the doors beauty. We can really tell the difference in regulating the indoor comfort level.

Chris and John did an excellent job installing our windows. They arrived on time and finished in just a few hours. I was a bit concerned theyd end up looking out of place, for our house built in 1910, but was extremely surprised that they look so good. We will definitely be replacing our others. One sash did arrive cracked from the factory, but they are replacing it shortly.

I had 11 very old windows replaced. From the sales representative to the installation crew everything was handled professionally and smoothly. They worked so efficiently and finished in just a day. Left no mess and my windows are beautiful and work great! I highly recommend.

Having used George Grove before to cap all our window frames, door jams and facia in our previous home, I wanted to see if they were still competitive in their pricing. I knew the quality of their work was top notch as the capping work they did still looked good and was holding up well, some 30 years later. After receiving several quotes to replace windows in our current home which we’re completely renovating, it was evident they were. They got the job and we couldn’t be happier we went with them. They completed the job in just 2 days. That was for 11 new construction, not replacement windows, new extension jams, aluminum capping on 3 dormers and 1 gable. George Grove did a great job in replacing our bay window. They were less expensive than other companies we looked into and were willing to work with us on the repair, as well as some other things we wanted done on the house. While I have not been a customer of George Grove & Son, I would like people looking for contractors in Lancaster to know that this companys workers are always considerate of my neighbors and our block when they work here, on the northeast side of Lancaster city.There has been a lot of contractor work & house flipping on homes here over the past couple years, with crews coming and going often. Many of them demonstrate that they think its OK to treat our block poorly since its not in an affluent neighborhood. George Grove & Son is an exception. Their workers never park in front of the fire hydrant, block the handicap spaces, or park anybody in. They are mindful of how much room they are taking up on the sidewalk and street, and they never leave any debris or trash behind. Most importantly, they are friendly -- I would say they treat our neighborhood like they would their own.My neighbors who *have* used the company are extremely happy with the work they did. I want to note 2 examples in particular -- One of them is a single woman who is always a bit nervous when workers are in a her home; she said George Grove workers were 100% respectful and put her at ease, and she chose them because it was clear they werent trying to take advantage of her by jacking up prices or recommending unnecessary work (a past issue for her).Another is a woman and her sister who have lived in their house for 30 years, and sometimes experience discrimination from other companies workers.. They speak very highly of George Grove & Son and are also happy clients.

Called for a door install/repair to which a tech was sent out for. Upon his arrival the tech called me (I was at work) and told me his boss did not allot him enough time for the repair that was required. The tech said he would call me right back after speaking with his boss if he was able to stay for the repair or if it would need to be rescheduled. I never received a call back.I called the company later in the day to inquire about the status of the job and possible next steps. They had no clue what was going on, got defensive and told me they would have to get their repair techs side of the story. That wasn’t the point, I just wanted to know the way forward for fixing my front door.No work was completed in the end. Horrible communication, zero service. Easily my worst experience dealing with any contractor or specialist in Lancaster. It would be my seasoned recommendation to look elsewhere.

My husband and I met with Ron to upgrade our french doors in our family room. Ron was a wealth of knowledge and helped us find a replacement that met our priorities. Jason and Tom did a great job installing our new door. They worked efficiently, and were very considerate of our comfort given that it was installed on a very cold and windy January day. They did a great job with clean up, and even took the time to make sure we know how to work the hardware and safety locks. We have not had a problem post installation. George Grove and Sons installed a beautiful custom storm door and matching shutters. John was great at getting the door we wanted built. The crew who installed was amazing. Very professional, clean and had the proper equipment to install our 2nd floor shutters without damaging our new gutters. Our home has been transformed thanks to them! The staff of George Grove were awesome. They showed up when they said they would be at my home. The four guys worked a full day and a little more to finish the job. They installed 15 double hung windows and capped each of those windows. The worked preformed was top notched and I will use this company for addition work at my home again!

Thomas did a superb job of power washing our home, patios, railings and lawn furniture. It was hot, muggy day and he only took one 10-minute break to re-hydrate. AND he explained everything that was to be done every step of the way. 5 STARS out of 5!!

Originally I met with Ron for my project. He was a wealth of information and stopped by the day of the install to check on things. Great overall experience from the estimate to the final product. They did my windows and doors on my house and my windows, doors and soffit/trim on my detached garage. There were 7 or 8 guys out there working and they were all professional and focused on the job all day long. It was cold and they worked long days the first 2 days. George Grove & Son removed and replaced my vinyl siding, gutters, downspouts, soffit, fascia, and shutters. It is like having a whole new house, and looks great. We just want mention how happy we are with the work performed on our home by George J Grove and Son Inc. We had two doors installed. The workers were fast, efficient, polite and respectful. It was amazing. They even did an excellent job cleaning up after the installations. We were so satisfied with the work they completed that when it came time to replace our windows we knew we could count on your sales rep Tom to stop by right away. He was very knowledgeable and made us feel we can trust him and your company with a good competitive price for the work that was needed. When your workers arrived to replace our windows, they went to work expediently taking out the old windows and replacing them with the new. They performed this in the bitter cold with snow and ice on the ground. They had the upstairs and downstairs windows replaced in no time at all. As with our previous installation, the workers were efficient, polite, and respectful of our home. They made sure they cleaned up any debris and washed all the windows as well. They left our home with vacuumed floors, no fragments on the lawn and sparkling clean windows. After having a deck removed this fall to make way for a patio, there was rotten wood where the deck attached to the house. We were baffled how to make the siding look right and weather proof the exposed area as we added the patio. Consulting with Tom from GJG, and Eshelman Mills Gardens (patio designer), we came up with a plan. Chris and John from GJG came today and did a great job. They removed old wood, added new plywood and then white siding over the top that looks great. We are very pleased. While here, Chris and John were professional and pleasant. We are very pleased with how the project looks. Can’t wait to enjoy the patio in warm weather. Thank you!

We had four different companies come out to give us estimates on door/window replacements for our home. Though GJG was not the cheapest, they were reasonable and almost $10K cheaper than the most expensive. Their salesman, Jon, was professional and thorough in explaining the product and the process. He was the only one who brought actual samples to explain the quality. Their installation crews (there were two of them, two separate days) were polite, professional and left our home spotless. You could tell they were company employees, not sub-contractors...they did amazing installations! Thank you to everyone at GJG for a smooth process. They look great!

Had a bad leak back in December. Chris came out very quickly and got it stopped and was polite professional and most importantly worked quickly. Decided to just do the whole roof and Ryan did a great job and was very professional. Chris returned to finish some work on the windows and chimney and again did an amazing job. Overall very professional and quality work by everyone, including the gutter guy, unfortunately I did not get his name.

Jon was at the job site and came to the door to review what they found and how they would fix the issue and the cost. He also had pictures. I picked George Grove & Sons due to their long time reputation of doing excellent work. I had them replace all of my windows last year. Everything was custom work. Very happy with the results, so I hired them this year to replace my patio door. I am thrilled with the results. The two young men who did the work were professional. Their work was subperp and they did a phenomenal clean up afterwards. I would highly recommend them.

We finally had our windows replaced and George J Grove & Son was the company we choose. The sales guy was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions and concerns. We liked the quote we received and decided to move forward with new windows and shutters. Unfortunately Covid hit and everything ground to a stop. GJG kept us informed on the status of our install which was put on hold because the shutter company was shutdown. Finally the day came to get started and the installers did an excellent job. They removed the old windows and installed the new ones. Each new window was flashed and caulked and everything is done to a high standard. The installers even assisted me with installing a new chandelier in our foyer, they lent me their 18ft ladder and helped lower the old heavy chandelier down. Just had a new rubber roof installed on my front porch. Chris and Jason arrived on time and got right to work. Did a great job and even repaired the gutter box that we didnt know was bad beforehand.
